So I have the feeling Yomi will want to become a perfect humonculuds like Makoto. So he might be looking for the source of the first humonculus believing it will give him perfect immortality. I just thought it would be interesting and I like making Yuma a damsel in distress

Ooh, that’s a good point! Yomi would feel jealous and infuriated that he is still mortal by mind since when he comes back to life, he wouldn’t be sure if his mind would still be intact or not (and it wouldn’t be a lot still). Plus it would risk him relying on the Unified Government to get his consciousness back, only to be made into one of their immortal soldiers under their service. So him wanting to know more about how the UG created the first perfect immortal Homunculus (Makoto) so he could truly be immortal as well does makes sense.

Course, he would try to look for Makoto himself on his own powers and terms because he knows the UG would say no. I mean, giving a clearly mentally unstable man the power of perfect immortality? Even if they view the Homunculi as human beings, they would not do that. So Yomi would have his outside resources to go hunt down in capturing Makoto for himself (yippee, more parties for Makoto to run from).

I do see where your head is in making Yuma a damsel in distress. The scenario I can imagine is that Yomi figures out one of the detective-in-training is actually his arch-rival back in Kanai Ward working with the World Detective Organization, and after learning or watching how close Makoto is with his ‘brother,’ he would use Yuma as bait and get Makoto to surrender to Yomi’s hands and not risk leaving (though he might have to take care of a few detectives as well since they would go to rescue him as well). Though I won’t lie, that sounds a little too similar to the idea I could use for the Death Detective AU (Yomi tricking one of his enemies to surrender by a form of blackmail). I will play with the idea though because it is very possible and in-character for that to happen, and I also like Protective Nocturnal Detective Family coming to the rescue. Plus, I think Makoto might be more a damsel-in-distress in this AU considering how many parties are after Makoto (don’t worry, Yuma will have his moment to be a damsel-in-distress too🤭).
