Lord of the Rings Characters Playing Mario Kart
Inspired by the fact the my father literally begged me to play Mario Kart with him last night.
----
Aragorn-Honestly is very bad and can only come above last place with the bumpers on, but still has fun. Gets excited when he gets a cool power up like Bullet Bill or whatever that thing is that makes you rainbow. He throws a lot of blue shells cuz he's always in last.
Merry-Horrible winner. He's really good and will let you know. Convinces everyone else to turn the bumpers off. Has literally no self control during Mario Kart, will say or do anything. If someone does manage to beat him he is a sore loser. Always plays as a classic character like Mario or Luigi.
Pippin-Insufferable if he manages to win or even comes in the top five. He's really obsessed with those mini battle games and will make everyone play them because he's good at them. Plays as Cat Peach
Frodo-Pretty average and doesn't take the game too seriously. He only uses the cars that look like real cars. Always uses the same character and that character is Lakitu
Sam-Sam is that guy that acts like he doesn't really know how to play and then kicks everyone's ass. He's very humble about it and sometimes lets other people win cuz he feels bad. Uses Shy Guy
Gandalf-Would rather be playing Sonic Riders (does anyone else remember this game or just me???) Yoshi enjoyer. Comes from behind for the win.
Boromir-Thinks that playing with the bumpers on is cheating and ruins the game. Picks his car by actually looking at the stats. Probs plays as Bowser.
Legolas-Really chill and very good at pelting people with items. Plays as Isabelle from Animal Crossing cuz that's his favorite game.
Gimli-Angry, enjoys Wario's Gold Mine. Will yell at someone for throwing a shell at him. Constantly runs into his own banana peels. Has thrown a remote and suffered the consequences
Faramir-Mid Mario Karter. Usually would rather just hang out and watch than actually play. He gives good commentary. When he does play he's always Koopa Troopa
Éomer-Has no idea what is happening. Has never played this game before. Falls off of the edge constantly because he doesn't know how to turn the bumpers on.
Éowyn-Only uses the baby characters. Kicks Merry's ass. Best trash talker. Always in the top three at least.
Arwen-Picks her vehicle based purely on how cute it looks. Not at all interested in stats, doesn't want to hear about it, leave her alone. Enjoys speeding past Boromir on her Yoshi scooter with button wheels.

Chapter 5: The Junkyard
Our heroes finally make it to the junkyard, finding something strange...
October 14th, 2042
The school day passed without any incident. Boring, to be honest, and looking at the clock every five minutes definitely didn’t help it go by any faster. I couldn’t help myself though. I was getting impatient. I’d heard from an acquaintance that there were some good parts to be found at the junkyard today, and I wanted to drag the guys down there as soon as humanly possible. So once the final bell for the day rang, I practically jumped out of my seat to get my stuff from my locker so I could meet Daniel and Jack in the courtyard.
“Well well, so you two actually decided to show up,” I didn’t think they would actually ditch me, but that didn’t mean I couldn’t poke a little fun at them.
“Well duh,” Jack shot back as he cracked open the can of coffee in his hands. “I wasn’t about to risk you texting me tonight and getting on my case about it.”
“You know me so well,” I shot a teasing smirk his way before glancing over at Daniel. Geez, he looked like hell. I couldn’t help but wonder what he was thinking about. Maybe he didn’t sleep well? “You get enough sleep last night Dan?”
“Huh? Oh, yeah, yeah I’m okay,” He responded, but he wasn’t as quick with it as he usually was. Something was definitely going on in that head of his. The only problem is, I wasn’t exactly a mind reader. I had no idea what he could have possibly been going through. I’d have to remember to ask him more later, but I decided to drop the subject for now. He was already a little out of whack, and he didn’t need me pushing the boundaries.
“Great! Let’s get going!” I set my backpack down and pulled my scooter out of it, unfolding it to its full length while Daniel and Jack got out their skateboards. I led the way, kicking off and riding down the same way we always did. Three blocks away from the school, make a left. Another ten blocks, and the junkyard would finally come into view. It may have taken us almost half an hour with our smaller transportation, but it definitely beat walking, that’s for sure.
We parked our stuff near the back, making sure nobody was watching before I had Jack boost me up, jumping off his hand to grab the top of the fence and pull myself over. Daniel was next over the fence, and before he fully went over, he helped pull jack up so we could all make it over safely. I had given both of my compatriots a shopping list of what to find. Daniel headed to the north side to find scrap metal, Jack was to the east gathering wheels of roughly equal size, and I stayed to the south, trying to find computers or anything technological that had working circuit boards that I could rip out and take home with me. Hopefully, this would go over smoothly and we wouldn’t get caught. The last thing I needed was my parents finding out I was digging around in the junkyard again. I popped my headphones in and started my little shopping spree.
I completely lost track of time, but I’d gathered up one hell of a haul. I figured it would be a good time to call a meeting and see what the guys had found, but just as I took out my earbuds, I heard a loud crashing sound accompanied by a scream. Wait, was that Daniel I heard?
I rushed over toward the source of the sound, finding Jack already there, standing over Daniel laying on the floor, clutching his side in pain.
“Oh no! Daniel, are you alright?” I hurried over to his side and knelt down. What I saw was unmistakable. It was blood. “Oh jeez, okay, here, move your hand and let me take a look,” Luckily, he didn’t seem to feel like arguing with me. As he moved his hands away, I saw the tear in his shirt, but underneath..it was fine? He had a nasty scratch but there was no bleeding or anything. “What the--?”
“You took a nasty fall Daniel,” Jack reached out his hand to help him up. Daniel accepted and was soon pulled up onto his feet. “You okay?”
“Yeah,” Daniel rubbed his side, still clearly feeling some pain. “What the hell did I fall on though?” That was a good question. What had he fallen on to cause something that bad? Something sharp, probably. At least that seemed like the obvious answer until he knelt down and started to brush away the junk. He stopped after a moment and went silent. “Is that a doorknob?”
What? I knelt down next to him to inspect it. He was right. There was a doorknob sticking out of the ground. What in the world was that doing there? I was going to suggest that we leave it alone, but it appeared Daniel had other plans, as he grabbed it and immediately pulled on it. Before I could actually say anything, the knob clicked, and a hatch swung open to reveal a staircase that led down to some sort of cellar.
“What do you think this leads to?” Jack asked with a curious glint in his eyes as he gazed down into the cellar.
“Well, there’s only one way to find out,” Daniel, always the type to shoot first and ask questions later, immediately started down the stairs without any thought behind his actions. I respected it, but damn it, now was probably not the best time. “Man, it’s dark down here.” His voice echoed out from below us. Jack and I looked at each other before silently agreeing we should follow him to make sure he doesn’t hurt himself.
At the bottom of the stairs, there was a doorway, with a door laying flat on the ground behind it. The hinges must have given out. Was this some sort of maintenance tunnel? That was the most logical conclusion I could gather, at least, until the tunnel that stretched out began to slowly descend further, opening up wider, and wider, until it came to a large, heavy metal door. On either side of the door there was a keypad, likely both of them had a code that needed to be entered for the door to open. It was like some sort of secret lab entrance.
“Look here,” Jack pointed out one of them. “The keypads have worn out numbers. This one here on the left has the numbers one, three, five, and zero worn out. This one here, has one, two, and five worn out. You think it’s some kind of code?” Jack punched in a code on it, tapping at the numbers. The light above flashed red and a buzzer sounded. That code clearly wasn’t right. He tried a few more combinations, but they all turned up nothing. I didn’t think we would be guessing the code any time soon, but if he wanted to try, I wasn’t going to stop him.
“Hey, let me try something,” Daniel chirped up as he approached the keypad. Jack moved out of his way to let him attempt. He didn’t seem to believe what he was doing was going to work, but he tried anyway. He put in the numbers, zero, five. “Sorry, it’s just that these digits are my birthday. I just think it would be funny if--” One, three.
The light on top of the keypad lit up green, and we all just sort of stared at it in stunned silence.
“Hell of a coincidence,” Jack finally spoke up after a few moments.
“Don’t suppose you know what this other one is then, do you?” I questioned him, mostly teasing, but with his luck he could probably figure it out. “If that one over there is four digits, then this one probably is too, but only three numbers are worn. So, one of them has to repeat, right? That only leaves us with so many combinations. Maybe we can brute force it.”
It took us a little while of trying, but eventually we were able to get the code. One, two, one five. Daniel looked even more perplexed by that number. I wonder what he was thinking just then.
But we didn’t have time to question him, as suddenly lights flickered to life and the door slowly, squeakily began to open, sliding off to the sides to reveal some sort of..
Well, it could really only be described as a secret lab. Screens lined the walls, tools were strewn about all over the floor, random pieces of tech and various other items were scattered all over the place. It was like someone grabbed a bunch of stuff in a hurry and left behind whatever they had deemed unnecessary. None of the computers were up and running, as it seemed the power was out at the moment. There had to have been some sort of generator around here.
“Looks like we hit a gold mine,” Jack commented after a few moments of just looking around the lab in a sort of stunned silence. “Bet you could take all sorts of stuff from here. Looks like this place hasn’t been touched in a couple decades, I’m sure whoever was here before won’t miss it.”
“No,” I wasn’t completely listening to what he was saying, all I knew was I didn’t want to take anything from this place. This was something way better than a place to pick up spare parts from. If I could find a generator that powered this place, who knows what sort of cool information I could pick up? I couldn’t let this go, I had to find that generator. I took a flashlight out of my bag and flipped it on. “I’m gonna take a look around. You two try not to break anything while I’m gone.”
Even with the flashlight, it was hard to see where I was going. This place was huge, and no doubt it had been abandoned for at least a couple decades, like Jack had said before. But I could only imagine what I could find if I got the power working. That was what drove me forward. Fumbling my way through the limited visibility of the flashlight shining the light in front of me, I found some sort of back room. I almost tripped over a power cable on the floor. Bingo that must have plugged into the generator. I lifted it up and pushed it into the socket, before pulling the lever on the generator. It slowly powered up, whirring to life and within the next few minutes, the lights slowly started to flicker on, letting us see the mess the lab had become in full light.
But what was even more interesting was the computers. The big screen on the wall flickered life as the computer booted up. We all stared in amazement as a massive map of the city popped up. Dots started to litter the screen, in seemingly random places across the city. Some of them were labeled “PT”, whatever that meant. I was the first to approach, tapping the keyboard on the desk, and the display changed to camera feed. There must have been dozens of cameras, placed in different points all over the city. What was all this? It had to have been some sort of surveillance, but what were they surveying? Who owned this lab?
What had we just stumbled upon?

PT. III Louis/Dongsik: your brother's best friend
Dongsik x genderneutral!reader
3 chapters | 8k+ | fluff, comedy | general audiences
When you were young, your world existed of you, your parents, your brother…and his best friend, Dongsik. They had met each other on the first day of 3rd grade and had been inseparable since then. They were both loud, funny, stubborn and fuelled each other’s bad ideas resulting in many-a scoldings but were also two of the people you knew would always stand by you.
At first you didn’t really like Dongsik. There was only 1 year between you and your brother and before he’d met Dongsik he would play with you, like alllll the time. He had taught you how to play soccer, basketball and how to ride a bike but would also race with you around the neighbourhood (you on your tiny bike with a huge silly horn on it as a bell and colourful wheel decorations that made a rattling sound, and he on his green razor scooter), play hide and seek, tag and so on. The two of you were close and after Dongsik came into the picture that play time was cut in half. You often asked if you could join them and sometimes they would say yes, but more often than not they would run away before you could ask them. But he visited so often, he was almost like a second brother – one that was almost more annoying than your real brother if that was possible.
One time when the three of you were children, Dongsik had gone with you and your family on vacation and whilst you were checking the water temperature of the water, he had picked you up and had then thrown you in. You had kicked and screamed of course, but it hadn’t helped and as you resurfaced from the cold water, you could hear your brother and Dongsik laughing and clapping. In the end, the trip turned into a competition of who could manage to throw the others into the water the most. A competition you unfortunately, lost.
Or another time when you had dressed up a little bit, for no particular reason other than that you felt like it and you came downstairs to grab some drinks and snacks for you and your friend. Your brother had Dongsik over in his room and they were playing video games. As you went back to your own room, you ran into the latter in the hallway. Shamelessly, he looked you up and down and your face turned red. ‘What are you looking at?’ you snapped. ‘You look weird today,’ he said. You sighed and glared at him. Of course that’s what he was thinking. By now you were completely used to this. ‘Look in the mirror, weirdo,’ you retorted. He shrugged his shoulders and then rudely snatched a cookie from the plate you were carrying and ate it in one gulp. ‘Hey! Get your own snacks,’ you said, holding the plate out of reach of him (which was quite hard considering the height difference). He smirked. ‘You’re so possessive…won’t you share with me?’ he said, making a pleading face. ‘Weirdos don’t get cookies from me,’ you said and you stuck out your tongue and quickly moved past him before he could say anything else or steal another cookie.
Dongsik was almost as funny as he was annoying. Although you would never admit it to him, you also thought that he was quite cool. And though you were often on the receiving end of your brother’s and Dongsik’s pranks and their ‘loving’ verbal abuse (which you threw right back at them) you had also collaborated plenty of times with Dongsik to prank your brother.
You recalled one particular successful April Fool’s you’d experienced after Dongsik had become friends with your brother. Before Dongsik was in the picture, your brother would prank you often enough on April Fool’s. You’d found plenty of fake spiders, cockroaches, fake barf in your shoes, breakfast, hair and water bottle. You’d tried to prank him back of course but he always seemed to see right through you, and avoid the splash of water, taste of lemon or fake snack you’d prepared leaving you biting in the dust. Now that he would be teaming up with Dongsik, you didn’t know what would happen – and it drove you mad. You’d been on your guard for weeks after you’d overheard them giggling (yes, giggling) and looking at various videos about the best pranks for April Fool’s. A kind of dread and fear you didn’t know existed before settled into your stomach and a shiver ran down your back. But, you weren’t stupid and decided that you were going to give them a taste of their own medicine (even if you’d never succeeded before). You weren’t exactly sure what kind of prank they had prepared, but it involved something with paint, glue and flour. Then the day finally arrived. April Fool’s. You had set your alarm clock an hour earlier and as you heard it you shot up and quickly turned it off. Then you quietly snuck out of your room to get ready and eat breakfast. When you were done and had made sure that there were no traps set around the house you finally settled yourself on the couch and waited until your brother woke up. You heard him move around the house and eventually come downstairs. ‘Good morning,’ you said, and couldn’t hide a triumphant smile. He raised an eyebrow and looked you carefully up and down, scanning you for any hidden threats but decided there was nothing of note. ‘Good morning,’ he said back and then sat down to eat his breakfast after which you walked to school together. You were both suspicious of each other. Your bag was heavier than normal though but that was probably because of all the extra equipment you had taken with you, which included a water gun, a can of shaving cream, and the fine powdery glitter.
Class started and went by without anything unusual happening. Somebody had switched the caps from all the dry markers and sharpies but though that was mildly inconveniencing for the teacher it was nothing too wild or bad. No, the wild would happen during lunch – not that you were aware of that yet. So here’s what happened and how it landed you, your brother and Dongsik in the principals office, all of you covered in a mixture of flour and glitter and also shivering because the 3 of you were also wet.

5 Top Smart Bike Accessories Every Cyclist Needs
The way we navigate our cities is rapidly evolving. Gone are the days of solely relying on cars or public transport. Today, we have a plethora of micromanaging options, and two of the most popular choices are electric scooters (e-scooters) and adult scooters, often with "smart" features. This guide will delve into the world of smart bikes, smart bike accessories, e-scooters, and adult scooters, helping you decide which option best suits your urban adventures.
E-Scooters: A Zip Around Town
E-scooters are the new kids on the block, offering a fun, convenient, and (usually) eco-friendly way to get around. These lightweight, electric-powered vehicles come with a motor that propels you forward, while you steer and control your speed with handlebars. Perfect for short commutes or quick errands, e-scooters are often dockless, meaning you can pick one up and leave it at your destination within a designated zone. Many e-scooters are also "smart," equipped with features like GPS tracking, app connectivity, and even self-locking mechanisms.
Adult Scooters: Classic Fun with a Modern Twist
For those seeking a more traditional experience, Foldable Electric Scooter for Adults offer a fantastic way to get some exercise and enjoy the outdoors while still getting where you need to go. These non-electric scooters come in a variety of styles, from basic kick scooters to three-wheeled models for added stability. Some adult scooters are also "smart," incorporating features like phone mounts, built-in lights, and even bluetooth speakers for an extra dose of fun.
Smart Bikes: Pedal Power with a Tech Boost
Regular bikes are a timeless mode of transportation, but smart bikes take things a step further. These bikes often come equipped with electric motors that provide a helpful boost when needed, making hills and long distances a breeze. Smart bikes also integrate technology, allowing you to connect your phone to track rides, monitor performance, and even unlock the bike. Some models even have built-in GPS for navigation and theft prevention.
Smart Bike Accessories: Enhance Your Ride
Whether you choose a smart bike, a regular bike, or even an adult scooter, there are a variety of Smart Bike Wheels Accessories to elevate your riding experience. Here are a few popular options:
Smart helmets: These helmets can connect to your phone via Bluetooth, offering features like turn signals, hazard lights, and even music playback through built-in speakers.
Smart lights: Replace your traditional bike lights with smart versions that automatically adjust their brightness based on your surroundings and can even act as brake lights.
Smart locks: Ditch the clunky U-lock and invest in a smart lock that unlocks with your phone for added convenience and security.
Choosing the Right Ride
So, which option is right for you? Consider these factors:
Commute distance: E-scooters are excellent for short trips, while adult scooters and smart bikes can handle longer distances, especially with an electric motor assist.
Exercise goals: If getting exercise is a priority, adult scooters and regular bikes are the way to go. E-scooters and smart bikes still provide some physical activity but offer motor assistance for a less strenuous ride.
Terrain: E-scooters and adult scooters are best suited for smooth, paved surfaces. Smart bikes with wider tires can handle some light off-roading.
Budget: E-scooters are typically the most affordable option, followed by adult scooters and regular bikes. Smart bikes tend to be the most expensive.
The Future of Urban Mobility
No matter which option you choose, e-scooters, adult scooters, and smart bikes all represent a shift towards a more sustainable and enjoyable way to navigate our cities. With advancements in technology and infrastructure, these options are only going to become more convenient and sophisticated. So, ditch the car, grab your helmet, and get ready to conquer your commute in style!

Soooo, it’s now been nearly 48 hrs since arriving in South Korea. I’ve been a bit shattered so haven’t posted. My journey through Istanbul went very smoothly, it was a massive airport - staff travelled around on three wheeled scooters it was so big! I managed to connect to the internet briefly to see what was happening to the heating at home. Maryanne had accidentally kicked over the thermostat, and it wasn’t working any more :-(. Then onto the second flight which left on time and was also a smooth, easy f slightly cramped flight!
After being fed (Turkish airlines food not bad for airplane food!), I managed to get a few hours sleep. Then breakfast and landed at Seoul. Getting through passport now problem, and only had to wait a few mins for my rucksack.
The airport was nice. I found the wifi egg place easily, and they gave me a free fridge magnet :-). I then found my way down to the station. Past some interesting looking chairs see photo! Bought my t-card (cash only) and used it to get a stopping train to Seoul. This was quicker than getting the express because the express wasn’t for another half hour or so. In Seoul I found Line 4 and only a couple of stops to Myeongdong, and a 2 minute walk to my hotel.

London Motorcycle Show Welcomes Thousands Of Fans
Devitt Insurance MCN London Motorcycle Show Welcomes Thousands Of Fans. This weekend, 32,399 motorcycle fans, an increase on last year, descended on the Capital to celebrate the very best of two wheels at the Devitt Insurance MCN London Motorcycle Show. Alongside 15 of the world’s leading manufacturers showcasing the latest in new metal, visitors were treated to an explosion of noise, with the world’s first indoor Supersprint taking over the centre of the Show. London’s Docklands came alive with the sights and sounds of two wheels over the weekend for the annual Devitt Insurance MCN London Motorcycle Show. Often seen as the event to kick-start the riding season, the Show had a fresh look for 2023, welcoming Devitt Insurance as the title sponsor and introducing a brand new live-action show with the world’s first indoor Supersprint. The three-day event saw 32,399 visitors pass through the doors, an increase compared to the 2022 show. Taking over the centre of the Show, the Supersprint saw a host of iconic machinery, including Barry Sheene’s World-Championship winning Suzuki, Peter Hickman’s 2023 British Superbike, Honda’s MotoGP-derived RC213V-S, the BMW F900 R Cup bikes and the Triumph Scrambler’s from the James Bond film ‘No Time To Die’ roar down the strip in a high-speed explosion of noise. Leading the way in each race were Isle of Man TT legends Peter Hickman and John McGuinness, who also spent time catching up with visitors and signing autographs. One of the major attractions was the latest ‘new metal’ from 15 of the world’s leading manufacturers. BMW, BSA, CCM, Ducati, Harley Davidson, Indian, Kawasaki, KTM, Kymco, Norton, Royal Enfield, Segway, Suzuki, Triumph and Yamaha were in attendance, showcasing some stunning machines, including the UK debut of several bikes such as the KTM 790 Adventure and 890 Adventure, Kymco AK 550 Premium and the first-ever Segway electric scooters.
BMW Motorrad UK National Marketing and PR Manager Scott Grimsdall said, “The London Motorcycle Show is always a great way to kick off the year, and particularly encouraging to talk to so many riders new to motorcycling. The new Supersprint show added another level of excitement, particularly for some of our keen F 900 R Cup racers.” With London being the ideal location for electric machines, many manufacturers used the Show to exhibit their revolutionary bikes, including Kawasaki’s Ninja EV, BMW CE04 and the Sur-Ron range. Yamaha also gave visitors a chance to experience electric power with the Neo Scooter Experience. There was plenty on offer for race fans, with the Manx Grand Prix starting their centenary celebrations at the Show. Alongside a collection of race machines, stars such as Lee Johnston, Dominic Herbertson, Stephen Smith, and McGuinness were around to spend time with visitors and tell tales from the incredible Isle of Man. For those eager to explore the world, the Adventure Zone sponsored by Caberg proved a popular spot, with the stage hosting an array of talks from some of the most intrepid explorers of recent years, including Austin Vince, Elspeth Beard and Vanessa Ruck. Visitors were also able to grab a bargain from many of the industry’s leading brands, with Roadskin Owner Nicky Wilson saying, “It’s been a phenomenal show for us, by far the best show we’ve ever had at the Excel. We’ve sold out completely of several Roadskin lines, which we didn’t anticipate, and we have been fully rushed off our feet all weekend!”
On Saturday, Silverstone Auctions gave visitors the opportunity to secure some incredibly rare machines, with just under 150 motorcycles going under the hammer, with a sale rate of 80%. Everything from pre-war machines to modern classics were up for sale, with over £850,000 in sales being generated. Highlights included a 1995 Ducati Senna 1 916cc (sold for £38,250), a 1982 Kawasaki Z1000J2 998cc (sold for £16,875) and a 1994 Ducati 888 Corse 926cc (sold for £47,250). Speaking after a successful first title sponsorship of the show, Tom Warsop, Marketing Director of Devitt Insurance, said: “We’ve had a great show talking to so many fully engaged bikers from all over the country about their machines and situations. We’ve brought a selection of diverse exhibits that generated massive attention, including the first showing of the CAKE electric model, one-off customs, our Devitt Flat Track racers and our supported Paul Milbourn land speed record machine. The Supersprint has been really exciting for visitors, and the whole event has had a real buzz about it!” For more London Motorcycle Show News check out our dedicated page London Motorcycle Show News or head to the official London Motorcycle Show website London Motorcycle Show Read the full article
