I've now read through the fast-pass episodes, so I thought I'd give some of my thoughts on Nevermore.

Spoilers beneath the cut :)

I was starting to like Annabel Lee up until the thing with Ada. I think the entire sequence really highlights what a selfish person she is and how dumb her entire plan is in reality.

First off, if Annabel was nearly the calculating mastermind she thinks she is, she wouldn't have completely tossed away someone who is obviously incredibly powerful and dangerous when there are definitely ways she could have spun that situation to keep Ada on her side. Now the biggest threat to both Lenore and Annabel's safety was given a clear field to collect that ally and do even more damage.

Second, her behavior in the Bell challenge absolutely shows us that a large part of what this is about is Annabel's love for games. It's really obvious through the behavior of both Ada and the other students that her entire plan for escaping is unnecessary; take out Montresor, Will, and Prospero and pretty much everyone would likely be Lenore and Annabel's allies and those who aren't wouldn't stand a chance against them. The entire "let me win so the others don't see you as a threat lol" was complete bullshit because everyone already sees Lenore as a threat, which Annabel is aware of. Also, sending Montresor after Lenore when he's already threatened her multiple times was the stupidest move she could have made if she wants to actually protect her girlfriend and not let on that they know each other because he literally reads minds.

Moving on, I feel like a lot of people just stop reading whenever Ada shows up because everyone is wildly misinterpreting her actions and just going "help mcs good, hinder mcs evil irredeemable bitch"

Like, the commenters on the newest chapters act like she's been actively chasing after Prospero with no justification, as though Annabel (who is shown to be pretty much the only person Prospero talks to or respects) didn't tell her that he was into her and that he would appreciate her chasing after him! She's a little delusional for still being so into him when he's awful to her, sure, but she actively believes that this is just because he's nervous about showing affection in public and it's shown that Prospero does actually indulge her crush when it serves him. Also based on the flashback, of course she would cling to someone who resembles her past lover, that's probably just how she thinks people who love you act! And then when her only friend completely drops her after the guy Annabel told her had said he was into her says he would literally rather die than be in a room with her, followed up by Annabel calling her a spoiled brat because she didn't get what she wanted (what the actual fuck btw) and sitting there stroking his hair in front of her, of course she immediately clings to the first person who tells her what she's been dying to hear from someone her entire life AND death. Is what she says about Duke fucked up? Yeah, but Duke also constantly makes fun of her and it's not like Duke wasn't ready to let someone he didn't care about die? I hope she goes insane and kills Montresor and then trades rooms with Lenore

Also, I would love to see more of Bernice and Eulalie's backstories. From what I can tell, it looks like Bernice was a flapper girl known for being a drunk who got hit by a car (or possibly murdered by someone trying to assault her, given the person saying they were "just trying to help her home" and making it a point that she was drinking)? And Eula was a Japanese immigrant working for an orphanage that got hate-crimed. I also like the rounding out of Eula's character other than just "creepy girl with wide eyes says and does creepy things". It's obvious that she's very protective of her friends because she couldn't save the kids in the fire. I love her, I want good things for her.

Pluto continues to be my child and I wish everyone in this comic would stop calling him weird for doing literally anything. Also just the fact that he hugs Lenore whenever he sees her 🥹 he's gonna be crushed when he figures out the plan. And standing up to Prospero!!!! That's his roommate and it's gotta be terrifying to think about pissing him off but he still did that for his friends! (Also shout out to Morella. "Oh no I tripped" istg)

I was very surprised that his crush is on Eulalie, and I honestly don't see them getting together? I feel like there's more evidence to suggest that Eula likes Bernice and Pluto likes Duke even if that's not what the authors are intending lol. If they plot twisted it so that Pluto had lied about his crush on Eula I would not be mad

Lenore has definitely moved up to my favorites, and I relate a lot to her backstory (no I was not drugged and locked in an attic before setting fire to my home I promise 😉)

BnHA Chapter 256: Fucking Superb You Funky Little Hero Eggs

Previously on BnHA: Aizawa and Mic’s frankensteined best friend Shirakumo, better known to us as Kurogiri, had his memories briefly restored through the Power of Friendship, and was all “YO Y’ALLS BETTER GO CHECK OUT THOSE HOSPITALS” before his head started steaming like a tea kettle and he randomly fell asleep. Aizawa and Mic were all “!!” and Aizawa was all “(ಡ ﹏ ಡ)” and Mic was all “Aizawa are you crying” and Aizawa was like “NO!!!” and then they left the prison and Nao called HPSC Lady who called Hawks and was all “eck-chay ethay ospitals-hay” because Hawks, as you recall, is still a secret agent and all that. Anyway so Hawks was all “EUREKA!!” in his head which doesn’t really add up but hey, and then the chapter ended with Dr. Ujiko dancing in sadistic glee as he watched Tomura get all mad scienced. It was pretty freaky. I could use some wholesomeness right about now so let’s see if this chapter will deliver.

Today on BnHA: Class 1-A shows off the fresh skills they learned during their assorted internships, such as “determination”, “enhanced search techniques”, and “becoming a literal blob of acid.” The Wonder Trio is a particular highlight, and All Might is all “my little baby off to destroy people :’)” as he watches Deku shred a robot to pieces using Blackwhip. We then cut to Aizawa and Mic, who may or may not be planning some rogue vigilante style investigations of the whole Noumu thing, or maybe they’re just brooding, but either way they’re interrupted by Mirio and Tamaki who come running in to get them to stop Eri’s quirk from going haywire, which, yikes. The chapter then ends with All Might handing Deku a notebook full of DETAILED, CATALOGED INFO ABOUT THE PAST SUCCESSORS AND THE FUCKING SIXQUIRKS. We just have to wait two more weeks to find out what that’s all about. 2020’s got some fucking zip to it so far huh.

so it’s about a quarter past 7 right now and it’ll be a miracle if I can have this recap up by 10pm tonight. surprisingly the wait for this chapter didn’t really bother me, but this Sunday/Monday release schedule is really doing a number on my punctuality. but anyways we’ll figure it out eventually. if memory serves, there’s about a 90% chance that this week’s jump will also be a double issue, so that gives me another extra week to get my shit together lol

(ETA: so that wasn’t too far off actually! i have quite a resting bitch face so almost all of my friends and mutuals said they were rlly intimidated by me at first but when i warmed up to them they realised that im the kinda random and spontaneous one in the group (like i kinda do weird things sometimes hehe and im pretty loud at times) also tbh i dont like authority and i dont particularly like to follow rules (im the kid who never listens in class oop)

i have a tiger mother ☹️ shes kinda like one of those rich asian ladies who believe anything they say/believe overrides the beliefs of others and the type that likes to use her children to her benefit (sorry i may sound conceited and ungrateful but my mother is not a really kind person) she puts studies before health and likes to overwork people and i think that growing up in this toxic environment has led me to dislike authority so much and not be willing to go down the career path she has chosen for me (aka medicine)

i think im pretty emotional at times for situations that others might not find worth thinking too much about (basically just a mass overthinker 😔🤚🏻) and this is just a weird fact but i dont think i ever rlly cry when im sad like i cry 99% of the time because im angry or frustrated or indignant about something. maybe sadness was the initial emotion but it always develops into one of the mentioned emotions before the tears come yay

also i LOVE pda and skinship in general :) this might sound weird but hickeys are so cute to me idk why hhhhh and i like to be the small spoon when cuddling ☺️ (yes i like taller guys but the members you decide dont have to be the tallest :))

another thing is that im a dancer ! ive been dancing for 12 years now and i really really love using my body to express myself :) when i was rlly young i started with ballet to get my foundations right and then i progressed to jazz (because ballet was too much effort 🥲) and then later contemporary/lyrical and now i kinda stick to urban/kpop style 👍🏻

also this is irrelevant but yg is having global auditions soon in the city i live in so yeah i rlly hope i have a bit of luck because being able to dance and sing has been my DREAM since i was a kid 🥺

let’s start with the fact that would loooove that you are so spontaneous, I think we all can tell that haechan is a free spirit and that he constantly wants to do stuff, have fun and live life. He would support you in any of the random stuff that you want to do, and he would follow you in any impulsive plan that you have out of nowhere. He would just feel so excited about it and he would be so comfortable too. I think he also doesn’t listen to other easily and always wants to do what he wants, so I think that would make you to understand each other really well. He is a rebel to, he definitely is, so he would be really attracted to that part of you. He would see the whole situation with your family and your career and all of that, he would be super supportive, he would tell you to follow your dreams, do what you love and what you that’s the best for you. I mean it, he would be super intese and he would really want you to do what you really like, he would probably even talk to your mom about it lol. He would just care a lot about your well being. Since you are a dancer and love dancing he would encourage you to join an academy, a company, go to an audition, because he knows it would make you happy. When you cry a lot and start being really emotional he would be there for you, get you back to your senses and let you know that everything is gonna be okay. He loves skinship a lot so he would always be all over you, kissing and hugging you the whole day!!

I just think Jeno would be such a good boyfriend to anyone and he would know how to adapt to a lot personalities. He is really chill and he likes calm, but someone as spontaneous as you would just make his life more exciting and he would have a lot of fun being around you and trying to take care of you while you are doing random stuff. When you don’t listen to others and just do what you want he would laugh a lot because he loves that you are like that. He loves that you are so determined and that in important situations you go with your decision, he would admire that a lot. When you are being to rebellious he would try his best to make you cool down a little bit and relax, he doesn’t want you to go all crazy lol. He would take care of you a lot, always wanting to know how you are feeling, what you are doing and just everything that has to do with you in general. He would want you to purchase dancing since you really love it a lot, he would have deep conversations about this. He would like to do some dances with you and that would be the coolest thing ever. When you start to be really emotional about something he would worry a lot and he would always be there for you so you have someone to rely on. I feel that he wouldn’t really be into pda but he likes having skinship with you, always hugging you and giving you the softest kisses.

Johnny is such a fun and cool guy to be around. His personality woud go really good with yours, he likes to have fun so he would always want to spend time with you, so like that we would enjoy all of the random stuff and the random plans that you figure out. He would always make you company, he wants to take care of you and be there for you for anything that you need. I think he really expresses his opinions, but he still considers that you are a little bit more rebellious than him, he would fins it really attractive and bold from you, but he would also tell you when you need to step down a little. He would always want the best for you, so when it comes to you carrer choice he would want you to do what you really like, he would be really worried if you feel upset by doing other thing. Tbh, I also feel like he would try his best to even talk to your mom about it. When you are being emotional he would try to make you laugh and forget a little bit about the situation. He would like to have you wrapped around his arms and kiss forever.

YSU Spring Awakening

I just saw ysus production of spring awakening and I thought I take down my thoughts!! Before I start I loved this so much so any criticism is meant to be constructive!!

Wendla was AMAZING!! She gave me some DWSA vibes, despite the fact that they were very different performances!

Mama Who Bore Me was not a highlight, but it was very good!

Reprise was same tbh

At first, I didn't think I was gonna like Melchior. All that's known started a bit shaky, but he pulled it together quick!

LET ME JUST SAY: THE COSTUMES WERE GREAT!! As far as I know, ysu students made them and they were impressive!! Some of them had colored hair and when I first saw that I thought it would ruin the immersion, but it didn't!

I LOVED MORITZS ACTING!!! HIS ACTING WAS ON POINT!! HE WAS AWKWARD AND GOOFY AND SEEMED LIKE A HOT MESS!! (I got a picture with him but I'm not gonna post it) his singing was not the best and if he would have been angrier and let his voice not be perfect (let in crack a bit as it fits the role) it would have been 10x better. Still love him!!

Bitch of Living was good, not what I was expecting, but good.

AND IN MY JUNK IS ENTER THE LESBIANS!! They literally put this lesbian couple in every single scene they could and honestly 100/10 just for that!

During the part were Hanschen is jacking it, the audience was DYING!! There were also ALOT of old people in the audience and alot of them were laughing too!

Touch Me once again features the lesbians in full effect!! I'll admit the I stereotyped Georg when I saw him but he HIT THOSE NOTES SO WELL!! loved the choreography as well.

This is the point where I thought that Melchior was great!! His monologues were great!! He gives the Melchior vibe!

MARTHA WAS PERFECT!!!!!! SHE HAD A BEAUTIFUL VOICE ABD THE SCENE WAS SO FULL OF EMOTION!! SHE HIT THIS RIF THING AT THE END AND I QAS SO SURPRISED IT WAS SO GOOD!! ALSO ALL THE OTHER GJRLS WERE SITTING BESIDES MARTHA ILSE AND WENDLA AND MARTHA WAS STAGE RIGHT, ILSE STAGE LEFT AND WENDLA DEAD CENTER AND I THINK IT PERFECTLY SYMBOLISED/ FORESHADOWED THS BEATING THAT COMES LATER!!

I did really like the way this was staged! Moritzs father left and Fanny Gabor came on stage and tried to comfort Moritz before giving him the letter and starting the song. It was really cool

Both wendla and Melchior did wonderful in the beating scene, but it pissed me off that people were laughing during it. Idk I didn't like that they were laughing...

Mirror Blue Night was great

OK DURING THE BEGINING OF I BELIEVE MY MOM GOT A PIECE OF GUM FROM HER BAG AND THE CONTAINER MADE A LOUD POP NOISE TWICE (2) AND I EANTED TO DIE VECAUSE IT WAS IN THE REALLY QUUET DRAMATIC PART!!!

I BELIEVE WAS GREAT!! (the lesbians were there)

Intermission: I made a friend, yo if you see this lol

Guilty ones sounded so beautiful!! (++Lesbians)

I was not big on don't do sadness/blue wind in this production, but ilse was very good, acting and singing. AFTER THE SONG WAS OVER THOUGH WHEN MORITZ DOES THE THING (avoiding major spoilers) HE DID SO GOOD!! HE SOUNDED LIKE HE WAS AT THE END OF HIS ROPE WITH EVERYTHING! Left behind was absolutely beautiful (probably a bad time, but lesbians)

Reformatory scene was hilarious just saying. (I think they were playing soggy biscuit (if you don't know what that is, you don't want to))

Purple summer was BEAUTIFUL!! I don't want to spoil anything for people that haven't seen it so I can't say what made this so beautiful. (The lesbians are back too)

Morning! We hope you loved our review of the Scottish subscription box, WeeBox, and are now ready to get into some straight Outlander talk! But use caution: This contains Outlander season 3/Voyager Spoilers! Read no further if you haven’t read the the third Outlander series book!

Now that you’ve been warned, are you ready to talk about Voyager and what might come in season three of Outlander on Starz and what Sarah and Kelsey are looking forward to, plus where you can see some of the stars, besides what we mentioned in another post, which you can read here.

Anyways, here’s Kelsey with some of her book-themed dreams, hopes, thoughts, and feelings before Sarah brings in her movie skills to tell you all about the new actors and actresses that are gracing the Outlander stage with their presence!

♥Jamie’s return to Lallybroch♥

It’s going to be sad, seeing Jamie wounded and hiding in Dun Bonnet’s Cave for so many years with only a few books to keep him company. As you probably read on our Legends of Outlander post, there was a real-live man named James Fraser who hid in a care and was nicknamed Dun Bonnet by the cap he wore. Nice connection, Diana!I love seeing history come to life and see how things connect. Something I’m not too thrilled about seeing it when little Fergus get’s caught up in the traitor madness and looses his crafty little hand. I assume more than one tear shall be shed for our tiny adopted Fraser.

♥Friends Foreverrrrr♥

The peculiar relationship between Jamie and Lord John Grey is something that I’m curious to see brought to life on the screen. I’m not saying it’s romantic, you know Jamie only has eternal eyes for Claire, but his friendship with Lord John Grey is going to be one of the cornerstones for the series moving forward. Without Lord John Grey, Jamie’s time in prison, and his later reunion with his biological son, might never be possible. Although, it looks like they’re setting it up to be more romantic in the show than it was in the books, something I’m not really into, as I think their complicated friendship in the series was compelling and deep. I almost feel like making it sound like a torrid love affair, like in some other blog posts and news stories, cheapens their dynamic relationship. If only the show series could do a chapter an episode!

♥Roger and Brianna help Claire Prepare♥

Okay, so A lot of people have a lot of thoughts about how Brianna was cast for the show, and honesty even I was expecting someone redder and taller, but the acting may surprise us in the coming season! But one thing I had a little bit of an issue with is how the show portrayed Brianna and Claire as not being close, like…at all. In the books I felt that there was much more warmth involved in their relationship that wasn’t represented on the show. However, Starz only has an hour an episode to work with, so I’m trying to ignore it, knowing that it’ll be impossible to ignore their true, loving, feelings as the show goes on. So I’m looking forward for Roger and Brianna to grow close as they help Claire prepare for her return to Jamie. I hope it’s just as touching as it was in the book! BTW, just so you know, we also have a lovely Claire dress guide here, so your clothes can be on point, and Sarah’s done a Claire hair tutorial, which is so easy, even I could do it.

♥Meeting Geneva♥

This is going to be tough for all those who love Claire and Jamie. I’m going to be honest, I think Geneva is a grade A asshole. Blackmailing Jamie into sex was a low blow and the man’s life has been tough enough. I know I’ll have a rage stroke when she throws out the “bang me or I’ll scream rape” card. At least Jamie can see some joy in the terrible union by his son William grow for a few years. But seeing as how happy he was knowing Claire was pregnant when she left, It’ll be tough seeing him watch his child from afar. There’s a lot of controversy surrounding this particular part of the series, with the word “rape” being used to describe both sides of the coupling. It’ll be interesting to see how the show addresses it. To cleanse the soul, let’s take a look back in time to when Jamie and Claire were #RelationshipGoals…

♥Baby Jamie♥

Jamie and his interactions with his secret son is going to be bittersweet. Their doings takes up a good chunk of book, and for good reason. We all read, and saw, how into being a father Jamie was when Claire was pregnant with Faith and how important it was for Claire to go back to Frank for the safety of their unborn child. It’s going to be bittersweet to see how young Willie sees a father figure in Jamie and Jamie longs to be close to a child he never thought he’d have, after Claire’s leaving. Their bond in the books might be hard to portray on screen, but Starz has done an awesome job, so far. We know Jamie’s big heart is one of the things we all admire about him, and in care you need to be reminded of the other reasons, take a look at our other list here!

♥The Highlight of the Year♥

I know for a damn fact that I’m not the only person who ugly cried when Claire went through the stones and later learned that Jamie was alive all along. While I understand that she needed to go for her own safety, it’s like she’s still twenty years too late to their reunion. I’m already preparing myself for the Kim Kardashian-like sobs when she finally sees him in the print shop. I’m also dying to see how well Jamie aged. I’m guessing it’s like a fine, beautifully kilted, wine… although he’ll be unkilted for a lot of the season, and not always in the fun way. The fact that we’ll probably have to wait a few episodes for this glorious meeting adds a certain level of delicious suspense. At least it’ll be a smoother journey for Claire, as Roger and Bree help her get the cash and clothes necessary for a successful jaunt through time. Some people are salty that Claire left Brianna in the present to go into the past, saying she’s a bad mom, but Claire did right by her kid and her promise to Jamie, so she deserves to have some Highlander goodness up in her petticoats.

♥The Scorned Second Wife♥

Dis Bitch is right. Ya’ll probably know that I feel Laoghaire is a dirty home wrecking hussy and no one deserves to get lumpy and gross in their old age more than her…well, except for Black Jack Randall… not that he lives long enough for that. Well, anyways, her coming out of the woodwork again to claim Jamie as her rightful husband is something I’m looking forward to. Like, I get how she saw Jamie as the one that got away but, damn girl, have some self respect! I wouldn’t tie myself for a man who was constantly wishing I was someone else, no matter how hot he was. BTW I’m all sour grapes on how Jenny lashes out at Claire and rats to Loaghaire, even thought Claire told her the potato-planting key to Lallybroch’s survival. I hope Loaghaire’s gun-toting dramatics are just as wild on the screen as they are on the page.

♥High Seas Misadventure♥

Poor Jamie can’t catch a break. He, along with Claire and Marsali, go to rescue Ian and he’s stuck vomiting with seasickness while Claire is basically kidnapped by the Porpoise, because the ocean has never been kind to Jamie. Like, universe, give the man a break! All he wants is to live the quiet life and plant some crops and make sweet love to his new found wife, not be held captive and taken towards prison. At least he’s conveniently shipwrecked near Claire. Small victories. I’m curious to see how this will play out since, in the book, their oceanic struggles is a large chunk of action. Thankfully, Starz has brought Mr. Willoughby onto the scene, so poor Jamie will have some relief on the ship. Also, it’s said that the Outlander Starz crew will be using some of the same set used to film their pirate series Black Sails, which I highly recommend to people into high seas adventures, sex, romance, murder, mystery, history, and backstabbing.

♥The Return of Geillis♥

Gonna be real, I’m pumped for the return of Geillis. I know she’s a murderer, adulteress, and all around baddie, but I’m really excited to see her return in all her crazy glory. You have to admire her vicious tenacity and the way she unraveled thousands of years of legends and myths to learn about time travel. Sure, she could have gone around without human sacrifices, but I admire a bitch with flair. I mean, if she had really been killed before having her son, a certain green-eyed man wouldn’t be able to grace us with his presence (lookin’ at you, Roger, you silver-tongued songster)! It’ll be neat to see the witch we love to hate back on the screen.

♥The British Scorch of the Highlands♥

After the failed Jacobite uprising, England took measures to ensure the Scottish would never rise again. They passed the Heritable Jurisdictions Act of 1746 that outlawed the Scottish chief system, hoping that by removing those men from their places of power, the people would be more accepting of full English rule. The Act of Proscription of 1746 was also put into effect, which outlawed all highland dress (see ya later, kilts) in the Dress Act. This took away a large part of the clan identity, which is exactly what the British wanted. If you were caught wearing a kilt after 1746 you could be fined, imprisoned, or even sent to the British colonies for “indentured servitude”, which was just a fancy term for “slavery”. It explains why the kilts of the previous seasons will be lost for a while and not make any sort of comeback for some time. As a history-lover, I’m curious to see how these real life restrictions will come about on the show. Now…let’s have a moment of silence for the glorious kilt.

Sarah’s Thoughts

Now, I am here to help keep Kelsey honest lol. No, I read the books up to what’s been shown on TV to keep the spoilers at bay, so I have not read Voyager yet. My fingers are itching and I can’t wait to start, though. So I get excited about other things…like actors.

As much as I try to avoid spoilers, it is nearly impossible. As a result, I know about Jamie’s other daughter, the “Other Fraser” (Ten points if you get this reference). But what really excited me is the casting! Lauren Lyle and Nell Hudson look so alike its scary!

Perfect casting right? It almost makes you not want to hate Laoghaire…almost.

Okay, we’ll talk about one more kid. Young Ian. I also know who this is, Jenny and Ian’s son but that’s all I know. However, I am a HUGE Jenny fan so I am excited to see the craziness her spawn will likely cause. Plus, he looks like a little Jamie (sorry Ian). It’s alright for a kid to look like his uncle though. In fact, I think it is going to seriously help his future! So, let’s say ‘hello’ to John Bell!

Alright, let’s get into the big one…John Grey. Now, I know he and Jamie are supposed to be friends, but again, that’s all I know. I have heard the rumors that their bromance may be turned into a romance. All I have to say is, where is Jamie going to find the time to do that? Doesn’t he have enough going on with all the needy women in his life? I think it’s all hype to keep people interested and talking about the show while we’re waiting not so patiently for it to start. However, I will say I am terribly upset with the casting of David Berry! Uh! Did we really need another sexy man on the show? Okay, totally joking. He is a nice piece of eye candy and I definitely can’t wait to see his strutting across my BIG screen TV.

I love a man in a suit!

Now let’s here it for Fergus! Everyone’s favorite trouble maker is all grown up and lookin finnnneeeee. I’m happy to see he’s still around and even more excited to see where his character goes from here. The hand thing… yeah, that’s going to be interesting. I almost wish they could pull a Hunger Games and pretend like that bit never happened. But, I don’t think it’s going to take our man too long to get his good hand into plenty of trouble. Let’s hear it for César Domboy!

How about Joe Abernathy? I know he’s a doctor with Claire and he knows about time travel, so that is going to be a whole lot of fun. Mostly because I looked at Wil Johnson’s photos, and he takes a good picture! He has one of those stares that just bores into your soul and leaves you questioning everything in your life!
