My memory is so fucking weird. Like, I can...
I miss when Dark Angel was about Max and not 100% Ben/Alec
LOL, agreed. I admit, Alec was like, the one Jensen Ackles character I’ve actually ever liked - though me being me, I gotta admit a large part of that might have been due to spite and the fact that I LOATHED Logan.
But yeah, Season One in general was just better than Season Two, because Max’s search for her family was so much more compelling than the haphazard mess Season Two was. I haaaate that they pretty much completely dropped that entire storyline in Season Two, with Max so preoccupied with becoming the leader of the transgenic movement after the second Breakout. I remember hearing a long time ago that Biggs, the friend of Alec’s that had a decently prominent role in a few of the final episodes of the show, like apparently that role was originally supposed to be Krit, Max’s brother from the S1 finale, returning to help Max but there were scheduling problems with him so they made it a new character.
And honestly, even though I liked Alec, it would have been better to just keep Ackles as Ben and again, keep it about their family, the original ‘09 escapees, y’know? The whole twin idea was dumb anyway, at least as far as they took it....like it was one thing when it was JUST Ben and Alec, like they just happened to be twins and that was how Manticore handled that, but when they brought in Sam and made it so all of the X-5′s had a twin? Meh. Basically just became a clone storyline.
But like, they left so many storylines from S1 dangling, by never turning Max’s focus back to her family. Like...Brin? Hello, you’re just gonna end it that way? And what about Tinga’s son, and Jace, and we never even found out what happened to Jondy or Zane, and to leave Zack like they did in that one S2 episode...bleh. And what DID happen to Krit, and why didn’t he and Syl ever come back to Seattle when they saw what was going on in S2 there? What a waste of S1′s potential.
Also also, Max and Original Cindy was the real ship all along.
