"You're almost there." David injected as much encouragement and enthusiasm into his voice as he could, hoping some of it would rub off on the other man and quell the frustration he knew must be building inside him. "Really, Killian… you're so close now. I think a bit more practice and training, and you'll have it."

Standing in the empty function room at the back of Olympus, David regarded his fellow vessel carefully. He had taken it upon himself to help Killian connect fully with the god sharing his body and his mind, hoping that forging a bond with Poseidon might bring the man some reprieve from the grief he felt for his lost brother. He had chosen to start where he had started – by calling upon the ethereal powers granted to them by their deities.

"You need to really focus your mind." He went on, holding out one hand. "Like this, watch." He closed his eyes briefly – unnecessarily, since he could call upon Apollo's power in a heartbeat – and with a fizzle of warm energy, Apollo's bow sparked to life in his hand. Opening his eyes, he gave Killian an encouraging smile. "I know it seems difficult now, but if you can summon Poseidon's trident like this, it will help unlock other abilities." Like going to Olympus itself, where you can see your brother again.
