location: boba dream
Yoga had left Daisy Miller feeling refreshed. She'd been attending sessions since moving to Kismet Harbor when she had free time. Whether it was before work, after work or on a day off, Daisy was certainly taking advantage of her membership. "I've been going regularly, but I hadn't expected the advance level to hurt already," Daisy teased Dae-Hyun as she opened up the door to Boba Dream. It had become a regular occurrence for the two of them to grab a smoothie or delicious treat after yoga class. "I hear they got a mango and passionfruit on the menu for spring," well, it was one of the many new ones they cycled in.

location: nova conservation outing
Felicity had been tasked with joining a new local town activity. Yet, she didn't know what she wanted to do. Her love for animals prompted her to look at Nova Conservation. Bird watching wasn't something that Felicity thought she would like but the point was to try something new, something she wouldn't have tried on her own. Today's bird watching outing was on the beach. The sand wasn't warm and she still wore shoes, despite the sand sneaking in and causing discomfort. "Have you seen any yet?" Felicity took a few steps, a slight hop in her step as she fell into pace with another member, "I feel like I am not even looking in the right places." A slight pout pushed out her bottom lip.

Margaret nodded her head in agreement with his words. It had not been an easy journey for the blonde and she still had yet to go through with it. She were still finding excuses to put it off, though she knew she were going to have to rip the band aid off eventually. "I actually want to teach ballet." She smiled at Dae-Hyun as she admitted her dream, "It was huge in my life growing up and I still have a small studio at home in the basement," though it was private to her and Taylor, "I'd love to teach at the studio here in town." Though Margaret wondered if it would always just be a dream to her. @daehyunxkwon
END.
Dae-Hyun gave a slow nod, his gaze shifting toward her, interest piqued as she mentioned considering something new. "That's big."he commented, excited for her bold plans. "Doing something for yourself, finally stepping away from what's expected, it's not easy." Taking a sip of his coffee, he pondered the idea. "Any ideas yet, or are you still figuring it out?" @margaretxhawthornelevy

location: blissful balance yoga studio
Daisy had moved to town only a few days prior to Thanksgiving and now she had been in Kismet Harbor for a week. Moving had been a challenge, stepping foot in the place where her sister had gone missing only four years ago. The memories hit her like rough waves and for a moment, Daisy wondered if she had made a mistake in moving to Kismet Harbor. She had done so to find her half-sister, though it had already not been a difficult thing as Stevie and her husband were the talk of the town after giving birth to another set of twins.
Daisy had just finished up a yoga class and was rolling up her yoga mat when she spotted someone's phone left abandoned on the floor. Almost all of the class had walked out and Daisy was quick to grab it, half-jogging after the last person, "Excuse me!" She called out, gently touching their shoulder as she caught up to them, "Sorry," an apology spilled over her lips, "is this yours?"

"Hey, boss," he grinned, holding open the door for Dae-Hyun and letting the other exit before following after him. "I was just headed to grab a bite to eat at Cedar Grill and Lounge if you're free. Girlfriend's been working at her shop all week so she's left me on my own," he chuckled, letting the door close behind him after another day at the office. "Also, neither of us are good cooks so this is probably for the best."

"What's done is done," Eli continued to joke with Dae-Hyun, cracking a smile at the other. "I do look a good deep dish pizza," he had to agree, "we've got some good pizza here, though." It wasn't the same, of course, but it was better than most people gave it credit for. "A discount at the inn? That's nice. Nancy is great," he couldn't help but comment, "I know her daughter, Renee, she bartends at the grill and lounge sometimes. We've got ourselves a small town vibe, even if it's not that small." @danielxkwon
"Sheesh, thanks. Can I take back the boss comment?" Dae-Hyun chuckled, honestly not minding the jest and banter. He had to give himself more time to get acquainted with the town, if anything to just figure out the style of most of the buildings, which would be beneficial to his job. He'd see if he could get someone to give him a tour. "The deep dish pizza is the best, but anything else? Not much." He walked next to the man, creating a continuous motion with his fingers like a wave, one finger by the other, just so the tremor wouldn't frustrate him. "I do, yeah. The people are nice. And I received a discount on the inn, so that's something." @elianxbrowne

"The blue one is a fan favorite for me as well," she admitted to him, her warm smile growing. "It's actually blue raspberry. At least, that's the one we use. Maybe it used to be something different." She continued on, "A big one with the kids is usually bubblegum," though it was not one of her favorites. "And you can't go wrong with a classic mint. We had a rep come in and try to sell us caramel flavor, which I thought was a unique choice." Solana stated, "So if you ever wanted to give that a try," she trailed off, laughter bubbling over her lips. @daehyunxkwon
END.
"It's what we can hope." Dae-Hyun mused, glancing back inside again where they seemed to still be having a break. He wondered if he would stay or if he would go. It didn't seem like he would be able to fully enjoy the show, at any rate. Maybe saving himself the heartache would be for the best. "You're welcome for the idea." He told her, looking back at her once again. "I always liked the blue one, though I never was able to connect a flavour to it." @solanaxortiz

"That's what I keep hearing," he nodded his head. In thinking of his own parents, he wondered if they had ever been this worried about him. Truthfully, he doubted it. From the way that his mother lacked in his life and his father all but ignored him, leaving Mateo to get in all sorts of trouble, worry was not on the forefront of their minds. "Nah, I don't mind. Company's nice from time to time, outside of the bar that is," he gave a lowly chuckle as he took a step back to admire their work, "plus, I think all this hard work is deserving of a beer." @danielxkwon
Dae couldn't help but to chuckle, recognising the concerns that Mateo uttered. He'd felt the same too back then. "That makes sense. I can tell you that you shouldn't have to worry but, it's only natural that you do." Dae shrugged, then let out a chuckle. "I don't mind a beer when you've the time. Don't feel like you have to. I'm happy to help." @mateoxtorres

"Your guess is as good as man." He shook his head, "I'm sure they are worried it will take away the hairs on their chest or something," as if coffee actually put them there in the first place. Some men simply weren't secure enough to admit to liking something that could be considered outside the norm. "Hell yeah," he was grinning as Dae-Hyun asked if he was up for the project that he just told him about. "Consider it done." There was nothing that he loved more than getting a project like this. He was passionate about the designing aspect and his mind was already whirling with ideas. "I have just the right people in mind, don't you worry." Though he knew if he was being presented with the project, Dae-Hyun had no worries in the first place. @danielxkwon

"See? I told you." The tea here wasn't as great as it was in Korea, enjoying the blends there much more. It tasted more fresh, somehow. But this place had a surprisingly good range of teas. "Most men immediately turn their nose up at the mention of tea. What's the deal with that?" He scoffed, taking a sip from his coffee. "I did." He nodded, setting the cup down and moving his hand to type on his laptop. "I've been having talks with city hall for a new residential complex. 32 to 40 apartments, target group varies. From single residents to a young family of four. They want ideas, plans, blueprints, graphics." He spoke, scanning over the e-mail to see if he had missed something. He was certain whatever he hadn't said the mail would cover that he just forwarded to Eli. "I want you to create your own team and have everything presentable by the end of september. Meaning that the entire project will be on your name. You up for it?" @elianxbrowne

"There is some wisdom," Giovanna agreed with a soft laugh. She hadn't been one to buy the unnecessary anyway. She had always been a bit of a minimalist at heart. It wasn't like her place in New York had been huge by any means. "It's the truth," she laughed, nodding her head. "Not something even I would have expected." Yet, that seemed to be the surprise of moving to a smaller place to live. "Count me in," Giovanna nodded her head once more in agreement. "Class is out for the summer, so I'm getting ready to enjoy all my free time." @danielxkwon
END.
"My mom always used to say to only get what you needed. Guess there's wisdom in there somewhere." If only she had followed her own advice, but that aside. Speaking ill of the dead was not something Dae-Hyun practiced. "There's a knitting club in town? Get out." Every day he still found himself astounded at how different this place was compared to Chicago. He was certain Chicago had knitting clubs, but official ones? Not so much. "Might as well try it, feel like joining?" He smiled, not one to pressure her, but might as well offer. "What's been going on with you lately, then?" @giovannaxwallace

Mateo had been sent out to a job site after an apartment complex saw some damage after a candle had managed to catch fire. He had assessed the damage, taking his time to make sure that he'd be able to tell the man what he needed to hear, rather than what he wanted to hear. Or didn't want to hear. Mateo was a man of integrity when it came to his job - caring about it and not wanting to fuck up the chance he was given by Andrew Jackson. "Insurance would do that," Mateo managed to agree with the other, having a hard time dealing with insurance companies himself when he thought most of them were in place to screw people over rather than help them. "Luckily, I don't think we're goin' to have to replace the whole wall, a couple patch jobs should do the trick." @danielxkwon
"What do we think, is it fixable or do we need to redo the entire wall?" Dae-Hyun asked, having watched the man as he had come along for an intake. He just needed a quote to send to his insurance and then everything could be set in motion, but he was still bummed about the entire ordeal. Of course, it was damaged by a candle so he didn't blame his neighbours, it wasn't like anyone held a constant atch on their candle after all, no matter how much someone pressed them on safety. "I'm sure the insurance will cover whatever it needs to be, but I can see it happen they'll stall if it's the entire wall." Would that be a bad thing, however? He was happy enough at the inn. @mateoxtorres

"Places do shape us." And Daisy nodded her head in agreement to him. For better or for worse. "Do you think Kismet changed you for the better?" She questioned, more curiously. Honestly, Daisy didn't know what Kismet Harbor was going to bring for herself but she was already enjoying her time. It could all go downhill, though. If she approached Stevie, revealing the fact that they were half-sisters and it didn't go well. "I think it's too early for me to tell, but I have been enjoying it." @daehyunxkwon
Dae-Hyun merely smiled, though he disagreed. Chicago Dae-Hyun was who thrived, high on life, happier than he'd ever been. Especially now in hindsight, but that wasn't Daisy's fault, she couldn't have known. "That's one way to look at it." Though, still there were mixed emotions, as he'd rather have been the husband and father he was years ago, but life had a different path to him, so he was just going to walk it. "I guess a place does change a person, for better or worse. It's what you make of it that matters." @daisyxmiller

"Oh, that is nice." She hadn't realized the man had his younger brother in town. "I don't have any siblings," considering she was adopted herself. "But I have a lot of friends that I would like to think are a lot like my siblings." Though she figured she would never understand the true sibling bond. "That sounds like magic," her eyes lit up as he described the orchard. "I'd love to see that someday. It sounds like something that only exists in a movie." But, she knew that it didn't. "That may be the first place on my bucket list now." @daehyunxkwon
"Not really. I mean, you learn to live with it. And I've got my little brother here in Kismet, so I've got all I need." Well, all he needed that he could get, but again-- debby downer. "Nothing wrong about staying near what's familiar. I would've stayed in Chicago if my brother hadn't come here. Just something comforting about sticking with what you know." he told her, smiling at the idea that she wanted to go to Korea. At her question he took a time to ponder. "My cousin has this orchard near his house, cherry blossom trees. When they bloom and the sun is just right, it's beautiful. It's that, and the community that make the country what it is." @felicityxnovak

She glanced over at him, considering his words as Dae-Hyun spoke of seeing his father, at least one more time. "I get that, wanting just one more moment." While both of her parents were very much alive, Margaret dreamed of having a moment again where she felt like she connected with them again. "We do," she gave a nod of her head in agreement with his words. Margaret gave him a small smile, shaking his head, "Truly, same ole same ole with me," she lightly joked, "working for my father is the same as its always been. It's actually why no, at my age, I'm finally considering doing something for myself in terms of work." It's not like both her and Nate needed to work for her father. @daehyunxkwon
Her eye roll tugged a faint smile from him, a small break in the heaviness that had settled in his chest. There was strength in her humor, even if it was worn thin by the weight she carried. It made him wonder if she saw the same in him-- or if he was still too good at hiding it. "Don't see a therapist telling you to rush going through your emotions." He chuckled. "Guess I'd give anything to see my old man again. Even if it was just to work with him. Guess we've all got our different needs, huh?" He spoke. "I vented, you can too if you need." @margaretxhawthornelevy

"Sounds like Chicago Dae-Hyun was missing out a little," she said as she tilted her head to the side a little bit. "Different is not always bad, though," she bumped her shoulder into him lightly. "Maybe you're just growing into the person you're supposed to be," she continued, "I think we have different versions of ourselves as we get older and especially as we find ourselves in new places." Daisy paused a moment, "I don't think I'm the same person I was in Portland or even Bend." @daehyunxkwon
Dae-Hyun nodded, placing his hand over his heart. "I would never dream of betraying the smoothie alliance." he said, keeping his gaze locked on her. One might even debate about if he was actually serious about it. "Dragon fruit it is. Perfect balance to your sunny personality." he grinned, placing his order, ordering for her as well, and then turning to face her again. "It's crazy that back in Chicago I never had smoothies or juices. It's like I'm a completely different person." @daisyxmiller

The smile that didn't reach his eyes said something to Felicity. She didn't push, though. She knew that that kind of sadness settled into one's bones and stayed there no matter how much one smiled through it. Was. It was a word that struck Felicity, but she still didn't push. She knew that it was not her place. "Honestly, same," she laughed with a shake of her head. As he spoke about his cousin, she listened quietly. Her heart tugged a little at the distance he described, though she could not relate. "That sounds hard," she said, "but it's good you can still try even when it's not easy." That was something Felicity often admired in other people. "No, I haven't," she shook her head at his question. "I've barely been out of Kismet Harbor." She admitted, tucking a piece of her hair behind her ear. "I'd love to someday. Korea has always seemed beautiful." She continued, "What's your favorite thing about it?" @daehyunxkwon
Dae-Hyun smiled at Felicity's words but the smile didn't reach his eyes. There seemed to be a kind of defeat behind the smile, like a reminder to tell himself to smile in the face of heartbreak. Her asking about his daughter made his chest tighten, despite the fact he started talking about her himself. It had been a reflex, a habit. But he had mastered the ability to not give too much away, even if mouth did speak the truth that she was gone, along with her siblings and her mother. "She was." He softly spoke, the moment fleeting that the meaning behind them might slip through the cracks. The mention of goats pulled an actual laugh out of him, grateful for the change of topic. "Ever since I discovered those screaming goats, I will never look at them the same way. Nor will I look at Taylor Swift the same way." Dae-Hyun chuckled, looking at Felicity before he turned his gaze upwards, trying to spot some birds. "I do. It's difficult, because he lives in South-Korea and I am here. So it's mostly texting, or a quick phone call whenever needed, like birthdays. Timezones make it hard, though." He told her, not having spoken to anyone about his cousin other than to his brother. "Maybe I'll visit Korea again soon.. Have you ever been?" @felicityxnovak
