#throwback tuesday to the time I watched four seasons of French “The Voice” back-to-back and then forgot to turn on the subtitles

this is gonna be fun
So, my second one (English) was mandatory, because that's how it goes in Germany.
I picked my third one (Latin) because I didn't want to do French (I'm shit at enunciating anyway, I don't think French would've done me any favors) and I also like history. I was always shit at it but I'm also currently finishing up a masters degree in Medieval Latin, so... oops, lol
I "picked" my fourth one (Spanish) because I had to pick a fourth one and wasn't offered an alternative. Unfortunately I was also mentally deeply befuckened at the time and remember none of it. Though I picked some of it back up accidentally by falling down a Juan Gabriel rabbit hole???
I picked my fifth one (Italian) because it was the one I was most confident about not getting a shit grade in (college wanted a Living, Non-English additional language with certifications), because I somehow gained some comprehension skills through osmosis and several hyperfixations. Also I end up in Italy a lot more than in any of the spanish-speaking countries.
I also dabble in a sixth (Esperanto, because I majored (and minored I guess) in linguistics and am a nerd about conlangs) and seventh (Mandarin; fell down a c-drama rabbit hole and got invested) language occasionally, but that's on my own time and honestly just masochism or something, idk.
Mind you, I'm kinda shit at all the languages I have ever touched and I forget stuff again even faster than I pick it up; I just think languages are neat and I figure it never hurts to know something about the way other folks talk.
