Why are threaded steel bar used in concrete reinforcement?
We know that concrete is quite good in compression while steel is great in tension. Steel is also good in compression but due to its high strength, the cross section generally becomes small and the smaller the cross section more are the chances of buckling, while on the other hand concrete has low strength so we require larger cross sections and in doing so we overcome the buckling effects.
The fact which makes it possible to combine concrete and steel is that concrete contracts on setting in the air and if a threaded bar is embedded in a mass of wet concrete, it will be found that there is some amount of considerable force that is required to pull out when the concrete is set.if the steel section is in the form of a plate. When concrete is set, it will resist removal, yet it can be knocked off by sharp blows.
The concrete grips are still in first case while in the second it only adheres. The thing is, grip depends upon the strength of concrete used in the work as well as the perfection with which the concrete has been placed in a position, mixed, compacted and cured. It also depends upon the condition of the surface of the rod (whether it is smooth or rough).
Steel reinforcement bars are generally categorized into two reinforcement - primary and secondary reinforcement as given below. However there are also other minor uses.
Primary reinforcement : It refers to the steel which is employed to guarantee the resistance needed by the structure as a whole to support the design loads.
Secondary reinforcement : It also refers to distribution or thermal reinforcement and is employed for durability and aesthetic reasons, by providing enough localized resistance to limit cracking .
Threaded rebar is also employed to confer resistance to concentrated loads by providing enough localized resistance and stiffness for a load to spread through a wider area.
Steel rebars can also be used to hold other steel bars in the correct position to accommodate their loads.
Importance of concrete reinforcement in threaded bar
1) The coefficient of thermal expansion of concrete is almost similar to that of steel, due to differences in thermal expansion or contraction, large internal stresses are eliminated
2) In concrete conforms, cement sticks to the surface of steel after it gets hardened, permitting any stress to be transmitted efficiently between the two materials. Therefore, threaded steel bar are roughened or corrugated to further improve the cohesion or bond between the steel and concrete..
3) In the hardened cement paste, alkali chemical reaction forms a passivating layer on the steel surface to make it much resistant to corrosion.
For optimum results, reinforcement needs to have the following properties-
• Bond with concrete
• High relative strength
• Ductility
• Resistance against corrosion.
Stainless Steel Reinforcement
Stainless steel threaded rebar is a fastener which is also known as a stud. Studs are generally made up of a long rods which have threading on both ends. Threading is a helical structure used to convert between linear movement or force, rotational. The presence of threading enables bolts, nuts and other fasteners to easily screw onto the bar.
Threaded stainless steel is used in sectors such as marine, construction, automotive, plumbing, and manufacturing. In general, studs are useful in any process where easy assembly and speed is required plus where there is a need to withstand high levels of tension and pressure.
There are many factors of concrete reinforcement in threaded rebar
With the most standard size fasteners.
These fasteners can be used to join metal or wood together, acting as a pin to connect the two materials.
They are often inserted into wood or concrete during a repair and can be used to stabilize structures ranging from wooden furniture to concrete walls.
Builders and contractors may also use a threaded bar when constructing homes or other types of building infrastructure.
These are also popular with metalworkers when building furniture or consumer goods.
For temporary down ceiling purposes.
Used for heavy machineries where proper alignment is required.

Threaded Steel Bar in Architecture, Building and Construction
Threaded steel bar is used in all aspects of architecture, building and construction. While it has been used in this industry since the 1920’s and is not a new material, threaded bar used and range of applications has been growing. Some applications are highly visible and stainless steel is both aesthetic and functional, such as curtain wall and roofing. Others are practical, safety related and sometimes hidden, like masonry and stone anchors, bollards and safety railings.
The number of different stainless steel alloys used in building and construction has expanded. The more highly alloyed molybdenum containing stainless steels are preferred by leading architectural and landscape design and structural engineering firms for more corrosive locations because of their enhanced corrosion resistance.

Benefits of Using Threaded Steel Bar
One of the main reasons why people choose to use threaded steel bar is because of its advantages and physical properties, the most popular is its corrosion resistance although there are many more.
The fact that it has such a resistance to high and low temperatures means that threaded rebar can be used for a number of applications and throughout a number of industries. Whilst some threaded steel bar will retain high strength at high temperatures other stainless steels will actually maintain high mechanical properties at cryogenic temperatures.
A major reason that threaded steel bar is used is because of its sheer strength. This has been proven through its use in the building and construction industry. The aesthetic appeal which stainless steel has makes it a popular choice for many. Stainless steel is available in a range of surface finishes and the fact that it can also be polished makes it aesthetically pleasing to the eye.
Its long life cycle makes it perfect for use in buildings and puts it ahead of other products in the fact that it will outlast many of them. When you add in that stainless steel is easy to maintain and put these reasons together overall it is the lowest cost choice for many in a life cycle cost comparison.
As it is an environmentally friendly material because it is 100% recyclable any new threaded steel bar normally contains around 50-80% recycled material. Threaded bar is undoubtedly a valuable material which has many uses within a whole range of industries and without it we would have to use other materials which wouldn’t be as effective.
Threaded steel bar refers to a group of corrosion-resistant steel alloys containing about 10.5% chromium. This chromium in the stainless steel reacts with the oxygen in the atmosphere and produces a thin and inert layer of chromium-rich oxide on its surface. Due to this layer, stainless steel is corrosion resistant. Unlike other protective coatings such as paint or galvanising, this protective film of chromium-rich oxide continues to protect the steel even if abrasion damages it. This film tends to re-form even after being damaged.
Threaded rebar is widely used for providing support and strength to the structure and is extremely durable. However, from an architectural point of view, stainless steel is also ideal for creating style. For any concrete structure, enhancements can be easily made using threaded bar. Moreover, when constructing a building, it needs a solid structure to support the entire building. Many important parts of a building including wind posts, lintels, and masonry are made from stainless steel. Stainless steel strips, steel wires, and steel plates are widely used to manufacture these fixings. In construction, stainless steel is also used for:

Two Types of Threaded Steel Bar
1.Mild Steel Bar
Mild Steel Bar are plain in surface and are round sections of diameter 6 to 50 mm. They can be manufactured in long length and can be cut quickly and bend easily without damage.
2.High Strength Deformed Steel Bar
High strength deformed steel bar are provided with lugs, ribs and deformation on the surface of the bar to improve the bond with the concrete. They are also twisted to improve the bond with the concrete.
Benefits of Buying Threaded Steel Bar
Threaded steel bar are needed as RCC structure. Concrete is the material that is very weak in tension but strong in compression. To compensate for this imbalance of concrete, we provide threaded steel bar in concrete to increase its tensile strength.
You therefore have to select the right type and grade of threaded steel bar depending on your requirement or as considered structural design drawing by the structural engineer.
Quality and Specification of Threaded Steel Bar
Buy only the grade of steel that are mentioned above.
Check the identification mark on the threaded steel bar from the manufacturing company like threaded rebar. Identification mark will be marked at every running meter of the bar length.
There should not be any rust film on threaded steel bar. Always buy threaded steel bar which are rist free.
Finance
You may economise and save on each and every individual item, but should not save on threaded steel bar. Some people avoid consulting the structural consultant and providing the steel as per thumb rule to save the fees of the structural consultant. They forgot that every structure has carried different behaviour and one cannot use the same thumb rule for different structures.

All About Threaded Steel Bar
A type of metal fastener with threads that is cut into both the ends is called threaded steel bar. These bars almost resemble a screw but are longer and thicker. The diameter is the same along the complete length. These bars sometimes feature along the entire length and at times only at the either end. This depends upon the model that is been used. They are at times referred to as all-thread or sometimes simply stud. The threaded rebar is basically used to fasten wood or metal together. It acts as a pin that is used to connect two materials together. They are also used to stabilize structures by inserting them into concrete or wood during repair. The builders use threaded rods while constructing homes or different types of buildings. The metal workers are popularly known for the use of these threads when they build furniture or consumer goods. The threaded rods serve as the best method to hang sheet metal ducts or any other equipment.

Threaded bar has evolved over the decades to be the building material of choice for everything from small residential homes to skyscrapers. When architects and contractors make the decision to use threaded steel over other materials such as concrete or wood, they do so because of steel’s overwhelming benefits when compared to many other building materials. Even if concrete must be utilized as the building material, it benefits greatly from the addition of a threaded steel frame. Wood and brick carry with them a distinct aesthetic appeal, but design flexibility often takes a back seat. For freedom of design, strength of integrity and ease of maintenance, threaded rebar is the smart choice.
Following are the advantages of using threaded steel bar in construction:
Durability
Threaded Steel Bar is superior in strength and it does not age or decay as quickly as other construction materials.
With a much higher strength-to-weight ratio (the strength of a material over its density) and tensile strength (ability to withstand stress from tension), threaded rebar will make for a lighter building that requires a less expensive and substantial foundation.
Threaded steel bar can withstand a considerable amount of external pressure. Therefore, it is earthquake resistant whereas concrete structures are brittle. Concrete is not as resistant as steel.
 Constructability
The strength, stiffness, toughness and ductile property of threaded bar allows it to be fabricated into an endless variety of shapes.
Threaded bar is assembled by bolting or welding the pieces together on site as soon as they are delivered as opposed to concrete, which takes weeks to cure before construction can continue.
Distribution of a building tension and compression stress among threaded steel beams architects more freedom with design space and the ability to make last minute alterations.
Cost Effectiveness
Regulatory and standardization policy have made threaded rebar components dependable and easy to erect after their fabrication. Streamlined efficiency transfer to save time and money. Just as an earlier return on investment and reduced interest charges.
A Short period of con also facilitate less of a disruption to the neighborhood of the site being developed. Opting for threaded steel can save the developer money on community public relation and government building  permits.
Steel or threaded steel bar prices can be steadily dropping. However, the threaded steel bar industries have been considerable technologies  development. Productivity advances in the steel or threaded steel bar supply chain means that developer have unfettered access to quality steel at a bargain cost.
Safety
Even though threaded steel bar is a non combustible material, the international building code requires that it be completely coated in a fire resistant material as its strength and integrity becomes significantly compromised in the instance of fire.
Water resistant coating is also advisable to prevent threaded bar from corroding.
It lacks the porosity necessary for mold and mildew growth, making it an ideal choice residential buildings.
Off site fabrication and fast component assembly makes threaded steel bar inherently safer to manage the construction site.
Threaded rebar is endlessly recyclable that makes it safe for the environment.
Threaded steel bar capability of recycle and can build structures easily and we can build any type of structures using threaded steel bar
It is completely safe and secure for building structures and can be built easily.

Threaded steel bar is appropriately named, as it is a type of steel that has a unique ability to resist stains and corrosion. 10% or more of threaded steel comes from the addition of chromium, which is what gives the steel its unique properties. The steel that is used to create threaded bar is a low carbon steel.
One of the most unique abilities of threaded steel bar is its ability to heal itself. The chromium content allows for the formation of an invisible chromium oxide film on the surface of the steel or threaded bar. If the damaged threaded steel bar is exposed to oxygen – even in small amounts- it will become self-healing, even with mechanical and chemical damage.
The Benefits of Choosing Stainless Steel Materials
There are different corrosion resistant properties associated with different grades of threaded steel bar. Because of the invisible layer of chromium oxide that protects threaded rebar materials, making them stain and corrosion resistant, stainless steel is also the ideal choice for hospital and other hygiene-conscious conditions.
Another major benefit of using threaded steel bar materials is the significant strength-to-weight advantage over other material options. Because of the unique ability of threaded steel bar to resist corrosion, heat damage and chemical damage, high strength duplex grades provide added strength, allowing for a reduced thickness in the material, providing a cost advantage over conventional grades of threaded steel bar.
Commercial Use of Threaded Steel Bar
Threaded steel bar requires a low maintenance, corrosion resistance and good looking material that is preferred in many commercial uses. The alloy can be made into threaded steel bars, wire, sheets and tubing, making it ideal for use in manufacturing surgical instruments, appliances, hardware, cookware and cutlery, for large buildings and skyscrapers, industrial equipment and much more. Kitchens, food processing plants, hospitals, medical offices, surgical centers and other industries rely heavily on threaded steel bar for easy cleaning and sterilization. The aviation industry also uses different grades of threaded steel bar materials due to their ability to add strength without adding a lot of weight like other materials.
Different Types of Threaded Steel Bar Material
Threaded steel bar materials that have a very high level of chromium, as well as grades of threaded steel bar that contain nickel, have the ability to resist scaling. This type of high level of nickel alloy can also retain its strength even at very high temperatures. Manganese can also be added in significant quantities to threaded bar compositions for similar results to nickel alloys, but at a much lower cost.
Carbon is added to some types of threaded bar materials to increase hardness and strength. When these materials are subjected to treatment by heat, the steel or threaded bar can be strengthened and honed for use in creating tools, cutlery and razor blades.

An Informative Guide to the Uses of Threaded Steel Bar
A type of metal fastener with threads that is cut into both the ends is known as threaded bar. These bars almost resemble a screw but are longer and thicker.
Threaded steel bar sometimes feature along the entire length and at times only at the either end. It depends upon the model that is been used. It is a times referred to as all-thread or sometimes simply stud. The threaded bar is basically used to fasten wood or metal together. It behaves as a pin that is used to connect two materials together. It is also used to stabilize structures by inserting them into concrete or wood during repair. The builders use threaded bar while constructing homes or different types of buildings. The metal workers are generally known for the use of these threads when they build furniture or consumer goods. The threaded steel bar serve as the best method to hang sheet metal ducts or any other equipment.

Following are the uses of threaded bar
The threaded steel bar is a versatile product that is used in all types of industries such as, electrical, agricultural and construction.
It is very popular as it eliminates the need for raw material. We will also not require threading equipment or any type of dies. These bars are produced with threads and is rolled under high pressure. This gives them greater strength therefore can be used along with standard nuts and washers.
The benefit with the threaded bar is that they can be cut with the help of metal cutting hacksaw or may be power band saw. It makes the nuts move easily over the threads.
If you use a rough saw, then you will require minimum debarring to clean the saw end. They are supplied in special lengths and grades.
The threaded steel bar are ideal for plant maintenance and industries more where corrosive conditions exist. It gives high humidity which is found in agricultural and electrical components.
It is most popular in plumbing and contractor fields. It is more needed in places where attractiveness & cleanliness is necessary.
It provides resistant to corrosion so is widely used in medical, maintenance and machinery.
What are the Material Used?
The threaded bar is basically a fastening bar in which direction matters a lot. Many other options like right hand or left hand or both. The right hand threads are generally configured in such a way that it can be tightened in a clockwise direction.
Aluminium that is metallic and light element having a good thermal and electrical conductivity. It gives very high reflectivity and is resistant to oxidation.
Brass is another material that is used for threaded steel bar which has good strength. It gives the great properties like high-temperature ductility. Good conductivity and low magnetic permeability.
Copper is malleable and ductile. It possess the best conductors of heat and electricity. Silicon bronze is another material that is popularly used in threaded steel bar.
