Tisdag's Total Rebuild
Today’s crazy idea that probably is another "i didn’t do it because i thought it would be easy, i did it because i didn't realise it would be so hard", is to remake my save.
See, my MCCC-settings and some mods messed up my family trees. Everybody has way too many siblings (and their parents have too many spouses). My game became a "poly dream made reality" -situation that currently is a bit of a mess.
So my plan is to make the families that have somehow been active in my game thus far still exist in their current form, but in case there are even more siblings (that I haven’t included at all) - they will just bever have been born.
All the other premade families will be made as if they "started" the year Una was born (year 9 of my legacy). So for example, Cassandra Goth who at the start would've been ca 15 years old, would now (as far as I have played) be in her late 80's (or deceased). I would naturally have to create some kind of life story for her, and she probably has descendants. And this would go for all of them!
Since I have posts for Johanssons queued until late october (and I haven't edited everything yet) this will be a good way for me to pause playing for a bit - and to dig deep into the premades! I love them, love their lore and look forward to get to know them and age them.
I will probably upload my families to the gallery as I go through the 'hoods, and post them all here! Will tag, current idea is to call it "Tisdag's Total Rebuild".
Wish me luck! 🫡

I just finished my game up til year 58!
I still have to post year 29, then do all the photos for year 58 (then I'll just do one post per neighborhood, not per family). But I have just been more motivated to set up my game, which is what I will now continue to do (and get it to year 74, when I paused).
I won't make entries for year 74. The next entries will be when Saru takes over. And he was born year 69, so that means that the next change of generation is year 89.
Doing this has ben so much fun. My only annoyance is that setting up the family tree for the Johanssons/Bjergsens is proving hard, even with mods. Parents become step-parents and people don't really show up properly. Hoping to be able to fix that before I start playing!
Pictured is Bonnie Villareal-Romeo. If I were to play someone from this save, it would be her! I will keep my saves and probably use them to play some small challenges or just to get to know some of all the sims that now populate them more :)

So, even if I haven't posted everything for year 29 yet, I have already in game set up 2/3rds of year 58. Which means that apart from the Johanssons I am adding people like Kristina and Sally Cho, Margarita and Karen Dobson, cousin Shiew (now made to be second-cousin-Shiew becauses the ages were just weird), cousins Maia and Alessandra etc.
And I miss them all so much! I can't wait to start playing again!

76 families done, 7 in drafts (need to write text) and then 29 to go! It is a lot of fun, and I'm amazed at how families that feel kind of "bleh" can suddenly become very interesting once I try to really picture them and bring them to life.
Some have truly insane stories, which is due to the fact that I hadn't double-checked my MCCC-settings and there was a lot of poly-relationships happening. Now, I have nothing against poly-romance, but in game it quickly spirals when everyone is related to everyone else.
I now have better settings (will post them, once all this is done) and I have probably gotten the hang of how to import townies from the gallery. I have also used a lot of builds from great builders (will update my posts with that info eventually) - so now my game is so pretty!
Once all of this is done, I will save this "Year 29"-save. I do hope to go in and edit it to make it playable (for example: no one actually has jobs, since I haven't bothered). I would love to play this save a bit more, and it could be useful for the different rewards-games that EA are doing. Or when I want to explore new packs.
For year 58 (when Amanda takes over) I will do posts but only 1 per neighborhood.
Then I need to go in and edit everyone and fast forward everyone to year '74, which is when I have actually paused my game. Since I just posted the family picture of '71, that means that there are actually unedited pictures and entries to be made before we fully embrace into this new world! So I need to do that too.
This means I probably won't play again until after new year's. I don't mind, as I am hoping Life & Death will by then be on sale. I would love to get some beautiful graveyards for all the now deceased Sims! (And also, I do have an idea that tie into some of the Sims that show up in that pack...)
All in all, this has been great fun, but it is a lot of work! So impressed by everyone who rebuild their saves!

Not only have I now remade more than half (could even be 2/3!) of all my families - I have also worked with MCCC to import townies from the gallery. With all the awesome builds I've also downloaded I'm really starting to feel that my game will be so much more fun to play.
I realllly want to start playing, but there's still a lot of work left. It's fun, even though some of the upcoming families aren't really any that I usually have any headcanon for. So it's a bit tricky to figure out everyone's "story" that still makes sense with their traits and/or with whatever MCCC did during my original gameplay.
But I'm really happy i decided to do this, even if it's been a lot of work!

As much fun as this remake is, for next gen (and the coming ones) I'm just going to do one entry per neighbourhood.
Gunnel's generation was after all Gen 0 for a reason: it was the gen that just "set" the world.
Once I get to the next gen, it won't be that many stories/premade lore to work with.
I am excited though to show you Strangerville! It ties to Strangetown and it will eventually come back to "haunt" us as Amanda’s generation progress, so that's fun!
(Then I need to figure out how to "solve" the Strangerville mystery without having to play it again 😅)

And San Myshuno is DONE!
That was 15 households, lol! I have now done 44 households! I have over 60 more to go, but I am impressed by myself, haha.
Next up is Brindleton Bay, which is pretty small, then Del Sol Valley (fun!) and we are also visiting Strangerville (even though the ordinary premades there don't "start" until Una moves there, so they will be getting their own entries once I do year 58).
Given how I now set up taking screenshots and posing my sims, I do hope this will go by quite quickly :) I want to see if I manage to get it all done eventually!

Goth-Pancakes
Iggy Pancakes (34) holding Edgar Goth-Pancakes (2) - Alexander Goth (40) - Mortimer Goth (71), Evan Goth Pancakes (4) - Belladonna Goth (8) Maggie and Pixie
Missing: Bella Goth (64), Cassandra Goth (45)
They used to be so happy. Mortimer had loved Bella since they were teenagers, and when Cassandra and Alexander came - their joy was complete.
Mortimer still doesn't know why Bella disappeared.
Afterwards, the family struggled hard. Maybe mostly so Cassandra, a young teenage girl who had lost her mother - still wondering if she was out there somewhere.
This manifested in depression and behavior that Mortimer couldn't handle. A few years later, Cassie disappeared too.
Alexander and his father chose to channel their grief into the arts. Mortimer wrote, Alexander painted. No one played the violin -it stayed in Cassie's room waiting for her.
Yet, life has a way of blooming, even in the darkest of soils.
Alexander met Iggy and he eventually turned into Alexander's love and partner. Iggy moved in with Alexander and the house slowly felt lighter.
Then one night, a baby was left on their doorstep.
Tend to my belladonna, I can’t Love, C
And so, Iggy and Alexander now find themselves tending to Cassie’s daughter, Belladonna. She is spoiled with love and attention, especially from her grandfather.
And a few years later, the house gets even more new life breathed in to it as the boys Evan and Edgar are born.
Mortimer Goth
Life turned so dark there for a while. It was almost too much for Mortimer, but for Alexander he had to keep going. He still mourns his wife and his daughter, so sad not to have either of them here to see the family grow and live.
Mortimer now mostly focuses on being a present grandfather to his grandchildren, helping Iggy with the house. And of course, spend time with his beloved dogs.
Alexander Goth
The grief of his missing mother and sister will never fully leaves Alexander. But having met Iggy, and talked to him about families and growing up - Alexander realized that even if his family was now broken, it had still been full of love.
Iggy moved in 9 years ago. Their plan was to initially take it slow. Alexander has long feared daring to love again. But then, Donna was left on their doorstep and in a way helped Alexander realize that he wanted a family of his own. He is still afraid it will all one day disappear, but is trying to live in the here and now.
Alexander has for a long time worked in a science career, always curious to find new discoveries. However, he has recently taken up his painting again. With the support of Iggy, he is just about to start trying to sell his works!
Iggy Pancakes
Iggy grew up with his parents in the same house. He sometimes wished his mother would disappear, but no such luck.
Instead, they tried for years to keep up the appearance of a happy family - fooling no one. Definitely not Iggy, or his baby sisters; the twins Robin and Dylan. His parents had finally broke up not even five years ago.
He sometimes think that moving in with Alexander at the age of 25 was young, but he has never regretted it. Now, he can be a stay-at-home dad to their family - taking the youngest to the park, helping Donna with her homework and spend time with his own father (who lives nearby) and his father-in-law.
And play with the dogs.
Belladonna Goth
Donna, as she is mostly called, knows that her mother left her in the care of her uncle and his husband. However, she has decided not to be saddened by things that happened before she was even old enough to remember anything.
She does love hearing about her mother and grandmother, and is trying to learn the violin (but she is not as skilled as the women before her, sadly). She is fascinated by the paintings her uncle makes, and impressed by the stories her grandfather tells! She is social and apparently much more outgoing than what her mother used to be (or so they say).
Donna doesn't know who her father is, and she sometimes can't help but wonder if he is out there looking for her.
Evan Goth-Pancakes
Evan is a pretty easy child, who loves being near his parents. Most of all he loves being outdoors and go to the park with his father!
Edgar Goth Pancakes
A bit on the cautious side this one. As the youngest in the household, Edgar is both very spoiled with love, but also left unattended when someone else needs attention. Luckily, he is best friends with Maggie the dog, and she makes sure nothing bad happens to her "puppy".
The dogs
Pixel is the tiny, but active bichon frise. Always running around Mortimer's legs.
Maggie is a mastiff, and loves just lying on the floor. Or checking in on the children. But then she has to go rest again.

I am SO EXCITED for this silly idea to remake my whole save!
I still have a lot of premades to figure their story to, but iiiih! I love what happens.
I guess I'll then want to make save somehow of every generation. I can't imagine letting go of some of these sims as time goes by. It saddens me already!

They're doooonnnnnne!
I have now taken screenshots of all the families! They are done, done and done!
I'll have to see when I actually post, currently I am setting the world up for year 58 (which will be quicker than this round). I try to go where my motivation takes me instead of trying to force myself to do everything according to any idea of what it should be :)

This is so much fun!
I currently have a massive excel-spreadsheet and word-document where I try to write what I figure out as I go along.
The only thing that won't be transferable (I will have to start with a clean world, can't get out of that one) are the photographs. That's sad, but it will have to be that way. Might be able to take new ones, maybe!
I hope to start working on the first families within a week. I will probably post and tag as follow:
For reading what happened in the background during Gunnel's generation, the tag will be "Johanssons World: Gen 0". To read what happened in Oasis Springs, it will be "Johanssons World: Oasis Springs". To read about a specific family, the tag will be "Johanssons World: Landgraab". I will on this post then have all the tags in chronological order (much more fun), and will put this post as some kind of masterpost (and edit it as I go). The whole thing will be tagged "Tisdag's Total Rebuild".
I then will hopefully have the strength to continue to update as my legacy moves forward.
