She pushed the nightmare aside, and could no longer remember it once she awoke. “I’m sorry.."she said embarrassed as her stomach gave another grumble as he reminded her about how she can’t eat yet and watched him get back up on his feet.
"I’m alright your majesty, there is no need to be concerned.” she said quickly, as he sent the guard to find the doctor. She watched as the guard disappeared at the prince’s request. She gazed at the crown prince and pondered over his words. She couldn’t think of a name, but thought about how she now owes her life to him now. She bowed her head and said sincerely. “I owe you my life. Please give me a name to live by from now on” she said, and then gazed up at him.
She thought about what she had to do now. She had overstayed her welcome, but had nowhere to go. She decided to brave up and ask him. “I have a request, your majesty” she said. “I have no way of knowing where and what happened. Could you please grant me a job in the palace? I want to live here until I am able to understand my origins and see if I can recover my memory” she said, as her eyes glossed over drearily. “I will work hard, please give me a chance!” she said, bowing deeply to him, her fists clenching. Also.. she thought tot herself. Being close to her savior was probably the safest place. In case she did have a family, it was probably not safe as someone could still be after her since she was found at the base of a cliff.
She had no idea yet that the culprit was in the palace itself.
“I am concerned.” he said having his own reasons for that. after all, his mind was telling him that there was more to this ordeal than met the eye. He was certain there was a connection, that was why, he had to make sure she would not only gain her memories, but also, she would recuperate and help him find out what had happened. at least that was the initial plan. he was certain that she had seen something and no matter what, her testimony was going to be helpful. “I don’t want the life i saved to go to waste you know.” he said smiling faintly at her.
At her request he did not feel surprised, she would need a name after all. however, at that moment he only name he could think of was “How about ha na?” he suggested thinking it was suitable to her. “”I think it is a good name. I’ll call you miss Lee Ha Na, we will say that you come from the provinces of joseon, i will arrange it. But you have to remember one thing. You will not say anything to anyone about having amnesia.” he made sure to point that out to her because he had to be cautious. “In a month from now, hopefully by then you will have recuperated completely, you will come to the palace to apply for the job with other women. this must be done since i cannot just hire whoever i want. i am a prince, but i have to follow the protocol.” he explained wanting her to understand that this was all for the formalities. of course he planned to hire her.
“you cannot work just yet. at your situation if i bring you , everyone will be very suspicious. my suggestion would be that for some time also i will not visit you because i don’t want to attract suspicions. however, i do promise to you my fair lady, that i will make you my personal servant so you won’t have to work for any other bastard in the palace.” he gently pat her back as an attempt to comfort her. “ i will wait for you in a month. i will prepare a background story for you to tell during the interview, rehearse it. remember, right now, if we want to find out what happened, we need to be strategic. we cannot reveal our cards to anyone else other than the doctor. i have given him strict guidelines on how he will handle your stay here. remember, you should not disobey my guidelines, if you say anything, you are screwed, and i don’t mean screwed as in, i will punish you, but the chances of finding out things, will be even more slim for you.”

time passed fast ever since dae’s arrival. aya was always careful with him and she would also take care of everything for him as well. especially if she were to help him find a job or keep things in the house clean. generally speaking, she had done her best to teach him about society, of course she had given him books as well to read about history and such since it was important to be able to know these kind of things, besides given his element she was certain he would learn things much faster than she did since he was most likely a brainiac.
it had been a week also since she had started filming again for a drama that would air later in the season and she was a bit annoyed because even though dae had a small role in it, they weren’ t filming together. but of course. she didn’t want to show her disapproval of that because she didn’t want to think about it. she would much rather treasure the time she got to spend with him at home when nobody else would be around to see them. that was why the actress had bought cheesepuffs and her favorite kit kat’s to feed him with later that evening.
she was wearing quite the comfortable house clothes, a tank top and just shorts and she was on one side of the sofa while he occupied the other one. the fire fairy observed his cute and handsome features as she tried to guess what was going on in his mind. “are you still bothered about mister sakai playing my husband in the drama?” she asked curiously raising a brow. “it can’t be that you are jealous right?”

As time passed, Dae caught onto the mechanisms of this world rather quickly- he had a feeling that in order to be more comfortable with Aya, he had to be able to adjust quickly to his surroundings. He diligently read through multiple sources of books to understand things, but was also enraptured by the internet. He found himself spending more time than usual on his computer, as he felt that the knowledge he found there was more than he could ever find if he went through a dozen books.
He also found it handy- when Aya was not over, he searched her up, and was able to quickly understand how popular she was, and how much of a ‘fanbase’ she had. He also watched through popular films that were ‘trending’ in this world. He felt amazed at the kind of feelings these human beings put into their plays, and subconsciously, he could find himself being moved by these shows. He began to get a grasp on the kind of work he would have to set out to do. Eventually, he did find a drama, and he started out with a small part. He reviewed the script multiple times, to understand the role better.
He had initially looked forward to working with Aya in the same drama - any chance to be closer with her. He ended up getting some part as he was still new, but every time he saw that other guy coming close to Aya with that blinding smile of his, it ticked him off majorly. His eyes glanced at the script he was reading, but the words barely entered his head, and he was frowning thinking of the guy, when Aya hit the nail on the head with her question. His expression softened as he looked at her.
“What will you say if I said am jealous?” he asked her, seriously, looking into her eyes. He moved his eyes away so he wouldn’t embarrass her, and looking back at his script. The sooner he becomes better at acting, the sooner he can get rid of others and stand next to Aya on the stage. His eyes glinted in determination as he began focusing on the part again.
After a while, he looked at her and asked- “Aya, can you help me rehearse this line?” he asked her, pointing that the scene where his character meets the female lead for the first time. He didn’t have much of a screen time in the play, but the character, though insignificant, played a pivotal role in the play.
she did not really expect him to so blatantly ask that and almost admitting he was jealous, for aya had remembered what he said, that he was in the human world because of some woman. but now, it seemed like there was a high chance that it wasn’t like that exactly or that maybe the woman he was talking about was aya herself. and that thought alone had her feeling almost excited for some reason. surely, if he were there to kill her, he would have done it. and if he were there to cause troubles, he would have done so. no, his presence was subtle but he was making sure that she knew he was around. even when he lived next door, they were basically living in the same house for both teleported from one apartment to the other if they wanted.
“i would say you have nothing to be jealous of.” she told him first wanting to get that out of the way. “i might have not told you anything but mister sakai’s wife and i are very very close friends. between me and him there is nothing but friendship. besides, i have my eyes on someone else actually.” she said before taking the script from him to see what it was that he wanted to rehearse. it was the perfect way to hide that sneaky grin she had on her lips. “ah well…” she smiled remembering the scene, she was also looking forward to rehearse it actually. “you can take a wild guess but maybe you will not even have to guess.” she added still hiding the smile behind the script.
finally revealing her face, she said, “we have to rehearse it a lot especially because our true feelings for each other should not show in our eyes as we act.” she explained to him hinting that she had probably understood how he felt and it wasn’t different from her own feelings. it would have been impossible for her to not be attracted, he wasn’t only sexy but also very endearing. she got attracted to him much more easily than she would have expected. frankly, it was a matter of time for her to just reveal things. “are you ready?” she said before starting to read the first line. “you must be ken-chan. my husband has talked to me about you. i know naoki can be a bit of a handful, but i hope you are working well with him.”

Sworn Oaths
Starter RP Thread - Jae x Yeo, Historical AU
Starter for @wangqyeo
Darkness. Pitch black darkness surrounded Jae - she wasn't scared of it, she half welcomed it even. But there was a small voice inside of her that told her repeatedly to not forget a certain something. She could hear the voice growing clearer and then fainter - She had to remember this no matter what happened to her. She had to live on, she could not forget. She could not give in. She was so curious; so numb. She could have just given in, it all felt so easy in that dreamlike state. Just as she was slipping beyond the point of no return, she heard the whispers, of events that just transpired barely an hour ago, reverberating through her entire consciousness.
"Should we spare her..?" a hesitant voice had come from one of the two assassins that looked down to the woman lying on the ground. "Spare no one. Those are our orders." he replied coldly, in a merciless voice. The woman was dressed in silk, and her hair bore a pin that confirmed that she was the eldest miss of the Yong family. The woman on the ground was shaking, but she refused to give them the satisfaction of knowing she was scared. "You men will receive heavenly retribution for this-" the woman seethed, as she glared up at the two men masked in black. The two assassins exchanged glances before making up their mind. Whatever hesitation the had instantly vanished, before they made clean work of the woman in front of them with their dagger, before she could even finish her sentence. The body fell on the floor with a thud... but before it happened, the woman's eyes fleetingly glanced in worry at the corner of the room where there was a hidden trapdoor, unseen by the assassins.
Jae stuffed her fist into her mouth from crying out loud in horror, her eyes wide, her face shockingly pale, trembling and drenched with sweat as she saw her closest attendant and friend Mina lying on the ground motionless. The second assassin watched the body once, before saying "That's the last one. Let's head back. He will be waiting." And then the figures disappeared. Jae sat there in horror, like she was re-living her worst nightmare. She barely realized when she stepped out and walked away from her friend who pushed her to safety and took her identity and ended up sacrificed herself. As she stepped out the room to the corridor, she saw men and women lying on the ground with wide eyes in surprise.. eyes that had looked at her cheerfully and dotingly every single day. She hardly realize that as she staggered towards her parents room, that her tears were flowing down from her phoenix eyes. When she finally reached her parents room, the sight almost made her collapse to the floor. Her mind became numb in disbelief as she stared at a dagger at the elderly man's side, stab wounds evident on them.
She held out her pale hands to touch the cold cheeks of her mother and father, and cried out a loud, heartbreaking note...
But this slightest sound alerted one of the last assassins who was about to leave. He immediately rushed back to check the rooms of where the voice originated from. Jae was startled as every pore on her skin sensed danger.
I must survive..
I must take revenge..
she thought, her brain still muddled in shock as none of this sunk in. She shakily took the dagger which was the evidence, before hiding as best as she can under the bed, just in time for when the assassin barged in. His gaze swooped through the room once and decided that no one was there, before he left, again. Jae clasped the dagger tightly in her hands, as her heart started beating wildly. She must escape.. once they realize.. they would come back for her!
She couldn't stay here a moment longer. Collecting herself, she had run, in the middle of the night, barefoot, dressed in Mina's maid clothes. The only thing she had left on her body that was proof that she was the left minister's daughter was a single intricately carved jade pendant hanging on her neck. She ran as fast as she could, but she remembered accidentally slipping and the feeling of falling from a height.. Her head felt like it had received a tremendous blow. She felt like at a distance.. a shadow would most likely follow her.. they would be coming for her and will kill her too.
"Mother.. Father.. I am sorry I couldn't join you. This ungrateful daughter will surely take revenge for you. I swear on my life." she mumbled, as a tear slipped out from her eyes, as all her emotions became numb and unbearable.
And that was the last memory she held on to subconsciously, before she gave in to the darkness.
By the base of a cliff, a petite outline of a person could be seen by the rocks. Her long dark hair splayed haggardly on the floor, matted by blood. Even as she lay unconscious, her breathing getting more shallow by the minute, her hands still held onto her dagger tightly, one with a bright opal encrusted by its hilt.
That night, the thunder rumbled, and rain splattered without mercy upon the bodies that lay on the floor in the left minister's home, creating rivulets of blood that soaked the ground. Not one soul - servant or noble was spared. The imperial city would reel in shock and scandal the very next day, realizing how the there was no longer balance in the factions. With the left minister dead, the right minister now had total control. There would be a major change in power soon. The question still remained- who would dare to commit such an atrocity right under the emperor's nose?

starter for @thoughtsofawaterlily with aya + dae
michiko invited aya out along with saito and kazuki to drink together and enjoy. by the end of the night everyone was drunk and aya of course wasn’t but acted like she was so as to not have them suspect her. when everyone decided toend their night she went first inside the ladies room and while there and away from the eyes of people and cameras she was engulfed by the flames and disapparated only to re-apparate inside her apartment. she took off her high heels and the first thing she did was to change into more comfortable clothes.
“finally home sweet home. should i cook or just eat snacks..” she mumbled and went to get the pringles and a bottle of beer from her fridge. she went outside in her balcony placed them on the table she had there and then before sitting she went to gather the clothes she had hung out to dry. using her foot she pulled the empty basket closer and first and foremost she gathered her precious underwear, part of her growing collection, and threw them in the basket. happily humming the melody of zootopia’s soundtrack she picked her dresses, pants and shirts. “yosh– now—” she stopped and froze in her spot. she felt something strange. an energy that she had never before came across while in the world of humans.
hesitating to turn around she closed her eyes and took a deep breath but the same aura stayed. it was a familiar aura she had come across to only while in nireido. that was strange. she gulped…her heart raced in her chest. ‘could it be…my family? it’s definitely not eriol...’ she was so hopeful that she turned around only to see someone who certainly didn’t look like he’d be related to her. she stared at him , her heart sinking in her chest seeing as her hope was ripped apart. a man was sitting outside in the balcony next to her own. she stared in confusion unable to say anything. what could she say? the chances were so slim that he’d also know…no no.. he should know. he should also be able to tell she was not human. she froze .. ‘crap and i don’t have the notice me not spell on me..’ she thought to herself hoping that at least he wasn’t into dramas and movies and would have no clue who she was. if he were to be like her it would be strange. maybe he was also abandoned....
‘should i say something or pretend i didn’t notice him? but you cannot pretend you didn’t notice him stupid because you are staring at him. i’ll pretend i didn’t notice his aura… ‘ her own personal conversation took place in her mind while she was unable to look away from the weird neighbor who out of an impossible coincidence originated from the same universe as her own. ‘what if he is like me? maybe he is like me too… poor thing…he is also quite handsome...’ the possibility that her assumption was true made her feel obligated to say something. speak , be friendly. hopefully he was the friendly type. “hi. ummm.... are you from nireido too?” she asked offering a warm and friendly smile. of course she had completely forgotten the fact that her personal laundry was already there in front of her for him to look at. the only reason she was hanging those stuff outside was because she thought there was no neighbor next door!
