love that the hospital apparently had an 83% mortality rate before the lead lady uhhhh *checks notes* mopped the floor
#the artful dodger#apparently every patient was giving birth and being attended by a medical student fresh from his latest dissection#i think the usual rate for surgery was already like 20-40%#was that not dramatic enough?#and i assume some patients are also there for other reasons#so that would probably put the death rate a bit lower#though given how much surgery they crammed into 2 episodes#every patient probably IS in there to get chopped up at least a little#my dark void of oliver twist adaptations
