When she had committed to a life that was never ending she was happy, she was supposed to be with the one person that she thought understood her. Years later she was going on about her existence but without the jubilance she thought she would have. She did continue with the plan, moving from town to town every so often to not raise suspicion, don’t get attached to others even if flings could now happen. What she hadn’t expected was to walk into a bar and see the one person she hated most. She laughed at the irony. She had already ordered a drink, had already sent over one Thumper’s way just her way of saying that she knew it was him. Smirking she felt the bit of anger and resentment rise in her. “I’m petty as fuck,” she admitted more to herself than to Thumper now that they were near each other. “I hope you never fall in love again” she spat as she walked past him toward the dance floor. Dancing a bit, her body moving to the beat she still couldn’t stop thinking of how his eyes were probably on her when she wasn’t looking.

Isaiah leans back, taking his drink with him, and swallows a mouthful of bourbon. He’s a touch young to be drinking something so hard with practiced ease, but he started early. 

“So I can find my brother.” He says, simply, as though that explains it all. As far as he’s concerned, it does. “...and so I can tell him what happened wasn’t his fault.”

"who knew you could be such a sap?" she's kidding ( mostly ), but she really did appreciate thumper being there for her, no matter what. despite her own frequent disappearing acts now and there, thumper still made time to check on her whenever they were in the same area.

a hint of a smile pulled at one corner of her lips before her head tipped sideways to bump against his shoulder affectionately, her voice softening all the while.

He would admit under duress that Sonny’s Bar and Grill could stand in for Harvelle’s Roadhouse if one had an eye ripped out.  “I can’t ever tell with you…” Sam motioned at Thumper with his beer. “Are you out of the game, or are you going to end up six feet under like the rest of us?” An exhausted huff of breath. 

“You’re more of a wild card than I am.”

Their eyes are sad. Above all else, their eyes are sad. Pale blue and filled with a blank, heedless mourning for something unsaid. When they speak, their voice is soft, as it always is. “Something bad.” 

Not much of an explanation, no, but after a moment’s pause, they add...

he’s usually not one to . . like being told what to do. the words hang so heavy that they make him wary , marked with suspicion. he’s choosing to take it as a warning, not a threat. he had to weigh his choices still : go out there and ignore the warning or stay. but what happens if he heeds the warning? “ what’s gonna happen if I go out there ? “

unbelievable, “you’re doing it again.” a shallow breath leaving her lips along with a faint laugh. it was amazing how they kept going in circles and yet they still somehow are attached to each other. not one stepping away. “i don’t know understand how you’re going to keep shutting me out when i proven to you time and time again that i’m not going anywhere.” davina may have been the same way. but that night where she was incredibly injured, she lost the care of holding pitty anger. high walls that she knew would crumble down for him. “why do you have to be so fucking stubborn?”

“i would say i’m pretty confident.” lies. sonny may play the part of not caring about what she appears to others, especially as someone on the other end of the camera, but her breakup did take a toll on her confidence. always losing and not being good enough. it was hard for her to even be confident. “yeah, i’m confident.” / @thumprking

“  i don’t care how willing you are to die for me.  i want you to fucking live with me.  live for us.  ” 

"When are you going to get that you can't say that and then go off and not live for me." Her eyes welled up with tears at how quickly she said the words. As much happiness as she could bring into Thumper's life no amount of love could just magically cure someone who had endured so much. No amount of love could take away some curiosity he had of the life his mother tried to protect him from, but there were times when she resented everything. There were times when she wondered if he was on some sort of mission to hurt himself all without a care about her. "I don't want to put myself in that situation but you're not doing this alone." The cliched you jump I jump on the tip of her tongue she looked down. "Can't we just live for each other?" She pulled herself closer to him, as if wanting to melt into him because of how much love she held in her body for just him. "I'm sorry," words that she found herself rarely saying. Words that were harder to swallow than the lump in her throat that had formed. "Just hold me," she demanded making him wrap his arms around her.
