Short Background; Mary was born in 1960 and was the only child of parents Richard Macdonald and his wife Elizabeth Macdonald (nee Avery).

In 1978 she married Sirius [Orion] Black III, The two had their first daughter Polaris Andromeda Black in 1980 and then Vespera Mary Black in 1981.

Today I give you a little love letter to our Stars Without Number campaign - specifically this gorgeous emotional scene between @thesheepthewolf s Gem and Tijn’s NPC Hynna. For good measure I also added bunch of other sketches I made for our space nerds, including the ones played by @lian.1013 and @jnvamusic, that I love but continuously forget to post. 🪐🚀

More anchovies 😋🐟

Sunday morning we had a sleep-in. We’d been quite looking forward to a cruisy day. I got one, Jose didn’t. We got a message from Marjolein while we were enjoying our coffee in bed, about meeting up for a swim. Given we don’t have much time left here this year we hauled ourselves out of bed to meet them.

The water is certainly getting chilly. Marjolein and I both wore neoprene but the boys braved the cold water. It was a nice swim with us all pretty much staying together as we headed around the island. There were loads of fish including a couple of schools of sardines. They must know there’s a festival on in their honour 😂

Back at the beach we enjoyed a relaxed breakfast together joined by their sons, Luuk and Tijn. It was then that Martijn suggested he and Jose head out for an afternoon ride. Martijn has had to miss the last few gravel group rides so given it may be their last chance for this year, Jose agreed.

After breakfast we went to the market to buy some fruit and salad vegies and then headed home so Jose could get ready for his ride. It was also high time we had a hot shower to warm up.

For me a chilled rest of the day doing a few bits and pieces in the apartment. Jose enjoyed his ride with Martijn.

Once Jose was home and showered we walked over to Reills to pick up a hire car for tomorrow. We then went into town to meet up with Marjolein, Martijn and the boys to check out some more of the tapas. A fun night!

Monday was an early start as I was attending a first aid course in Palafrugell. It was organised by the U3A and yes it was in English. Jose drove me there and then killed the time with a drive and some emails until my course finished.

For lunch we headed to Calella de Palafrugell. This is the Calella where we thought we may end up living. It is lovely but happy we ended up in L’Escala. We had a nice lunch in a restaurant called Calau, that did all pinchos. It was a bit like yum cha because they kept coming around with other things to try. At the end they count up the sticks and plates and that’s how you’re charged. The food was great.

It was now time to get on with why we’d hired the car. We drove back to the port where our storage unit is and emptied it out for this year. With all the bags, etc back in the unit leaving us starting to look very real.

After we’d dropped the car off we walked back via 3 bars where we tried out their tapas. It was a really mild night and very pleasant. Back home we watched some Spanish tv with nibbles and wine.
