On The Road Again 2024
Due to heavy workload as of today: On the road again … (Lichtenberg Castle near Oberstenfeld, Baden Württemberg, Germany).
Feeling how the landscape breathes the early summer evening.

rb's Free Rider's Motorcycle Memories (2 / oo)
On the Route des Grandes Alpes (Maritime Alps, France) – and some thoughts on the age of 60
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
First picture: Me and my Triumph Tiger Sport 1050 on a pass on the Route des Grandes Alpes towards Nice via Valley of Isere (Val d'Isere): Col d'Allos.
With my type of motorcycle clothing 8-) , it was also possible to hike up to the managed lake d'Allos (Lac d'Allos) without any problems. It's about 30 minutes (one way) from the parking lot further up, which is subject to a fee in the high season. The path runs partly on a rocky track next to the meandering stream bed. The path is marked with information boards explaining the formation of the stream and the peculiarities of the lake and its surroundings.
However, I don't want to give a description of the Maritime Alps (discover them for yourself!), but rather make a few comments on how traveling by motorcycle has changed for me with age.
So, let's go back to the first picture: A good 10 years ago in a somewhat freer and simpler world (also for motorcyclists): less complicated, less regulated, more light-hearted than today.
When I was younger, I wished the journey would take forever, and I could well imagine living in this fantastic mountain world: right on the spot, so to speak, without the tedious approach route of hundreds of kilometers.
The latter is still the case today, although in view of developments in Europe, the question arises as to whether I am far enough away there from growing madness …
In the early years, I also savored the trip to the hilt and always returned well after midnight or in the early morning, usually in pouring rain.
Nowadays, at the beginning of my 6th decade of life, it's the growing feeling: "I'm here and it's still nice, the routes are still fantastic to ride; I've seen a lot again and also new things, but now it's also good to go home again". Today I usually stay overnight again on the route back - due to my age. One positive aspect of getting older is that the feeling of being back home becomes stronger. By "home" I mean the people and the landscape: the environment in which I grew up. People and landscape are interwoven in a special, almost mysterious way; a realization that takes time.
The last two pictures: So I usually come back in the early evening nowadays. If the weather is not too bad, I take off my luggage and immediately cycle up a few more 10 kilometers to our "small" mountain and forest landscape here; in good weather bathed in the almost golden light of the evening sun in late summer and early autumn. And I am enjoying our narrow mountain roads through our mixed forests, our green meadows and our gentle to rugged (steep) slopes of the vineyards.
Here it is the south of Baden-Württemberg, Germany, not the "far" south of europe. It is not the fantastic mountain and rock world of the Alps with its (drivable!) passes up to over 2700 m altitude, its deeply carved gorges, its mountain lakes and streams, its alpine farming areas, its often grotesque and "dangerously" narrow roads, with their different people, their slightly different way of life. (You see, I'm already starting to miss that again.)
But it's my home and it feels good to be back.
And to get ready again for the next trip.
(Tanslated from German with DeepL - free version.)

Apresentado no Salão Duas Rodas, o ADV 150 pega carona no sucesso do irmão maior, X-ADV 750.

Ducati
A Ducati vai atualizar a Panigale V4S.

Woods’ resurgence at the Masters is as miraculous as it is welcome
This is how much America is willing to win Tiger Woods at Augusta. The chance that he would wear the green jacket every fifth time was almost halved after a shot. Only one chance.
The moment Woods sent his way to the center of the hole, known as Tea Olive, America called his bookie
Not those on the job. The customers, as they are known, are not allowed cell phones or contact with the outside world. There are sects with looser agreements about coming home than the Masters organizations.
Tiger Woods enjoyed an impressive opening round of the Masters,

But beyond these green parameters, on the couch, at the office, everywhere with a connection with a screen, a tracker and a source of disposable income, money changed ownership.
Big money, judging by the price shift.
Tiger Woods: I have moved crowds, I have moved markets. He's the man because they never get to tell him.
Here's how American gambling works. The price of Woods when the market opened was +1600. That is what a gambler would win for a bet of one hundred dollars. It is our equivalent of 16/1.
So Woods arrived on the first tee at +1600, hit a shot and was cut to +1050. From the second, after he had made a birdie, he was +850 – or a British 17/2. There were 70 holes left, of a possible 72.
<img id = "i-5abb069313ecb01" src = "https://dailym.ai/2CXoYdR /11/19/12161040-0-image-a-14_1555008863007.jpg "height =" 423 "width =" 634 "alt =" Woods looks at its chip from the bunker on the second hole during the opening phase "class =" blkBorder img -share

If Woods is, as many believe, he is a man of the world , returning not only for years but decades, it pays to be an early adopter. By the time I made back-to-back birdies at 13 and 14, Woods was three substandard and equal for the lead.
He later gave one back, but the significance of his round on Thursday cannot be overestimated. To start with, there is the fact that the last 13 winners of this tournament were in the top 10 at the end of a day;
Woods played Augusta 21 times as a professional and only once, in 2010, did he shoot under 70 on Thursday.
His score on Thursday mimicked the three laps of 70 that each ended in a Masters victory in 1997, 2001 and 2002; his last green jacket, in 2005, started with a round of 74.
Woods is now a year back, but 12 months ago he came to Augusta, still unsure of his game, his skeleton and where he could grab him. He knows it now.
Tigerhead cover as he made his way
Tiger headgear his way around
He cannot say he will ever be the player he was – because he was a player like no other – or that he will again win a major;
They are all worried about wanting to compete with Woods again. Now they can. Be careful what you wish for.
Here was Woods, back in the chair, hit the ball and straight and true, drew justified bites from an informed gallery, not the fake of people who think it's possible to make geddinahole from the tee of a par five.
He hardly missed a channel through the first 13 holes, hardly missed. the heart of one, in fact, and was often the tallest in his group. Often the bravest.
Woods not only played Augusta, he also took it, as he did in his prime, and the buzz grew around him, as did his gallery.

Woods searches for the green of the bunker after hitting a quirky approach shot after hitting a quirky approach shot
Golf, we are often told, is not a young man's game, but Woods is an icon for young people, and the ld. As he strode past, in the lanky, the rigid g ang of a man whose rebuilt back is an achievement as big as his 14 majors, there was a noticeably youthful presence who tried to attract his attention from behind the ropes
& # 39; All those high school kids were working here, & # 39; a patron noted to his friend, & # 39; if they don't work, they'll follow Tiger & # 39; s ass. & # 39; And why not? On Thursday, if you could get a picture, it was the donkey to follow.
There was always something going on around. Birdies, birdie putts, some great golf, short bursts of aversion to occasional shortcomings. And drama. The drama of watching one of the giants of sport – not just golf – trying to reconnect with its past.
He played a bunker shot on seven that was perfect as he could, without dropping, I made two birdies that started his most loose blows from the tee. & # 39; No, no, no, & # 39; he muttered at nine, leaking away half the rough one; but he was so good.
At 14 I missed the fairway terribly left – there were screams from the front to warn the crowd – but escaped the trees with so much panache that I had a 25 foot putt for birdie.
Others in the field may be younger, fitter, may never have seen the end emerge like Woods did two years ago, but they don't know these greens when He does.
The popular American recognizes the crowd on Augusta's 18th green on Thursday of Augusta on Thursday "
<img id = "i-ec5e2522e6ede871" src = "https://dailym.ai/2OTvk2r /04/11/21/12165174-6913243-image-a-27_1555014945478.jpg "height =" 423 "width =" 634 "alt =" As always, the clients died in their droves for Woods & # 39; last hunt for the "In their droves to follow Woods & # 39; last hunt for the green jacket"
As always, the patrons came around Woods & # 39; last hunt for the green jacket
The successful birdie-putt stroked every contour, just as sweet as any old flame.
Missing in the Right Place If you can stay in touch for the next 48 hours, no one will know better what it takes to win here. That is the key to Augusta.
On the 15th, Woods started shouting through the green to his dismay. He had measured a landing area in feet. Too long, and the ball can roll and end up in the water; too short and he would again face the same danger. Woods was short, but in a way that he could manage. There are some advantages to being 43.
He gave one back on the 17th. That was a shame.
Woods got straight from the tee, played a solid escape shot, but was too green and bogeyed. It gave him a head start.
Sand on the 18th tee, but I also recovered from it. I would have bought this when I arrived here, without a doubt. Certainly, I would have bought it when I was thinking about retirement two years ago.
America also buys it. Buy Tiger. Buy the legend. Buy the resurrection. Buy the possibility of great. Buy, buy, buy.

TRIUMPH
Tumblr media
The story
The history of traditional TRIUMPH began in the city of London in 1884 with the German Siegfried Bettmann, newly arrived in the country. The businessman, who until then marketed sewing machines, was impressed by the increase in the bicycle fleet in that country and decided to join this new business. Initially the bicycles were marketed under the name of Bettmann. In 1886, he joined engineer Mauritz Johann Schulte to found the TRIUMPH CYCLE COMPANY, and started producing his own bikes. The German entrepreneur gave the name of TRIUMPH to the bicycles that he sold, being easy to assimilate throughout Europe. Only in 1889 the company moved to the city of in the city of Coventry. In 1902, with the evolution of technology, began production of motorcycles. These models were primitive by today's standards: the two-wheeled vehicle was nothing more than a bike with a reinforced structure, equipped with an internal combustion engine of the Belgian manufacturer Minerva, with 2.25 horsepower, installed in the front from the board. TRIUMPH considers this year its foundation. Only three years later TRIUMPH started manufacturing its own engines. In 1907 the brand already produced 1,000 units per year.
The brand quickly gained popularity for one reason: in the midst of Fordism, while engineers from other manufacturers worried about large-scale production, Mauritz Schulte, who was responsible for the company's engineering, sought to develop and develop new mechanisms for motorcycles. This policy, in a few years, enabled the launch of other models of excellent quality and modern technologies for the time, such as the pedal. During World War I, the British government assigned to TRIUMPH the mission to equip the British army and allied forces. From 1914 to 1918, 30,000 H model motorcycles were produced, carrying soldiers on the battlefields. Once the conflict was over, the great economic depression came, and the 1920s were not easy for the automaker. For that reason, it began to produce "popular" motorcycles, like the Model P, that had 494 displacements and it only cost £ 42. With a popular price, sales grew and 20 thousand units of this model were sold. In 1929 the German subsidiary is sold and in 1930 Siegfried Bettmann is pressed to leave the company's command. Also this year is produced the small model X, two-stroke. During this period of its history, TRIUMPH began to manufacture even automobiles, which divided the company into Triumph Motor Co. (automobiles) and Triumph Cycle Co. (motorcycles).
In 1937, under the command of Jack Sangster, the motorcycle division launched a model that would become a true icon years later: the Speed Twin, also known as Tiger 100. This motorcycle reached 160 km / h, a fact that Honda, for In 1969, the CB 750. During World War II, once again, the British government ordered almost all motorcycles produced by the brand and, despite the Coventry factory, had been destroyed in the Nazi 1941, production continued during the war, first in temporary facilities in Warwick, and later in a new factory in Meriden, a city located in central England. Until 1945 more than 50,000 motorcycles were produced and supplied to the army. The durability of the models on the battlefields was undisputed. The 1940s also marked TRIUMPH's entry into the United States, something that occurred after the Americans were impressed by the performance of the Speed Twin (T100). Although well received by Europeans and Americans, the brand's motorcycles only gained fame in 1953 when the two-cylinder Thunderbird model (launched in 1950) was piloted by Marlon Brando in the film The Wild of 1953. Two other films immortalized the brand on screen: Fleeing from Hell (1963) with Steve McQueen and Mission Impossible 2 (2000) with Tom Cruise.
During the 1950s, England dominated the world motorcycle market with several famous models, including TRIUMPH BONNEVILLE (introduced in 1959), and was known to be piloted by actor Steve McQueen in the film Fugindo do Inferno. This model has become an icon of the British brand. The story of this legendary model began in 1954, when rider Johnny Allen hit the speed record on a motorcycle. On board the prototype of a 649-horsepower T110, it hit an impressive 343 km / h on the Bonneville Salt Flats track. Five years later, TRIUMPH added a dual carburetor to the T110 and fine-tuned the engine. It was born in this way the most famous motorcycle of the brand in all times, the T120, which was baptized BONNEVILLE, commemorating the feat of Allen.
In 1969, TRIUMPH reached the peak of production, with approximately 46,800 units manufactured per year. In the 1970s, as well as other UK brands, such as Norton, BSA and AJS, the company suffered heavy competition from Japanese motorcycles, which culminated in a serious financial crisis, causing TRIUMPH to terminate its activities in 1983. Seven years later, at the Birmingham Hall, English pride was restored with the return of the brand to the market. This was only possible because John Bloor, a real estate entrepreneur, had taken over the company and decided to relaunch the TRIUMPH brand. No oil stains in the garage: the new bikes were as beautiful, modern, efficient and reliable as a good Japanese. Upon resurgence, the brand began with models ranging from 750 cm³ to 1,200 cm³, and used the same frame and modular motors. These were cost-containment measures that were acceptable for a brand starting from scratch. In 1997 they were introduced to Daytona (whose name is an allusion to the "24 Hours of Daytona," one of the most traditional and disputed motor racing events in the United States every year) and Speed Triple, which indicated the TRIUMPH decision of compete with the Japanese in the territory of powerful super sports.
In 2001 a new step was taken with the launch of BONNEVILLE AMERICA, equipped with a 800 cm³ twin-cylinder engine, destined for the busy American market. After decades of practically ostracism, in recent years TRIUMPH has changed radically. Featuring a series of technically advanced products, the British have managed to rival major competitors in all categories. The best example of this is the Daytona 675, which has won several comparatives around the world against (until then unbeatable) Japanese.
With specialized publications showing the dynamic qualities and resellers offering economic attractions, customers became interested and brand sales began to grow. One of the models of this "new generation" is the Tiger 1050. This maxitrail also adhered once and for all to the "new" trend of the segment, that is, virtually renounced any off-road ability to focus solely on 100% on-road. If this may displease those who do not give up stretches of land on their walks, anyone who uses the bike only on asphalt (by the way, the majority) has no reason to complain.
After closing its partnership with the Izzo group in 2010, which represented it in Brazil, the English brand recently invested R $ 19 million in the construction of a factory in Manaus, in a distribution center in Louveira, in the interior of São Paulo, and the opening of a small network of dealers to market more than six models of its line, as well as clothing and accessories. In addition to England and Thailand, Manaus is the 3rd place in the world to have a TRIUMPH assembly line.

NFL Fantasy Rookie Rundown: Michel, Gallup could soon become starting staples
Tumblr media
Baker Mayfield was the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft, but slow playing him for fantasy purposes is suggested. (AP Photo/Phil Long)
After breaking down my top-five rookie fantasy impacts for the upcoming season, here are 13 guys who are very much in contention to unseat those ranked above (READ HERE) to stake their weekly claim in owner starting lineups:
[Yahoo Fantasy Football leagues are open: Sign up now for free]
Sony Michel, NE, RB (Early ADP: 56.7, RB20) – The Georgia thoroughbred just missed my top five, but he’s definitely deserving of a mid-round fantasy selection given the delectable situation. No shock, New England sports a crowded backfield. Rex Burkhead and James White will again have defined roles. However, Michel could be what LeGarrette Blount was previously in Foxboro, a fierce downhill big rig employed often inside the red zone. Final numbers in range of 950-1050 combined yards with 5-7 TDs feels attainable.
Michael Gallup, Dal, WR (170.3, WR66) – Devoid of excitement at WR after Dez Bryant was kicked to the curb, Dallas obviously had to score a starter-level wideout in the Draft. And Jerry Jones snagged a good one. Gallup is route technician with the size and efficiency to deliver fruitful first-year value. He dominated in press coverage with Colorado St., snared 61.4 percent of his intended targets and gained an appreciable 6.6 yards after contact per completion last season. Since 45.1 percent of the ‘Boys’ target share is available sans Dez and Jason Witten, Gallup could conceivably tally a line north of 65 receptions, 1,000 yards with 5-7 TDs. I firmly believe he’s this year’s JuJu Smith-Schuster.
Anthony Miller, Chi, WR (184.4, WR73) – Adding Trey Burton, Allen Robinson and Miller this offseason, The Bears’ revamped receiving corps is no longer gummy in nature. The Memphis product is precise in his routes, versatile and tough in traffic. His 7.4 YAC per completion and 64.0 catch percentage from 2017 definitely jumps off the screen. Enticing roughly 18-20 percent of the targets share is believable this year. If Mitch Trubisky takes a step forward and Matt Nagy’s high-octane offense transfers seamlessly from Kansas City, the youngster could notch an output around 60-800-5.
Nick Chubb, Cle, RB (56.2, RB19)– The sobbing you hear is that of Carlos Hyde lovers. Chubb’s arrival signals a value suck for the recently acquired veteran. Last year, the Georgia star silenced productivity questions after suffering a gnarly knee injury the season before. He’s balanced, incredibly dependable, patient, disciplined and powerful, as his 3.77 YAC/attempt and 25.1 missed tackle percentage from 2017 suggest. In a split backfield, he should crank out occasional flexy sexy lines in a suddenly galvanic Cleveland offense.
D.J. Moore, Car, WR (115.7, WR43) – Moore received a ringing endorsement from Panthers great Steve Smith on Draft night and for good reason. He’s an inside/outside combo high-motor receiver who attacks off the line, in traffic and at catch zenith. His 91st percentile SPARQ score also denotes his ridiculous athleticism. Cam Newton would overthrow the Hulk on a simple slant route, but if the QB discovers even a hint of touch, Moore could wind up in the 12-team WR3 file come year’s end.
Baker Mayfield, Cle, QB (136.8, QB23) – When a man rocks the Brett Favre jorts so hard it’s necessary to give him an overall profile boost. Mayfield doesn’t showcase the bazooka of the old gunslinger, but he’s a wonderfully accurate all-fields thrower who should carve a path to stardom. Yes, in Cleveland. Last year with the Sooners, he ranked at or near the top in every imaginable completion percentage category. That combined with his immense swagger and formidable arsenal (Josh Gordon, Jarvis Landry, Corey Coleman, Duke Johnson, Carlos Hyde, Nick Chubb, David Njoku) say he could easily graduate from the stream ranks once he overtakes Tyrod Taylor.
Courtland Sutton, Den, WR (88.9, WR33) – My top prospect at wide receiver entering the Draft, Sutton didn’t land in the most exploitative environment. Still, he shouldn’t be ignored in redraft formats. Demaryius Thomas’ documented struggles inside the 20 and with Emmanuel Sanders functioning mostly outside of that range, the towering 6-foot-3 Sutton may develop into Case Keenum’s favorite red-zone weapon. His quicks off the jump, wide catch radius and terrific athletic profile arrow to multiple future Pro Bowls. As the third option, his receptions and yardage total may suffer in his debut season, but don’t be shocked if he sets the pace in TD receptions (5-7?) for the Broncos.
Kerryon Johnson, Det, RB (115.9, RB37) – Adios, Ameer Abdullah. Johnson and LeGarrette Blount’s arrival probably spells the end for the veteran as a meaningful contributor. The former Auburn Tiger isn’t a master blaster by any stretch (2.90 YAC/att in ’17), but he’s a shifty glider, superb pass blocker and trustworthy receiver. His touchdowns will presumably be few and far between with Blount locked into a goal-line role and Theo Riddick limits his PPR upside, however, he should be occasional FLEX useful in deeper formats netting 10-12 touches per game.
Calvin Ridley, Atl, WR (99.5, WR38) – The read on Ridley is very attractive. He owns a stellar second gear, generates appreciable yards after the catch and is an accomplished route runner deep, middle or short. Unfortunately, he’s isn’t in the most desirable location. Julio Jones is a targets vacuum and Matt Ryan trusts Mohammad Sanu most near the goal-line. Though he’ll log a few highlight plays, they’ll be sporadic. In his first pro effort, it’s hard to see him surpassing 45-650-4.
Christian Kirk, Ari, WR (123.8, WR50) – Speed, acceleration, quickness – Kirk is a menace in the open field whether as a receiver or returner. He’s most comfortable out of the slot (63.4 catch% in ’17), a position Larry Fitzgerald currently hogs, but Arizona apparently buys he could play outside as well until Fitz hangs it up. He’ll undoubtedly flash at some point, however, a final WR top-50 total probably isn’t in the cards this year.
Mike Gesicki, Mia, TE (171.4, TE21) – An athletic marvel with superhero hops, Gesicki, like Evan Engram last year, could buck the conventional “avoid rookie TEs at all costs” wisdom. Looking at his various attributes, you couldn’t create a more perfect matchup nightmare. DeVante Parker, Kenny Stills and Danny Amendola will be Ryan Tannehill’s primary weapons, but Gesicki is sure to entice between 80-90 targets this season. If it all comes together, a TE top-15 finish is doable.
Lamar Jackson, Bal, QB (138.3, QB24) – Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold have a much stronger likelihood of starting Week 1 by comparison, each with stream upside, but no rookie displays more fantasy potential than Jackson. If he can somehow overthrow fantasy albatross Joe Flacco, who’s only “elite” in robbing banks, a scoring bonanza is bound to commence. Before you go DEF/K with your last two picks, stash the former Heisman winner in deeper leagues. The door of opportunity swings open and he’s Deshaun Watson the sequel. Outside of Mayfield, he’s arguably the deadliest under pressure passer coming into the league.
John Kelly, LAR, RB (140.2, RB43) – Eyeing a lottery ticket in Grand Canyon-deep leagues? Look no further than the former Tennessee Volunteer. Stolen in Round 6 by Sean McVay and Friends, Kelly is one of fantasy’s ultimate insurance policies. He’s a compact (5-foot-10, 216-pounds), versatile asset with the hands, power through contact, vision and shiftiness to rain down numbers in the pros. Watch his tape against Georgia Tech in the Chick-fil-A Bowl and you’ll agree. Todd Gurley is the unrivaled Clydesdale in L.A., but if for some unfortunate reason he’s felled by a significant injury, Kelly would instantaneously become a borderline RB1 on a Super Bowl contending team. Tuck his name in your back pocket.
