“Big Rusty” by Thomas Dambo

“For every piece of trash, she eats

she grows so big and thick

So careful not to feed the beast

one day, she might grow sick”

Commissioned by the city of Hainesport (NJ), Big Rusty is made from 100 square meters of rusty metal roof, a plywood attic, different electrical equipment, a concrete wall, and wood. It was the first troll of Way of the Bird King, built in June 2023.

I deeply admire people who can do such incredible things with their hands. I only wish this was closer to me so I could see her more often.

Danish artist Thomas Dambo recently completed this sculpture made from recycled wood pallets, wine barrels, and other found materials, as viewed on January 31, 2025, in Solvang, California. Constructed in the Tower Gallery at the California Nature Art Museum over a 10-day period, this is Dambo's first indoor troll among the more than 150 sculptures he has created in the United States and around the globe.

Ticket stubs I created for Phish's 2-night run in Dayton, OH during their 2023 fall tour. I have been creating these since they stopped offering physical tickets.

The artwork was inspired by the Aullwood Trolls created by recycle artist Thomas Dambo. These sculptures reside minutes away from the venue at the Aullwood Audubon. I also included a reference to Dayton residents the Wright brothers and the bell tower at Carillion Park.
