color perception / destroy perfection to add character

Hard on the outside, soft on the inside. I thought of a persona like James Bond (the cliché image which is told) when we had the task to paint the surfaces of this wooden piece. The good site (white) fights the dark site (black, shades). A passion for Glamour and exclusive things (shiny gold, silver). There are metallic particles mixed in all the shades. 

Just on the bottom and the top, I chose a soft aubergine to show that what’s going on inside is a different story, a hard contrast. To emphasize the marks of the character I took a sanding paper and destroyed the clean surfaces. This was the fun, liberating part of the experiment and it added a whole different effect to the object.
