tickles for when yur sick/feelin icky っ◞ ﻌ ◟ς
my stupid big bruder has dis new old habit of playin doctor wif me..
like checkin reflexes an sayin how the t-word is soo important for my health
i love hate it
(bubbie knows how much ive always feared doctors an avoid em, especially when it comes to shots an strong smells.. so i fink dis is kinda his way of comfortin an showin me dat not all doctors are scary, an none of em are designed to hurt me.. i wuv him)
anyways, here’s a scenario story thingy inspired by it:
The room is quiet except for the hum of an old heater and the rustle of blankets as I burrow deeper into my makeshift cocoon. Sick days are supposed to be restful, but my “doctor” has other plans. He leans over, stethoscope in hand—an actual one, from who knows where—and mutters somethin about checkin my reflexes.
I groan, already suspicious.
He gently pokes at my side, and I squeak involuntarily. “Ah-ha,” he says, with mock seriousness. “Reflexes are still sharp. Good sign.”
“St-stop!” I squirm, but I’m smilin now, even if my stuffy nose makes it harder to breathe. His fingers dance along my ribs like they have a mind of their own, “examinin” every ticklish spot they can find.
“It’s important for your health!” he insists, ignorin my half-hearted protests as I wriggle under his grip.
He doesn’t stop, of course. He never does when I’m laughin like this, even when I’m breathless and weak from bein sick. His hands shift to my tummy, givin it the lightest scribbles that somehow feel the worst.
“See? Tummy’s all jumpy. Definitely a sign of improvement,” he teases, grinnin like he’s cracked some groundbreakin medical discovery.
“Y-you’re the worst doctor ever!” I manage between giggles, kickin weakly at the blankets, which only traps me more.
“Worst?” he gasps dramatically, pressin a hand to his chest as if I’ve wounded him. “I’ll have you know I graduated top of my class in tickle-ology.”
I whine through a laugh, half-buryin my face in the pillow to muffle the sound. “That’s not even a real thing!”
“Sure it is! And as a certified tickle doctor, I prescribe more giggles to cure what ails you.” His fingers find the spot just under my arms, and I squeal, thrashin as much as my sick, blanket-bound self can.
“Nooo! I’m—hehe—healthy! I swear! You don’t need to—eee!—check anymore!”
He slows for a moment, just enough to let me catch my breath, but his hands rest threateningly near my sides. “Hmm… I dunno. Maybe one last checkup. I have to be thorough, after all.”
I growl, both dreadin and secretly lovin what’s coming next. “You’re evil.”
“And you’re giggly. Now hold still—doctor’s orders!”
I want to hate it—really, I do—but I love the way he makes me feel safe even when I’m too sick to do much else. His silly “doctor” game doesn’t hurt; it just reminds me that some things, like him, are soft, warm, and safe.

SICK ANNIVERSARIES/CHRIS STURNIOLO
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
holy shit tumblr moves FAST i literally feel like a godess tysm !! 😽
anyways my tummy huwts so guess what hehe
warnings???: fluff, nicknames ig, use of y/n?
today is you guys' 1 year anniversary and chris had it all planned out.
waking you up with kisses, and strawberries on the bedside table in the morning, just stay in bed together, cuddling till 1pm, baking pizza together in reminders of your first date at that cozy, family run pizza place, taking you out on a nice walk in the park then dinner at a fancy place to spice it up a little and lastly just end the day with a basic horror movie since you both are little scaredy cats that eventually just end up cuddling up close to each other.
but when the plan all goes to shit with you waking up with a throbbing headache the beaming smile spread across chris' cheeks falls in only seconds of hearing that heart melting whimper vibrating through your sleep-puffed lips.
"hey, is something wrong?", he whispers in concern as he places the plate of towered strawberries onto the nightstand to press his palm against your upper forearm and rub his thumb against your shoulder, swayed from left and right.
when you don't reply and just lay there fully still on the mattress with your scrunched up face in pain almost buried into the pillow chris tilts his head, studying your face while he feels his heart breaking for you.
"it's okay! just....just go back to sleep, baby, it's okay!!", he whispers once more before pressing a gentle kiss to your aching temple.
you can't help but let out another whince of pain, your forehead feeling like an abused drum and roll over to bury your head back into your boyfriend's chest.
chris' arm immediately drapes around your shoulders out of simple reflex and he buries his nose into your hair, breathing in your scent to let out a heavy sigh
"im sorry, im so sorry babe..it's okay! im right here, my beautiful, beautiful girl..go back to sleep"
his big hand soothingly rubs the back your right shoulderblade in order to send you back into a (hopefully) healing slumber while he just continues to whisper sweet nothings into your ear.
your eyes slowly squint open, staring up at the white ceiling, your hand reaching out beside you, feeling up the cold, wrinkled up bedsheet where you needed your boyfriend to be.
your groan echoes through his room as the same hand falls onto your forehead, rubbing it in discomfort.
"still not feeling good?"
you slightly jump as chris' caring voice startles your pain fogged brain, causing a soft laugh to slip out of his throat.
he places a bright red mug onto the nightstand, his knees slowly dropping down onto the floor infront of the bed
"heh...sorry ma"
your sleepy eyes follow the dampf float through the air from the mug, not even noticing his warm thumb rubbing circles over your forehead.
"what time is it?", you mumble in a weak, raspy voice once your gaze has finally switched back over to your boyfriend.
"it's like 12....30..ish?", he replies while simply admiring your natural beauty even when your feeling so terrible.
"baby im so sorry you can't enjoy today like you could have. i had everything planned out and ready to go! definitely did not think this was gonna happen....but hey, we can still enjoy today a little hm?"
his caring words make the corners of your lips jerk up into a wide smile once you finally realise what special day it was today.
"oh my god! happy anniversary babe! shit, im SO sorry i messed today up for us!!"
"shhhh.....shut up! don't talk like this is your fault cause it DEFINITELY isn't, got it?"
the stern tone in his yet caring whisper makes your heart melt, your eyes blinking as they fall heavy from the exhaustion of your pain but the smile widens on your lips in love for him.
you feel his hands slide up your sides, under your armpits and lift you up into a sitting position. the mattress damps once he sits his fatass down onto the bedside, besides you.
chris takes the mug in his hand again, holding it up towards your lips while pressing a small pill into your open palm with the other
"drink", he demands with a loving smirk, making you roll my eyes at his drugdealer behaviour, only for your face to scrunch up at the sting in your head that eyeroll caused you
you take the mug in your hands, laying the pill onto your tounge and swallowing it down with the warm black tea with milk, which he knew you favourited over anything.
"you're so beautiful", he blurts out through a heavy sigh along with that adorable smile he could barely hide from you.
chris clears his throat and laughs, trying to try and brush off the words that slipped out of his mouth. your laughter mixing in with his.
already 1 year into the relationship and you guys are still acting like shy teenagers with a little crush.
the pictures match SO WELL at the start my eyes are literally turning into heartshaped waterfalls 😻
aight imma risk it and post at midnight, farewell

..papa.. I know I should eat buh I no has engy get ou bed an my throat huwts so much Dat it huwts tuh swallow :( I awso knows my body twyin tell me it hungwy buh no foods actually sounds appealing.. -🥫
Oh I understand that. That’s how most of my days are
The best thing you can do is get up anyway and find something soft and easy to eat, even if it’s small
If I remember correctly, you don’t like toast. I don’t know if you don’t like bread in general but if you do like bread, then maybe you could have a sandwich and take the crust off (during these moments, crust is impossible to eat). Just recommend meat and cheese because the protein would do you good and it’s easier to eat then peanuts butter in my opinion, but whatever type of sandwich works, as long as it’s something
It doesn’t have to be a sandwich, that was just a suggestion
Ramen is nice and easy to eat as well, and the broth you can put in a cup and drink because the broth would probably do you some good

Tumblr media
I hummed softly as I tossed laundry, sorted into delicates, into the washing machine, the appropriate things in lingerie bags- namely speaking, my bras and Baby Tommy’s dollie. I tossed a pod in with the load before shutting the door and swiftly programming a gentle wash cycle.
I grunted as I stuck my hand onto the right side of my lower abdomen, where shooting pain was rocketing from.
“Mommy?”
I looked up and smiled at Baby Tommy, who had abandoned his fascination with watching as his dollie was washed to focus on me.
“Mommy, ou huwt?” he asked me as he came up to me as I slid down onto the floor. “Need kissies?”
I opened my mouth to reassure him that everything was fine, only to have a hoarse scream of pain rip from my throat at the pain that began to rip through me.
Peter! I screamed, kicking myself for asking him to take everyone out for ice cream and a visit to the park while I knocked out the laundry.
Is this how I would die?
I faded in and out of an unconsciousness where I was wide awake and well aware of what all was happening as Baby Tommy took my phone from my bra and fiddled around on it for a minute before beginning to babble away.
“Mommy hurt! Baa bee Vii wet Mawie hurt!” he sobbed. “Hewlp!”
Okay sweetheart, what’s your name?
“Baa bee Tom Tom!” he sobbed, curling himself around his little sister. “Please hewlp!”
Alright sweetie, I’ve dispatched an ambulance crew to your address. How old are you?
“Won,” he whimpered as Daisy padded in with Mittens at her side.
You’re one year old? Oh my goodness, what a grown up you’re being! How old is your mommy?
“Old,” grumbled Baby Tommy, leaning up to poke at my cheek.
She’s old? Do you know the number?
“I won!” he repeated himself. “You be good now mommy!”
Can you tell me where your mommy is feeling ill?
“I don no!” he whined, pressing his hand to where Baby Violet Marie was twirling and punching.
PUNCH PUNCH PUNCH PUNCH
“Baa bee Vii wet Mawie kick kick!” he announced as he pressed a sweet baby kiss to my tummy.
Is Baby Violet Marie in your mommy’s tummy?
“Yes,” he sobbed. “Pweaze huwwy!”
Alright love, the ambulance crew is a few minutes out. Is your front door unlocked?
“Yes,” he answered at once.
“Hello?” someone called out from the front door. “Ambulance!”
“Tank ou,” Baby Tommy said before pattering out into the dining room to show the paramedics where they were needed.
The last thing that I saw before I faded out was a black woman kneeling in front of me.
~xoXox~
The next time I woke up, my head felt fuzzy, almost as though I was in a dream. I moaned as I pried my eyes open- I was so thirsty.
“Sweetheart.”
A man jumped up from the tiny chair that he had been squeezed into, crossing over to sit on the side of the bed, his massive tattooed hand coming up to cradle at the side of my face.
“You gave me quite the scare,” he chuckled, pressing a whiskery kiss to my temple. “The doctor told me that you’d act loopy after the surgery. How are you doing?”
Who are you?
His mouth crinkled into a smiled as his hands went down to clasp my fingers into his, where I saw that the back of my hands were marked with the same heavily masculine tattoos that marked his.
“My name is Peter, sweetheart,” he chuckled as he pressed a tender kiss to my palm. “I’m your husband.”
My head hurts.
He just twisted around to grab a cup with a straw and held it up to my mouth, to which I practically guzzled the water down. Despite this man’s imposing features, I couldn’t help but feel safe and loved when he was near.
KICK KICK KICK PUNCH PUNCH KICK PUNCH PUNCH
My frown wrinkled as I looked down to my popped out tummy.
“Calm down there,” he rumbled, patting my tummy, where the little human inside my womb did as her daddy asked her to, and I could practically feel the baby pressing her hand up against her daddy’s.
What happened?
“Your appendix needed to be removed and was literally minutes away from rupturing by the time you went in for surgery,” he told me with a familiar gentleness in his green eyes. “Baby Tommy called 911 while I was out of the house with the other kids.”
Baby Tommy?
“Our son,” he told me. “He was honestly worked up into quite the fuss over you.”
How many kids do we have?
“Well…” he hummed. “Elizabeth is my daughter from another relationship. Katie is our adopted daughter. Elle and Jing are their look alike dolls. Baby Tommy is our son. Little girl was your surrogate daughter that you carried for a couple of friends of yours. Baby Violet Marie is due on November first in a few short months.”
Oh.
A memories floated into my heart- passion, and love and thrusting hips, and greedy kisses.
How big are you?
Peter looked away, a deep tinge on his face.
“Sweetheart, we can discuss that when you’re feeling better, yeah?” he asked me as a woman with glasses and wearing a white coat stepped into the room.
“Hey hey, Uncle Pete, Mary Claire,” she greeted us in a friendly chirp. “How are you doing?”
“She’s pretty much out of it,” Peter laughed. “She doesn’t believe me when I told her about the kids.”
“Ah.” She reached into her pocket before handing him a vial. “Her wedding ring. I practically had to bully it off from Doctor Charles.”
I poked at my tummy, suddenly realizing the tight, itchy feeling that was plaguing me.
Peter caught my hand, bring it up to his mouth to kiss my fingers.
“Nonono now sweetheart,” he chuckled. “Can you please refrain from picking at your battle scar? I don’t want it to get infected.”
Alright daddy.
I didn’t know why I called him that, but it suited him well enough, judging by the smile that cross over his face.
Daddy? How big is your dick?

Forever Home (Yandere!Platonic!Wanda Maximoff/Yandere!Platonic!Scarlet Witch x female!autistic!chaos magic user!ADHD!young adult!reader)
Tumblr media
Summary: Your desperate escape attempt from a superwitch seems to come to a standstill thanks to two of your greatest enemies; guilt and splinters.
(CW: Injury, sensory overload, endless house, idk what else, being trapped I guess?)
Author’s Note: There aren’t enough platonic fics.
The house seems endless as you rush through it, trying to find a way out, though you have no doubt that that’s intentional.
Your heart’s beating like mad as you slide around every corner, trying to hide. The anxiety is palpable for you; at only 24, you’re being hunted down, but not by the law. Instead it’s by a woman who’s deemed you her little sister; and to make matters worse, said woman has powerful magic and is corrupted by an evil book.
A case of the Mondays, am I right?
Everything seems too loud to you; your bare feet on the floor, (as you decided to try to leave without your shoes so that they wouldn't make too much noise) your hyperventilating, even the tears seem to have sound now. You need to find somewhere to hide, someplace dark or at least dim, someplace away from your guilt.
Soon you spy a door left open, you don’t even think twice before rushing inside and shutting it. You keep going, rushing down a flight of stairs; your hair only adds to the sensory overload as it brushes against your face and even sticks to it from the tears.
“When I said I wanted someone to take care of me and help me train this new fucking magic that just appeared out of nowhere, this is not what I mean,” you pant as you look around for a place to hide.
That’s another advantage she has over you; she knows her magic, you don’t know yours.
You dash inside of a nearby closet, shut the door, crawl as far back as you can, hide behind a wall of stuff, and sit on the floor, rocking back and forth; the lump in your throat is difficult to get rid of. You feel guilty for trying to leave her, but you also don’t like losing your freedom. You’ve been so scared to tell her, though.
Your stomach churns as you try not to cry out. She gets more protective of you when you cry and if she finds you and sees you with tears in your eyes, she’ll never leave your side. Oh, God.....why did she have to see all of those fucking memories? Yeah, your inner child might be bruised up, but there’s therapy for that, right?
Suddenly you hear footsteps and your brain freezes up. Part of you wants to rush into her arms and cry, but the logical part of you is telling you to keep your fucking mouth shut. But you feel so sick, partially from running, partially from guilt, partially from fear. And then you feel a sort of tickling on your bare feet, but also some pain.
Feeling over your feet, you realize that they’re covered in splinters. Wincing, you try to pull them out yourself, but suddenly the splinter somehow transfers to your thumb, getting in it fairly well.
And that’s when the cup spills over.
You cry out the loudest you ever have, the sound almost shaking the closet. Immediately the door opens and in rushes the person who’s been pursuing you.
“Little sister!”
Wanda kneels next to you, using her magic as a light source. As if on instinct, you practically rush into her, grappling onto her as you weep. She hugs you in return, rubbing your back.
“I-I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry,” you whimper over and over again.
Wanda gently shushes you.
“It’s alright,” she assures you. “I’m just glad you’re safe, little sister.”
“M-my feets and thumb....they huwt,” you sniffle, feeling like a scared child.
“I know, those splinters....they’re big meanies, huh?” she asks.
“Mm-hmm.”
“Don’t worry, we’ll get those pulled out. And then we can cuddle. Would you like that, little sister?”
“Mm-hmm.”
Standing up, still hugging you and rubbing your back, Wanda gently flies out of the room with you. It was honestly a stroke of luck that she found you. If those splinters weren’t there, she might’ve not been able to find you.
She brings you to your shared bedroom and places you on your bed.
“Why did you try to run away, anyhow?” she asks you.
“I’m scared of losing my freedom,” you confess.
Wanda’s heart melts; she knows that you’re being honest, having major trouble with lies and telling them. Well, except when you’re fine, she knows you sometimes lie about that, but you don’t lie to her out of malice. She gives you your stuffed unicorn.
“This is gonna hurt a little, okay?” she warns you.
“A-are you mad at me?” you whimper as she begins to use her magic to pull out the splinters, starting with the thumb one.
She waits until she pulls out the splinter she’s currently working on to answer.
“No, I’m not mad, little sister,” she confesses gently as she continues to pull them out. “I know that all of this is such a sudden change, but I want to help you feel at home here. I’m glad that you were honest with me about why you tried to run off as well. But I promise that I’ll open up more of this place to you once you’ve adjusted here. I don’t want to overwhelm you with so many changes all at once.”
“But....what about my freedom in the world out there?” you ask innocently.
Wanda pauses for a moment before getting up and sitting on the bed next to you; gently she pets your head.
“You don’t need that world,” she tells you. “It’s not a world that an angel like you belongs in, a world that doesn’t deserve you. All it’s done is hurt you, just because of who you are. But I won't. No, I love you as you are, little sister, and I always will.”
Hearing this, you smile. You don’t care anymore that she’s found you. She’ll be able to protect you and love you. You won’t have to worry about being alone anymore.
“I love you, big sis,” you sniffle as you lean in and hug her.
She smiles.
“I love you too, little sister,” she replies before doing a little quick spell, one that you don’t notice. She lets go after a bit. “Now let’s finish getting those mean old splinters out.”
She manages to get the rest of them out and disinfect both your foot and thumb before bandaging them up. The two of you cuddle as you watch The Dick Van Dyke Show, with you being completely unaware that the spell Wanda cast, as one of the main parts of it, made it so that you’ll never be able to leave this place. It will always morph so that any future escape attempts will lead right back to her or, if she’s out getting groceries or something, back to the bedroom you both share. It also stopped both of you from aging and also assured immortality, so that you two can be a family even beyond the end of time.
After all, this is your forever home.
And your big sister is ready and willing to make sure that that fact sticks in your head.
“I’m all that you need, little sister...”

I won’t stop with the incorrects btw, and if you guys prefer I create a different blog to post these little stories just let me know. Without further ado, enjoy, and let me know what you think (this is my first time writing something like this too, so tips/remarks are always welcome).

“West wing clear”
“Basement clear”
“Guys I need some help here.”
You heard through comms as your teammates infiltrated the Hydra base.
It was a fairly simple mission, small base, so not that many enemies to fight off.
As you made your way down an empty corridor to the control room you could listen to Bucky's grunts, and punches, on your earpiece as Sam and Steve made their way to him.
The silence and emptiness was rather suspicious, but you made nothing off of it, thankful you would get in easily.
“I’m in the control room.” You spoke when you found yourself surrounded by computers and all sorts of technology. It seemed quite ancient for an organization that has been a pain in your asses for the past months.
Hacking wasn’t your specialty, but you sure were better at it then the other three, hence you getting the task. Your eyes scanned the room, trained on identifying threats. Surprised by the emptiness of it all, you focused on finding the main system.
You plugged the pen drive Stark had prepared and started typing, your eyes occasionally leaving the screen to take a quick glance around the room, an uneasy feeling growing at the pit of your stomach.
“Y/L/N, we’re all clear here,” Steve’s voice rang on your ear, “how are you doing there.”
“I’m nearly done,” you stared at the computer as the information was downloaded to the little gadget, “I don’t know guys, something here feels wrong, it’s too empty, too quiet.”
No response.
“Guys? Can you hear me?” Your heart rate picked up, something was definitely wrong.
In a second the download was complete, and you hastily snatched the pen drive, going for the door. Your desperation grew when you stated it was locked.
“Can anyone listen? I’m locked.” You spoke to the earpiece. “The doors locked automatically. I need help getting out.”
The door was sealed shut, not even a small slit in between it and the floor, your powers wouldn’t help you on this one. You tried to bring your heart rate down as your eyes scoured the room once again for a way out. No air vents, no windows, there was another door on the other end of the room, and you promptly made your way to it, only to confirm it was also locked shut.
Your attention was brought back to the first door, loud banging and a faint voice coming from the other side. Thankfully the boys noticed there was a problem and came to your aid. As you ran across the room, your head started to get fuzzy, your vision was not as clear as it had been seconds ago, and breathing was starting to get harder.
Before you even reached the still shut door, your body collapsed on the floor, everything going black.
Tumblr media
You stirred in bed, shifting to a more comfortable position. Some light seeped through your eyelids, but you were tired, dragging the sleep as long as possible.
Your peace was broken by a door suddenly opening.
“What the hell happened?” A woman’s voice filled the room. She sounded angry, and upset, the hostility in her tone made you clutch the blanket harder.
“Wanda calm-” A man spoke, but was cut off by the woman.
“Calm down? CALM DOWN? Don’t you tell me to calm down, Stark, when I got back from a mission fifteen minutes ago only to learn that my girlfriend turned herself into a five year old toddler.” She was loud and it just made you even more scared of being in trouble.
A small whimper escaped your throat getting both people's attention. You opened your eyes only to be met by several stares, there were easily five or six people in that room, but you didn’t have time to count as you pulled the blanket over your head, bringing your knees closer to your chest.
Your body was trembling with fear from what you knew would come next. You hadn’t done anything, you had been a good girl, done your chores, never speaking unless spoken to, but for some reason the people from the orphanage took a particular liking in punishing you even when you hadn’t done anything bad.
You waited for it to come, but instead of the ill-disposed voice and harsh hands, you were met with a soft “hey” and a delicate hand. Nonetheless it was still frightened, making your whole body tense.
“I’m sowy, I didn’t do anyfing, pwease don’t huwt me, I’ve been good.” You cried out, tears threatening to fall.
The hand started to caress your arm soothingly.
“Hey Y/N, you’re okay, we’re not going to hurt you, okay? You’re safe here.” Your muscles relaxed slightly at the words, thick with an accent, and touch. Your mind was still on alert but for some reason your body responded to this woman in a way your mind didn’t understand.
“Seems like she lost her memories too, she still thinks she is in that horrible place.” A new voice spoke up.
“Hey Y/N,” the woman spoke close to you, low as not to frighten you further, “you’re not in the orphanage anymore okay? You are somewhere safe. Those people can’t get to you here.”
You peeked over the blanket and was met with mesmerizing green eyes, they seemed so kind and comforting putting you at ease.
“Pwomise?”
“I promise. No one’s going to hurt you. We will protect you.” She offered you a smile that made your lips want to curl into one too, despite your wariness of the woman still being a stranger.
You pulled the blanket back above your head, muttering a quiet “okay”. Your heart rate then picked up it’s pace once you noticed you would be punished for forgetting your manners, your mind still not fully understanding you were no longer in a dangerous place.
You yanked the blanket just below your chin, uncovering your whole face so you were facing the woman.
“Fank you, miss.” You spoke quickly and hid again.
She chuckled slightly and you couldn’t help but feel fuzzy.
“How about you stop hiding that pretty face of yours huh?” The words caused a smile to unconsciously tug at your lips, as you pulled the blanket down and started to sit up. “See, much better, right?”
You stared at the figure in front of you with what could only be described as adoration. She was just so kind and beautiful you couldn’t seem to stop smiling. A slight movement behind her brought you out of your daze and you landed your gaze on the several people watching the interaction, people you had seemingly forgotten were still in the room.
Your eyes went wide and a gasp left your lips before you laid back down, covering your curled up body with the blanket again. The woman noticed what had frightened you and brought her hand back to caress your back.
“Hey, it’s okay, they’re only here to protect you too. They are just worried about you.” You didn’t move, this was too many new people and having all their eyes on you was making you nervous. “Do you want me to ask them to leave?” She whispered closer to your ear and you nodded excessively.
Sounds of chairs moving, footsteps and a door closing were heard before the room fell back to silence.
“We’re alone now.”
You peeked carefully outside the blanket to be sure you were alone. When you found the rest of the room empty, you moved to sit back up. Suddenly the idea of being alone with this woman made you very shy, your eyes watching as you wiggled your toes.
“Fank you, miss.”
“Wanda”
“Wanda” You whispered, not taking your eyes off of your feet.
After a few moments of silence a question popped into your head.
“Why did you save me?” You tried to speak but the sound wasn’t higher than a whisper.
“What?”
“”Why did you save me.” You said louder. “The Sisters said that I was- I was a bad giwl, and that is why my pawents didn’t want me, and no one would want because I was bad and-”
“Okay, stop,” she cut off your rambling and you finally met her gaze, “all those things they said about you are not true, okay? Don’t believe any of that.”
“How do you know it is not twue.” Sadness seeping on your voice. “You don’t even know me.”
“Quite on the contrary, I happen to know you very well. I know you get grumpy when you wake up. I know you don’t like to wear dresses. I know you like to laugh and make lots of funny jokes. I know your favourite colour, favorite food, favourite animal, favourite movie… but most importantly,” she brought her hands to rest on your sides, “I know you are very ticklish.”
At that she started to tickle you mercilessly causing you to fall back on the bed, a string of laughs and giggles escaping your mouth. She stopped after a few seconds and you took the opportunity to catch your breath.
“See. I know many things about you.”
“Yeah.” You said amidst giggles.
“And I know that none of those things the Sisters said about you are true.”
“Fank you, miss Wanda.” She let out a laugh.
“You are too cute,” she pinched your cheeks causing you to feel shy all of a sudden, “just call me Wanda.”
Your gaze fell down to the mattress again.
“Okay, fank you, Wanda.” Your voice barely above a whisper.
“You’re welcome.” She brought her hand up to smooth your hair. “Do you want anything sweetie?” That little nickname just made you even more flustered, even though you couldn’t hide the smile that formed at your lips.
You pondered her question for a second, you were hungry, but you knew better than to ask for food outside of mealtimes, the memories of the punishments still fresh. After a few moments you shook your head.
“Are you sure?” She pushed. “Don’t you want to eat something?” It was almost as if she could read your mind. “You can tell me, it’s okay, no one will hurt you for being hungry. And we can fix up something for us to eat.” She must have noticed your hesitation. “Y’know, I’m a little bit hungry too.” She whispered close to your ear, her breath tickling your ear causing you to chuckle.
Your mind knew this was a bad idea, that you would get punished after, but Wanda was just so convincing you ended up nodding weakly.
“There you go.” She cheered.
She picked you up from the bed, but before she could lower you to the floor your arms circled her neck and your legs, her waist. You couldn’t help it, you just wanted to be close to her. She giggled at your actions, but didn’t fight it, carrying you out of the room and into a big corridor.
When the sound of muffled voices started to grow louder, your posture became tense. Wanda took notice, rubbing circles on your back.
“Hey, it’s alright, they are nice, you’ll see.” She tried to calm you down.
Your posture relaxed, but you weren’t sure if it was because of her words or just her general presence.
“Whewe awe we going?”
“To the kitchen.”
“And the people in the kitchen? Will they huwt me?”
“No honey, of course not, they care so much about you, they are here to protect you too.”
As she made her way into the kitchen, you hid your face in the crook of her neck, trying to ignore how the room went quiet with your presence.
“How is she?” A male voice asked, you recognized it from moments earlier.
“She’s okay, a little scared, seems like she did also lose all her memories, everything she knows is from when she was five.”
Wanda moved around and kept up with the conversation, to which you stopped paying attention when your eyes fell onto a thing a man was eating. You had tried one of those before, once, when an old woman donated a basket of those to the orphanage and you managed to steal a small piece, it was delicious, tasted like heaven compared to all the tasteless food they gave you in that place.
Wanda settled on a chair and you kept your head hidden, but your eyes were locked on the man.
You thought you heard Wanda calling you, but your attention was entirely on that piece of food. The man seemed to take notice when he met your gaze and gave you a smirk. The eye contact would’ve made you shy away, but Wanda’s presence made you feel safe, so you held it.
“I think I know what she wants.” He spoke to Wanda. “Would you like a muffin Y/N?” He directed at you. You lifted your head from Wanda’s shoulder and, after a moment of hesitation, you nodded slowly.
He opened a cabinet and picked one up, handing it to you, offering a beaming smile. You stared at it for a second, not expecting him to give you a whole one. Your eyes darted from him to Wanda, looking for some sort of confirmation.
“It’s okay, take it.” She smiled at you encouragingly.
You slowly stretched your hand and grabbed the item.
“Fank you, siw.” You practically whispered.
“You can call me Sam.”
“Fank you, Mw. Sam.”
“Huh, Mr Sam, I can get used to that.” He joked. Or at least you thought he did, since now you were just blankly staring at the muffin, not really sure if you should really eat it, despite your stomach screaming for you to do so.
“Just call him Sam,” Wanda spoke to you, “and we can’t let her keep calling us that, Sam, she does it out of fear for disrespecting us.”
“Is that why she also hesitated from taking the muffin?” A new voice questioned.
“I don’t know Stark, maybe…” Wanda trailed off and you decided to help, since they were talking about you anyways.
“Fhey did not let us- let us eat out of meal time and-,” you took a breath trying to calm your nerves, “and thewe wewe too many kids so- so thewe was nevew enough food and- and,” your eyes went wide when you noticed everyone was staring at you intently and a whimper left your lips unconsciously before you shoved your face back into Wanda’s neck.
She rubbed your back in an attempt to calm you down and, surprisingly enough, it did. Something about her just made you so calm.
“You don’t have to worry about this here,” a man with glasses said, “we have plenty of food and no rules, you can have whatever you want whenever you want, just tell any of us and we’ll get it for you, deal?” You smiled at how nice they were being with you.
“Deal, siw.” You nodded.
“And call me Tony, please.” You nodded again.
“See, it’s fine, you're safe here.” Wanda reassured, giving you a kiss on your temple. The action caused a silly smile to grow on your lips and your cheeks to heat up, as you leaned into her chest.
 “Oh, come on, seriously?” A man with the same accent as Wanda blurted. “She has known you for, what? 20 minutes? And she already has a crush on you.” His comment made laughter erupt around the kitchen, and, even though you didn’t understand what was so funny, you enjoyed the moment. Laughter was not common in the orphanage.
Tumblr media
Throughout the rest of the day you started to feel more comfortable around everyone.
Wanda never left your side, or, you were the one who never left her side. Spending the rest of the evening watching movies on the most amazing TV room you had ever stepped foot on.
Other people would join you from time to time. Pietro, who you learned was Wanda’s brother; Natasha, or Nat as she preferred; Bucky; Sam; and Steve.
You couldn’t quite pinpoint when it was that you fell asleep. You just knew you were now in a room you had never seen before, it was pretty, but unfamiliar. You saw a stuffed animal left on the edge of the bed and clutched onto it, trying to get the images from the nightmare you just had out of your mind.
Several minutes passed and you were just too scared to even close your eyes. Sleeping alone was something you never did, the rooms in the orphanage were filled to the brim with precarious beds or improvised mattresses due to the excessive amount of kids there.
Deciding that you wouldn’t be able to sleep anymore, you climbed out of bed and made your way out of that room. Your feet automatically took you to another door down a big hall. You knocked softly, but got no response.
After three more tries, you turned the door knob and it opened. You put your head inside the room and detected a figure laying in a bed.
“Wanda,” you whisper shouted, trying to catch the woman’s attention, “Wandaaa.”
She stirred and lifted her head to look at you, her eyes were sleepy, but she managed to give you a tired smile.
“Hey Y/N, is something wrong? Do you need anything?”
“Can I- can I sleep with you?” Your gaze fell to the floor.
“Sure.” You smiled widely and ran towards her, climbing into the bed messily, since it was so ridiculously tall.
She laid on her back, opening her arms, and you took that as your chance to cuddle into her, wrapping your tiny limbs around her torso. She caressed your hair until you drifted to sleep.
Tumblr media
The next morning you woke up still cuddled to Wanda. She was still fast asleep, and looked so peaceful you didn’t have the heart to move and risk waking her. Plus, you liked the proximity, the warmth from her body, her arm hugging you close.
A few minutes passed before she opened her eyes, only to be met by yours.
“Good mowning.”
“Good morning princess,” you giggled at the nickname, “wanna go down and get some breakfast?”
You nodded eagerly, already used this new environment, without the rigid rules and punishments. She climbed out of bed and made her way to the bathroom, you just sat up and watched as she washed her face or something. She then went through another door, which you assumed was where she kept her clothes since moments later she came back in different clothes.
She picked you up from the bed and took you into the kitchen. When she walked past the room, a confused expression grew on you.
“Whewe awe we going?”
“To the dining room, we usually have our breakfast there.”
“Oh, okay.”
And that was one breakfast table alright. All kinds of fruit, bread, cereal, cake, cheese and ham, and butter.
“Look who found our little runaway.” Tony commented, but you didn’t give him any attention, mesmerized by the amount of food.
“Yeah, she found her way into my room in the middle of the night.”
“Really? How?” Steve asked.
“Good question, hey, sweetie,” Wanda caught your attention and you turned to look at her, “how did you know which one was my room last night?” You shrugged.
“I just knew whewe to go.”
“Seems like some part of her memory is still intact.” Stark remarked with interest.
Wanda sat down, with you in her lap and started serving food on her plate. The rest of the room fell into light conversation as you all enjoyed breakfast.
Soon you were interrupted by Bruce.
“Guys, I’ve got results from the tests.”
“Do you know what happened?” Steve asked eagerly.
“Kind of, the smoke she inhaled during the mission was poisonous, it was supposed to kill her, but it seems like her cells reacted to it differently.” He explained. “Her shapeshifting abilities reacted with the poison causing her body to, well, change, in order to avoid dying.”
“My powews wewe able to bweak down the poisonous gas into hawmless pawticles.” You responded automatically.
Everyone was shocked at your statement, but you just kept on eating like nothing had happened, not understanding what they were so surprised about.
“Yes… precisely,” Bruce added, slowly, “and that took a toll on her own cells, turning off her powers momentarily, why she got stuck as her five year old self with no memories whatsoever of the rest of her life is unclear.”
“Can you turn her back?” Nat asked.
“I can try and find some serum that reverts her situation, but, by the looks of it, her body is doing it on its own.”
“She did remember her way to my room last night, and now this. It means her memory is coming back.”
“Can you predict how long it’ll take for her to come back to her own self?” Bucky urged.
“Not really, this is all new to me. Although if I had to take a hint, I’d say a couple of weeks at least.” The scientist answered.
“But she will come back, right?” Wanda sounded preoccupied, and it caught your attention.
“Relax sister, she’ll come back. And even if she doesn’t, she’s already in love with you again anyways.” Pietro teased.
“That’s not helping.” She teased back and tightened her hold on you.
Tumblr media
A few days passed and, as expected, you were still stuck as a five year old. You would slip out little snippets of things from time to time, memories of things you’ve learned only when you were much older, but you still weren’t coming back.
After a while you fell into a routine. You would sleep with Wanda every night, watch movies with her and some of the other people in that place, Bucky and Sam would come up with the funnest games for you to play, Pietro would take you around the compound to help set pranks to play on the others.
You grew accustomed to the place and the people. The lack of excessive rules was relaxing. How nice everyone was to you. When Wanda would call you cute nicknames and get you all shy and flustered.
You were now watching Frozen for the fifth time that week, with Wanda by your side and Nat, Peter and Sam scattered around the TV room.
They found it adorable how you sang along to every song even though you didn’t know any of the lyrics. Peter and Sam had now countless videos on their phones of you doing all sorts of things just to mock you when you came back to your older self.
The movie was nearing the end, now on the scene where they were rushing Anna to the trolls to see if they could help keep her alive. You sang along to the song up until the moment where Anna collapsed from the spell Elsa threw on her.
At that moment you mindlessly turned to Wanda, the words seeping out of your mouth without your control.
“You bettew not die on ouw wedding.” Her eyes went wide with shock from the statement, which you didn’t notice.
“What?” She whispered, more to herself than to you.
“Yeah, well, I’m gonna mawwy you one day.” You gave her a smile and turned your attention back to the TV, unaware of what you had just said as a blush creeped around Wanda’s face.
When the movie ended, you chanted for you guys to watch it again, earning a groan from everyone. When a yawn escaped your lips, Wanda took that as her cue.
“C’mon, honey, you are tired, we can watch it again tomorrow.” She picked you up.
“Pwomise?” You gave her your puppy eyes.
“I promised.” She pecked your nose, earning a giggle from you.
You settled in her bed as you waited for her to shower and join you. You cuddled into her and drifted off to sleep.
Tumblr media
You woke up feeling extremely weird, your muscles ached and your head was spinning a little. You kept your eyes closed as memories from the past days came back to you. The mission going wrong, you waking up in the med bay.
And then you remembered.
“Holy shit.” You whispered to yourself, careful not to wake Wanda.
You had spent the past week as a five year old. Every moment started to come back. You playing hide and seek with Sam and Bucky. That time you and Pietro showered Nat with glitter,  and how she almost killed the boy later. Tony being a dad all the time, checking up if you needed anything and making funny faces to make you laugh. Steve carrying you around inside his shield.
And Wanda, always being there with you. Taking care of you. Watching the same movies all the time. Cuddling every night.
Your attention was caught by the woman stirring in bed next to you, still fast asleep. She had been so patient throughout the whole situation that you couldn’t help but smile.
You propped yourself up on one elbow, facing your girlfriend. You watched for a few minutes while she was fast asleep. Just appreciating how beautiful she was and how peaceful she looked. You were falling even more in love with her, if that was possible.
Not being able to hold yourself back any longer, you gave her a lingering kiss to her forehead, moving then to her cheek, leaving small pecks all the way. You then moved to her jaw and neck, inhaling her scent, as your free hand started to draw circles on her stomach.
You felt her breath changing, indicating she was no longer asleep and directed your lips to her ear.
“Good morning, my love,” you whispered softly, pecking her earlobe gently.
Her hands grabbed your cheeks and moved you up to face her, her expression one of full happiness.
“You’re back.” She whispered moments after, trying to convince herself that it was true.
“I’m back.” You leaned down to capture her lips in a long and passionate kiss, resting your forehead against hers’, “I love you.”
“I love you too,” she moved so she could stare into your eyes, “I missed you.”
“Why? I was here the whole time.” You teased.
“You know what I mean.” Your smile grew as you leaned in again, your lips meeting in another gentle kiss.
“At least we learned two things from this experience,” she eyed you with curiosity, “first, is that no matter what I’ll always be in love with you,” you referred to the crush five year old you had on her, and enjoyed as her cheeks turned bright red, “and second, is that you are great with kids.”
“I am, aren’t I.”
You spent hours in bed, cuddling, kissing and laughing at your childish antics from the past week.
That’s when you knew, you would marry that girl.

Part Two
It was in that moment that Toshinori Yagi lost his grip on his muscle form, coughing as he took a knee, his mind reeling. "What…?!"
"You don haff to bewieve me wight away, papa," the little girl said, sighing. "I'm just gwad you didn hit me again. It doesn't huwt cause you'we weally fast, but…"
"Why the hell would I hit you?!" The vigilante growled, then sighed, sitting back on his ass and rubbing his face. "...Nevermind, I think I get the idea."
"Awe you okay…?" She asked softly, and he kept himself from flinching when the little girl gently took his hand, holding onto his fingers. "I'm sowwy… I know this is hawd, but… I don't know if we haff any othew choice."
The man sighed. "I'll be fine, squirt. I'm not weak enough to be more than just momentarily shaken. But from what you keep implying… All For One has something to do with this?"
"Yes…"
"Hurry up and tell me, then, before…"
Toshinori's words caught in his throat as he glanced at the girl, finding her sobbing silently, fat tears rolling down rosey cheeks.
And growing older at an alarming rate until she had turned into a young woman, wearing a black band t-shirt and cargo pants much the same as what he liked to wear. If he was still skeptical about their relation to each other, that skepticism blew away like dust in the wind.
"I couldn't stop it, papa!" Hinata gasped out. "I can never stop it! Every time! On my twentieth birthday he always finds us! And if I'm never born, it's something else that just makes it happen faster!"
"H…hey…"
"Over and over and over and over!!! I don't know how to stop it!!!" She cried, running her hands through her thick and wavy golden-blonde hair. "That… that All For One creep! He keeps finding me! This time we were doing too well! Winning! He… he bombed our house with you and Izu and dad in it and… and he made me go back. He wanted a timeline where he would win…"
Thoughts whirled through the older blonde's mind. Him and… "'Dad?' If I'm 'papa' then who the hell…?"
The girl sniffled, slowly looking behind her, blue eyes catching the oldest of the two frozen siblings. "... I always go to you first, because you're so strong and have the resources to find what you need… I always wake you up, leave you with some of your memories and disappear… but this time I didn't. I… I had to try something new. So I left you with enough to send you to the medical facility and grab us all… and then I went to be with dad."
"... How much can you show me?"
The young woman… his daughter… gently put her fingertips to his temple, and he had the sense of his inner mind being pulled to and fro between scenes in a movie. Her radiant blue eyes seemed to glow in the dim light.
"Too much… not enough… happiness… sadness… anger… embarrassment… fear… joy… Home…"
Toshinori grabbed her hands and pulled them away, noticing she was shrinking and getting younger despite his splitting headache. "That's enough! You'll…" he swallowed, looking at her with what felt like new eyes. "... My little sunflower, I don't want you to burn out."
"But papa…"
"No, that's enough. I got the gist of it, and Nighteye can help once he gets here…" he thought a moment, absently moving the 5 year old into his lap. "How much does Ri know, Squirt?"
"Nothing… I didn't teww dad anything, Papa. He wouldn't take it weww… not aftew being in thewe. I was thewe a few days and made fwiends with Liwwy, but dad was kept sepawated fwom us…"
Toshinori nodded, holding his daughter gently, growing his muscle form back and picking up his phone. "Then here's the story: you're my daughter, and I saved you from capture and just… happened to bring your new friends with us. We can figure out the rest after we get situated."
Hinata looked heartbreakingly relieved as she nodded. "Yes papa…" she sniffles, "I was scawed you'd pwetend not to know me…"
"Never," he murmured soothingly, holding her tighter. "Never ever, little one… now I need you to release your quirk. Nighteye was saying something important, I think."
The young girl nodded, and the world came back to life as Mirai's voice once again blared through the phone.
—"nde girl! She'll say something strange, but I swear she won't hurt any of us, I can help her explain…!"
"You're a bit late," Toshinori said dryly, but gave a soft smile as he pet his daughter's hair, letting her relax against him. "The little shit already said her piece… and I believe every word of it. So you better be going the speed limit, because everyone is perfectly safe. I'm hanging up. We'll see you when you arrive."
The sigh of relief from the other end was palpable, and Toshinori closed his phone with an answering sigh.
This wasn't how he expected his night to go.
Starting Over
Hinata Abigail-Jinx Yagi, 5 years old, cried silently as she trudged through the darkness of her quirk.
How did this happen?
Why did this happen?
And how did this man know to find me?
"Ah, truly I should have known something strange was happening," the scary quirk-stealing man said, his grip on her arm far too tight as he walked beside her, "All of those prophetic nightmares… of course someone was interfering! How could I have been losing otherwise! Now all I need is for you to put us on a more correct course… and then, it will be checkmate."
As if I will let you win.
Hinata, 5 years old on the outside and mentally nearly 20 after rewinding her body's timeline during the chaos of this man's assault on her family, let her tears fall. It was easy to play the scared little girl— she was a scared little girl, truly— but she'd been through enough to have already made a plan for this type of scenario.
Following the soft tug, she found it. The timeline she needed.
She led All For One down the path to his doom, hiding her smile as the sleeping iteration of her dad came into her line of sight.
It was time to start winning.
~~~
All Might carefully maneuvered the small scraps of a human being he was supporting with one arm, skin still prickling from the things he'd seen in that lab, as he locked the door behind them and walked into the hideout's entryway. He'd only been going there to stake things out a bit-- he wasn't planning on demolishing it yet, but... But then he'd snuck his way into the viewing room, right as they were about to start cutting into the largest of the kids. He could tell from scars and little marks around their body that it wouldn't have been the first time... But when he heard that scream, the villain had snapped.
He gently set the bundled up… people down in his couch, turning on a lamp and reaching into his pocket as he unrolled a set of files he'd snatched.
Name: Lilly S.
Age: 8
Gender: F
Quirk: phasing (able to move through objects and cause objects to be free from the laws of physics)
American Import. Caught trying to sneak in to find R#####.
Name: R##### S. (Will fight unless referred to as Ryan Rian)
Age: 21
Gender: # M?
Quirk: Trans-Spatial/Dimensional Warp Gates (portal maker) ((Suppressants required every 10-12 hours to maintain control of the subject))
American Import. Subject chosen for experimentation before being given to…
Toshinori saw the name in the "subject description" and nearly ripped the paper to shreds. Fucking monsters. The notes written throughout the older one's document in red ink were... Odd. Confusing. Why cross out the Female marker, instead of just fixing the document? And the original name was violently scratched out. The age was also surprising. He certainly didn't look like he was in his 20s... He barely looked like a high school kid. The two young girls weren't in any better shape, either… though he had not found a file on the blonde one. The other two were easily recognized as siblings, while that one...
It was odd… she looked at least half Asian. It was a rare thing for blonde hair to mix so thoroughly with Asian features. He didn't really know anyone besides himself with those traits.
The vigilante sighed. He hadn't planned on taking anyone in, let alone three kids. Did he have enough food? He certainly didn't have any clothes that would fit any of them... But they would all definitely need them. And a good scrubbing.
And why the hell was he so ready to let them stay here…?
Why did those faces, that name Rian, look so... Familiar?
Why was that scream so earth-shatteringly similar to something he'd heard before?
All Might tiredly rubbed his temples, heaving a sigh as his phone suddenly rang. He flipped it open— he carried numerous old models that he could easily toss if necessary— and growled. "It's 3am, Nighteye."
"Yes, and you just got back from a surprise raid of the research facility, bringing back several people. I'm three— two blocks away from your location."
The blonde frowned. "What?"
"If you ever listen to a word I say, listen to what I'm telling you right now. All Might, do not touch the blond—"
"FWEEZE!"
Mirai's voice broke off abruptly, and the very air tasted stale as the old vigilante's hair stood on end. Slowly, he turned around, and Toshinori Yagi nearly dropped the phone as he met his own eyes lodged into the face of that cute little girl as she woozily sat upright.
"I don't want anyone ewse tewwing you befowe I do."
Toshinori swallowed, biting back a threatening headache as he inwardly asked himself if he had it in him to punch a toddler.
"... Who are you, and how the fuck did you just stop time?"
"I didn't stawp it…" the little girl grumbled, clambering almost clumsily down from the couch. "I wemoved us fwom it. I need to tawk to you befowe unky Nighteye gets hewe and has a heawt attack."
All Might's eyes narrowed, one eye squeezing shut as his head throbbed. "You didn't answer the first part of my question, squirt. Who the hell are you? You realize I can kill you before you can blink, right?"
The girl sighed, rolling her eyes. "Yeah, I'm vewy much intimate with that knowwedge, owd man. It won't be the fiwst time you kiww me."
That gave the vigilante pause, and he hesitated. "... Come again?"
The little girl stood straighter, her hand thumping her chest as she gave the widest and cutest little grin he'd ever witnessed in his life.
"I'm Hinata Abigail-Jinx Yagi! And papa, I'm youw daughter fwom the futuwe!"
I hope you’re all enjoying the 7 days 7 fics! I really cranked it out on all of these oneshots! Here is the masterlist for that! And here’s my main masterlist! Thank you all for the love and support!
{***}{***}{***}
Little Falls… I never understood this town's love for bowling… and I probably never will… It’s probably a good thing that I moved from Little Falls before I got old enough to actually learn how to bowl, mostly because if I did, and I didn’t bowl, I’d probably be chased out of town with a crowd of pitchforks and torches.
So, it’s probably an even better thing that I just work at the town’s precious bowling alley. But, to be fair… This alley has been in the family since it opened.
Long story short, I hate bowling. I just needed extra cash, and my grandfather just so happens to pay me extra. Not because I’m fami-No that’s exactly why...
“You are busting my balls here!” A man shouted from the lanes. I furrowed my eyebrows and looked in that direction, looking for the owner of the shouts. I gently placed the pair of shoes down on the counter before walking around to the lanes. “You can’t be serious!” A guy wearing a yellow bowling shirt was shouting down the lane he was standing on.
“Is… Is everything okay?” I leaned against the half-wall beside me. I propped my arms on top of the wall as I looked at him. I looked across the tables behind the lanes and noted there was only one other person, who was watching the man with such intent I was sure they’d kill him. “It’s just you playing,” I half-laughed at the guy. He spun around on his toes and pointed a finger at me. I tried to not take it as accusatory, but everything in my body was telling me he meant it as such.
“I would have gotten that pin down if it wasn’t for you,” he half-shouted at me. I lifted my hands as some form of surrender as I stepped down to the lanes. The guy in the yellow bowling shirt looked at me and cocked his head.
“Oh, I’m sorry, I just came down here to see if everything was alright… And if it was, I was just going back to work… Cleaning smelly rental, bowling shoes,” I gestured back towards the counter where a pile of rental shoes was sitting, waiting to be cleaned. “I just heard all the shouting down here and wanted to make sure someone wasn’t fighting with the balls,” I shrugged as I looked up at him. My joke about the balls was only mildly humorous if you knew that there were only 3 people in total in the alley. Myself, the angry stranger, and his unusual friend.
Glasses that kinda reminded me a little of Jeffery Dahmer sat on the tip of his nose, and just under his nose was a porn-stache. And the way he styled his hair just looked like a mop sitting on his head. But there was something, I don't know, attractive (I guess it was attractive) about this man. A certain handsomeness that I couldn’t exactly describe.
“No, no, no one was fighting with the balls,” he spoke as he stepped closer to me. He looked down at me with a smile before resting both his hands on my shoulder. I sighed deeply as I stared up at him. “Now, go, run along… You said you have rental shoes to clean,” he smiled as he turned me around to face the 3 steps behind us.
“Hold on,” I stepped away from him and turned back to face him. I had to crane my neck up to meet his stare, him being nearly a foot taller than me. “I can easily kick you out of here,” I scoffed as I looked at his shirt, finally noticing the patch sewn into the pocket of his shirt. The name Franklin was stitched into the patch with black thread in a fancy script. “Franklin,” I looked up at him and smiled. The cocky and smug expression on his face faltered for a moment as he looked at me.
“Oh, aren’t you’re so cute,” he brought his hands to rest on my cheeks before squeezing them together, pushing my lips out. “You’re new in town, aren’t you?” he asked as he cocked his head to look down at me. I couldn’t exactly answer with my words, so I just nodded lightly. My eyes never left his face, and his never left mine.
“There’s just one thing you’re missing then. I own this place. This bowling alley... Is mine,” he kept his voice low as he spoke and the smugness returning, “Do you understand, Sunshine,” he asked, the condescension in his tone really coming out with the pet name he used. I tried to laugh and shake my head before I pulled away from his grasp. I stumbled back, nearly falling over the steps behind me.
“Since when are you my grandpa?” I asked, cocking my head to my shoulder. I could feel a teasing smile grow on my lips as I looked at him. His face shifted from being very smug to being shocked. “Yeah, bet you didn’t see that one coming… Did ya, Franklin,” I smiled at him.
Franklin stepped back away from me but kept his stare on my face. “You’re not Hank’s grandkid. I would know when his grandkid would be here,” he pointed at me as he backed away from me. I snickered and shrugged.
“Well, you’d be wrong,” I smiled as I folded my arms over my chest. Franklin looked over his shoulder at his companion, seeking some sort of backup. But it was clear that she had no intentions in answering, she was far too busy just admiring him. How did he not see this as uncomfortable and wrong?
“Aw, now you’re intimidated by the bowling alley girl? I don’t even bowl,” I scoffed before pulling my eyes off him, “I just work here,” I laughed. Franklin looked genuinely offended by my statement. Again, I don’t understand this town’s love for bowling.
“I’m sorry… What did you just say?” he looked at me and furrowed his eyebrows. Oh, I really did offend him… Do I feel sorry? Not really...
“Oh, yeah, you heard that right. It’s stupid. And, frankly, Franklin, I don’t understand how a town so quaint is so obsessed with throwing a ball at some plastic things,” I wrinkled my nose and shook my head. He stepped closer to me, and for the briefest of moments, I wasn’t sure what he was going to do. And suddenly a tension was in the air between us. It was suffocating. “Did I make you mad? Did I piss poor Fwankwin off,” I furrowed my eyebrows and pouted, "Did I huwt your feewings," my head falling back as I broke into a fit of laughter.
“Be quiet,” Franklin scoffed as he stared at me. I felt my smile become a little smug as I looked up at him.
“Oh? Really? Why don’t you make me?” I shrugged and stepped closer to him. We were so close, breathing each other’s air. One step from either of us and our chests would be pressed together. Our toes, however, were touching. His rented bowling shoes barely standing on my canvas shoes.
That was when the air tensed even more. But, the level of tension shifted from an awkwardness… to a certain awkward-sexual tension. I personally loved it because he’s a dick. Men like him need to be messed with. Plus, I’m bored...
“Is that what you want me to do?” his voice was lower than before. My smile fell away and I swallowed roughly. I could feel my heart in my throat, cutting off any words I wanted to say. “Oh, I see how it is. All that snark and attitude is fake. Because the second someone… An older man, maybe, says something… It goes away,” he smirked as he slowly brought a hand to my face. I went to move my face away from his touch, but failed when he forced me to look at him.
“You’re a brat,” he whispered as he kept his eyes on me. A shiver went down my spine and I had to press my legs together, slightly shifting my feet. I stared at him with wide eyes, feeling my breathing pick up slightly.
And the moment was ruined before I even got the chance to say something. It seemed as if we both had forgotten something. Rather, someone.
“We should get going, Franklin,” a voice asked from behind him.
“Fuck,” he muttered as he closed his eyes and pulled his hand from my face. It was obvious we both forgot that someone else was here. We were both so involved with each other that we just forgot about his companion. After a brief moment of awkward silence, he opened his eyes and looked at me, sighing deeply before speaking.
"I'm gonna be here late. You should just go home," Franklin spoke to his companion but kept his eyes strictly on me. His friend looked up at him like he was some sort of celebrity. I wasn’t exactly sure why she was staring at him like that. He wasn’t a god or anything. Unless he was, then I’d be screwed.
"It's okay. I can wait,” she smiled as she longingly looked at him. I looked back at Franklin before nodding to his friend. I’m starting to think she wasn’t even a friend of his… just a creepy and overly-devoted fan. I don’t think Franklin even noticed her obsession. “I’ll always wait for you, Franklin,” she murmured. I shifted on my foot before I stepped back.
“Bomber,” he spoke, turning to look at her. He looked down at her, his eyes telling her to leave. I only know that because Bomber (I suppose that’s her name) gathered her things and quickly left the alley. “Sorry, now where were we, Sunshine?”
“Your friend seems nice,” I muttered, looking away from him for a brief moment. Franklin scoffed out a laugh before shaking his head.
 “She’s not a friend, just a teammate,” his voice was low as he brought a hand back to my face. Part of me was expecting him to be gentle, and I’m not really sure why I thought that. So when he jerked my head back up to look at him, I was left in shock. “But, that wasn’t where we left off. Bomber’s gone now,” he dropped his head down and looked at me through his eyelashes.
“Which means we’re alone now,” I whispered as I kept my eyes on him. He smiled and nodded lightly before bringing my face closer to his.
“Now you’re getting it,” he returned the whisper before harshly pressing his lips to mine. I couldn’t help but moan as he pulled me closer to his body. It was so hard to keep my focus on the world around us. My knees carefully buckled beneath me. If it weren’t for Franklin, I probably would have fallen to the ground. He stood his ground firm, like he was a brick wall in the wind, keeping me upright as I almost fell to the ground.
He moved his face away from mine, but we were still close enough to feel each other’s breath. Franklin moved his free hand to my hip before carefully pushing it past the waistband of my pants. My body shifted slightly, trying to get more of his touch against me.
“The… The door,” I whispered, my eyes going to the door. Although, I truthfully didn’t care too much about the door and it being unlocked. The bowling alley closes in 5 minutes anyways.
“Who cares about the fucking door,” he muttered. I instantly looked back at him, feeling a whimper work its way out of my mouth. Franklin smiled as he moved his hand against the flimsy cotton blocking his hand from where I wanted it most.
“Please,” I whispered, moving my hips against his hand. I hated the way he smiled. Mostly because it only further turned me on.
“Ohh, you’re such a needy slut. So wet and I’ve barely done anything,” he whispered as he squeezed my cheeks again. “You’ll get what you want, in due time,” he smiled. He pushed my underwear to the side and carefully moved his fingers between my folds. I couldn’t help myself as I ground down on his hand.
“Franklin,” I whimpered, my eyebrows furrowing slightly. He smirked, watching as I struggled for a moment. His finger slowly moving around the sensitive bud at the apex of my legs. My hands quickly held his arms, I was worried I’d fall if I didn’t hold onto him. My legs and knees became more and more wobbly as time passed.
“Don’t cum till I tell you you can, Pretty Girl,” he whispered and pouted, “how about you open that pretty little mouth of yours, Sunshine,” he whispered, moving one of his hands to rest on my chin. I widened my eyes and took a deep breath.
I kept my eyes on him, a shaky breath leaving me, as I slowly opened my mouth and stuck my tongue out. Franklin smiled slightly before holding my cheeks and spitting right onto my tongue. He nudged my mouth shut, forcing me to hold his spit in my mouth for a moment. I had to force myself not to gag as I held his spit before swallowing it.
“What a good little whore,” Franklin cooed, cocking his head to his shoulder. I took a shaky breath as his movements in my pants picked up pace. “You enjoyed that, didn’t you?” his eyebrows furrowing slightly as he looked at me. I wanted to have a snarky reply, I really did. But I swear to god, my mouth and body betrayed me because an honest to god moan came from me.
“Oh, you certainly did enjoy that,” he laughed as his movements in between my legs quickened. I looked up at him with wide eyes as a familiar tension grew in my abdomen.
But instead of saying anything else, he just put his mouth over mine, swallowing whatever sounds emitted from my mouth. He smiled, clearly enjoying my mild suffering.
My body struggled to move, almost missing the sign of Franklin moving. On wobbly legs, my feet carried me backwards, and with Franklin's guidance, up the steps. My arms were wrapped around his neck to keep close to him.
I was so close, I could feel the tension about to snap within me. The noises that were coming from me were becoming more desperate the closer I got to the snap. Franklin didn't seem bothered by my sounds at all. In fact, he was amused.
He was so amused, that when he pulled his hands from my pants and pushed me over the counter, he laughed when I cried out. I wasn't sure the sound was from annoyance from him stopping, or from shock from being pushed down over the counter. His hand was firmly placed on my back, keeping me in place.
“What was that for!?” I shouted, trying to stand back up, only to be forced back down by Franklin, “You better do something better than leaving me high and dry! I swear to God!” I shouted as I wiggled my butt into his crotch. A certain hardness pressed into my butt and leg, causing me (and Franklin) to hold back a groan. Franklin’s hand was still around my waist, planted firmly on my hip to hold me against him. “Please, just fuck me already! Fuck!” I shifted my feet a bit and tightly pressed my thighs.
“Oh, no you don’t,” Franklin laughed as he shoved his knee between my legs, blocking his foot between mine to keep my legs apart more, “If you’re going to finish, you’re gonna finish on my cock. You got that, Sunshine?” he groaned as he pressed his front into my butt more. I bit my lips together, nodded and whined, hoping that was a good enough answer. “Uh huh, use your words, Sunshine. Do you understand that?” he asked as he leaned closer to my ear.
“Yes! Yes, I understand! Please,” I whimpered as his grip loosened on my hip and moved to the button of my jeans. I let out a deep relieved sigh as my jeans fell to the ground around my ankles. Although my moment of relief and excitement was cut short by a loud crack in the air, and a sudden pain on my bottom.
“Fuck!” I gasped once I finally regained the ability to talk and breathe. My chest began heaving as my body started to get more worked up. The sudden smack on my ass went straight to my core, causing me to involuntarily moan. Franklin laughed lightly, and I could just see him shaking his head in amusement.
“What do you want, Sunshine?” Franklin asked, his voice low, lower than before. I swallowed roughly before lifting my head slightly.
“Fuck me,” I whispered, trying hard to look over my shoulder at him. His glasses were slipping down his nose, and his hair was covering his eyes. His tongue poked out of the corner of his mouth and swept across his lower lip.
“Wrong,” he muttered before striking my butt again. A pleased shriek fell from my lips as I dropped my head down to the counter. “What do you want,”
“Franklin, please,” my words were soft as my breathing got rougher, “Fuck me, please, do… Do whatever you-you want… To me,” my statement was punctuated by another strike on my ass. A mix of a cry and a moan escaped my lips as he gently rubbed the sore spot on my bottom. But it was only a moment before he smacked my other butt cheek.
“Do it again! Please,” I pulled my lower lip between my teeth. I waited for his hand to make contact with my bare bottom again, but instead, I got nothing. I sucked in a deep breath before letting out a soft whimper, “Please,” I begged as I swayed my hips slightly from side to side. I hoped my begging would have given me what I wanted. But at this point, I’m not sure what I wanted more, to be fucked by him, or to be spanked by him over, and over again.
After he spanked my butt for the 6th time, Franklin’s hand grazed over each cheek before lightly dragging his fingers over my core.
“You’re so wet, Sunshine,” he whispered as he moved his fingers over my cunt. Any response I thought I had gone out the window when he pushed two fingers into my entrance. So, I guess my response came in as a moan. “Fuck,” he groaned with pleasure.
I was in trouble. He knew that too. The way he was playing with me, toying with me to get even the slightest reaction. Trying to get me as close as possible, without actually getting me over the edge. But whenever he curled his fingers just right, or just slightly touched my clit.
“I-I’m so close,” I cried, my body moving closer to him. Franklin laughed again as he pulled his hand away from my body. This was the first time tonight that he wasn’t touching me. His hands were away from me, and as I tried to move closer to him I found nothing.
“Stay still, I want to remember this moment,” Franklin muttered as he rested a hand on my lower back, “Are you ready, Sunshine,” he asked, his tone seemed gentle. I swallowed roughly and nodded.
“Mmm-hmm, yes,” I nodded, feeling my hair move around before finally falling around my face. My body shivered as the sound of his zipper went down. And my body jerked once his hands were on my hips.
I folded my arms on the counter. But what I should have done was brace myself against it in a better way. My body’s excitement was getting the better of me, and I could feel myself stray from the counter, and slowly towards his body.
“Stay still,” he muttered as he pushed me closer to the counter. My lungs ceased to function as I felt him rub the head of his cock against my slit. I choked back a moan and pressed  my lips together. And then he slowly began pushing into my entrance.
“Oh god,” I cried, pressing my face into my arms.
“Name’s Franklin, but God works just fine,” he laughed behind me as he slowed his entrance. I gasped as he stopped, before slamming fully into me in one go. I couldn’t stop the shout that came from the pit of my stomach.
Once we were both used to each other, he started moving, his hips quickly finding a rhythm we were both pleased with. The silent room was quickly occupied by the grunts or moans from its only two occupants, and the sound of skin hitting skin.
I slowly lifted my head, looking out at the bowling alley. Is it bad that I didn’t think that this was weird or bad? That I was being fucked over the counter by a guy I just met? What would my grandfather think if he ever knew about this? Good thing he was never going to find out.
Franklin wrapped my hair around his hand before pulling me back up so my back was flush against his chest. His movements stilled, his hips pressed against mine as he stayed totally in me. My body froze like ice as I tried to take a deep breath. My senses were suddenly overwhelmed, and I honestly loved it.
“Fuck,” I cried, pushing my hips against him to get some sort of relief. But I only groaned as he wrapped an arm around my waist to keep me still as well. “Please,”
“So greedy, so filthy,” Franklin groaned as he buried himself deeper into me. I whimpered as I bit my lips. The bitter, metallic taste of blood found its way to my tastebuds. “How does that feel? Does it feel good,” his voice was so low, nearly a growl in my ear. I sucked in a deep breath of air, slowly turning my face to look at him. “Just holding my cock in you?” he asked before pressing his lips harshly to the side of my face.
“I… I do…” I spoke quickly and in a harsh whisper. My muscles clenched around him, wanting something to give me help for my finish. While Franklin kept his lips pressed to the side of my face, while his hands were otherwise preoccupied. One hand was holding one of my breasts, gently kneading at it. While the other was between my legs, slowly moving around my sensitive bundle of nerves.
“Fuck, please move,” I whimpered, pressing my shoulder into his shoulder a bit more. Franklin removed his hand from my chest before gently pushing me back over the counter. I let out a pleased moan once he started moving his hips again. It only took a matter of moments before the tension in me snapped, sending me over the edge. My vision turned white, and my hands balled into fists, my nails would cause indentations in my palms once my hands relaxed.
And, after a few more faulty thrusts into me, Franklin finished close behind me. His body hunched over mine, his hands holding himself up on the counter beside me. Neither of us wanted to move, still trying to calm down from what just happened. But also, the mess to follow once he finally stepped away from me.
“I didn’t know I needed that,” I truthfully stated. Franklin laughed before standing upright. I’d be lying if I said I wanted him to step away from me. So when he eventually did, I held back the whimper.
“Paper towels?” he asked as he fixed himself back into his pants. I swallowed roughly as I blindly pointed towards where I was cleaning the rental bowling shoes. He stepped away from me, going to grab the things he sought after.
The mixture of the two of us slowly leaked down my inner thigh, and I just knew that mess would not be fun to clean, now or later. When Franklin returned and wiped a damp paper towel up my thigh, I jumped.
“Did you enjoy that?” I asked as he helped me stand up straight. My legs and knees were so shaky, I almost fell. He wrapped his arms around me to keep me upright. I only struggled a little bit to pull my jeans and underwear back up, but I was very relieved when they were back around my waist.
“I had a great time,” he laughed. I swallowed roughly before stepping back away from him. I hoisted myself up so I was sitting on the counter, only to let out a sharp cry and jump off the counter. How the fuck did I forget about the pain on my ass?
“Did it feel like winning?” I asked, feeling a smile grow on my lips. Franklin looked up at me with a sly smile, cocking his head to his shoulder.
“I always win in this bowling alley, Sunshine,” he muttered as he stared at me. I blinked slowly. “Except for that one time. But every time after… Always a win,”
Her voice came from behind the wooden frame quietly. "...yes..."
Tommy hurriedly cleared his throat. "It's-it's alright, Oreole, this is Tubbo-he's super nice."
"I am."
"No huwt."
"I...am?"
"It's what she says to make sure you won't hurt her." Techno muttered under his breath to Tubbo.
"No, he won't. No hurt. It's alright. Now, why don't we get you back to bed alright?" Phil assured her.
Another chapter of Surprisingly Familiar. Time to write for Grifter again!!!
hermit Tommy au is by @petrichormeraki and @helleborusangel gets tagged in my writing because I can.
Grian groaned as he woke up. It sounded like someone was up pretty early, and based on the fact that he seemed to be the only one in bed, he had a guess as to who it was. He was too tired to look at the time, but either way it was supposed to be the weekend and he wasn’t awake enough to be his normal wake up.
“What’re you doing?” Grian asked tiredly, wrapping himself in the covers more. “Come back to bed. ‘M feelin’ cold.”
Grian was glad to hear footsteps, but then realized they didn’t sound right. He turned in bed to face the source before opening his eyes and then finding himself face to face with the minimalist image of a face with a mustache.
Grian tried to jump back, but that was hard due to still being in bed. He still moved back some, and was able to see the image seemed to belong to a screen that was attached to a robot. “Dad! He’s awake now! I think I scawed him a wittwe!”
Grian didn’t pay attention to any answer as he looked around the room. He was in a large fancy king sized bed in a room that matched it. In other words, this was not his normal bedroom. Grian tried to get up out of the bed, but the robot pushed him back down, being much stronger than him despite being smaller.
As the robot’s hand kept him in bed, Grian started struggling, trying to find some way to escape. He wasn’t going to let himself be stuck in a place like this. If he just had something to use against the robot, maybe he could get out, but his punches and kicks did nothing except leave himself in pain.
“Stowp stwuggwing. You’we gonna huwt youwself awnd Dad’s nowt gonna wike thawt at aww.”
That just made Grian struggle harder. “Well I don’t care! I’d rather not be kidnapped and want to go home. If you want I could just scream bloody murder until someone shows up!”
“Thawt pwobabwy won’t work.”
“What, is that normal here?” Grian asked jokingly, but then was disappointed to see the robot nod. “Oh course it is.”
“If uwu don’t twy weaving, I’m gonna get my Dad. Awnd even if uwu twy, Seftew’s pwobabwy going tuwu stowp uwu.”
“Lovely.” Grian deadpanned, and then the robot left. Despite the warning, Grian still tried to leave, but found his escape blocked by another similar robot, though it was different enough that it couldn’t be the first one again. When it saw Grian, it stared him down until he reluctantly went back to the bed and sat there pouting.
He had to wait a bit while sitting there, lying back down at one point, but eventually the door opened again. Instead of the heavy metallic footsteps of the robot, they sounded much more like a human’s. They cleared their throat to get Grian’s attention, but he wasn’t really in a hurry to give them that. “So, mind telling me what you kidnapped me for?”
“You’re the one who was napping.” The person replied, and Grian’s eyes widened before he sat up. Standing there was himself, well, their face was definitely his. They seemed to be a few inches taller, red sweater replaced by a green tunic shirt, and black wings just barely visible folded up behind their back. “I was just trying to help.”
“What- but- why do you look like-” Grian fumbled out, mind trying to wrap around what he was seeing. “Dad?”
There was silence before the person held in some laughter, well, tried and failed. “No. No I’m definitely not dad. Absolutely not. I mean you’re close I guess, but he’s more blond than mousy brown.”
“But you look like him!” Grian argued. “I mean, he wore green a lot, and he’s got black wings. Wait are you related to him?”
“Yeah. Let’s see. I’ve got a dad and mum, one of which is literally death, I’m a triplet with two brothers, and then we’ve got a younger brother who was really little when I went missing from the rest of my family at the age of seven, living at a high school with a pair of friends, if you can call them that, and just trying to survive.”
“But that’s-” Grian started, before getting cut off.
“The same as you, right?” The person asked, sitting down on the bed. “And the answer of why should be obvious.”
“Are you…? Are you me? Like, me but older and from another dimension or something.”
“Or something. It’s a bit complicated with everything that happened.”
“Okay. And you’ve got robots. Why do they have mustaches?”
“To match their dad.” The person replied.
Grian’s eyes widened. “Wait, Taurtis has a mustache?!”
The other person’s eyes widened. “No. It’s not- I’m not with- Taurtis is…”
“What do you mean you’re not with Taurtis?” Grian asked, now very confused. “Did you break up or something? Or I guess did we break up… this is weird.”
“No. I didn’t break up with him. I… I didn’t want to… he was just…” the other person said, face falling. “When he stopped mo-“ and they cut themselves off. “Ignore that.”
“Were you- is… is Taurtis dead?”
“Uh, no. No he’s not dead. Just…”
“Oh my god…” Grian said, slumping down. “Taurtis…. Taurtis is… h-how did he…?” The person didn’t answer. “What happened to your Taurtis?”
“He and… and my Sam. Well we found something we shouldn’t have, and then I was the one to leave.”
Grian didn’t say anything else, just stayed silent. On one hand, this meant Sam was dead too, so he wouldn’t be causing any problems. But Taurtis. Taurtis was gone and he wasn’t coming back. Wouldn’t come back. Why had he even come to a future as horrible as this? But then he had a thought. “What happened to Taurtis?”
The other him was briefly taken aback by the suddenly serious tone. “I said. Essentially we messed with higher beings that shouldn’t be messed with.”
“Then what.”
“Well, they wanted one of us for something, but they didn’t tell us who or for what. Next thing I know, I’ve got blood on my hands and the other two are dead. I didn’t really get to do anything before I was dragged away.”
Grian nodded, completely quiet. The other Grian almost said something, but the look he was given stopped that. “That didn’t happen yet for me. If I get back, I can stop that, right?”
The other Grian blinked. “I mean, I’m not sure if it would work that way. I mean, I don’t remember getting pulled into the future when I was still in high school.”
“So it could work.”
“If we can get you back to that time, yeah, probably. But that’s if it will even work. I mean, since then I’ve learned magic, but I’ve never been able to really go back in time like that.”
“Well, maybe I should stay with you a bit longer, at least so I could have a chance by knowing what’s supposed to happen.” Grian said, trying to cling onto some sort of hope.” And you wouldn’t lie about it to make me feel better, right?”
“Hey, would I lie to me?” The other Grian said, sounding as genuine as he could muster. “Telling you about it is nicer than actually going through it, so of course I’ll tell you.”
“Thanks. So uh, where are we by the way?” Grian asked, looking around the room.
“We’re sort of in my castle.” Grifter replied. “Welcome to the NSMP!”
.
.
.
Tommy was woken up by someone shaking him awake. He groaned a little, wishing he could stay in bed a bit more, but then he recognized the hands. “Grum? What’s up?”
“Dad’s been kidnapped.” Grum responded, panic in his voice. “I-It was Grifter. He was here and we didn’t know, and now he took Dad away. And then everyone started arguing and you weren’t around so I came looking for you.”
Tommy pulled himself out of bed the rest of the way. “Where’s Jrum? Why isn’t he here too?”
“He’s still with Daddy. He went to get Kokatori, which I think is good since I guess he’s warming up to them.” Grum explained, and Tommy nodded, pulling out his comm and looking at the messages in chat.
“Hey, why the fuck is Grian’s old name in there?” Tommy asked, making Grum shrug. “Well that’s not fucking good. Where’s everyone at?”
“Still over where the party was unless they’ve moved since then.” Grum answered.
“Alright, here, hold this.” Tommy said before putting Tubbee in Grum’s arms and then slinging the robot over his shoulder. “Let’s see if people will tell us shit about what’s going on. Can you message them that we’re on our way?”
Grum said yes and a few moments later Tommy felt his comm buzz, followed by Tubbee buzzing in response and Grum giggling at that. Good. With whatever was going on, it was a good idea to keep traumatized kids distracted. Tommy definitely didn’t know that from experience.
A quick trek through the nether got them back to Aque Town, where everyone was in a bit of a crowd. Tommy set Grum down on a bench nearby before pushing his way through the crowd, though most of the Hermits didn’t really need to pushed aside to let him through, doing it willingly. When he finally reached the center, he frowned upon seeing the group in the middle.
Xisuma and Mumbo were there of course since it involved Grian. Phil and Paul were also there, arguing a bit. Then, there was also someone Tommy didn’t recognize at all, who seemed to just be standing there awkwardly. “Hey, you in the bathrobe. What the fuck’s going on around here?”
Xisuma and Phil each tried to give some sort of explanation to Tommy, but he just stopped them. “Hey! I asked shower boy, not you shits. Obviously he’s important if he’s right here, but no one’s really dealing with him, so you go back to yelling while I give him something to do.”
“We weren’t fucking yelling-” Phil started to say, but then Tommy shushed him.
“Alright, what do you think happened?” Tommy asked the guy in the robe.
“Well, I was asked here by King Soares for some task. I met the local hedgewizard and we proceeded to have a magic duel. To make a long story short, I defended against an attack, the hedgewizard tried to stop my attack, and a Watcher intervened which seemed to cause some sort of issue with the Listener and now he’s gone.”
“Wait, you think Grian was a Listener?” Mumbo spoke up, making the robe man nod.
“Of course. The magic was coming from his direction and matched his magical signature well.”
“Alright, so this is all Grifter’s fault.” Tommy spoke up. “Grifter is like… an evil alternate version of Grian. Grian’s a Watcher while Grifter’s a Listener.”
The hooded man’s eyes widened and he nodded in understanding. To the side, Paul pushed away from Phil. “Wait, this whole time Grian was one of the Watchers here?”
Tommy nodded. “Yeah. His kids are too.” And that seemed to shock Paul more as he went to sit on the ground rather than stand, not trusting his legs.
Before anyone else in the group could say anything, Jrum ran in, holding Kokatori above his head. “The chicken doesn’t know anything which I think is weird!”
“Why the fuck would the chicken know anything?” Tommy asked, a bit confused.
“Because it’s not a chicken.” Phil was the one to speak up, Paul nodding to agree. “The question is how it even got here in the first place, because while it might not know what happened with Grian, any information it’s got could help.”
“You’re not seriously suggesting we interrogate a chicken, right?” Tommy asked, but the serious looks that Paul and Phil and even the magic guy’s faces told him otherwise. “How do you even do that?”
Paul stood back up and cracked his neck, which seemed to actually scare Kokatori. “I’ve got a couple options.” The chicken struggled a bit in Jrum’s arms before Paul grabbed its neck and pulled it out of the bot’s arms. “You want to do this the easy way or the hard way?”
The chicken struggled a bit more before hissing and then shooting something out of its beak. That caught a number of people off guard, but not Paul, even though what vaguely resembled a dart had stuck itself into his neck. “This isn’t gonna get any easier for you. It’s almost night and I think training some kids for their interrogation badges could be a good way to pass the time. Torture too if they don’t have them yet.”
“I’m sorry, do you mean badges as in…?” Tommy asked, trailing off.
“He means boy scouts, yeah.” Cleo was the one to answer, which surprised Tommy. “He’s sort of an honorary troop leader for them.”
“Yeah, the kids love me.” Paul chuckled, then looked around. “By the way, does anyone have any milk? I’m losing feeling in my legs.”
Hoodie went to Paul’s side a moment later and cast a spell, making everyone notice that he had gotten a bit pale after the chicken, or whatever it was, attacked him. “So, If I may ask, what exactly is this creature?” Xisuma spoke up, worried about whatever it was being on his server.
“Cockatrice.” Paul replied. “Belongs to someone I know.”
“I’m guessing that they’re not really a friend of yours, huh?” Tommy asked, earning a nod from the man.
“Yeah. Kokatori’s his main ‘chicken’, which makes it more odd that they’re all the way out here and not with him. How long have they been around Grian?”
“Maybe about two weeks.” Mumbo answered. “Everything was a bit of a mess around here recently. Grum and Jrum got stranded in another world and we had a number of issues getting them back. Somewhere near the end of all that, this chicken, or I guess, this cockatrice, showed up.”
“Good to know. Anyone got questions they want answered?”
“Well, I would say ‘where’s Grian’, but if Grifter is involved, he’s likely in Helscraft.” Mumbo responded. “It still would be nice to know why, though.”
Paul nodded and looked back to the mob. “Well, you heard him. What’s the answer?” And he glared at the cockatrice, which gave a feeble chirp of sorts. “Wrong answer, try again.”
“Wait, you understand it?” Tommy asked, making Paul nod. “How?”
“Deal with them as long as I have and you pick up some things. So, what’s the answer?” And again the cockatrice gave a feeble cluck, though this time with a hiss. “Last chance.” Another hiss, and then Paul sighed. “Alright, so somehow it doesn’t know. Koka was just ordered to keep an eye on this place, so they don’t know what’s going on with Grian.”
“What do you know then?” Tommy asked, getting closer to the mob. “Because I bet you’re not completely fucking clueless.”
Paul nodded. “Nice and to the point, I like it.” The cockatrice clucked and hissed a bit. “Alright, it noticed Grifter lurking around a little bit, but didn’t see him actually doing much because it was around, guess he doesn’t like chickens. Anyway, he was trying to get Grian for something, but for what they don’t know, just something.”
“Well, that’s better than nothing I guess.” Tommy said, and then there were more noises from the cockatrice. “What did that bitch say now?”
“Stuff about Punchwood.” Paul said, a dark look on his face.
“Who the fuck is Punchwood?”
Paul looked up. “You’ve been calling them hels versions? Well, I’m pretty sure he’s mine. I’ve known about him for a long time. He likes to send chickens to spy on me and others and I’ve had to make excuses about him showing up more than once. Technically people know me by either Paul Soares or Pablo Punchwood. That’s because he showed up and made a mess of things. Since then I’ve used the name Pablo Punchwood as a sort of alternate name, and so everyone assumes that the first Pablo to show up was me doing an editing gag as a promotional piece.”
“So your hels version is making a mess out of things?” Phil was the one to speak up this time. “Wait, I half met mine not too long ago and he was death instead of Kristen. Does that mean-” Paul nodded. “Well shit.”
“Well, if we end up dealing with him, we’re gonna need to get prepped.” Paul said, finally letting Kokatori go. It didn’t have freedom for too long though, as almost immediately Jrum grabbed it again. “Phil, Doc and Wels can lead a number of teams to get properly prepped. While I’m sure a number of you can prep well on your own, I don’t really trust you with a team.”
“Hey! That’s- You know that’s fair.” Bdubs was the one to speak up.
“Hoodie, while I’m sure your magic would be helpful, I know we’re going to need it to help Grian and it would also be good to keep this place safe. If anything happens, you have a way to contact us of course.”
“Then I will do what I can to assist those staying behind, sir.”
“Why the fuck do we need to prep?” Tommy spoke up, making people turn to him. “He’s in Helscraft. We know enough people there that are on our side, and more that while they’re not on our side, they hate Grifter more, and right now he’s the problem. Let’s just get over there first before we try figuring things out, especially since they could help us get gear.”
“Tommy, it’s not that simple.” Phil was the one to speak up, but was then cut off again.
“Why not? We just showed up there last time and we were fine.”
“Yeah, because we weren’t going in there alone and weren’t dealing with Grian’s Hels version. I think you saw what he did to the SMP.”
Tommy frowned. “Yeah, because we didn’t know he was gonna show up, but now we do. And sure, we still might need to prepare or whatever, but the more time we take to do that, the more time he has to do whatever the fuck he’s up to.”
“Tommy.” Xisuma was the one to speak up this time. “While I know the past few hours, Paul hasn’t seemed the most trustworthy, the other hermits seem to trust him and he does know what’s going on. None of us know exactly what’s going on here, so preparing in advance for anything is going to be our best bet.”
“I don’t want to waste any fucking time preparing for something that might not even happen!”
“Then let’s try and make it quicker.” Paul spoke up, looking up at the sky where the moon was rising. He put two fingers in his mouth and let out a large sharp whistle. At first, nothing happened, but then there was suddenly a crowd of baby zombies coming over to the group of hermits. A number of the hermits pulled out weapons, ready to fight, Phil also getting out a sword of his own, but Paul just stepped closer to the crowd of zombies and knelt down in front of the one at the front of the group. “Hey Bub.”
“Heya Mister!” The zombie spoke, which caught a few of the hermits off guard. “What’s going on?”
“Well first of all, I heard you got a new member related to Cleo here.” Paul said, gesturing to the zombified hermit.
“Oh yes! He’s already doing a lot! We’re even scheduled to go on a week-long trip to a scout camp to earn plenty of badges and he’s signed up for seven badges!”
Paul chuckled. “Good for him. Say, I’m sure plenty of you guys have your badges already, but I’m dealing with Punchwood again and I’ve got some friends that need to properly gear up.” He said, gesturing to the hermits.
The baby zombie nodded. “Say no more Mister Soares sir! As long as you sign our blue cards, we’re happy to help!”
“Alright.” Paul said, standing back up. “Let’s get to work.”
.
Perfect Sense looked back and forth between Grifter and the shorter, more angry looking copy of him that was standing to the side. “What. The hell. Is this? I though-!”
Before Sense could say more, Grifter started pulling him into another room. “If you want to shout, let’s go to another room before you accidentally scare someone!”
Sense sputtered at the accusation. “Accidentally scare someone? I wouldn’t do that!” He got out before the door shut behind him and viridian magic appeared around it. “It’s always on purpose!”
Grifter grabbed Sense’s tie and pulled him down into a kiss. “Oh I know, but Grian doesn’t know that.”
Sense looked back to the door. “So that was him. Why is he here and not locked up like he was supposed to be, hmm? You’re just letting him stand there, completely conscious, nothing stopping him from using magic.”
Grifter rocked on his feet. “Well, he actually can’t use magic because he doesn’t know he has any.”
“What.”
Grifter stopped rocking to look Sense in the eye. “Okay, so I know the plan was to kidnap and trap him, and we still might do that. But stuff happened.”
“And by stuff… you mean?”
“Okay so I get there and they’re having a party for their Grifect because it’s his birthday or something. I think it’s perfect to kidnap him from because the chaos will hide his disappearance. And then I run into a chicken.”
Sense facepalmed. “Oh dear lord, tell me you didn’t.”
“I didn’t! I just hid, no screaming. And that definitely wasn’t a normal chicken. Those eyes weren’t right. But anyway, then I moved and then I saw Punch!” Grifter said, shouting a bit. Sense also was surprised, but before he could comment, Grifter continued. “Apparently it was actually his wels counterpart, which is so much better, and then he messed with things so I couldn’t get Grian because then the chicken was watching him. And that thing scaled a fucking building, it’s not a normal chicken. I mean it’s worse than a blucker.”
“A-alright.” Sense said, just a little bit confused, then he looked back at the door. “But what about Grian?”
“Shit, right. Anyway, follow Tommy because he leaves alone. I try to figure out if he knows anything, but doesn’t look like it. I go back, and then there’s another new guy! He’s got magic shit and I’m pretty sure he’s working with not-Punch and then Grian’s nearby. I’m worried he’s going to do something to Grian so I just try a little spell to maaaaybe leave him unconscious for a day or two or something. But then he reacts and attacks back before I can get the spell out, and then their Scar is doing magic, and then Grian interferes and now poof! He’s a kid! So I dragged him here before anyone could notice and he woke up, saw me, and assumed he’s in the future since I’m also here.”
“So, he doesn’t know who you are?” Sense asked with a slight tilt of his head.
“No! So as far as he knows I’m future him and I know what’s going to happen. I just try to remember what’s different between here and wels based on what he says and it works fine. He has no clue he’s still got Watcher magic because that won’t fucking go away, but I can work with that! If he remembers, we shove him in the Anesi box and take it from there. But for now…”
“What do you need?”
“I need to go threaten some people so they don’t ruin some things. I want you to stay with Grian and get his trust. He’s already influenced into thinking he’ll love you since I do, but still play it a little safe. And if necessary, say that I don’t like to talk about my past too much.”
Sense nodded and the magic was lifted from the door. Grifter opened the door again and grabbed the redstoner’s hand to pull him out. “Feeling calmer now?”
“I… yes. I apologize if I scared you at all.” Sense said before getting an elbow in the ribs for him to be less formal.
“It’s okay.” Grian said, though he didn’t look like he was, still glaring a bit. “So, you’re Sense?”
“Perfect Sense, at your service Grian.” And Sense took Grian’s hand and kissed the back of it.
“Seesee, you’re going to make me jealous of myself.” Grifter said with a little giggle. “And don’t make him uncomfortable with that.”
“N-no. It’s fine.” Grian said, taken aback by what just happened. “Um, should I just go by Xelqua so you can tell us apart?”
“Well, Gri had a nickname some people use. A bit of an inside joke. Of course, people still might call him Grian, so you using Xelqua should be fine.”
“What do they use?” Grian asked, worried about what it might be.
“Grifter. And he’s completely fine with it.”
Grian nodded. “Okay. I just thought it might be something else.”
“It’s not.” Grifter said, teeth gritting slightly. “No one’s used that name in years.”
“Gri, are you-” Sense started, but then Grifter was off. “Well, I suppose he does still have things to do. Why don’t I show you around then?”
Grian looked to where Grifter stormed off before back to Sense. “That sounds good. I’m sure he’ll want some time to himself.”
“I suppose you would know that, wouldn’t you?” Sense said with a smile. “Well then, let me show you around the castle. I’m sure you’ll love it here. By the way, Gri didn’t say, how old are you at this point?”
“Eighteen. I’m legally an adult so you don’t need to baby me. I just got pushed back a few years, I’ve still got more high school to deal with, but I’m hoping I can find a way to graduate early.”
Sense nodded, making sure he was behind Grian so he couldn’t see his smile. “Well, I suppose you’re out of there now. Now I can’t remember if we have any guest rooms available, but if not, we can always add a bed in our own room. It’s large enough for that.”
“That sounds good. I was in there earlier and it did look pretty big.” Grian nodded, oblivious to what exactly he was getting into.
Part 1  Part 2  Part 3  Part 4  Part 5  Part 6  Part 7
Part 8 here we go!!!
The first question out of Dominique’s mouth was where the children were. Roger assured her they were safe at home. Then he asked what everyone wanted to know. What had happened to her?
She explained once the doctor and nurses were in the room. The man she was on a date with was named Nick Sully. They met at a bar, had a few drinks, and flirted. He offered to drive her home. Once they were in the car, he made a sexual advance. When she refused him, he hit her. She hit him back. Then there was an intense struggle. Dominique said that he finally slammed her head into the car door and that was the last thing she remembered.
The whole time she spoke, you watched Roger. His frown deepened as his free hand clenched into a tight fist. His knuckles were white with the pressure. You could tell he was struggling to maintain his composure. You tore your eyes from his face and looked at Dom.
“Do you want to press charges?” you asked.
“I dunno…” she began. “I don’t want to see him ever again, and going through all that will be so...I dunno…”
“Dom -” Roger began, but you cut him off.
“Think about it,” you said gently to her. “It’s entirely your decision. Just do what’s best for you right now.”
“Thanks, Y/N,” she said. “I’m so tired. Is it alright if I go back to sleep?”
“Of course,” said the doctor. “Sleep as much as you want, and call the nurse if you need anything at all.”
He and the nurse smiled, nodded, and left. Dominique looked at Roger, who was fuming.
“I’m sorry, Roger,” she said. “I should have given you some idea of who I was with or I where I’d be.”
“Don’t you dare apologize,” he returned shakily. “This isn’t your fault.”
The corners of her mouth turned up in an almost laugh. “Alright then. Thanks for being here.”
“Of course,” he replied.
“We’ll let you rest now,” you said.
“Perfect,” she sighed. “And, Rog? Will you do something for me?”
“Anything,” he said.
“Will you go home?” she asked. “Be with the kids? Make sure they’re alright?”
“Are you sure?” he questioned. “I can stay, Verity’s got them.”
“I know, but they need their father,” she insisted. “I’m in good hands, Rog. Please.”
“Alright,” he said begrudgingly. “But I’m coming back tonight.”
She smiled. “Thank you.”
You said your goodbyes. Roger cleaned up the mess from the salad before you left, and then, he walked with you to your office. You stopped outside the door and looked at him. He was still distracted.
“Roger,” you said, and he looked at you. “She’s going to be okay. The fact that she’s awake means everything.”
“I know,” he returned, stuffing his hands in his pockets.
“Then what’s the matter?” you asked.
“Her hesitation to press charges,” he said. “It’s like I said before, she can’t let him get away with this.”
“You can’t force her if it’s not what she wants,” you reminded him. “Although, the longer she waits the harder it will be to make the case.”
“I just don’t want this animal out on the streets,” he sighed. “Guys like that will do it again, I know it...”
You studied his face some more as he continued to speak. It seemed he had aged five years in the last two days. There were heavy bags beneath his red and puffy eyes. He had less color in his cheeks. New lines had appeared over his brows.
“Y/N?” he said, bringing you out of your trance.
“How long has it been since you’ve slept?” you asked. “I mean, really slept?”
He ran a hand through his hair. “I dunno...I’ve dozed here and there at the hospital, but I haven’t gotten much rest with the staff in and out of the room.”
“Roger, go home and get proper sleep,” you said. “If you’re going to support Dominique through this, you’ll need all your strength. And your children need you too.”
He forced a smile. “You’re right. Thanks, Y/N.”
“Of course,” you returned.
He toed the ground with his shoe for a moment before meeting your gaze again.
“I know things between us are…”
“We don’t need to talk about this now,” you stopped him. “You and I are just fine, okay? There’s nothing to worry about.”
“Well, even so,” he said. “I won’t make the mistake of growing apart from you again. Come have dinner tonight at the house, yeah?”
You smiled. “Of course.”
He hugged you tightly. You watched as he hailed a cab, and waved to him as the driver pulled away. With a sigh, you went back in to work.
Roger felt heavy. His eyelids, his limbs, his heart. It was all weighing down as if he had sandbags tied to every atom. He was eager to get home and sleep. It was hitting him all at once how exhausted his body was from all the worry.
When he walked through the door, the house was quiet. He walked into the kitchen. The sound of his shoes padding against the tile sounded so loud.
“Hello?” he called out.
Verity appeared from the living room.
“Welcome back, Roger,” she said. “How’s Dom?”
“She woke up,” he told her. “So everything’s fine. Where are the kids?”
“They’re upstairs napping,” she said. “Sleeping like little kittens.”
He smiled to himself. “Right. Well, I’ll just go have a look at them.”
He headed upstairs to the nursery. The door opened with a light creak as he poked his head in. Rory was in her crib, looking peaceful, her little chest rising and falling with each breath. Roger took a moment to admire her face. Then he turned to see Felix in his bed, also sound asleep. He knelt in front of his son and looked at him as well. Felix resembled Dominique in his face. He had her forehead and nose. He had Roger’s mouth, but Dominique’s dark hair. These two babies were the most precious thing Roger had in his life, and now the woman who had given them to him was broken in a hospital bed.
He was hit with an overwhelming wave of gratitude. Yes, Dominique was hurt, but she was alive. She would see her children again. It made a lump form in his throat and his eye sting with hot tears.
Felix stirred and his eyes fluttered open. He saw his father in front of him, looking down at the floor.
“Daddy?”
Roger took a deep breath and blinked back the tears.
“Sorry, bud,” he said gently. “Didn’t mean to wake you.”
“Daddy, awe you huwting somwhewe?”
Roger shook his head. “Not at all. These are happy tears. Mum’s getting better.”
Felix smiled. “Thank goodness.”
Roger’s own smile widened. “Yes, lovie.”
“Daddy, tiwed?”
Roger nodded. “Very tired.”
Felix scooted over and patted the little spot next to him. Roger chuckled and lifted his son out of the bed, crawled in and reclined on his back. He rested Felix against his chest. Felix snuggled down and let out a soft sigh as he drifted back to sleep. Roger followed behind. He could close his eyes at last.
When you arrived at Roger’s that night, he was already halfway through dinner. Rory was in her high chair, smashing Cheerios with her little fist. Felix was in a booster seat, drinking milk out of a sippy cup. He slammed it down excitedly when he saw you.
“Miss Y/N!” he cried.
“Hi, Felix,” you said sweetly. “How nice to see you again!”
“Gabah!” Rory interjected, squirming in her chair.
“And hello to you too, Rory,” you said to her.
Roger walked over and set a plate of macaroni down in front of Felix. Then he looked at you.
“Hello, love,” he said.
He walked around his son’s chair and gave you a quick peck on the lips. You smiled into him.
“You’ve cheered up,” you observed as he returned to the stove.
“The doctor called about an hour ago and assured me that Dominique’s going to recover,” he said. “They ran a few more tests, and there won’t be any permanent damage.”
“That’s great news!” you cried. “Oh, Roger, I’m so happy!”
“Me too,” he sighed with relief. “I’m going to go back and be with her tonight, but I can’t even begin to express how grateful I am.”
“I bet,” you said. “So is Verity coming back to stay the night?”
He nodded. “Yeah, she’s been amazing. I will definitely be giving her a raise after all this.”
“She’s earned it,” you agreed. “Now, what’s for dinner?”
He beamed and proudly told you what he had made. It was delicious, of course. You ate together with the kids, and Roger let you feed Rory. She was very sweet and laughed a lot. You noticed how like Roger she looked - little tufts of blonde hair, big blue eyes, a button nose, and a wide smile.
“Let’s clean you up, darling,” you cooed, dabbing at her face with a napkin.
She allowed it, drooling a little.
“You’re so good with them,” Roger observed. “So natural.”
“I love children,” you replied. “And I’ve found that if you don’t look at caring for them as something scary, you’ll have an easier time of it. They’re not a challenge, they’re an opportunity to show some love.”
“Wise words,” he said.
“There!” you told Rory, finishing up. “There’s a gorgeous girl!”
She beamed at you, her whole face scrunching up as she giggled. You wrinkled your nose back at her and chuckled lightly. Roger watched, feeling an ache in his heart. He found himself wishing desperately that you were the mother of his children. Life was so easy with you. How could he have ever thought he needed something else?
He was struck with this feeling throughout the evening. During bath time when you gave Felix a shampoo mohawk. Again when it was time to read them a story, and you made both the children howl with laughter at all the voices you did. And then, after he had tucked Felix in, he turned around and saw you rocking Rory in your arms and humming to her before kissing her head and laying her in her crib.
“Okay,” you sighed as you closed the nursery door. “Are you off to hospital again?”
“Yeah, there’s just one more thing I need to take care of,” he said.
“What’s that?” you wondered.
“I need to kiss the bloody life out of you.”
He took your face in his hands and kissed you deeply. Your eyes fell closed in his embrace as he backed you up against the wall. His lips pressed into yours just as his body pressed against yours. Your head felt fuzzy and light. Your body grew hot from the friction. You whimpered into his mouth.
“You’re so beautiful, Y/N,” he breathed into your neck. “God, I….”
He pulled away and looked into your eyes. A fire surged behind his that you had not seen in a long time.
“Yes?” you pressed, bringing a hand to his chest. You felt his rapid heartbeat beneath your hand.
“I love you,” he said. “I always have. And I think now I always will.”
A delighted smile spread across your lips.
“I love you too, Roger,” you said. “So much.”
He kissed you again, smiling against your mouth. You were just the same. Your heart swelled like a crescendo in a love song. This was how it was meant to be. You and Roger. Forever and ever.
But.
There was still a lot to consider.
“Rog,” you laughed as he nipped at your ear lobe. “Rog, slow down.”
He pulled back again to look at you.
“What is it, love?”
“We can’t do this tonight,” you told him. “You’ve got to go be with Dom, who you are still married to, by the way.”
He lowered his eyes, disappointed. You took his chin in your thumb and forefinger and made him face you again.
“This isn’t a rejection,” you assured him. “I want to. Believe me, I want to. But until your divorce is finalized, and things with Dominique are settled, we need to wait.”
He held your gaze.
“Are you sure?” he asked, his fingers brushing your thigh.
You shivered, doubting yourself for a split second. You shook your head and cleared your throat.
“Yes, Roger, I’m sure,” you said firmly.
“Well, it was worth a shot,” he teased, backing away from you.
You giggled. “I’ll stop by the hospital some time this week, alright?”
“Sounds good,” he agreed. “I know Dom would love to see you.”
“I’d love to see her as well,” you replied. “And we need to tell her about us.”
“Yeah, I agree,” he said. “We’ll tell her when you come.”
You raised an eyebrow. “What should we say?”
“We’ll tell her the truth,” he said. “That we’ve kissed twice and have decided to be together, but we’ll take things slow.”
“Good,” you said. “And none of this in front of her, I don’t want to rub it in her face or anything.”
“Well, you weren’t so particular about kissing her in front of me,” he teased.
You snorted. “That was different and you know it!”
You laughed together for a long moment. When you settled down, you held each other’s gaze.
“I really have missed you, Y/N,” he said, tracing your jawbone with his finger. “To have you back now of all times...it feels like fate.”
“You’ve never believed in that,” you reminded him.
“Nah,” he conceded. “You’re the one thing I really believe in.”
You smiled. “That’s very sweet, Roger. Thank you.”
As badly as you wanted to stay and give in to your desire for him, you knew you had to go. He ordered a car for you and walked you to the door. There, he kissed your forehead and said goodnight. It made you feel warm all the way down to your toes.
“Goodnight,” you returned softly.
He eased into a smile that was so reminiscent of his days as a teenager, it took your breath away.
Then, with one last embrace, you parted. You waved to him as the car pulled away, questioning yourself once again. You shook your head. This was the right decision.
A few days passed. Roger called you almost every night though, and he would update you on Dominique’s condition. Her bruises were healing, and most of her swelling had gone down. She had suffered a concussion though, so she would be monitored for a little longer.
You decided to go and visit on Thursday. You found yourself oddly nervous to tell Dominique about you and Roger. You knew that she understood, but you couldn’t shake the feeling that she’d be hurt, at least a little. How could she not be? Now, when she needed her husband more than ever, he was in love with someone else. It made you feel guilty and a bit dirty.
“Knock, knock,” you said cheerfully as you entered her room.
“Hey, Y/N,” she said with a smile.
“You’re looking much better!” you praised.
“Thanks,” she chuckled. “I’m feeling a lot better too.”
“That’s sensational!” you cried.
“Y/N, why are you shouting?” Roger questioned.
“Sorry,” you said, clearing your throat. “Just excited.”
“You’re nervous,” he observed, a teasing lilt to his voice.
“I am not!” you insisted.
Dominique laughed. “Relax, Y/N. Roger’s already told me everything.”
“H-he has?”
“Mhm,” she said. “And really, I’m happy for you both.”
You looked at her, brow furrowed. “Are you sure?”
She giggled. “Yes, I’m sure. I may not be in love with Roger anymore, but I do care for him and I want him to be happy.”
You sighed. “That’s a relief.”
“I appreciate your concern for me,” she told you. “But you don’t need to worry. I want you to be happy too.”
You beamed at her. “Thank you, Dom.”
You took a seat beside Roger and you all chatted for a while. Dominique was desperate to know about the kids, but she didn’t want them to see her like this. She thanked you for helping Roger with them, and you assured her it was no problem. You were getting ready to leave and head back to work when Officers Colmes and Dotson appeared.
“Mrs. Beyrand?” said Colmes. “We’ve come to speak to you about your case.”
“Oh,” Dominique said. “What about it?”
“Well from the evidence on your dress and your testimony, we were able to arrest Nick Sully,” he told her. “But, we can only go forward if you’re prepared to press charges.”
You and Roger exchanged a nervous look. Up until now, Dominique had expressed a desire to let it go and move on, which infuriated Roger. You both turned eyes on her. Her mouth turned down with determination and her eyes were fierce.
“I want to press charges,” she said. “I want to get him.”
Roger released a breath he didn’t realize he was holding. As Colmes began explaining to Dominique the next steps, Roger looked at you.
“You’ll represent her, won’t you?” he asked.
“Roger, I’ve already told you, I’m not a prosecutor,” you reminded him. “Bill was before he started the firm, so he might be able to help.”
“We’ll speak to him,” he said. “But, Y/N, you’re our friend.”
“I know, but that might make things even worse,” you said. “But I promise you will do everything I can to get you the best representation possible, okay?”
He frowned, but nodded.
You said quick goodbyes to them and rushed back to your office to speak to Bill. He would know the best person to take Dominique’s case, and then you could call Roger right away. You hurried through the lobby of your building and into the lift. You tapped your foot anxiously as it slowly moved up to the firm’s floor. As soon as the doors opened, you burst through them and ran up to Bill’s office.
“Bill,” you panted. “Who’s the best prosecutor you know?”
“Me, why?” he returned, looking up from the paper he was signing.
You decided not to address the narcissism of that reply.
“Then you need to take this case,” you said.
You walked up to his desk and sat in the chair across from him. You explained what had happened to Dominique and the basics of her case. He listened carefully.
“Well, it sounds like a solid case,” he said.
“You can really take it?” you wondered.
“Sure,” he said with a shrug. “They’ve got money, they can handle this however they want.”
“But isn’t there a conflict of interest with our firm representing her husband in her divorce?”
“Again, they have money, and plenty of it, so they can literally do whatever they want,” he repeated. “What aren’t you understanding?”
“Just ethics,” you said, brow furrowing.
“Y/N, don’t be daft, ethics don’t exist in the courtroom, it’s about money and power,” he said with a wave. “Thankfully, we’ve got both.”
“Okay, I’m going to ignore that terrifying logic and tell Roger you’re taking it,” you said.
“I’ll need a second chair,” he said. “You want in?”
“I don’t think I’m qualified to -”
“Y/N, I’m gonna stop you right there,” he cut across you. “I hire excellent lawyers, do I not?”
“Yes.”
“I hire lawyers with a wide range of abilities, right?”
“Right.”
“I hire lawyers that are adaptable and capable, yes?”
“Yes, of course.”
“And I also hired you?”
You nodded.
“Then don’t ever fucking say to me that you’re not qualified again.”
“Bill, I -”
He held a hand up to stop you again. “Don’t ever fucking say it again. Now, are you second chairing this or not?”
You squared your shoulders. It hit you that you wanted to be a part of this. You wanted to defend Dominique and help put away the man who had done this horrific thing to her. Bill’s faith in you - as well as Roger’s - lit a fire inside you.
“I am.”
I’m picturing other little superfam moments all damn day now haha, like Tony and Steve taking toddler Peter to the doctor (I love a good h/c moment) or like Peter graduating high school and both of them being A Mess or Steve and Tony finding out about Peter’s first love UGH you’ve got my brain spinning on all these precious lil family moments
babe i’m right there with you. in fact here’s a little story to go with that first thought because as much as i love all the fluff with toddler peter it’s time to add a little whump (:
~
It only took two months into the school year for Tony to come to the conclusion that preschool was hell.
Steve had convinced him to allow Peter to attend, explaining how it was going to be good for the toddler to have some kind of social interaction with kids his own age and not with the self-destructive robots down in his lab. Screw them because Dum-E and U, unlike those little demon spawns at the school, weren’t germ-ridden and it turns out that their son doubled as a tiny magnet for all different sorts of viruses and germs.
The first cold came only three days after Peter started. Steve had to stop Tony from pulling Peter completely out of school the moment they got the call from the school nurse. Steve had to deploy Pepper the second time around, just three weeks after the first incident.
This time around, Steve was sure Tony would keep Peter inside a plastic bubble for the rest of his life.
The day starts off like any other.
Tony is woken up by a soft kiss from Steve, which he kindly returns by smacking a pillow into his husband’s face. After threatening to turn the hose on him if he wasn’t up by the time he came back, Steve leaves to wake Peter up.
Tony dozes off, startling awake a few moments later when he hears Steve’s gruff voice. “Tony.”
Tony’s eyes shoot open. “I’m up!” He cries, stumbling out of bed, the blankets landing in a pool around his feet.
“Tony,” Steve calls out once more, voice weary.
Tony cranes his neck to look back at Steve, whose standing solemn in the doorway with a drowsy toddler in his arms.
Steve sighs, smoothing the back of Peter’s hair. “He’s sick.” Peter demonstrates this with a small cough, followed by a sniffle before rubbing his tiny button nose against the crook of his Papa’s neck.
Tony immediately marches over to them and after gently pulling Peter away from Steve, just enough to get a glimpse of the small, red flushed face, he presses a calloused hand to his son’s forehead.
He might as well have touched a hot stove.
“Aw, buddy,” Tony coos, replacing his hand with a chaste kiss to Peter’s burning forehead. Small bleary eyes peer up at him as he draws back.
“He told me his throat hurts,” Steve tells him, gently rocking Peter in his arms as the toddler stuffs his face against his shoulder once more.
Tony sighs, running his fingers through his hair before holding his arms out. “Come to daddy, bubba.”
He carefully plucks Peter from Steve’s arms when the man holds him out, crooning, “Daddy’s got you, baby.”
“There’s gotta be some medicine left from last time,” Steve murmurs as he walks down the hallway, towards the kitchen, Tony following suit.
Tony takes a seat on the island setting Peter down on his lap, watching as Steve rummages through their tiny stash of children’s medicine. He gently combs his finger through the toddler’s curls as Peter rests his cheek against his chest. “Tell daddy what hurts.”
“Toat,” Peter whimpers, voice so soft that Tony could barely hear.
“Anywhere else? Tummy? Ears?” Peter shakes his head slowly, letting out another whimper that quickly delves into a hoarse cough, burning his already tender throat.
“‘addy,” Peter cries softly as he recovers from the cough, large tears flowing down his bright red cheeks.
“I know, baby,” Tony says softly, rubbing gentle circles on the little boy’s back while pressing a few kisses to the top of his head.
“Any luck there, babe?” Tony asks, turning to Steve.
Steve sighs, shaking his head as he pushes the medicine away. “Just some allergy and asthma medicine. We must have gone through all the cold medicine from last time.”
Tony huffs, sliding out from his chair, repositioning Peter on his hip. “We got some popsicles?”
Peter’s head perks up slightly at the mention of the cold treat and Tony smiled.
Steve jumps from where he was leaning against the counter and goes to rummage through the freezer, letting out a triumphant cry as he pulls out a popsicle from behind a couple frozen vegetables. He unwraps it before handing it over to Peter with a kiss to his cheek.
“Perfect.” Tony grins, watching as Peter takes a hesitant lick of the popsicle. Not a moment later, the toddler lets out an exhausted sigh as the icy treat manages to temporarily soothe his sore throat.
“Let’s go look for Uncle Bruce, bubba.”
They find the scientist huddled in a corner of his lab, peering through a microscope.
“He’s sick,” Tony states, plopping down onto a chair and rolling towards Bruce with Peter still snuggled in his arms. “Fix him.”
“Please,” Steve adds, leaning against one of the tables.
Bruce stutters, pushing his glasses up on his nose, “You guys, I’m not a pediatrician. Heck, I’m not even a doctor!”
Tony shrugs his shoulders, plucking the empty popsicle stick from Peter’s sticky fingers before the toddler manages to take either one of their eyes out with it. He aims the stick towards a trash can, throws it and watches as it bounces off the rim before landing on the floor. He sighs before turning back to Bruce, watching from the corner of his eye as Steve walks over to the trash can. “You’re the next best thing. It’s Sunday and the pediatrician’s office is closed.”
“Try one of the medbay doctors.”
“No can do,” Tony supplies.
“Why?”
“Because none of them is this kid’s favorite uncle.” Tony watches as Bruce’s facial expression softens and Tony’s glad he hasn’t found himself above using dirty tactics. Because, let’s be honest, the kid’s favorite uncle was the archer that sneaked him candy when neither one of his dads was watching.
Bruce is silent for a few moments before sighing, shaking his head. “Fine.” He gets up, heading to the far side of the lab.
Steve walks over to where they are sitting, biting his lip. “It might be better for me to hold him. He can get…”
“Fiesty?” Tony offers.
They both look down at the toddler curled up on his lap, quietly sucking on one of his thumbs. Tiny curls were plastered to his forehead from the sweat of his fever.
“I think we’ll be okay, hun,” Tony murmurs, pressing a kiss to the top of Peter’s head.
Bruce returns back with a medical bag and begins the check-up. It was going relatively well, with the occasional whine that was simmered with a kiss or two, until all hell broke loose when Bruce had to swab the back of Peter’s throat to test for Strep.
Steve had to refrain from pressing his palms against his ears as Peter screeched.
“Baby, it’s okay. Uncle Bruce is all done. Bubba, it’s okay.” Tony tries to quell Peter’s tantrum as the toddler lets out ear-splitting cries, squirming and kicking around in his lap. Steve runs to Tony’s aid as Bruce scurries away looking incredibly apologetic.
“I know that wasn’t fun, baby, but it’s all over now,” Steve coos, grabbing hold of Peter’s thrashing legs.
Tony takes the chance to wrap his arms around Peter’s chest, effectively locking down the toddler’s own small arms before whispering soothing words into Peter’s ears as Steve softly strokes Peter’s legs.
By the time Bruce returns with the results of the test, Peter’s regressed down to hiccups and sniffles. Tony feels the toddler stiffen up in his arms once Bruce appears and he sends a frantic look up towards his husband.
But instead of another tantrum, Peter points a tiny accusing finger at the scientist, “‘Meanie.”
Tony huffs out a laugh as Steve tries to hide his grin, grabbing a gentle hold of Peter’s finger and pulling it down. He half-heartedly chastises the boy, “That’s not nice, bubba. He’s just trying to get you feeling better.”
Peter’s lips form into a pout and he nuzzles in closer to Tony’s side. “Unca Buce huwted me.”
Bruce looks absolutely devastated at the accusation and Tony knows the feeling. He once accidentally closed the door on Peter’s fingers and the betrayed, wounded look his son gave him afterward nearly shattered his soul.
Steve had a fun time trying to console two sobbing boys that night.
“It’s okay, Bruce, he’ll forget all of this by tomorrow, I promise,” Steve reassures the man before he could begin a long apology speech.
Bruce nods his head before taking a seat, sliding his glasses off and fiddling around with them. “Good thing is it’s not strep.”
Tony and Steve breathe a sigh of relief. Tony reaches up with the hand not tangled in Peter’s curls and grabs a hold of one of Steve’s, squeezing it gently.
Bruce continues, “But I’d make an appointment to see his pediatrician. If I’m not mistaken, this is the third time he’s gotten a sore throat in less than two months.”
Tony gives a hesitant nod before asking, “Where are you going with this?”
Bruce sighs, leaning back in his chair, folding his arms across his chest. “The pediatrician might have a different opinion, but I think it would do Peter good to have his tonsils removed.”
Tony sits up in the chair and instantly tightens his hold around Peter as if a surgeon was going to appear out of thin air and steal his son away from him.
“You mean like surgery?” Steve questions, setting a comforting hand on Tony’s shoulder, sensing his husband’s panic.
Bruce nods his head, “It’s a routine procedure, but like I said his doctor might think otherwise. It’s just a thought!”
“But he’s tiny,” Tony murmurs, glancing down at the now sleeping toddler in his arms.
“What?” Bruce asks, leaning forward.
Tony swallows, pressing his nose into his son’s curls. “He’s just a baby.”
“They do surgeries on babies too, Tony,” Bruce comments softly.
Tony growls, glaring at Bruce, “But this is my baby.” He then turns to look up at Steve. “Our baby.”
Steve sighs, rubbing his face with his hands. “Tony, sweetheart, calm down. This is all just a thought at the moment. We’ll make an appointment with the pediatrician and go from there.”
