The Droid Dock on Nebulon-B Escort Frigate Redemption was usually noisy. The thrum of Binary buzzing, chirping and beeping as droids from across the Rebellion traded Intel (or gossip) on outposts and missions.

Today it was eerily quiet as sensors watched a High Republic Era R2 Astro-mech get steadily more frustrated as he tried to charge dock. He slowly began to chatter his frustration as apparently, the Standard Dock wasn't compatible with his (obviously repaired) receiver. His fellow R2 units were deeply impressed at the complexity of his increasingly louder shrieking about Being Too Old To Fuck With Yet ANOTHER Change To The GODDAMN STANDARD UNIVERSAL MY ASS Charging Dock!

None of the units had ever heard such a variety of curses, some of which the Protocol C3 series droid noted in awe, hadn't been in use for close to 50 cycles.

Right as the Blue R2 unit was gearing up for what seemed to be a prolonged screech, the clank of new droid sounded down the hall.

"R2-D2? Is that you? Oh dear, another docking mishap, my my, you'd think an Alderaan Ship would be more accommodating!"

A gold plated Protocol C3 series easily approached the now classified R2-D2, who had subsided in to grumbling beeps at the dock, the concept of change and the Short Sightedness Of Droid Tech In General. All while using Binary designations at least 20 years out of date AND somehow, Binary Translated Tatooine slang?

Sensors clicked and refocused on the grumpy little Astro-mech and the C3 unit as the larger droid began scolding R2-D2 in a similarly complex Binary Expression, although the "Threepio" seemed to use Aldaarian expressions with the Tatooine.

The other Protocol series droid withheld their questions, solely because they desperately did not want to offend such a fascinating fellow protocol droid and he was clearly assisting the R2 unit with something.

"You know Master Luke make you an adapter for this very reason! Simply because Universal post BBY 2 Era Adapters should NOT be standard issue for a frigate dock is not the excuse you think it is! Now! You need to charge! Not lecture! You can complain to Master Luke and Princess Leia after you're at full capacity and can use more of your vocabulary!"

The C-3PO unit locked sensors with the R2. The Dock was completely silent, not a single droid daring to interrupt the standoff.

R2-D2 cheeped tiredly, swapped his standard dock for a clearly custom tooled dock (it matched his paint); then trundled into the docking port to settle into a seemingly much needed charge.

"There now, rest a bit. I'd keep an eye out."

The R2 beeped once in acknowledgement and powered down.

The Dock in concert made a collective sound of relief, then began to excitedly cheep as Protocol Droid series 5-3P4 effusively greeted the C3-PO.

"Welcome to the Redemption! Thank you for your service to the Rebellion and to Princess Leia!"

C3-3PO raised his arms in surprise as he realized all the droids were now focused on him instead of R2.

"Ah! Of course!" He swiveled his arm to rest against his face plate, an oddly human gesture for a droid, "Please let me know if there is anything I can do to assist while we are aboard."

The whole Dock burst into a cacophony of questions at that!

hello! may i ask for a mlqc matchup if possible? ＾＾

to start off: i’m a heterosexual female (she/her). i’m an isfj. my alignment is neutral good. and my house is hufflepuff!

so personality wise… i’m either seen as outgoing and friendly or reserved and quiet; it depends on who’d you ask. for the most part, i’m generally quiet, but i think i’m pretty easy to talk to and i’m actually social even though i may not look it all the time. i enjoy meeting people and being there for them if they need someone to listen to them. i tend to be really sensitive to others (well i guess sensitive in general haha c’:), and i try not to upset them in any way. i just really dislike confrontation and unnecessary drama. however, i’m trying to be better at voicing my real opinion, and being more assertive and confident in myself. but that’s a long process aha. i’ll always doubt myself on some level lol. on a different note, i guess i am an emotionally withdrawn person.. i have a bad habit of bottling up my feelings. i also don’t really like doing things outside my comfort zone. most of the time, i need someone to push me to do something new.

anyway— i think it’s kind of funny that my friends view me as a « mom friend » because while i worry about them excessively, i try not to nag! :”)) i’m generally a positive person— i try to look on the bright side of things always. also.. i’d say i’m really serious and hardworking when it comes to things i care about— tbh, i’m kind of a « try hard » in the sense i put way too much effort in things that don’t necessarily need all that effort. with my close friends, i feel like i can relax and let down my guard.. i feel i can say what i want without being anxious that i said something wrong. sometimes, my form of humor can consist of light hearted teasing and sarcastic remarks… but i really only do that with people i can trust. i also am a fan of making puns! so uh yeah i’m a little dorky in that sense??

some things that i like are rainy weather, cute stationery, laughing / hanging out with friends, c a t s, beautiful scenery, astrology, anime, manga (particularly shoujo), writing, reading, daydreaming, and sometimes drawing!

some things that i don’t like are people who don’t work hard, when people cry (i just don’t know how to help them and feel so bad >< ) and fights/ drama. there’s probably more, but i can’t think of them off the top of my head- sorry!

in my free time, i play sports (basketball being my main sport), read, write, draw (i’m not that good tho c’: ), surf the internet, or watch tv. i really don’t do that much haha. school work or homework takes up a lot of my time. i try to have a plan on how to go about my day- so that i can be somewhat productive!

some random facts/trivia about me is i have a fear of failure and the unknown.. uhm, i don’t do well being put on the spot. i get really nervous around people i like,, so, more often times than not, i make a fool out of myself. oh also! i tend to be really competitive when i play sports, especially if it’s against the boys haha.

i see you & gavin as a very adorable and mellow sort of match.

you both have fairly complimenting personalities, were you are both very caring, reserved, and supportive of those who are close to you.

i find that it would be a very doting & sweet sort of relationship because the both of you would constantly be looking out for one another & making sure you’re taking care of yourself.

you especially need someone to look out for you & gavin is that man, because he knows you have a tendency to sacrifice yourself for others.

not that he has anything against your altruistic nature but he knows you will push yourself too far if someone isn’t there to remind you that you need a rest sometimes too.

it’s very evident that you have a big & loving heart, it’s one of the things he loves most about you, is the way you care so much for everyone & how empathetic you can be even ( you called it sensitive but you’re just blessed to feel emotions ).

another thing he adores is how cutely organized you are & the schedules you have set for yourself to remain as productive as you do.

not to mention how organized your work space is, everything properly displayed & all within reach ( your desk would be much easier to navigate than his ).

while you appear to be a very friendly & outgoing person, you are also very introverted, meaning you really do value the peace & quiet, preferably over the ordeal of socializing with others, and gavin understands this entirely.

gavin would be one of the people who you would grow very close to very easily, he has a very laid-back personality & a calm aura about him that allows you to relax.

you both compliment each other in work as well.

not that you both would have the same job, but gavin can see your dedication and persistence in your work, to the point you might work too hard over little details even.

he is never one to push you out of your comfort zone, not harshly at least.

he understands your boundaries & how somethings make up uncomfortable, especially when you struggle in your self confidence & finding a way to balance your inner & out voice.

gavin is gentle in coaxing you to try something, he asks & if you say no, he leaves if for a while, saying maybe next time and only when you’re ready.

being very close i can see you playfully teasing him a lot.

gavin despite seeming like a stereo-typical bad boy™ you find he is the exact opposite.

he is easily flustered by your playfulness & teasing at times, mostly because you say some of the cuteness and dorkiest things to him that he’s never really sure how to respond.

you two would play sports together & i can’t see it any other way.

it would be an afternoon that you’re out shooting hoops when he stops by and asks if he can join you. you agree of course and this poor boy had no idea what he was getting into.

for someone so mellow and well-tempered gavin is absolutely surprised at the sudden competitiveness from you while playing sports. it certainly catches him by surprise.

dates would be personal & pleasant.

gavin would most certainly take you to your favorite bookstore & a small cafe afterwards just up the street.

really he would do absolutely anything to see you smile, so no matter where you go he’s content as long as he sees your smile.

another date idea ( that was entirely an accident the first time ) would be to settle in with each other during a raining & calm evening to do nothing but watch tv & snuggle.

this would be something gavin would love to do with or without the rainy weather though, especially after tiring shifts at the station.

though gavin, going back on gavin actually being a soft & easily flustered cutie, he would only be truly affectionate when the two of you are alone.
