Howl's Moving Castle may not be my favorite Ghibli film, but it's absolutely one of my favorite Hisaishi scores
#some of it is similar to his previous work but imho hisaishi really struck gold with this one#howl / laputa / n.ausicaä are prob my favorite ghibli scores (not necessarily in that order)#though the main theme from the w.ind rises fucking one-shotted me the first time i heard it#never in my LIFE have i openly wept at a film's OPENING CREDITS#the rest of that score is whatever but the main theme?? g o d#this isn't to dunk on the other ghibli composers either! they're all good! but hisaishi gets me every time#OH WAIT p.orco rosso great too
