Hello. I love the bartenstein. Like Regulus would clearly make his own perfect boyfriend. That makes so much sense. And after he is completely healed, I bed Regulus would love the scars of his own creation. Barty would be so clingy and hopelessly in love that he will do anything for Regulus and Regulus just loves him for it. Amen

when i was making up this au in my mind i was debating if it was regulus creating barty from scratch as his experiment or was it a desperate attempt at bringing him back to life after some incident because he can't live without him. but in the end it doesn't matter bc in both cases they have to (re)learn each other.

no matter how barty came to be i imagine regulus used the darkest of magic for that to happen... some blood magic/necromancy/sacrifice/maybe something soul related so they have a physical bond which makes them inseparable. regulus loves his creation and barty has no other choice but to love himself too because he a product of regulus

... and yes they are sappy and in love and nothing existential haunts them bc i said so
