2012-2015 era of the internet wasnt great but at least taking random pictures and videos of people without their knowledge or permission was frowned upon and not as common as it is today
#it still happened! but it was rare and often people would ask for permission or it would be about proof of people committing atrocities or#something not like silly things#tiktok has ruined so much of the internet cause randomly filming people is one of the top trends on that godforsaken app#i was gonna say 2017 but thats when i remember certain youtubers becoming more popular#like it also did happen in 2012-2015 a lot like youtubers filming strangers but it wasnt as popular as it is now and it was either frowned#upon or excused if they were doing a kind deed and the idea is they usually got permission from what we thought anyway
