historically,   he’s proven himself the type to push his limits.  this was true of how jaden had always toed the line of the strict training and diet regimens his coaches had laid out for him and it was now true of how he chose to navigate this casual thing with reese.  it wasn’t with any ulterior motives,   but just a dedication to surpassing expectations that he stood in her doorway with coffee  ( a subtle attempt to flex his attention to detail,  as he was nearly certain he’d memorized her order ).   but he flashed a grin,  and tried to pull it off:  he was determined to see to it that this too would pass.  “  thought you could use a little post-birthday weekend pick-me-up.  who knew that a combination christmas-in-july/white party would get that rowdy ?  ”  he said with a short laugh.  “  i need you to level with me though:  ”  he continued,  this time feigning severity,   “  did you get everything you wished for ?  ”  ( @hallcween​ )
