Sneak peek! Another inspiration from tiktok, I see too many good animatics and it's impossible to not write at least a little bit about one. ;;

“You know, I think yellow tulips really fit you.” Sprout hums.

Cosmo blinks up at Sprout, gently taking the flower extended out to him. It tilts to one side with the weight of the petals, a neat red bow tied around it's base.

“Astro told me that they symbolize a smile. They bring light into a dark place.” Sprout's voice is a low murmur now, staring down at Cosmo with an expression that makes his heart flutter.

“You got this for me?” Cosmo asks, failing to suppress an instinctive smile. He gets a little giggle from his friend at the sight.

“I saw the chance to get you a gift the last time we did a run. I was half expecting Dandy to make me pay tapes to bring the flower back up.” Sprout grumps, expression shifting to playful annoyance. “Not that I wouldn't pay for that. It’s worth it to see you happy.”

Cosmo turns the flower around in his hand, staring at the neat petals and pristine condition the flower is in. The yellow is a warm tone, reminding him of the summers spent in the lobby.

Cicadas would buzz in the late afternoon, where the sky would change to more vibrant colors before falling dark. He can still remember the gentle breeze blowing through the ceiling of the lobby, the open circle of the glass dome making a soft whistling noise every time the wind picked up speed.

It reminds him of late nights spent baking with Sprout, careful to be quiet to avoid waking the Toons or staff.

There had been one too many times where their laughing got them caught, both covered in icing from a joking fight often started through spilling ingredients on one another accidentally. Sprout was always the first to take blame, no matter how many times Cosmo tried to pay back that favor and do the same.
