Some preparations for last night's working: an incense with poplar buds & yarrow, plus one birch doll. Such dolls are usually used in group rituals but I thought I'd try involving one in my rite. It worked great for visualising the arrival of the spirits. Since I had to work indoors & the Moon wasn't out anyway I used this ensemble as a Moon emblem. I placed it on a table outside of the Round. Again translating from the Grimoire of the Thorn-Blooded Witch, more & more moved & awed by it. This is a portion of the Full Moon rite I’m performing tonight. We bow in humility to the plants that sustain us & that at the same time through their very being connect us to the divine & to other worlds. What a difference with Xtianity where the holy meal is but a morsel fallen off the table, making us swallow our own nothingness & sinfulness, condescension paraded as undeserved grace. I am beyond happy to have found a new home ❤ Blessed Full Moon everyone!

Finally, my long awaited Grimoire of the Thorn-Blooded Witch has arrived, much needed for my Ash Birch & Willow study! Of course I had to open the package before I even got home & I took the opportunity to ask the blessing of this birch, in fact there are some willows here too. I’m so happy with this, I get to do a lot of studying the coming period, what with ABW, the Burning Serpent oracle & also an online Curanderismo course that starts in a few weeks! Anyone looking for a complete European witchcraft system, without any culturally specific influences, this is your book. Can’t wait to dive in properly!

Preparing for tonight’s New Moon ritual. Unfortunately I can’t perform it at a crossroads at this time so indoors will have to do, with some adaptation… It’s the first time I’ll perform this rite, it’s part of the Ash Birch & Willow path I’m studying so I’m excited!
