"Long live the queen" Thorin okensheild x reader [ part 1, how it all started ]
as the princess and heir to the throne of a pretty much wealthy kingdom in middle-earth , you had a pretty interesting life.
Your kingdom wasn't just any kingdom, it was an extraordinary and independent kingdom that had almost zero connections with the rest of middle-earth. Some even believed that your kingdom was just a fairytale. But who cares? Everything was going great for you and your people.
That's until Gandalf showed up.
when he asked your father if he could "have the honor of speaking to the future queen in private", your father was going to say no. atleast before you gave him a look. After all, he might be the most powerful king in middle-earth, but you're still his daughter. His only heir to the throne. Not to mention how scary you look when you glare at him.
Anyways.
"Me, pledging my services? to Thorin okensheild? Like, the one that people talk about?"
Although your land didn't have much connections, the tale of how the dwarven prince of Erebor, Thorin had stood up to azog and won the battle was something that most of your people knew.
Gandalf nodded.
"That's crazy, I would NEVER do that."
You said while looking at Gandalf with disbelief.
Gandalf turned to look at you, and passed you 2 pieces of paper.
You opened the with hesitation. Probably should've thrown them away but you were way too curious.
The first one was a weird, unfamiliar sign.
"What is this?"
"That, my lady, is a sign for you if you change your mind in a week. Look for it in the shire, and you'll find us."
You opened the next paper.
"And a contract?"
You said, rolling your eyes at him. Which wasn't very polite, but you were you after all.
"Don't wait for me, Gandalf. I won't change my mind in a week."
Which was true. It only took you 24 hours to change your mind.
So, a day after Gandalf left, you left a letter to your father, explaining everything. You didn't talk to him about it, he would try to stop you.
You packed your necessary clothes, and your best and lightest weapons as you started riding to shire with your black horse. It was going to be a long way, after all.

Long live the queen part 2
Part one
Y/N POV
“Finally!”
I let out a deep breath as I finally found the door with the mark. I’ve been on the road for… about a week? I just hope that I’m not too late or too early for the meeting that Gandalf mentioned.
I got off my pony and started shaking any dirt from the journey off of my clothes.
As I stood in front of the door, ready to knock on it, the realization of what I’m ACTUALLY doing finally hit me. A journey? To reclaim a dwarven mountain from a goddamn DRAGON? Only a madman would do that. But I’m no madman.
I’m a madwoman.
So, here we go.
I took a deep breath after knocking three times on the door. Loud noises that were coming from the hobbit hole suddenly disappeared, replaced by a long silence.
And that’s when the door opened.
I didn’t hear any footsteps approaching, so the person opening the door most have been next or very close to it.
it was gandalf.
He gave me a small bow as he let me in; and I was shocked at how crowded it was, but I didn’t show it.
Gandalf turned to someone next to him:
“And here is the 16th member I chose for the company”
The silence turned into whispers and the whispers quickly turned into loud voices complaining about a fearie joining them, and a female one at this point.
The person standing next to Gandalf shouted something in… khuzdul, if I remember correctly from the books I had back in the castle, and everyone immediately went quiet.
I turned to look at him for the first time.
He was taller than me, and as a fearie I didn’t expect a dwarf to be shorter than me, even though I was tall for a fearie, he seemed to be also tall for a dwarf.
And when I looked into his eyes, that’s when I got a… strange feeling.
It wasn’t fear, I’m a girl who fights her father on a daily basis and it certainly isn’t the disgust that I held for most men. I couldn’t say it was RESPECT, but there was definitely something about him that made him seem different from the others.
I introduced myself as he stared down at me.
“I am Y/N, and I’m a warrior”
They didn’t need to know that you were the heir to the throne of an ancient kingdom just yet.
-“have you read and signed the contract?”
The dwarf that quieted the others earlier asked.
I quickly pulled out the contract and handed it to him. He looked at my sign and then back at me, and gave me a weird look. An older dwarf with white beard also checked the contract and looked at me, then at the other dwarf who I had a feeling was the leader of this company. It’s weird for me not to be the leader, but I can’t complain.
They nodded at each other and the older dwarf turned to offer me a kind smile:
-“everything seems to be in order. Welcome to the company of Thorin okensheild, miss Y/N”
The other dwarf, Thorin okensheild I guessed, didn’t look as happy as he turned to leave the room:
-“we’re leaving at the first light next morning, be ready and don’t waste any time”

starchild , part 1
It was another sunny day in Rivendell, and it was going great for Evelyn as the leader of Lord Elrond's army.
It's been 3 years since she was chosen as the general of the army, and she couldn't be happier.
When she first came to Rivendell, all she had left from her past life was a name. Evelyn. That's what her dad called her.
Her last memories from her dad was him fighting for his life while telling her to escape.
It's been years, she's 21 now and she was only 6 when the orcs attacked their house; yet she remembered that night as if it was just last night.
Her father gave her a map, as he heard the orcs getting closer:
"Evelyn, I need you to listen to me one last time. You need to get on the road with your pony and DO NOT STOP until you reach Rivendell. When you arrive, ask for Lord Elrond. Trust him just like you trust me, alright? He knows me, and he'll help you."
you knew something was wrong. Even though your father was full of surprises, he had never spoke like this. Like it was your last moments together...
- dad?...
Her father took her into his arms as he put a dagger into her hands, a real one.
- here you go, a real dagger like I promised. You know how to use it. Now, leave. And whatever you see and hear, DO NOT turn back. I love you Evelyn, my starchild.
-dad... when will I see you again?
-you'll see me and your mother whenever you look at the stars.
And that was his last sentence as he made Evelyn leave.
When young Evelyn arrived at Rivendell, Elrond immediately took her under his wing. He trained her to be the most skilled soldier in Rivendell. when she turned 18, she was chosen as the leader of the army. And life was going great, even though her dad wasn't there anymore. He and her mother, were the stars she looked for every night.
Every day went by a normal routine for her, and today wasn't supposed to be an exception, right?
