Ms. Casey knew she needed to give an assessment from her previous visit to Ms. Cobel, and, typically, it had never been an issue. The process was simple, efficient, and stream-lined as to not take up any extra time from anyone's schedules, as well as increase productivity for the employee Ms. Casey was treating. Truthfully, despite meaning she was awake for a far shorter amount of time than her fellow severed counterparts, Ms. Casey truly adored the treatments. Seeing the employees find joy in the simple factoids she offers genuinely enlightens her...

And yet, for some reason, that day had taken its toll on her.

Something in her gut twisted as she began to speak about the patient's outie's family, and she hadn't been able to shake the feeling. Perplexed far more than she was aware she'd ever been, she found herself hyper-fixating on the sensation once she was alone again. Certainly, if her own outie had a family, she'd never know. After all, she was the only person to offer Outie Facts, not to mention was the only employee in the Wellness Center.

So why did it bother her so much?

The only thing that had managed to shake her from her thoughts was a gentle yet firm tone calling her name.

"Ms. Cobel-"

As she raised to her feet to turn to her superior, she lifted her finger to delicately wipe away the tears that streaked her cheeks and were threatening to fall from her eyes.

"My apologies, Ms. Cobel. I was just reviewing what was discussed with Joseph P. before I came to speak with you." Ms. Casey was quick to duck her head, uncertain of just how badly she had messed up. "I hadn't realized how long I had been. I'm so sorry."
