𝘤𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘧𝘰𝘳 @courtneyxblake
Cohen Blake was still shocked at the outcome of his life sometimes. He had loved Courtney for as long as he could remember - the two had met as neighbors when they were just five years old - and Cohen had made a promise to himself and to her that they'd be in each other's lives forever. And while they were living out that dream, there were still days that Cohen barely believed he deserved it. His life had been chaotic at one point, and despite the fact that he still didn't fee as if he did enough sometimes, he was more than thankful to have Courtney and her never ending love in his life. Because sometimes that was about all he had going for him. He parked the car outside his trailer, turning the engine off before he leaned into the passenger seat and grabbed his lunch box, tossing the water bottle inside and using his free hand to grab the flowers he'd picked from the side of the highway on his way home. Typical Wednesday night shenanigans if you asked him. Unlocking the front door, he made his way inside keeping quiet regardless of the fact he knew that he'd been heard - the unfortunate part of driving a beat up Bronco and living in a trailer often meant you couldn't show up at home unannounced - placing the keys in their designated spot before he took off his shoes at the front door, moving towards the kitchen and grabbing the now empty vase from the counter top. Filling it with water and placing the bouquet of wildflowers inside he returned it to it's home and moved through their home in search of his wife. "Court?" he called, quietening his footsteps in fear she may be sleeping and he was disturbing her.

a closed starter for my beautiful fiancée, @canncnball, for roan & brayden.
she was sitting up in his bed after her fit and he changed his sheets. the blood thankfully hadn't soaked through to the mattress, but tears rolled down her cheeks and his mother walked in to give her a glass of water. she gave the older woman a small smile and sipped from it before bringing her knees to her chest. when brayden returned, roan sat up better, "i'm sorry. i've been causing so much bullshit..."

When Lilith pulled panels of fabric and bags of materials out of the back of her Uber, she didn't think about people watching her like she looked insane. Running her teeny tiny boutique in Hell's Kitchen was her dream and every piece of lingerie was something she'd dreamt up or made to help someone else's dreams come true. She didn't have employees and if she needed a pair of hands she harassed her siblings into being those people. Littlest sibling perks, she called it. Nevertheless, eyes were on her as she bent over the back seat in her tiny denim cut offs. Stumbling into her shop once she got the door unlocked, Lili struggled to the back where she made garments to dump her goods. They'd hardly left her arms before she heard the door chime. "Coming!" She hollered, breathless, and then hustled their way.
Stopping in her tracks, rosy cheeked and doe-eyed, Lilith looked up-up-up the length of the man in her shop, "Hi there. You looking for something special?" Her voice was soft and she cleared her throat, "I just got back in for the day. I usually look more put together than this." She didn't, but he didn't need to know that. Her sisters were always telling her that she needed to stop wearing cut up shorts, dying her hair plum purple, and knotting vintage tees at her waist. They'd even tried gifting her comfortable minimalist attire to get her through her time with clients. At the end of the day, Lili let her work speak for itself.

closed for @sofiafuentes location: sofia's place in midtown
"You know how you're like the most forgiving person around?" Shivani said as soon as Sofia opened the door to her place and she slid inside. She handed her a gift bag that definitely housed the other's favourite wine and then another bag that had takeout from their favourite place. "I was going to get here earlier but a certain someone was insistent on dropping me and I know when to stop arguing so that I can actually get out of there." She began taking the dishes out of the bag and grinned at her friend. "I may have also bought too much...but I think between you and me, we can finish this off."

He glanced back at Sofia who was seated on the chair across from him and let out a heavy sigh. He hated September. The seasonal depression hit a bit too hard and it was never really that enjoyable. Not when he was a kid, not when he was a teenager, and certainly not as an adult. "Do we have any pressing client meetings today? I'm feeling uninspired honestly..." He tossed the keys of his latest vehicle in the air before grinning at the woman across from him. "You in the mood to go for a spin?" Sofia was his right hand, he'd truly be lost without her and much to his chagrin--she knew it very well. "Come on--just for a lunch break or something."

The bond Kashvi shared with Kye was pretty unique and she wouldn't trade it for anything. They'd absolutely had attraction between them at one point in time and had acted on it. Only for her to be ghosted. That did not sit well with her, she wasn't one to easily get spurned in life and that had absolutely put all her resources into tracking him down simply to give him a peace of mind. Once she had--it seemed that he was rather impressed and from that moment on--their relationship moved past that initial attraction into developing a real fondness for one another. While the flirting was constant thanks to both of their personalities, they both were better off as friends.
Which was precisely why after her cousin, he was one of the first people she'd sought out before even thinking of approaching her ex husband. She'd collapsed on his couch and looked up at him expectantly. "So--will you be to offering me something to drink, or is this more of a serve yourself type of place?" She was teasing him of course but that came hand-in-hand with the type of bond they shared.

@philoflore:
Well, perhaps tonight was not going to be suited for relaxing with a nice cup of tea. At least, this was what he figured. The patrons weren't much like the sort you found on the patios of his hometown, although he generally found that you shouldn't judge a person by their language, or their clothes, or the state of their hygiene, though he did pray that what he was seeing on the sole of these boots was mud. It didn't smell much like it did in his garden, and he kept his finger against his nostrils as he waited for the woman he thought to be the owner to return. She seemed to have it all under control, which he found quite remarkable, given the rough manners of her clientele.
"That look is nothing less but my way of expressing awe, Madam. Miss. Tavern keeper." He wrinkled his nose. He figured that the place was always in such a state, no matter the day. "Oh. Hum. I ... Well..." The look he gave her then was apologetic. He was just about to ask her something more complicated than that. "I suppose I can survive without tea. Perhaps do you store Chartreuse." It came from the bottle, and it also was just a cocktail of plants carefully selected. Closest and furthest thing to tea he could think of.
.
"Veda. Vee if you're feeling some sort of way," she introduced when he tried to assign her a title. The human was no madam or miss, at least not in her mind. Having spent the majority of her formative years in the tavern had erased any manners or courtesy she might have formed elsewhere. Veda's language and general attitude was the same as the rowdy patrons that helped earn her keep. And she wouldn't have it any other way. "But the awe is appreciated all the same. That being said, feel free to remain awestruck even as I reluctantly tell you I have no Chartreuse and offer you some Madeira instead?" Vee graced the man with her most charming smile, resting her chin in her hand and elbow on the bartop. The options were limited by the tastes of her usual clientele. She only carried Madeira for the few regulars that preferred wine. "I've been told the ale doesn't taste like horsepiss tonight, as well."

When Celine agreed that he looked good in the glasses, a wolfish smirk crossed Hunter’s lips. “See, I knew you’d come round,” he bragged, tone as assured as it would be if he were presenting in court. He watched her as she moved over to the desk, and when she reached down to swiftly remove the glasses from his face, Hunter couldn’t help but laugh.
“Technically, that’s theft, I could have you arrested for that. And I couldn’t be your lawyer either,” Hunter teased, another laugh following. He remained seated at his desk in the same comfortable position as before, entirely content to let Celine mess around as she saw fit. At her question about the look of the glasses on her, Hunter smirked. “Babe, you could pull off any look you wanted. You could come into this office wearing a bin sack, and people would still find you hot.” He winked when he finished, the male as ever an outrageous and unapologetic flirt.

location: dealer's choice casino closed for @mahirayc
Nik hadn't expected to run into Mahira when he'd shown up at the casino near the hotel but honestly it was a welcome surprise. Not to mention, they had an interesting history together with her most probably having a score to settle with him seeing as he'd beaten her at poker the last time they'd played together in Las Vegas. But now here they were seated closely enough at the poker table for him to be able to have a casual conversation with her. "The crowd in Vegas was better huh? These guys wager so little," he murmured in Hindi before giving her a smile that told her he was mostly teasing.

In just three simple words - ‘Jay, mi amor’ - Carla easily soothed some of the worry making his shoulders tense. Her nicknames for him always had a way of relaxing him, even in the most fraught of moments. Alongside those words, the way she came to rest her chin on his shoulder and slide her arms around his torso also helped to ease Jayson’s posture. However, it was Carla’s subsequent words that finally banished the worry from him, with her admission that the ‘organisation’ behind the task was in reality a bet between Carlos and her.
Jayson chuckled, and a grin spread across his lips. “It’s kinda my fault for assuming the worst, I guess. There I was thinking I was about to get whacked, and in reality it was a bet between you and your brother,” he mused, another laugh coming from him after the statement. He’d just been about to turn to face Carla when she nipped his earlobe gently, in a gesture accompanied by a playful purr about how talented his fingers truly were.
“Talented with safes… or talented when touching something else… you’re giving me mixed messages here, babe,” Jayson teased, smirking.

𝘤𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘦𝘳 𝘧𝘰𝘳 @mattswheeler
"I have to say.. going through his things is proving to be a lot harder than I realized." Teagan sighed, looking down at the box in her hand and then back up at Matt who had made an appearance to help Teagan go through her father's things. It was only right seeing as how Matt was the closest thing to a younger sibling Teagan had ever had. She knew that this would be tough, but she didn't want anyone else sharing this experience with her. "I wasn't prepared to cry at the first article of clothing I spotted." she sighed, looking down at the flannel and then back up at Matt wiping underneath her eye.

Even on a beach island vacation, Camilla would find a way to keep her title of “juice lady.” Where she found the supplies, for both non alcoholic and alcoholic drinks, or the cart she managed to hitch to Barbie to drag everything along with her was unimportant. It was juice time.
Camilla paused a moment, before a mischievous grin grew across her face. “I have just the thing for you.” She made a big show of pouring his drink, mixing an absurd amount of fruity citrus drinks with two shots of a bottle labeled “forever clear.” “Nice and strong for you!” 🍹
He doesn’t have the chance to say anything before Camilla, menace the woman was, begins mixing up some sort of infernal concoction before him—a mixture of alcohol and various different juices, none of which were to Valter’s particular tastes. He is not a drinking man, and as such, he does not recognize the “forever clear” included in the poison, but even without knowing for certain—
An exhale; a half-laugh; his expression grows serious.
“ I am not drinking that. ”
And then he smiles, easy and carefree, one hand absent-mindedly passing through his hair. “ I’m simply not a fan of things that are too sweet, you know. ” (The explanation is not the whole truth.)
“ If you were willing to try it first, however, ”—(he does not know her tolerance, but if it were poisonous, she would avoid it all the same)—“ perhaps I’d consider it. ”
(He wouldn’t, but he can lie.)

"Okay, now that the girls have gotten attention, we should head to the store if you want to eat dinner before midnight." Josiah laughed, taking a look at his younger brother. The two had made arrangements to have dinner and Josiah had arrived a few moments earlier, only to hear that his brother had placed the steaks in the pantry and the potato mix in the refrigerator, thus resulting in the need to go shopping. "You think they'd stay in the back of the truck if we took them with us or should we just leave them here?" he asked, petting his own dog one she was now back at his feet.

Taney looked over her shoulder, "Oh, all this paperwork and Mr. Serious has forgotten his words?" With a dimpled grin she shook her head. "Why would I get down when I love it so much when you spank me for insubordination?" While a sane person would obey, Taney was a nightmare, selfish and erratic one her best days. Her green gaze landed on the papers, not bothering to read them, simply observing the sheer amount of work he had to do. "Why summon me if you're clearly behind on whatever the hell it is you do?" Her head tilted to the side, the corner of her mouth curling, "Unless you like mailing papers out covered in cum. You do know you're supposed to lick the stamps, right? That that is supposed to be the only DNA on the damn things?" Her cackle echoed through the office. "Not it? So was I supposed to be your reason to stop working then?"

The session they'd been working on had ended just a couple minutes ago and a lot of the students were hanging around catching their breath, having some water and just cooling down. She caught sight of Kimberly on one of the benches and headed over to her before nudging her with her arm. "You look like you're having the best time so far...please tell me that's true or are you going to break my heart?" Shivani grinned at the other before taking a sip from her own water.

"Okay but this is why I was adamant on bringing the beer." Arnav stated as he glanced down at the dog at his feet who was looking up at him with the most curious expression. "Wait--what did you say the dog's name was again?" He wasn't normally a bad friend and he remembered the details but right now he was just very taken aback by all the new changes in his friend's life. He'd gotten back from a wedding overseas a couple weeks back and it seemed like so much had changed in his friend's life. "You've got to fill me in from the top on everything in your life, and yes I mean everything, because clearly a lot has changed."
