ohhhhh no i made myself angry about an election from 112 years ago
#thought too long about the election of 1912 and uh. i guess this is where im at now#teddy ran as a progressive!! he ran bc he was upset by how conservative taft was!!! annd tried to run as a republican and narrowly lost the#nomination!!! so he ran as a progressive!! and got second!!!! BEATING TAFT by like. 6 states and like 4-5% i believe?#more people wanted the progressive candidate!! and if the rnc had SEEN that roosevelt wouldve won!!! but he didnt and bc of how this country#does its elections he was never going to have a chance. bc a 3rd partys never gonna be able to beat a united front#wilson had like 41% of the vote!!! that was the lowest winning percentage at the time. maybe ever? idk#it was a crazy election! the socialist candidate (bc there were socialist candidates) got 6%!!! thats wild!!!!
