fuckin. finally got round to applying for a water meter after a year of going, 'yeah yeah, I'll get to it eventually, it probably won't make that much difference'

yeah, so the estimate they gave me would be. uh. half my current bill. FFS.

#also attempting to switch energy providers for someone greener but given my edf account is under some sort of admin curse #we'll see if that actually works #(the curse has thus far manifested itself as: bills addressed only to '5 [town name] [post code]' (no street name)#and spending a good half hour on the phone setting up a direct debit only to get billed twice the next month and thereafter #have it revert to just the old variable rate #here's hoping octopus will be a little less cursed #thrilling anecdotes from the aging population of tumblr
