I MEAN. 

NO. 

Look, I agree with you and Gon and Bisky that, like, prisoner’s rights exist. And I am proud of you for providing medical services to your prisoners and not keeping them inhumanely. 

But YOU WERE AND ARE A LITERAL CHILD GROOMED BY A FAMILY OF CRIMINALS. 

I have issues with 16 and 17-year olds getting tried for murder as adults. I have problems with the recent sentencing of the one girl who killed her friend because of Slenderman, who isn’t even going to prison, but who it sounds like is going to be institutionalized in a mental health facility until she is 37 years old. That’s not okay. 

Not to belabor the point, but you are a child. You were clearly incredibly traumatized by your family. You were borderline brainwashed/programmed by them, if the final part of the Exam arc is any indication. You should not be judged on the same level an adult would be, and you should not have to carry the mistakes you made as a child your entire life. 

These are adults who made a conscious choice to do bad things. You are a child forced to do bad things who ran away and stopped doing so at the first possible opportunity. 

You are WAY WAY WAY 1000x INFINITELY BETTER THAN THESE GUYS.

I love this. 

Generally over the course of this show, when there’s been an infodump or complicated logistics, we’ve seen Killua pick it up faster and Gon get a comedic “????” moment as he tries to catch up. We’ve also seen, though, that Gon can be very discerning in fights and that he’s very very far from dumb. 

What I love about this is that it showcases their different strengths. Ask Killua to intuit a difficult political situation or follow a series of sneaky loopholes and he’s on it. Ask him a direct straightforward question about the details of something he’s checked off his list? He can’t. 

But straightforward Gon is smart, and he remembers, because he retains the things he’s learned (and has very little of a filter when it comes to important/not important, lol). 

I think it’d be easy at certain points to try to claim that Killua is smarter than Gon, or vice versa, but what we’re shown is that they are pretty evenly matched, they just have different strengths.
