She rather thinks that days like this are her purpose now. The world would still have its Keeper, and her work would never end, but her found family is her reason. And she doesn't have to do it alone for now. And while she craves days like these, having Evie by her side on missions is such a breath of fresh air. They worked in harmony together, understanding each other's strengths and weaknesses and gods forbid anyone stand in their way. Perhaps that is why their connection runs so deep, they are just as happy at peace as they are in action. She couldn't possibly ask for more.

The bird continues to do his little happy dance as he waits for more meat. The little guy seems completely oblivious to the fact that he didn't need to eat, acting like any other eagle would... if not a bit more domesticated and absolutely spoiled. The worst part of it is that he knows how charming he is and he abuses that privilege all the time. On Kassandra, on Evie, he's tried it with Jacob and Henry to pretty successful results, most of the time. It's why she loves mornings like this, her two favorites by her side with no concerns in the world. As Kassandra sees Evie go for more of her own food to offer to Ikaros, Kassandra puts her own sausage on Evie's plate. Out of the two of them, Evie actually needed food, not Kassandra.

The immortal tapped her chin in thought. "Hm, good question... uh, Jacob? Henry? I don't meet anyone under normal circumstances."

evie would like to think the same: just exploration, little moments, family -- but that's never particularly been her. she particularly enjoys deconstructing political advantages and finding artifacts to keep out of the wrong hands. sometimes it's just a lot and these moments will always be necessary. important. she's just also somebody that's never really wanted a traditional family. settling down to have kids, getting married, and cooking for a man that'll work his life away. marriage should never be a commitment born of traditional value ... and instead from a deep connection. only.

evie's smile is so grandeur in it's simplicity. somehow. head just resting against kassandra's sturdy arm. ikaros is such a picture of majestic and cute, a complete bird of prey, but evie would be lying if she said she just didn't have a soft spot for animals. it is absolutely one of the times she loses her completely serious outer demeanor to act excited. leads about artifacts and found history also received this treatment. evie only moves her hand from kassandra's thigh to reach for another piece of sausage, taking a bite of it herself. this slight hum of approval before handing the other half to ikaros.
