sorry but imagine if in tk8, when xiao had to fight the jack bots on yakushima, she reacted to it like this.
it really shows you how terrible her character was in tk5-tk6. and no, it's not a result of character development, it's not her "maturing" in tk7-tk8 - though i'm sure the writers would claim that if they were to acknowledge this. because she wasn't like this in tk4. she had none of these super childish intros and wins in tk4. in fact, in both tk3 & tk4, she was a very confident fighter, and with a good head on her shoulders. she was able to deduce that it was jin who had sent her the anonymous email, and to start distrusting heihachi. in tk5, she has been infantilize - she's way more clumsy, way more "insecure" (as seen above) way more childish, crying about heihachi and refers to him as "grandpa" even after finding out all he's done (despite tk4 xiao was ready to drop his ass when discovering how evil he was)
the character assassination of jin gets discussed often, but xiao doesn't get talked about as much. luckily, she was fixed pretty quickly - which i may even credit blood vengeance for doing. still, her characterization in tk5 - tk6 irks me. it's just weird to infantilize her, especially when she's the main character's love interest. she was even worse in tk6. in tk5, she was just infantilize. in tk6... they *gulped* made her vaguely yandere, too...
#✏️ - ᴛʜᴇ ʜᴏsᴛ ᴡɪᴛʜ ᴛʜᴇ ᴍᴏsᴛ // (ooc)#// she never threatened to kill jin - so not REALLY *that* kind of yandere#// ........ but she threatened to kill kazuya just so they can 'elope' *shudders*#// and yes the character assassination wasn't AS bad as jin's -#// 'cos it wasn't as impactful / memorable & it didn't change the story much#// but it's still something to be mentioned#// a good example of how the story and writing quality was already heading downhill in tk5#// and tk6 wasn't actually the “start” of the bad writing

Jin isn't really one of my fav characters but I adore him so much for the sole fact that he's Kazuya and Jun's son 💀 sometimes I feel neutral about him but whenever I remember that he's a product of my ship, I go all "look at this pretty pretty boy"
Like look at him! He's so pretty boy. I really love the fact that he got most of his facial features from Jun, but at the same time he still resembles Kazuya. It's like he's a perfect blend of both Kaz and Jun, and that's just so cute
My honest reaction whenever I see Jin:
#Tekken 8 Jin looks like neither of them tho and im really annoyed with it tbh#tk5 and tk6 Jin (especially in the opening cutscene) were the perfect Jin models that really made him resemble his parents

Transformers: Mosaic #597 - "Scattered"

wada sez: Scattershot’s original Bob Budiansky bio says: “This brawling, bragging berserker's idea of strategy is to wade into a Decepticon patrol with all barrels blazing and not withdraw until he's out of ammo or out of enemies, whichever comes first. And he expects his followers to do the same.” Ratchet dryly remarking that Scattershot’s words to his followers are hypocritical is funny to me, considering the very first sentence of that bio is: “Scattershot leads by his actions, not his words.” In the first narration box, a little header reads “TK5: C-86″. C-86 is his Takara ID number, with TK5 being the number of the Technobots as a unit. Clean inks and colors below, along with a preview of tomorrow’s strip.

Hi sorry to bother you!
I'm interesting in playing the towelket series but I'm having a bit of trouble understanding which one is the first one, does it matter what order you play them in?
Towelket 3 is listed as the first game with 1 being shown as the 3rd on the wiki I'm using and it's confusing to me, thank you for your time!
Hewwo! Towelket 3 is in fact the first game. The series is intentionally out of order for no reason. The stories aren't connected either so you can technically play in whichever order you like.
But yeah the order is TK3 -> TK2 -> TK1 -> TK6 -> TK4 -> TK Fury -> TK5
#asks#buuuuut if you ask me TK3 is a bit of a drag so#just know it doesn't reflect the quality of the rest of the series if you start from there lololololol

I miss when Tekken characters were written like people instead of cartoons. I feel like TK5 was created entirely in spite of TK4, as though it specifically wanted to be TK3 but simultaneously didn't understand why the characters in old Tekken were so likeable in the first place
This isn't a dig at new Tekken characters btw, I personally quite like a lot of them like Bob, Miguel, and Josie. These side chars are kind of all that's left of Tekken characters having real lives and personalities outside of conflict. None of the main chars have this anymore

they made my TK5 non-King fave Steve Fox SUPER bishie in this game so of course I had to give him some cute outfits too. There's a volleyball minigame in TK8 so that's why everyone is getting beach outfits with the little shorts too btw. there are not very customisation options in this game and even fewer mods but I'm making it work

I actually really like Lee; his personality and appearance have charmed me quite easily, and I genuinely think he could be an even greater character if Namco and Harada worked on him just a bit more.
However, you are one of the worst Lee fans, out of all the Lee fans I’ve seen in this fandom. Not only do you criticize every other character that isn’t Lee, but then you have the gall to insult others and whine about being a “real person” when YOU get insulted. Not to mention, just- sugarcoating Lee’s childhood. Yes, it’s sad that Heihachi abused him and he had to go through all this, but stop thinking he’s some clean cut innocent man who’s never seen a drop of blood in his life. You’re actively ruining the character.
Lee worked for Kazuya back in TK2, and if Kazuya back in TK2 did things like kill people, smuggle animals, drug dealings, etc. then what makes you think Lee didn’t join in, or even help him? Lee has blood on his hands, just like any other Mishima.
Also, you’re sooo smart for thinking that anyone that likes Kazuya or Jin is some desperate motherfucker that needs to “vehemently defend their favorite character’s atrocities”, as you said it on Twitter. Like, excuse them for liking morally gray characters.
You’re not any better with Lee, by the way. You also defend him like you’re defending your own damn family.
Not to mention you stroking your own damn ego by thinking that you’re some “intellectual” by wishing that Kazuya dies, Jin goes to jail, and Jun fails to save them both in TK8. Do you want a medal or something?
And how could I forget your horrific takes on some of the characters, like Xiaoyu?
“She’s a creepy stalker, just like Ganryu!!”
Ganryu was actively looking to sleep and date 2 women which are both young enough to be his damn DAUGHTER. HE’S GROSS.
But Xiaoyu? She just wants to look out for her friend, Jin. And before you tell me she just wants to save her herself, or some other bullshit, her personality from TK3-TK4 onwards sucks ass, because Namco sucks ass and can’t write female characters correctly. And by the way, your dumb argument about “switching their genders” or whatever when it comes to Jin and Xiaoyu is so stupid, I had to take a good minute to try to understand what the fuck you were saying.
Oh, right, I forgot to say- you’re a coward, a hypocrite AND an ableist. I’ve never seen THAT combo before. Good job on deleting that part on your bio where you called Jun, Jin, Kazuya, and Xiaoyu fans “fantards”.
And of course, you hate Kazuya x Jun to an extent which could be called concerning. Anna and Lee didn’t even date each other, and just lightly teased each other in TK5 (by the way, Lee literally mocks her afterwards when he wins, so I doubt that they even liked each other that much), yet they’re such a good couple.
Kazuya and Jun ACTUALLY had a relationship. Anna and Lee didn’t. Do you not see the problem here? If you’re going to hate on Kazuya x Jun because they don’t “love each other”, then just keep it to yourself, especially when YOUR pairing is just “hot sexy girl x hot sexy playboy”. Like, I don’t know, maybe think before you speak? It won’t hurt you, I promise.
All in all, you suck. Either get better and start working on yourself or just leave this fandom. No one likes you, other than your boot licking, dick riding friends/mutuals/followers.
All right! Have you gotten all of it out? If so, then:

Tekken 8 storymode thoughts/rant/review
Obviously will contain spoilers
But I have to say that
Surprisingly, I really liked Tekken 8's story (which is something I really didn't expect. I was preparing to gaslight myself that I liked the story because I was expecting a mid plot. But I can definitely say that I genuinely enjoyed this installment's storymode)
I'm going to remove my kazujun stan lens for this review
Jin has always been an after thought to me. The only time I care about him is if it's connected either to Kazuya or Jun (as a kazujun shipper). But the way he was written in Tekken 8 added layers to him and developed his character well. Don't get me wrong though, IT WOULD NEVER REALLY ERASE THE FUCKED UP SHIT THEY DID WITH TK5-7, but Tekken 8 was sweeping up some of the garbage left behind.
I always joke about Jin and his war crimes. Obviously, waging war is bad irl, but this is fiction okay. Anyway, Tekken 8 somehow managed to make me really feel like Jin didn't want to wage war. It was more of a result of his own self deprecation. Add to this, he was already suicidal before he took over the Zaibatsu, but after Tk6, he just really sulked into the idea of having to carry his sins and let it define him for the rest of his life.
The way they turned Jin from this guy who's hopeless and is submerged in his own hatred towards his bloodline and himself to this guy who finally acknowledges that all of the bad things are a part of who he is, but it doesn't have to be who he completely is, was really really really written decently. This whole character development with Jin instantly makes Tekken 8 on par, if not equal to, Tekken 4 story writing. And I was really impressed and blown away with how they unfolded the development. Because I really didn't want the romanticization of all his past mistakes, and his allies just cheering him on. Instead, his allies actually acknowledge JIN AS A DEVIL literally and figuratively (e.g Hwoa saying Jin has those dope-ass powers, Leroy asking Jin who is he, Xiaoyu saying she isn't scared of Jin despite the devil look), but they all believed in the chance they gave him to atone for everything he's done wrong.
I wish we could've gotten more about the history of the devil gene. It's still a very vague concept, and I was kinda expecting Tekken 8 to answer most of the questions about it, but still no.
Although as a Jun stan, I'm upset she never really appeared in the real world, I have to say that I really like how they still kept going with Jun's persona as a mysterious woman. If you see a previous post of mine, I have always been scared that Tekken 8 would finally be the franchise who would ruin Jun's character, but they played safe with it. She's still as mysterious as ever, but they allowed her to show more of her kindheartedness.
Like I said, I really wish we could've gotten more. I wish we could've also got to explore Kazuya's perspective. It's been like 6 consecutive games, and we still haven't had a storymode that focuses on Kazuya's character (always the one sided villain). Although, I understand why they couldn't do it (maybe because of budget constraints, and it would really diminish and compress the quality of Jin's char dev if they're gonna focus on both of them). I'm assuming at least that we get Tekken 9 and have it shine a spotlight on Kaz.
Overall, I really liked it. It gets an 8/10 for me!
More things I kinda didn't like:
- Where the hell is Yoshimitsu???? He appears in the tournament and then goes Bye Felicia once Kazuya absorbed Azazel LMAOOOOO. His bio about investigating the Mishima bloodline and whatever didn't really reflect on the storymode :<<
- Nina and Steve.... Uhhh.... We already had them in Tk 7, and I was at least expecting that they would continue it in Tk 8
- The Asuka Kazama erasure.... She's just treated as another one of the side characters at this point. I fear she's just only in the game now because of Lili. She's very underdeveloped and underutilized and I feel so sad about it :<<
Tekken has a very interesting set of characters with amazing dynamics and chemistry with everyone else. It has a huge amount of lore to explore as well. And they could really do better by exploring and developing most of the characters. Here's to hoping we get a story expansion DLC not just for the main story, but also for the other beloved characters in the game.

sergei unorganised thought dump
i think he's silly and funny and sily and i like him
me and my friend talk abt how dragunov's movements are so surgical, rehearsed, precise. they have such windups but when they connect they hit fast like a gunshot (the sound design helps sm with this imagery)
ive felt this way for tk7 but i love how after grapples he usually has little tactical ways to get back up
the automatic, reflexive way he fights is so cool (and attractive?! goes without saying i feel this way), he just wants to dispose of his opponent and get on with it, he's all business..
his heat startup and new rage art animation feels that way too, the glove adjust and the growl.. he's like let's get this shit done with already !!..
his heat smash shoulder bash too phwee!! <3 he uses all his body parts in such a intentional way.. he knows where and how to hit and hits hard
pair this with how he acts outside of business, he's always lost in thought and humming and in his own world.. its emphasised especially in tk8. i still love how he was a bit more ruthless in tk5-7, but i'd like to think bc he's on vacation he's a little more chill. he still has cold intros and outros tho, i forget how chilling the camera stare is supposed to be because i just think its cool </3
i always liked gap moe in my favs so yippie!
he's insanely attractive even to nonfans for a character whose design motifs revolve around the living dead; pale skin, dark lips, half lidded milky eyes (but they shine so cutely), sharp skeletal features. despite that he looks extremely chiselled its crazy.. i forget how much of a beast he is compared to the other male characters (incredibly tall.. like a scarecrow [scaring birds...no wonder the ravens have such a tough time w him] and i think one of the heaviest characters in the game)
apart from a few (nonromantic) relationships i like to think he's very solitary, so i'm not too interested in a lot of ships w him, but i usually dont care too much abt that stuff. theres like one and thats it lol. i just like seeing him be really cool. i am crazy fond of self ships like player/character, but thats mainly self indulgent and disconnected from canon..
even tho bryan and victor are my favs i like.. am not interested in them interacting seriously with him. dragunov's like toooo cool headed to really pay attention to them. i will forever love the idea that the raven unit has such a hard time with him but he doesn't really know any of them, like when he sees them he just feels like 'oh, it's them again. back to work.' with bryan too i like to think bryan likes him as per the ttt2 implication? but then gets bored because he just dispatches people too quickly and moves on, haha. a little ankle biter. i dont think dragunov is a sadist to the extent he is.
speaking of victor, in their intro, theres a little surprised squeak when he rolls out of the way of the attack, im not sure which of the two are making that noise but if its dragu EEK its super cute.
i had such a hibernation period with sergei when tk7 started declining, the difference between tk8 and 7 is insane im happy it stoked my love for him again
ohh yea and one more thing my friends keep teasing me abt his intro in the story mode, whenever i land a grapple we always quote "and SQUEEEEEZES the life out of them"
in more silly thoughts, i think he gives great hugs. i think his core/chest is very warm but his arms and legs are cold. maybe.

Can I just say that I really love Jun's design? It's very Final Fantasy-esque and the color palette is very pleasing to my eyes especially I have fondness for characters in white. Normally, I'm hype for Tekken for Bears, Devil Jin and Xiaoyu so me being hype for the game due to another character instead of the listed above is new to me. I hope Harada and the team give her justice this time and that plot hole of her disappearance can be explained
Jun's Tekken 8 Design
Hey! I'm so glad you're looking forward to Jun, I am too! I'm really glad she's returning in monochrome too, it feels like an important depiction of her character to always favour black and white, especially mostly white colour palettes.
I have to admit I wasn't over the moon with her design when I first saw it. I don't dislike it or anything, it's just not what I'd imagined a returning Jun will look like. I'm still not totally clear on whether she will return as a vision or in person. The interview at the world tour yesterday said she is "missing" and not dead, implying that they do want her to physically return. I'd be more cool with this outfit if it's how Jin remembered her when he was fifteen, but if she's actually returning from being missing, I'd love to have had a more, "out of the wilds" look, combined with some more aikido or miko look, maybe a little like this one of Asuka's, which looks like traditional aikido gi top and hakama but is reminiscent of miko clothing to me:
Asuka's p1 outfit in TK5:DR | traditional aikido uniform | a miko priestess
That said, I do like Jun's concept art, and the details that went into it are really beautiful. They released it all yesterday at the world tour interview and it's really nice to be able to see all the thought and detail that went into it.
There's something gentler and more ethereal in the concept art that doesn't quite translate for me into the render, but I definitely don't dislike how she looks. I'm really curious to see what her other outfits will be like. It would be cool to have some of her more practical outfits back too, like her karate gi from Tekken Tag Tournament. Either way, I'm very excited and looking forward to what role she will play in the story. Cheers for the ask!

Towel Scale explained
So at the end of most of my Towelket write-ups I typically have a scale that places my enjoyment of each game. Right now the scale looks like this
Warau Warawau > Yorumorukimiri = Dekapari > TK1 = TK2 > Nekoashi Otome > TK4 > Fury > TK6 > TK3 > TK5
As I've played through these games and I get to sit down and really think about them after the fact, my opinions have definitely shifted around and changed. Some games find themselves inexplicably lower or higher on the scale with each review so I figured I'd give a more compressed version of my thoughts on each game and how I really feel about them as a whole in this current time. Just as a small reference I guess :')
(Also reminder this is more of a personal enjoyment scale than a quality scale lmao)
Warau, Warawau: Still my favorite game out of all of them. Story is focused and very cleverly weaved together. First playthrough was very unique and wonderful thing to just experience. Second playthrough is when I got to recontextualize all the events unfolding which made the ending hit even harder than the first time. There was clearly a lot of effort and care put into this game and it still stands out as one of the most unique Towelket games and RPGmaker games I've had the pleasure of playing.
Yorumorukimiri and Dekapari: I put these two in the same level because honestly they both have similar qualities and flaws. Yorumorukimiri and Dekapari both have very engaging characters and storylines. There very rarely a moment where I'm not enjoying what's happening in the moment. However I believe they both have a similar issues of not really knowing what direction they want to go towards the end. Yorumorukimiri was fantastic, probably some of the best written characters in the series, however the third game attempts to conclude a story that has already been concluded and as a result ends up confused on what it wants to accomplish.
Dekapari was very fun and the story and characters never failed to grab my attention. The atmosphere of this game is just wonderful however I feel a lot of ideas it clearly had at the start just don't really get done justice by the third act which is unfortunate. But overall I feel everything else it does well easily makes up for it.
Towelket 1 and Towelket 2: I'd say these two games are pretty on par with each other. The only reason they're not any higher is just due to the fact that I think Kanao's writing and presentation have just significantly improved since these games. Their stories are both focused and end perfectly imo. I would probably recommend these two the most as an introduction to the series or anyone who just enjoys RPGmaker games at all.
Kaiketsu! Nekoashi Otome: Great game! Very good presentation and overall story. The only reason it's ranked lower is due to the fact that it's more of a funny game that also has a good story. Some characters exist purely for laughs which I don't mind at all but by default they're just not as compelling as some of the other variations of themselves. It's the game that probably made me laugh the hardest but the humor is admittedly a lot more low-brow than the funnies in later games.
Towelket 4: I definitely feel like I didn't give this game enough credit the first time around. For what it is, the story is actually pretty interesting and the cast of characters are very fun to be around. However this game is held back simply due to the fact that it's just kind of unfinished? It ends rather abruptly to the point it's infamous among the people that play these games. With some context, it's very clear that this game was meant to be apart of something much bigger but unfortunately the game that was supposed to pick up where this one left off just never happened. So instead, we're left with a pretty painful situation where this story just never got the conclusion it deserved.
Towelket Fury: This game is a broken mess and it's story is equally as broken but it's really a train wreck you can't look away from. The fact that this game managed to not immediately become lost media is astounding. It's easily the most nihilistic Towelket game and the entire story plays out like the creator just spitting out their frustrations with the world into a single RPGmaker game. However as interesting as it is, I can't say it really makes for a good story. Overall, seeing what Kanao is capable of in a good mental state is just a hundred times more engaging and valuable to me than what this game turned out to be. I don't hate it and I do still believe its one of the more interesting games out of the classic Towelkets but overall compared to the more modern and well polished games it just can't compete.
Towelket 6: Interesting start, horrid middle, dull ending. I liked the dynamic between the main three girls at the start but once Nyanyamo is removed from the story, the game just becomes really really boring. It quickly loses focus and the main characters just end up taking a backseat for most of the game. Ending is meh. It tries to do a little bit of Towelket 2 and a little bit of Towelket 1 but just lacks the context take make itself interesting or memorable.
Towelket 3: A game that would be pretty charming had if it wasn't so horrendously frustrating to actually play. It's grinding hell and the simple story fails to justify it. It's easy to get lost because a lot of the plot doesn't really follow any sort of logic. In hindsight a lot of the story and dialogue is pretty amusing but in the moment it's impossible to appreciate due to just how exhausting it is to play this game.
Towelket 5: Game is meant to be all funny no story but it just isn't very funny. Characters existed for gags and nothing else. Any semblance of story in just uninteresting when characters have spent all game being super ironic or having a single joke and constantly repeating it. Nothing else really stands out from the rest of the game. It's a painfully charmless Towelket game.
