Produce 101 and rigging...

Produce was a really popular Mnet show, where idols would try to debut in a super group and promote for a year or two, but the best part was - the audience got to decide who makes it and who is voted out. Many people quickly pointed out that Mnet was being rather sneaky in how they would show preference in the idols, some got more airtime, others were made out to be mean bullies and so on. But what really put a nail in the shows coffin was the rigging scandal that was revealed in the last season. As it turned on, every single season was manipulated. Those who got more votes were eliminated and those that Mnet wanted in the group were picked, most of the time who would make in the group was decided before the show even started airing.

Lawsuits were filed, people like the producers of the show went to jail and idols who were rigged out allegedly were to be compensated by Mnet. The last thing hasn’t happened yet. The court stated today: “Material compensation is important to the victims who have been unfairly eliminated, but we thought that it would be best to disclose the list before, in order to restore fairness and reveal the truth. After much thought, we decided that the victim trainees who were unjustly eliminated for the following reasons were to be disclosed, but we will not be disclosing the trainees who had earned an advantage from this. Again, it seems that they did not know that their rankings were manipulated, thus they can also be seen as victims.”

And they really released a list of all the idols that were rigged out in 4 seasons of Produce 101.

“Produce X 101” (first round of voting): Anzardi Timothee

“Produce X 101” (third round of voting): Kim Kook Heon (B.O.Y), Lee Jin Woo (GHOST9)

“Produce X 101” (fourth round of voting): Koo Jung Mo (CRAVITY), Lee Jin Hyuk (UP10TION), Keum Dong Hyun Actual final ranking: No. 6 Koo Jung Mo, No. 7 Lee Jin Hyuk, No. 8 Keum Dong Hyun

I guess most of the idols that benefited from the rigging make up 90% of the final group, that’s how severe the manipulation was. I’m glad the show was cancelled and we don’t have to witness these young people being taken advantage of. Except, we’re talking about k-pop here, there will always be a company or a show in the industry to take advantage of young kids with dreams.

My current picks in Produce X 101 (+their ep. 2 rankings)

#1 kim yo han (let's be honest, this boy has everyone whipped for him. Including me.)

#13 kim kook heon (mixnine aye, he deserved better than being used for tears. Plus his video with the wierd food hat was hilarious xD)

#28 lee han gyul (stood out to me since the unit, hella stage presence, also really attractive)

#32 baekjin (THE DANCER!! Heck, if they don't have a dance battle where he can show off his skills then they better give him screen time for the position evaluation! Also I saw that he got a B for his first evaluation. What a glowup since mixnine aye!)

#34 yuri (dunno he appealed to me after than runway thing they did, also hella funny)

#35 lee jin hyuk (I enjoyed his and wooseok's evaluation a lot, he seemed really stable and overall well rounded)

#41 cho seung youn (SUPPORT UNIQ. They seems to be on a survivial show ride... Wenhan on idol producer season 2, yixuan on All for one and now seung youn here. Since the other 2 made it in the final lineup, I hope seung youn makes it far🙏 Apart from that, he was hilarious in ep 2 xD)

#42 peak (how can you not notice him. Can you believe he was born in 2001? Me neither. How is he younger than me?)

#44 Tony (also someone who stood out to be since his first evaluation)

#53 anzardi timothee (maybe it's my half asian ass being biased, but seeing him on this show makes me happy)

(So far baekjin, cho seungyoun and kim gukheon are my top 3. I hope they'll be able to show off their talents in the coming episodes!)

These guys stood out to me the most, mostly based on the pre-release clips etc. So I hope they make it far!
