Well... I am actually ploting a Walburga/Euphemia story... anddd felt like sharing some headcanons I have about her?
1. I hc her as an Ollivander. Since it's said James a pureblood and I pretty much like to believe Effie was from the Sacred 28
2. The hc of "Slytherin Euphemia" is fun and, truly, I love it. But- Ravenclaw Euphemia. For me she's a Ravenclaw. That's it. Just Effie being a Ravenclaw, house whose "traits" are curiosity, intelligence and creativity? THAT'S HER.
3. Her parents were... something. Not totally prejudiced like the Black's, but not "blood traitors" like the Potter's. So when Euphemia get together with Fleamont they weren't really happy about the social status/reputation but happy for their daughter. Mr. and Mrs. Ollivander died when Effie was on her 20's.
4. She and Walburga befriended in the end of their first year at Hogwarts, thanks to a project on a class both attended. They, somehow, warmed up to each other pretty quickly.
5. Euphemia's mother was from a pureblood family in Spain, so Effie is half-spanish and half-european.
6. She and Fleamont were friends since third year because they both wanted the same book in the library and started to hang out from this day.
7. James' absolute love from Quidditch comes from her, though Monty enjoys it, too. She played as seeker and was good at it.
8. Waleffie (or badlove, maybe?) dated in sixth year. They got together less than a month after the school year started, and broke up the night before the school year ended, in bad terms.
9. It was Walburga who confessed first, but Euphemia who made the first move. The reason she told her feelings was because she heard Irma and Pollux planning on marrying her with Orion, and something in her wanted to at least "be Effie's" before it happened. Still, the confession was an accident.
10. This leads to their break up, too. Because Euphemia discovered Walburga would marry Orion anyway, and, after her girlfriend denying being saved from this, they had a fight. A big fight. During the summer, Walburga was married to Orion and Effie get closer with Monty.
11. They never talked after the break up. That's it. Until Walburga dared to appear in front of her home to bring Sirius and Regulus after the younger Black brother ran away, too. And, just like the last time they talked decades ago, they argued.
12. Fleamont/Euphemia only happened after Hogwarts, when they were 19, almost 20. Monty has had a crush on her since their fifth year, but never dared to act on it. Speacially after learning about her and Walburga's relationship. Effie made the first move, again.
13. In the end, Euphemia fell in love twice, even though most people think she did once. One time for a broken girl who didn't want to be saved and now she can't even recognize anymore, and the other for a lovely man who she stayed in full of love marriage until her last breath.
And, I know they were a lot of hc, but I love Euphemia and love to think about her. Like, birth family? House while on Hogwarts? Relationship with Monty and others? So much to think. Just like when it's about the Valkyries.

this got lost in my inbox, but i'm so glad to have re-discovered it !! i adore your take on euphemia π€²π€²
i have very little to add onto this, i want it to just be shared with the masses because it's very lovely<33 i 100%% agree with your general hcs about effie. i stand by ravenclaw!euphemia until the day i die β she is the definition of witty, energetic and creative β and her as an ollivander and seeker makes so much sense!
your plotline for her and walburga is so heartbreakingly beautiful and realistic</33
i'm a multishipper through and through so i enjoy both euphemia/walburga and euphemia/fleamont lmao so this is perfect
