As you approach her, she offer you her hand to kiss. She expects you to do so.

Every time you speak in public, she glares at you with pride in her eyes.

From time to time, she forgets her shawl where you can notice it. As you pick it up, her fragrance fills you. As you return it to her, your hands shake.

Asra

He often jokes about them teaching you someting else... and then he states it's something silly, like bargaining with the salamander. Of course it was something like that. What were you thinking about?

When he's focused, he fidgets with his pendant, lifting it and then letting it fall onto his chest. Thump-thump-thump. The stone catches the light each time. You can't help looking at it.

The shop is small, and you have to sleep in the same bed. Each morning, you're awaken by his moans as he stretches next to you, the chest exposed to the first sunbeams of the day.

Muriel

When he carves his little figurines, he caresses the wood with his fingers to feel the shape hidden in it. You alway notice how gentle his touch is, despite his hands being so big.

Sometimes, when he's calm and the rain gently hits the roof, he humms a song. Its words are long forgotten, but Muriel's deep voice reaches your chest, making it vibrate with its sounds.

Every time the fire light hits his bare skin, you see countless marks of his violent past reflecting a pale light. You'll never tell him, but being alone with him with such a reminder of his strength sends odd shivers down your spine.

Julian

When Julian reads, his auburn curls fall on his fohead. From time to time he passes his fingers within them to push them back. You always daydream about your hand being the one doing that.

As he's getting to work on a patient he rolls up his sleeves, revealing his beautiful forearms. His insecurities melts away in a matter of seconds, and his touch becomes firm and gentle.

His laughs echoes in every room. It's so warm and contagious. When he stops and looks back at you though, there's always that residue smile on his lips and a glint of something savage into his eyes. Hunger? Challlenge? Desire? You can't tell, and you can't look away either.

Lucio

He's a selfish, entitled prick, but there's so much love painted on his face every time he looks at his dogs that your heart melts.

Whenever you see him sparring or fighting, you're hypnotised by his movements. He looks like a ribbon cutting the air around him, fast and elegant.

There's something dark and magnetic in the way he's not at all concerned by blood on himself -being his or not. You look at him cleaning his hands with a handkerchief, staining it in red. You always say that Lucio's ease with violence is concerning to you... but maybe it's something more.

This one specifically is going more into Dakota and Vyncents backstory’s cause THEY INTERTWINE!!!! This is Knifekicks btw, so enjoy!!

There are small spoilers for season 2 of PD in here, they are labeled and really aren’t that big at all, but wanted to be more safe then sorry!!

STARTING OFF WITH DAKOTA!!!! In the post before this I kinda went off about his backstory, but here are some details I didn’t mention!!

This is a spoiler!!! -> Dakota Cole isn’t Kota’s OG name in this world either!! Instead, “Cole” was from a comic book Dakota read as a child, just like “Flynn Rider”. The comic books were really the only thing Dakota didn’t have trouble reading, so he found an inspiration in Master Cole- or the hero in the stories. From then on, he used Dakota Cole as a stage name of shorts- or in this case a thief name.

I wanna expand on a point I made in the last post, and kinda more explain why Dakota is ok with stealing in this AU. Well for one, he doesn’t enjoy it. Kota sees it as a need, and frankly it is. Basically living on his own as a kid and teenager, he couldn’t get a stable job to actually get the money to buy food and necessities- so he turned to the one thing he could do to live. That doesn’t mean he likes it- not at all actually. That is why he agrees to steal the crown in the first place. Mark is a bitch of a ruler, letting the crown collect dust for 18 years- and doesn’t even bother to help the people in his kingdom because he’s poured all his resources into finding one person. Dakota hopes the princess comes home safe, but he can’t help but look at every other person Mark has basically left to rot in HIS kingdom.

This is a very vague spoiler (I can’t remember if any of this was mentioned season 1 😭😭) -> That brings me to talk about Vyncent. Without everything happening with the greats, Vyncent actually did follow in his father’s footsteps pretty well. Because of that though, he’s always looking for a challenge. He’s basically the most competent person in the guard, earning him the head of the guard title, but he finds most things boring. Guarding the crown. Walking around town- it’s all busy work when he grew up listening to epic tales of what the greats did- and now he’s stuck guarding a crown all day. Later on in the story, if it goes past the end of the movie (which it probably will, already got thoughts about William after the Tangled plot ends) then I’ll probably experiment with some news coming back about what happened with the greats- but with no Vyncent there- their kinda just fucked? Cue rescue mission probably, PD having to watch Vyncent go through his trauma first hand maybe? Who knows!!!

But with the combined fact that Vyncent is bored by ‘busy’ work at the castle, and Dakota never really being caught- they kinda have a rivals relationship at the moment. Dakota is the one thief Vyncent can’t catch, and it’s finally a challlenge that Vynce needs to keep himself busy. On Dakotas side, it’s a fun chase every single time- something out of the comic books he used to read. With all of the greats gone, the guard isn’t what it used to be, but Dakota also appreciates the challenge. It’s serious business for Vyncent, and just a game to Dakota- but they both have fun in their respective ways.

When Vyncent finds Dakota traveling with Ashe and William, Ashe tries to get them to get along just like in the movie- and it works. Though it mostly is just the promise that as soon as Ashe sees the lanterns, all bets are off and they are back to the chase. That changed by the end obviously- and in contrast to the chase scene in the beginning, Vyncent helps Dakota escape jail and get to the tower.

Elio sat on top of a shelf holding bed frames mostly. They were actually what he had been out looking for when the lights of the endless IKEA went out. He had some new plans for how to fortify the base but he needed bigger materials than normal, which meant looking for solid wood bed frames.

He hadn’t really looked at the time when he left, though, intent on getting what he needed. He had been so focused that he hadn’t even told anyone where he was going, thinking it would be a quick trip. It was fairly quick, however it was almost lights out, and when he heard the five minute warning telling customers to make their final purchases quickly and leave, he had climbed up the shelves as quickly as he could.

Now he sat in the darkness, listening to the soft raspy footsteps of the employees down below as they dragged and limped their way through the aisles, blank faces doubtlessly looking this way and that for their next victim.

Elio just hoped they wouldn’t notice him up here. He hated the employees this deep into the IKEA. He and the others had decided it would be a good idea to move farther in as there were more resources and a more interesting selection of items to be found, but the farther you go in, the more dangerous the employees get. The ones on the edge could only walk around and tear you to pieces if they caught you. Dangerous in numbers, but fairly easy to deal with on their own. These ones, though. They were crafty. If they knew you were there, they would work together to knock your shelf over. Even worse, these ones could talk and scream, playing tricks on you trying to convince you to come down or try to scare you in the direction they wanted you to go.

Elio very carefully stretched his lanky frame out, laying his head on his bag. He pulled his phone out of his pocket, glad his brightness was already so low before he turned it on to send a text to his friends. While you couldn’t message anyone outside of the IKEA, it wasn’t too hard to set up your phone to text people inside.

:Got caught out by the bed frames after lights out. I’m safe. Be back in the morning.:

He sent the text and tucked his phone away, waiting quietly in the darkness. He knew he wouldn’t be sleeping, but he could still close his eyes and count it as better than nothing.

He was drifting off in a daydream about the foods he missed from outside. He really wanted ice cream. And his dad’s homemade chocolate cake. There were a litany of candies he could name that he would give up fingers for (not his fingers, of course, but fingers in general) and he was just beginning to think about corn on the cob when he heard something below beside the shuffling of the employee monsters.

“Elio?”

Elio sat bolt upright, sweat pricking on his back and the hair on his neck rising.

“Elio?” the voice said again. It sounded like Puck, but not quite. It was darker, slightly off, and there was no way Puck would have been standing safely among the employees.

How did they find out it was him up here? How did they know it was Elio specifically? What was he supposed to do now?

“Come down. It’s safe now, Elio,” the voice sang. Another started, harmonizing terribly with the other voice. “Come with us. We will keep you safe.”

Elio heard the employees push into the shelf, though, weighed down as it was with wooden bed frames, Elio wasn’t too concerned with it toppling over.

“Don’t you want to leave, Elio? We know the way out.”

Elio felt tears prickling in his eyes as he recognized the voices as his dad and his deceased mother who he hadn’t seen in 7 years. “How do you know them!?” he asked fiercely, unable to help himself.

The voices all laughed in unison and Elio growled in frustration, trying to cover the fear that was beginning to shake in his limbs.

“We know everything about you, Elio. Your fear told us everything. You were so scared those first few weeks here, weren’t you? You are so scared now-”

Elio slammed his hands over his ears, folding up his earlobes to push against his ear holes to muffle the sound more before putting his head between his knees, using his legs to keep his hands tight over his ears. He wouldn’t listen. He wouldn’t fear. He wouldn’t feed this place.

He was never going to make this mistake again. Even bed frames weren’t worth the laughing that echoed distantly in his memory as he tried to remember the catchiest songs possible to cover even that.

Phoenix Hunter is different - labelled an Anomaly, their ability to shapeshift has always been a guilty secret. But when they are recruited to the Anomaly Rehabilitation Agency, a place that promises to train them to use their powers for the better, it feels almost too good to be true.

Their suspicions are almost confirmed that once they meet their new team - a self-proclaimed "five man band", with only four disillusioned members left and one crucial member missing, leaving only an empty hole where she used to be - a hole that Phoenix is meant to fill.

With a threat bigger than all of them approaching, can Phoenix gain their new team's trust in time to stop it?

The Almighty's Angel

The story I'm writing for the 40K in 42 days challlenge, based around Kai's backstory and his past catching up to him.

Kai Allen has been free of the cult that he was raised in for 10 years, and short of the god he once worshipped occasionally showing up to taunt him, he's managed to put it all behind him. But just when he thinks he's finally escaped, a figure from his past suddenly reappears, searching for answers about what happened to the girl the cult revered as the chosen one, his childhood best friend, a girl apparenntly killed by the A.R.A. - a girl that Kai is far too familiar with. Kai must grapple with his former and current loyalties as he tries to keep his past from his teammates, all while a drama-mongering deity hangs over them all, pulling strings for his own entertainment. Will he overcome his inner conflict, or will it consume him?

My main WIP, currently working on it the most and doing a nanowrimo-like challenge where I try to write 50000 words in three months rather than one

Three strangers. Three stories.  When Kai, Vera, and Rune’s paths cross in the middle of the forest, the three of them share stories and swear to help each other, come what may, as allies in a world out to get them. Together, they face everything from pirates to cruel parents, and work to try and take down the system that stacked the cards against them from the start.  Will they succeed, or will they be crushed like everyone else?

My NaNo WIP, I hit 50K and then immediately started working on something else, so there will be stuff about it, but not as much as PPP

When Miles Baldwin, a quiet kid who keeps to himself, is sent to a three-week long music camp, it sounds like a death sentence. But as he meets new friends, including trans boy Finn who is loud and proud about his identity, he starts to come around, even beginning to question his own gender. Irritatingly, not everyone is as open to change as Miles and his friends, and as the music swells and tension builds before the final concert, can Miles come to terms with his identity without falling victim to the bigoted nature of his fellow players?

Salvage Showcase: Sachi Mizuiyama

Welcome to the next showcase!! As promised I’ll be doing one on one of Danganronpa Kirigiri’s cast and what better one to start out the DRK portion than one of the more relevant side characters - Sachi Mizuiyama.

The Summary

Sachi Mizuiyama debuted in Danganronpa Kirigiri in its 3rd novel and is apart of the Detective Library. She is listed under technological crime and specializes in architecture, holding the current rank of 527. Sachi was called to the Takeda Haunted Mansion Duel Noir, under the pretense of her inspecting the architecture of the building. However, she and four other detectives would find their proxy to be a no-show. After one of them, Suntetsu Shirasu, disappears, the remaining four reveal their status as detectives to each other and tried to figure out what was going on. This would lead them to a locked room that they manage to get open with help from newcomers Yui Samidare and Kyoko Kirigiri. However, when they do get it open, they find Suntetsu dead, propped up by suits of armor and impaled by a katana. No culprit in sight.

As the case progresses its discovered that Sachi, seemingly, was the one to kill the guy and is arrested, despite her panicked claims otherwise. In truth, this was a plot to lure out the true culprit, Korisu Kakitsubata, and Sachi is let go.

The next day, Kyoko calls out the remaining third party detectives from the Takeda case in order to recruit them for aid in tackling the remainder cases of the 12 Duel Noir Challenge. Sachi is hesitant and holds a bit of a grudge for being framed, but nonetheless goes and joins the group in Salvador’s car. While the girls request the other three’s aid, Sachi initially doesn’t want to, but gives in after a combination of peer pressure, hearing Salvador’s tale of his lost partner and wanting to regain some pride over the framing debacle. She opts to take on the Museum of Medieval Torture Duel Noir, since she has been at the museum before.

During this time, she uses her ability to read people and decieving even the likes of the police and uni students in order to acquire information that leads her into not only discovering the culprit, Koriyasu Karisuba, but also figuring out how he killed his target: a university professor who murdered his girlfriend. She even meets one of her teammates, Licorne, who warns her not to go too far since the others wouldn’t want there to be anymore victims...

Which leads into one of the twists for the 5th volume. Sachi is one of the 12 Victims, being a Libra and the culprit of the Libra Girls Academy Duel Noir. She killed a student she had an altercation with in the past and kidnapped two others as well for her ploy. Prior to attending to her case, she used her Ally status to gain information on both the Museum and Bar cases, as well as killing Hajiki. From there, under the guise of a Black Cape, trapped Yui and the two innocents of her Duel Noir in the academy - which used the likes of a scale trick. With help from Salvador, Yui and the others escape...only for Sachi to ambush Salvador, beating him in the head with her pipe and heavily injuring him. While Yui does manage to expose Sachi as a Victim, Sachi doesn’t care and holds her up with a nail gun. She reveals herself to be a fanatic to Gekka, the Host of the 12 Duel Noir Challlenge, not wanting him to step down from his role as an Executive for the Victims Catharsis Committee. Ultimately, interference by the Mystery Research Society Sal brought with him has her knocked out and arrested. In jail, she gives out the information of the two Duel Noirs she looked into, wondering if Yui’s method is right before hanging up to face law’s judgement.

As a person, Sachi is cautious, keen and holds a fierce deception game with a knack for reading people. She can quickly get a read on the character of a person and exploits it to gain advantage in her situation, easily crafting lies on the spot to get people to drop their guard. In contrast, she is also adept at hiding her true nature up until she needs to personally get involved. While she tries to hold up a front of being a dutiful, if reluctant, prideful and easily flustered, detective that loves her culture and even a bit of a romantic (if her interaction with Salvador was genuine), behind it is a woman that holds a fierce, crazed, murderously loyal, devotion to Gekka - the person she admires the most since he embodies upholding conviction the most from what she ‘read’ from him. A trait that she herself admits she lacks, which is why she can’t be someone of justice. When it comes to this she holds no care for others lives or even her own Catharsis, valuing only the person she holds dear and only wants to give him the Catharsis that she believed he deserved.

The Rundown

In DRK one of the main themes concerning the novels concerns what drives a detective forward. For Yui Samidare its justice, for the seedier individuals it would be fame and prestige from their Library rank.In this case of Sachi her drive and theme is attachment. Though if you want to go further, its ‘toxic attachment’ or even ‘parasocial attachment’.

Now Sachi as a concept is also interesting since she serves as a foil to Yui. What do you get when you have Yui, who holds an utter passion for justice and protecting nature for those she cares about, but boil it down to just the latter trait? Well, you get Sachi - a person that can empathize with those she’s attached to and think of them worthy of being saved, but has no real concern for those who are outside that attachment. AKA pretty much everyone else that are not Gekka.

Anything for someone that, as far as the novels go, she actually doesn’t have a real bond with. Sachi is giving it her all to someone who she knows nothing of personally aside from his image and in turn he knows nothing personal of her. She’s more akin to an obsessed fangirl in that regard or thrall if you want to fit in with the Triple Zeroes having a monster/supernatural theme to them. This contrasts greatly with Yui doing her best try and save people from the Duel Noir. She doesn’t know them personally, but its her care for the lives of others that has her try to ensure their safety, instead of measuring their worth based on a personal standard. A line that separates selfishness (Sachi) and selflessness (Yui). It’s also ironic that Sachi, someone who knows little of Gekka personally, is willing to go through extreme lengths to stop someone who actually has met Gekka and know of him long enough have some sort of respectful relationship with, even if they were enemies. Heck, on thate note, Sachi even seemed jealous of Yui for it, wondering why it couldn’t have been her chosen instead.

Both Sachi and Yui even contrast design wise. Yui is a girl of moderate-reasonably taller stature that has athletic legs. One of her deign choices is that she wears shorts instead of the usual school skirt, better suited for her detective work and showcasing more of her unorthodox nature in a profession full of people either lost their way or not really doing it for justice. Frequently throughout the novel, we get to see just how caring she is and willing to help those in need, holding a virtuous heart inspite of being unconventional looking and wouldn’t want to harm anybody if she could help it. Sachi, meanwhile, is a short woman dressed in kimono, seemingly weak, and appears as traditionally elegant as one could get. Yet, by her actions, it shows that such a design is hiding her twisted emotions and how the seemingly traditional look is not as benevolent as it seems. She holds no care for those outside of Gekka, and is not above brutally attacking and killing people with blunt force if necessary.

There’s also a degree of tragedy in here given that Sachi goes through great lengths, effectively ruining her life for someone she rarely knows. She kills two people in cold blood, gravely wounds a third, kidnaps two that didn’t have anything to do with her plight beforehand and was planning on keeping Yui hostge. She did all of this, only for the audience to find out later on that Gekka died before the girls even reached his castle. She gave her all for someone that was already dead before she knew it. Effectively making her actions pointless.

Personal Thoughts

Now, what do I think about Sachi? Well, its  of a bit of Madarai situation where I can appreciate the concept surrounding her and, unlike the Madarai, I do like her personality....just not so much the execution concerning her roles in the story.

Sachi’s case is...weird. You see, when you have the summary in mind and knowledge of her role in 3 out of 7 of the novels, on-paper everything seems to click. But its when you prod at each novel case by case does things fall apart. Sachi appears in the ending case of Volume 3. While she was the framed party for the case, ultimately she, Salvador and Hajiki mostly take a backseat as the cases’s third parties, good for some more worldbuilding or alibi piecing together, but not much in the way of development yet.

Volume 4 sees a bit more of her character shown off such as her cautious nature, love of Japanese culture and even how much she values her pride in terms of being slighted. But volume 4 is not focused on her. Hajiki and her leave the novel early on in favor or Kyoko, Yui and Salvador getting spotlight with their cases and stories.

It isn’t until volume 5 where I can consider Sachi to be a fully fleshed out character since we get her background concerning her counselor life, how she handles investigations, own philosophy concerning her ‘readings’ and, naturally, her attitude as a devoted fan of Gekka and ruthless Victim. The problem with her comes when you try and stick the reveal portions of her character with her prior depictions. They don’t feel cohesive and for several reasons.

1. Sachi’s role in 3/4 is greatly lower than that of most of her teammates, only barely beating out Hajiki in terms of character relevance and scenes at this point. And this is to be expected given the others are the main characters, a Triple Zero and the partner of a dead side character. Sachi never had time to shine much until 5, but this also means that (if the twist planned in advance mind you...and personally I think otherwise) her reveal as a villain was going to be rocky from the get go.

2. The ‘foreshadowing’ of her villain status is...shaky. Now I don’t want to say, ‘oh its just Volume 5 where it hinted’, since looking at volume 4 (with the benefit of hindsight) you could probably guess she’s suspicious given that she joins the team last and maybe for not wanting to believe Gekka is a criminal. But in defense of that, it was never really was a stand-out extent and even Hajiki/Salvador didn’t quite want to believe Gekka was crooked. Vol 5 is where it's more concrete, like bringing up her school counselor status, using a pipe which is the Libra Girls’s weapon of choice or Lico’s line, but I also feel it still isn’t enough to match with how drastically she changes and her motivation reveal. Actually, that might just be the biggest ‘sin’ here...

3. The reveal set in place is too drastically different for her character to take on to really match her character. It feels tacked on, partly for the sake of an out of left field swerve and partly a reason I’ll get to later. For the former it kind of leaves a bad taste for me since it feels like the story is kicking you for being sane and agreeing with logic that itself set up. ‘Yes, DRK, I should have pieced together that one of the three guys in the 3rd novel who, according to the Duel Noir set-ups, was specifically a framed party meant to go to prison for Korisu and with logic from Kyoko herself stating that she was very likely not to be a culprit or with the enemy.... just so happened to be a culprit in the Challenge and supports the enemy!’ forgive me for expecting the author wouldn’t be the type to do this. It does a disservice to both the reader and even Kyoko since its not a twist that happened based on the cast making a logical mistake or not considering the options but the wriitng equivalent of the author going back on their word. It also makes the story feel rather contrived considering how unlucky the others were to just so happen to have the enemy just so happens to be in another active Duel Noir.

3. Too much roles at once. She’s a member of the Allied Detectives, except she’s actually a Victim...oh no wait that’s not actually important. She’s a devotee for Gekka....for some reason. She has never shown this level of insane passion beforehand. And now she’s out of the story for good. You can see the issue right? She’s slotted into too many parts, with both the Victim and Fangirl role being slotted in abruptly late in volume 5 to ever feel natural. It’s even worse for the former because not even the story gives a shit about that role, in preference for the Gekka reveal...which doesn’t work given the aformentioned lack of buildup or naturalness to it. It’s less of enhancement to Sachi’s character and more of another piece the author seemed in a hurry to shove in.

4. Now for the other partial reason why I think her villain status exists, and it kind goes back to the unused potential of the other recruits, Salvador and Hajiki. DRK is a story centered around both Yui and Kyoko. While others like Lico and the VCC Executives exist and can have their own stories told, its centered about those two first and foremost. While the Challenge required helpers to aid them since they couldn’t tackle all twelve realistically, the issue comes with utilizing the Recruits beyond it in a story mostly centered about the mentioned two. An issue that the author likely opted to resolve by just writing them out as fast as he could. Perhaps plans had to be changed and/or maybe the author didn’t quite know how to get these guys out of the stories cleanly, but I believe Sachi being a villain that takes out Hajiki and Sal was a hasty way of getting all three recruits out wihout stopping to wonder about their contributions to the story.

Dead, hospital or, in Sachi’s case, prison. It would explain why the story brushes aside her being a Victim with ‘Gekka may/may not have pulled some strings’, she herself having no care or bothering to explain her past with her Target (which stands out sorely considering every other Victim in this story is very affected by their lives being wrecked by their Targets), and the whole abrupt nature of her Gekka’s devotee reveal. It feels unnatural because its likely the author’s way of getting her out immediately nstead of a more organic method.

Something that is kind of upseting since I really love the Allies recruited for the 12 Duel Noir Challenge, Sachi included because it gave the sense of proper escalation. The girls can’t take down a crime organization by thesemselves so gaining detectives they know are clean (at least that was the plan) was a nice step towards maybe forming their own organization of stopping the Duels. Being more strategic in their planning and proactive? We can even explore more group dynamics now and see how their different specliazations clash or enhance their investigations? Nope. In about two days their new team went from six back to one so darn quick its unreal. It’s sad and reeks of so much more, but its a done deal.

Beyond her roles, I really do love Sachi’s personality. She’s a smol woman whose quick wits and improv tongue can get in her good graces or out of jams. It’s really enjoyable! What’s not to like!

Productivity challlenge until my university entrance exams, day 1

Hi everyone, welcome back to my blog!

None of my friends came to school today ): It was a bit boring because of that, but at least I spent some extra time studying. Let's get started.

3 hours of Biology (A mix of various topics as I am preparing for an exam)

A mock test (Took around 3 hours, preparing for the same exam mentioned above)

An hour of Physics (Harmonic Movement)

An hour of Maths (Derivatives)

I also asked my teachers some questions that I struggled with. Some questions (especially in derivatives and integration) can get really challenging. I think that I am slowly getting better at those though.

9 Years of Shadows is a beautiful pixelart metroidvania and one of the most underrated indies of 2023. The land has been cursed for nine years. Several innocents died with two being Europa's parents. So she trained since then and ventures into a castle where the curse originated from. She gets killed by a mad demon, but is resurrected by a magical teddy bear. Color is restored to the world and using a collection of armor from the gods she'll fight back against these forces. The combat loop is fun as you different colored attacks to pierce through enemy defense. Forcing you to switch on the fly. Each armor set also has unique skills used to traverse the environment which creates fun platforming challlenges. Exploration is fun and boss fights are highlights of your journey. With tons of visual spectacle and making good use of the upgrades you've gained. The pixelart is gorgeous of course, soundtrack is good, and while the story feels ignored at times I think it's enjoyable and has good character development. There are some difficulty spikes and the final boss is chaotic for the sake of being chaotic, but the game succeeds at what it wants to do and wraps up when it needs to. Does he miss them?

He had thought this to be a dream, where he actually ran away. What child would not want to dream of that when faced with hardship, where one past is a chain to the place of freedom. Muyeon does miss them, his uncle and mother most especially. Most likely the leader has already been chosen, that he was regarded as a disgraced. that there was nothing else he could do, all avenues were sought after and were done away with.

"I miss my mother, but what child wouldn't."

instead he is in a place where fantasy is more prevalent, where there are so many way other ways to do combat, to battle evil. though his clan is called the demonic cultivation sect, it is not one that actively challlenges injustice. So to see it so in a land where there is no such large groups...

The cold breeze, the sound of unknown creatures in the sky. the giant tree of yggdrasil. there was so much to learn, now that he feels that there is smaller chances every time. already he learns more and more, magic is something he can do.

"My mother, did not raise a cry baby over something as trivial as this. She would want me to succeed, no matter what."

"I have been blessed."

And he looks at Erik, full on.

"To have Good friends in a land where I cannot see hope. So I will exceed my own expectations and thrive here, and to do that I must learn every martial arts this land has to offer, and after that. Start my own sect, become a master of the arts, and bring more peace into this world."

Aww, man, the show’s over already?

Go ahead and colour Erik a little bummed out! He’s seen Muyeon fightin’ plenty of times by now—hell, they’ve fought together for quite a few!—so he figured observing something like this would be fine! Nevertheless, though, without verbal complaint, Erik merely shrugs, not at all genuinely upset with the other, and juts a thumb to a patch of ground a small distance beside him.

“Well, if you’re done, then you’re done—it’s not like I’m gonna tell ya to train more after that.” He’d only said it a moment ago because he figured he wasn’t! “But if that’s the case, then come sit here, yeah? Since you’ve been at it for awhile, it’s best to take a break, now.

“Don’t worry too much about any neighbours, anyway,” Erik continues on, resting an elbow on a knee. “People around here are used to the sounds of all sorts’a training going on, so I doubt they’re upset. Most folks don’t have any kinda issue just comin’ up to tell you if they do, anyhow...”

But, still, the two of them made camp at the base of the mountain that leads up to Angri-la; not quite the campsite that was closes to Puerto Valor, but certainly not either of the sites that were afflicted by snow and wintry climate due to altitude. It was still a pretty common place to settle down on the way to either town, though, so Erik’s not at all concerned—anybody heading up the mountain, for sure, shouldn’t be bothered by the sounds of training.

He’s not so oblivious, though, to the way Muyeon seems bothered, and he doesn’t think it settles on any one thing; he doesn’t wanna push the poor guy, but there is something he’s pretty sure will be okay...

“Eh, the volume aside,” it’d be better to not answer that right now, maybe, “do you...do you miss it? Or, actually, I should probably say them.”

Not that he’s totally fond of the characters from Muyeon’s past, from what he’s been told of a few of them before, but Erik can still understand it. So, if he wants to talk...

DEVELOPMENT MARCHES ON... With the events of Fantasia come to a close and everything seemingly falling back into its old place while everyone falls into their old routines, for Ivan the developments of his challenge and the temporary realm means change.

At the end of his challenge he’s looked at what defines him, how he defines himself and how he lets himself be defined. Returning to his world temporarily gave him the push he needed to move on and resolve himself to his new purpose. 

Fantasia, while temporarily allowing him a form that makes it easier to interact with others, was the first steps towards trying to approach others not as king, but as person. A lack of human appearance makes it harder once more, but it left him wanting to be part of the people here.

That means, he’ll be around more places in Spirale. Although the likeliest places to meet him remain the Fibonacci library and Savior’s Respite, he’s roaming about wherever his height permits him.

In a minimum effort to adjust to the modern age order to “facilitate” communication, he will forego his archaic speech... exceptions when he wants to be pompous or when he slips. He’s 100% able to parse most of it as is (as all other Servants are too), he’s just not used to speaking it himself. 

Peaaasaaants....? Big WIP, but he’ll be more open to participating in things beneath his status. Got a pride vs curiosity thing going here.

With dropping some of the royal pretense and his actual personality surfacing, naturally he’ll be contradicting some impressions he left on other characters. He’s far ruder, direct and sardonic than he’s left most others believe he is. On the other hand he’ll also let some teasing and a shimmer of a boisterous personality shine through. You could say from now on he’ll talk with strangers kind of like he’s been talking with Drake so far, except worse since he’ll be worse with her too??

alignment’s still locked to lawful despite it all tho hahaha. in fact he’s gotten far more lawful-aligned after all and is fairly well-grounded thanks to both gudao and gudako’s interactions with him. this will be updated in his app soon.
