God I love writing paragons. Good Intentions McGee out here absolutely trampling over his friends' feelings out of the wholeheartedly sincere desire to do the right thing. Characters whose virtues are also their vices is just *chef's kiss*

#dolphin noises #a cookie to anyone who can tell who I'm talking about 😅#ten cookies if you can guess which fic I was writing that got me feeling this way #specifically a 2hcb1 scene where kid!asbel realizes he kinda neglected his current friends while trying to help his new one #a sign of immaturity sure that he's so distractable and gets carried away and doesnt think things through #but. he also does the same thing to Richard near the end of the story so he clearly learned nothing #ok that's not fair he definitely learned to think through the consequences of his actions by then #but he does them anyway because it's the right thing to do and SOMEONE should do it but no one else is going to because no one else can #thus breaking Richard's heart who firmly believes Asbel is going to die trying #paragons are fucking delicious man don't let anyone tell you they're boring they are capable of So Much Consequences
