Daminette December Day 4: ‘Gaming’
@daminette-december2019
To the surprise of his siblings, Damian was actually really good at gaming. For a person who’d never touched a gaming console until that very moment, Damian had beat all his other siblings at the game, and he was very pleased.
“hOW?” Dick groaned, watching as Damian smirked victoriously, having beat him in another round. “You’ve never touched a gaming console until today!”
“I know, right!” Tim yelled. “He’s never used this before! How did he beat all of us?!”
Jason was on the floor, staring emptily at space after he got his ass whooped for the thirtieth time.
“It’s alright, Jay-bird. I lost to Damian too.” Dick sighed defeatedly. “Is there anyone else we know who might beat Damian is video games?”
“Did I hear video games?”
All four boys looked up in the very instance, regardless of whatever they were doing.
“Mari!”
“Cupcake!’
“Nette!”
“Angel!”
All four boys scrambled up, eager to be the first one to hug the bluenette, who just arrived.
“Hey! Alfred let me in. Are you guys playing video games?” She asked, excitement sparkling in her bluebell eyes. “I’m a professional!”
“Then beat Damian! Which I don’t doubt you can do, actually.” Tim grinned. “There’s nothing Marinette can’t do when she sets her mind to it!”
A competitive glaze came over the bluenette’s eyes. “I’m up for the challenge.” She grinned, looking up at Damian. “What about you?”
“Are you sure you can beat me, angel?” Damian smirked, already picking up the console.
“We’ll see.” She smirked right back, setting down next to him, Tikki coming out of the bag to watch.
“So, goddess of creation, what are the odds of cupcake winning?” Jason asked, lingering over Mari’s shoulder.
“I’d say 99.99 percent!” The small kwami chirped proudly. “Marinette’s great at video games!”
It was a very tense five minutes, but within the first three minutes, Marinette had already gained a headstart and was halfway through with beating Damian, who was beginning to take the game more seriously when he realized that his angel wasn’t fooling around. The conclusion in the next two minutes was exactly as Tikki said- Damian only had a 0.01% of winning, which meant that Marinette won, and boy did his brothers rub that in his face.

Daminette December Day 19: ‘Mistletoe’
Daminette December Day 19: ‘Mistletoe’
[First of all, sorry I haven’t been active. I’ve been away from my laptop and my drafts ran out. Sowy… But here’s me rushing in two hours to finish like five days that I’ve missed :/)
@daminette-december2019
This’ll be a Hogwarts AU, but it’s not related to the ongoing one that I already have. This can be read on it’s own :-)
—
“Jason, don’t move.” Tim, decked out in his Hufflepuff robes, pointed his wand at his Gryffindor brother, murmuring a quick spell under his breath, only for Jason to be whacked in the face by a mistletoe.
Dick let loose a little chuckle as Jason swatted the levitating mistletoe away. The enchanted shrub kept attempting to attack the red-wearing Wayne until Tim finally ended the spell, making the shrub fall onto the floor.
“That’s it.” Jason groaned. “I’m not being the test subject anymore.”
Tim frowned, flipping through a few more pages of the book he found in the library. “Maybe this one’ll work?” He suggested thoughtfully, pointing at a page.
Jason slumped down on one of the couches, tired. “Why are we so keen on doing this spell, anyway?”
“So Demon spawn gets a chance, Jason.” Tim chastised. “Come on, you do want them to get together, don’t you?”
Jason tapped his wand against his knee thoughtfully. “I never thought one day I’d do a prank on Demon spawn to help him on with his love life.” He sighed. “Unbelievable. What would Jason from two years ago think?”
Dick rolled his eyes. “Come on. Between the three of us, we must be able to find a way.”
—
“Marinette!” Chloe Bourgeois groaned in the Slytherin Common Room. “You pricked me again.” The famous daughter of the rich Bourgeois family complained as her bluenette friend worked away at her dress with a needle.
“Oh, be quiet, Chloe.” Marinette hushed. “This dress has to be perfect for the Christmas Ball.” The few friends had been one of the few that stayed back for Christmas break, and they would be attending a little ‘ball’ that one of the elder students were hosting outside, by the lake.
Kagami stifled a smile at the blonde girl as she looked up from her charms’ textbook. Chloe pouted.
“Oh come on, ‘gami.” Chloe frowned. “It’s not funny- Ouch! Marinette!”
The bluenette giggled. “Sorry, sorry Chloe.” She stuck her tongue out in concentration, waving her wand, levitating a few other objects beside her as she furiously sewed the seam on Chloe’s beautiful silver dress for the Christmas Ball.
“Thanks for staying back with us, Chloe.” Kagami voiced out, smiling a little. “That was nice of you.” Chloe brushed her off.
“Christmas back at home isn’t that nice anyway.” Chloe thought briefly of the formal, stiff parties that were held. “Besides,” She let out a stiff smile. “I’d like to spend my Christmas where there are actually people that care about me.”
Kagami and Chloe shared a sad smile, thinking about their strict, Slytherin households.
“Alright, it’s Christmas.” Marinette scolded. “No thinking about sad things.” Marinette’s muggle parents were busy with a grand Christmas party that they had to organise all the way back in their hometown, France, and therefore, Marinette couldn’t go home.
“Guys! It’s lunch, you know.” The voice of the blonde boy perked up outside the Slytherin dormitory. “Hurry, I’m hungry.” The boy whined.
“I heard that the elves prepared pudding! I want some pudding, so can we go to the hall now? Please?” Another voice perked up beside the blonde’s.
Soft clattering footsteps descended the stairwell to reveal an annoyed Damian Wayne, who murmured the password as the door swung open. “Quiet, ‘puffs. I’m trying to study upstairs.”
“Damian!” Jon peeked out from behind Adrien, both dressed in similar yellow robes. “Mari, Chloe, Kagami, let’s go! Pudding!” He said ‘pudding’ as if it was the most obvious reason that they should be running to the hall.
“Alright, alright. Let me finish up a last seam and we’ll get going.” Marinette hushed. “Let me finish this.”
Damian rolled his eyes at the bluenette, knelt on the ground next to Chloe.
“Come on!” Adrien whined, entering the dormitory. On normal days, the other Slytherins would’ve narrowed their cold eyes at the entry of the Hufflepuffs, but at the moment, all of the Slytherins were home for Christmas- Except for a quiet first-year and her elder, fifth-year brother, Damian, Marinette, Chloe, and Kagami.
“I’m hungry, Mari.” Jon yapped. “I can already taste the pudding on my tongue!”
Damian swatted at his best friend playfully. “Quiet. Let her finish her work.”
“Done!” Marinette gasped proudly, Chloe squealing delightfully as she twirled a little with the silver dress.
“It’s perfect on you, Chloe.” Adrien complimented, Kagami nodding along in agreement. “Now can we go for lunch?”
Marinette clicked her tongue playfully at the blonde. “So impatient.”
“Oh yeah!” Jon suddenly said, remembering something. “Tim said he wanted to see you, Damian. At the library.”
The green-eyed boy rolled his eyes. “Right, at the library.” Whenever one of his brothers wanted to see him in the ‘library’, they actually meant the room of requirement. “I’ll meet you guys at the hall.” He grabbed his wand from where it sat at a nearby table, tucking it into his robes before he left the Slytherin dorm.
“Lunch!” Adrien remembered. “Let’s go!!!”
With a quick swish of her wand, Chloe changed her dress and her Slytherin robes, levitating the dress to hang over one of the cozy couches facing the lake.
“Come on then.” Marinette smiled, taking her friends’ arms in hers. “That pudding sounds delicious.”
—
“What is it, Drake?” Damian’s tone was bored as he was granted access to the room of requirement.
“There you are!” Tim greeted with a smile- Too bright of a smile. Something was wrong.
Damian narrowed his eyes, already drawing out his wand. Was it a prank? Probably.
“Come over here, Damian!” Dick called out cheerily- Excitedly. Not good.
The green-eyed Slytherin boy approached the table that his three brothers were gathered around. “What do you three want?” He narrowed his eyes, his wand held tight in his hand.
“Come on, Demon spawn.” Jason chuckled. “We all stay back in school because of you, the least you could do is…”
“Suspendat!” He caught Tim’s softly uttered spell, and to his immense shock, nothing happened. Before he could look around more clearly to find effect of the spell, another one was muttered.
Jason had his wand pointed at him, a devilish grin on his face as he uttered the spell: “Modo visibilis eius!”
Damian spun on his heels angrily, prepared to throw a jinx.
“Obliviscatur!” Dick finished the last spell, and the next thing he knew, he was leaving the room of requirement, muttering about how his brothers called him there for no reason, unaware about what they had done to him.
—
“It worked! It worked!” If Tim was ever this giddy about a spell, it was then. “Did you see it?” His grin was as wide as it could go, and the boy was literally jumping around as he beamed like Christmas came early (Technically there were still three days to go until the actual Christmas).
“We know, Tim.” Jason rolled his eyes. “I must say, I am impressed that it actually worked.”
Dick was squealing. “I really hope they-” He was squealing too much for them to catch the last part, but the other two brothers each knew what he meant.
“I really hope he doesn’t screw this up.” Jason sighed, eyeing the mountain of books that they had been pouring over to figure out a spell to get what they wanted. It had taken lots of experiments on both Jason and Dick (One of the experiments ended up with Jason having antlers coming out of his head. It wasn’t pretty. Another had maple sprouts growing out of Dick’s hair.) “I think this must be the highest number of books I’ve ever read in two hours.”
Dick collapsed on the chair, still grinning. “Let’s hope he takes the chance! Then we can all finally rest.” Tim nodded, agreeing as he conjured a couch and sank onto it.
Jason hesitated for a moment. “Do you think you could do it for me, too?”
—
“The pudding really is good!” Jon grinned as he munched happily on the pudding that the elves had prepared. “So good!”
“Don’t talk with your mouth full, Kent.” Chloe snorted. “At the Slytherin table, we all have manners, okay?”
Jon shrugged it off, continuing to eat as if he hadn’t been fed in months.
“Slow down, Jon.” Marinette giggled. “Same goes to you, Adrien.”
Kagami rolled her eyes. “Boys.” She said good-naturedly.
“Oh, there’s Damian!” Jon grinned, waving his arms. “We’re here!”
Damian rolled his eyes at his over-excited best friend, heading over to the table. Marinette blinked, staring at Damian from across the table.
“Um- Damian?” Marinette wanted to point it out, until she realised that literally no one else was seeing it.
Damian glanced up, waiting for her to speak.
She hesitated. “Never mind.” She replied, going back to her food with a confused mind.
“I bet that I have the best Christmas presents for all of you.” Jon declared suddenly, mouth still full of pudding.
Chloe snorted. “Are you sure you want to take that bet, Kent?”
Marinette sighed. “Not again. Not another bet.”
“I think Chloe’s got the best gifts!” Adrien pitched in. “I’m betting for Chloe!”
“Thanks, blondie.” Chloe smirked. “Do you want to rethink your choice, Clark?”
“I think Jon’s got the best presents.” Damian told her monotonedly, defending his best friend. “I’ll bet… Five knuts on it.”
“Come on, Wayne.” Kagami drawled with a bored expression. “Is five knuts all the trust you have on your best friend? I bet that Marinette has the best presents, sorry Chloe, six sickles.”
Chloe brushed her off. “None taken. I bet that Marinette has the best presents, nine sickles.”
“Five sickles on Mari!” Adrien added, munching on a chicken leg.
Jon pouted. “Come on!”
Damian glared at Kagami across the table. The girl only stared back with an equally fierce gaze.
“I’m sure you know this isn’t a bet you can win.” Kagami said breezily. “Sorry, Jon, but Mari’s got the best presents and you know it.”
“This isn’t the end of this, Tsurugi.” Damian bit back. The two had an ongoing rivalry, even though both shared almost all (Actually, all) their friends.
Marinette finally spoke, after pondering about whether or not to say anything for five minutes. “Damian, can I… Talk to you, for a second?” She glanced at her friends. “Alone.” Ignoring the ‘ooo’s and the raising of eyebrows, the both got up and turned into a quieter corridor (Although it was already pretty quiet out, almost everyone went home).
“Um…” Marinette kept looking above his head, and he couldn’t for the life of him figure out why. He looked up, too, but he couldn’t see anything. “There… There’s a…” She blushed. “A mistletoe. On your head.”
He couldn’t see it. She stepped a little closer to him, reaching upwards, and then a little jingling sounded in the air. He watched as it materialised, moving from above his head to between the both of them. There must’ve been less than a foot of distance between them.
“There’s a mistletoe.” He pointed out. Stupid, he berated himself inside. You pointed out the obvious, idiot.
Marinette blushed, looking at the ground as if it was the most interesting thing. “Y- Yeah.” It had briefly occurred to her what might happen, but… Perhaps a tiny bit of her conscience wanted to kiss Damian Wayne under a mistletoe.
“Tradition’s tradition, isn’t it?” He blushed. “And we’re Slytherins, we’re all about tradition.”
She blushed. “Yeah.”
She was tip-toed to reach his lips, catching him a little off-guard as her cherry-flavoured chapstick smeared slightly on his pale, chapped lips. When they stepped back for a breath, her face blossomed all in red, and she squealed a little before turning to run. He caught her arm, smiling softly at her bluebell eyes and her tinted cheeks.
“Since I haven’t asked anyone…” He cleared his throat. “Would you go to that… Um… That stupid Christmas Ball thing that Jason’s planning… Would you go with me?” Congratulations, Damian. You’ve stuttered at least three times in the same sentence.
Marinette squealed and hid her face in her black robes. He chuckled, prying her face up gently.
“Please don’t leave me waiting for an answer.” He told her softly. “I’m about to have a heart attack.”
“Y-Yeah.” She squeaked out. “I’ll love to go with you.”
He allowed himself a little smile, and he pressed a soft kiss to her hand, looking up at her underneath his black bangs. Across the corridor, he caught a glimpse of Jason dipping Roy Harper in a kiss, a similar mistletoe hanging above the two red-heads.
He smiled, shaking his head. Thank god for giving him the chance of being with the precious bluenette that he was holding.
Thank god for the mistletoe.
