Also also hopefully this isn’t overstepping or anything but I wanted to let you know that you’re not alone and I really related to your ‘scroll past this’ post :( it’s kind of hard not feeling that way and I do kind of get impostor syndrome too just cause I feel like I can never accomplish anything and I can never make it to people’s expectations of me but honestly I think I just need to be kinder to myself? And you should too! Something I do to remember that I have to be kinder to myself is by imagining my inner monologue being directed to the younger version of myself. I went through a lot when I was a kid and I just know that if I say what I say to myself/about myself to my younger self then it would completely destroy me. And if it would’ve destroyed me then, why wouldn’t it destroy me now? And it’s cause it does. It chips at me, albeit slowly. And then I’ll just absolutely break down one day. But we’re on this earth too short to be hurting and anxious and insecure all the time. When you feel overwhelmed it’s good to just… back away for a bit. Maybe cook, get some ice cream, take a walk in the park, just sit outside and breathe. Ground yourself and remind yourself that although you’re not perfect, no one is. You can always be a happier version of yourself though so just do what feels right at the moment and live in the moment :) I don’t want to downplay your pain at all but I really hope that I could provide at least a smidge of comfort since that’s what I do when I’m really feeling down (esp existential rip) :,)

1. What is your most popular fic?

ooh! so i'm going to base this off of kudos, and right now my most kudosed fic is imagine being loved by me, which is a fic i wrote for good omens! (honorable mention tho to my current steddie magnum opus, hand holding fic my beloved, bc it is getting closer and closer to upstaging this one and taking that #1 spot every day which is absolutely WILD to me!!!!)

4. Do you prefer writing multi-chapter or oneshot fanfictions?

definitely oneshots! oneshots are just so much easier to write for me! i would LOVE to be able to churn out multichaps! but i have a very very bad habit of coming up with a multichap idea and i either a. never make it past the plotting stage or b. start writing it, get a couple chapters in, then lose all motivation and totally abandon it. and the problem with that is, i Will Not post multichaps until i have them entirely finished (because the ONE time i posted a multichap before i finished it i never finished it, so it sits uncompleted, unfinished, abandoned (for now i keep telling myself) on my ao3 account, and that god damn fic HAUNTS ME EVERY SINGLE DAY IT REALLY DOES), so even if i write like half the fic, if i don't finish it it will never see the light of day slkgjd. so yeah, definitely oneshots lol

9. What’s your favorite line(s) or scene(s) that you have written?

oh man, i have so many fics from so long ago too that i'm SURE i'm probably missing some good ones that i just can't remember lol, BUT. from the fics that i can remember lol:

one of my favorite lines from sloe gin fizzy, do it till your dizzy is "The kiss is honey sweet and molasses slow. It starts off a little tentative, a little unsure, just lips slotting together, Steve’s bottom lip fitting perfectly between Eddie’s. But then the pressure changes, increases, and Steve’s mouth falls open, just a little bit, just enough." idk what it is about it, but i just really love the "honey sweet and molasses slow" part of it.

i am also incredibly pleased with this line from that good omens fic i mentioned earlier, imagine being loved by me: "He pinches a nipple. Rolls it between his fingers. Stutters out another hot breath. His hips twitch. Aziraphale’s name sits hot and heavy on the back of his tongue." not to toot my own horn here or anything but toot toot i think it's a pretty damn sexy line so. lkgjsfs. i like what i did with the sentence structure as well lol.

and also favorite scenes! i wrote a fic a couple years ago for stucky, a little more light, that was jewish bucky and he invites steve over to celebrate hanukkah with his family, and that fic is so very special to me, it's so very personal, and my favorite scene that i wrote for it is the one in which the barnes' have steve join them while they light the candles on the menorah and they teach steve the prayers. it's just a lot of family feels and a lot of honoring traditions and a lot of love, a lot a lot of love. it was a very special scene to be able to write, so it holds a very dear place in my heart.

(also just like. every single scene in i want to hold your hand. that fic was just so so so much fun to write, i genuinely love the whole thing with my whole heart so. yeah. every scene kfsjglfs.)

according to my statistics page i have posted a total of 536,079 words on ao3! (and counting!!!)

14. Have you ever co-written a fic?

i suppose not, since technically nothing i've posted has ever been co-written. but that is not for lack of trying lol. i've had a few different friends who have wanted to co-write and we've tried, but it was just one of those things where we both sort of petered out so the fic never got finished.

but like it is totally definitely something i want to do at some point!!! i think co-writing could be so much fun if it's with the right partner and the right idea!!

15. Are there words, phrases, mannerisms or scenes you tend to use a lot?

ABSOLUTELY!! i know i've mentioned it on here before but i did notice that in a lot of my steddie fics i keep using the phrase "bright and buoyant" to describe the laughter (usually eddie's). which, yeah, makes sense, because eddie (and steve too!) deserve to feel light and happy and free to smile and laugh as big and as bright as they want!

i also make it a point to mentioned eddie's dimples in every single fic. usually more than once too lol. (also if it is an eddie pov fic i WILL find a way to mention steve's freckles/moles every single time as well.)

when it comes to mannerisms, i do find that i like to write dialogue that kind of start-stops for characters that are like nervous or unsure. like i end up using a looot of em dashes and ellipses and repeat a lot of words.

also, this is probably more of a stylistic choice, but i find that anaphora is perhaps my favorite literary device lmao. i do a lot of starting sentences the same way to Make A Point.

16. How long is your longest fic?

longest fic is let me know your future plans coming in at a whopping 59,042! this one was written for the stucky au big bang back in 2019!

ooh yes!! love this one!!

okay, i'm going to rec a few because there are several that i have read and have subsequently not stopped thinking about ever at all.

(also i want u to know that if anyone else had asked this question i would absolutely 100% without a doubt be reccing your fics!!!!!!)

first, the summer of '85 series by @toedenandbackagain - there are currently 3 fics in the series and they are each absolutely incredible. it is THEE eddie and s3 scoops ahoy steve fic of all time!!!! the writing is exceptional, the story is fun and entertaining, the tension is delicious, the payoff is even sweeter, the dynamics are just so good. this series is, for real, everything to me!!

next, eddie's spectacular, awkward, very safe, very fun first time by @alligator-writes my beloved. this fic is. literally everything omg. it is a first time fic, with virgin eddie and first time with a guy steve (which is my favorite dynamic ever bc hello!! learning together!! figuring it out together!! being sweet and gentle together!!!) and it is just. the most perfect thing in existence. like, it is everything i could ever want and more out of that concept - it's fun, it's awkward, it's sweet, it's tender, it's just the best thing ever!!

next, transfiguration's gonna come for me at last by @aberfaeth - this one is absolutely stunning. it is a jewish eddie fic, and it owns my whole entire heart!! the dynamics between all of the characters in this fic are just top tier, so many good friendships explored and the bond between steve and eddie in this is just so lovely, and there is just an absolutely beautiful exploration of eddie and religion. this one is very special to me, and i for real cannot recommend it one enough.

finally, i see you (now) by apairofglasses (i am not sure if this author has a tumblr/what it is if they do). but this one!!!! this one!!!! it is a post-s4 in which eddie lives, of course, and he hides out at steve's and steve takes care of him. and it is just the honest to god most tender thing i have ever read. absolutely beautiful and so soft and so gentle and so vulnerable. there is non-sexual intimacy and hair washing and it is just so genuinely stunning. and the author did a fantastic job getting into eddie's headspace for it too. oh it was just such a lovely read. so very emotional.

So I'm not really sure if this has been asked yet but how does the actual plot of RE8 fit into your AU? Is it something you have plans for, like Miranda never kidnaps Rose, sommit like that or nah? Either way I still bloody love all your stuff!

That's a great question and it actually got me thinking on this.

For starters, the events in Double edged scalpel take place quite a bit before the events of the game, around 2010 or so, even earlier. Dani and Anita's "story" happen in a similar timeframe while Laura comes along a couple years later. (I'm not sure if I'll be writing full on fics for them but I will write oneshots and such to expand on their characters/relationships)

Now for the actual game events, the tldr is Miranda isn't an idiot playing stupid games.

In my AU, she has no intention of messing around. She kidnaps Mia, gets in the house (as Mia), waits for a moment when Ethan is distracted and takes Rose. Before anyone manages to catch on or anything. She then takes Rose with her and just keeps her under her careful watch until the time for the ceremony comes. No splitting her up, none of that redundant stuff.

Ethan manages to find his way into the village, but again Miranda is not being a fool and wants him captured and in a damn cell asap to be experimented on later. No Heisenberg's lil death obstacle course, none of that. Ethan just goes to the castle and does some damage thinking Rose is there. The gals, knowing when to pick their battles just tell him that he's wasting his goddamn time and to leave their home so they have time to regroup (nobody dies tho).

Then he makes his way to the Beneviento house and, since Donna deserves to go full fucked up villain, she captures him. She has the power to psychologically destroy someone and that's exactly what she does, rendering him pretty much brain dead, his mouldy body to be studied later.

Also should add in the fact that the cult has a less... "Miranda is purely using us and will get us killed with the first occasion" dynamic. She does want them around and alive. She basically wants to create her own mini empire (for lack of a better word) for her to rule over and the Lords are all part of that. And therefore, Heisenberg for example, is a lot less inclined to betray and kill her. Also also Miranda doesn't just.. straight up has everyone killed. Dunno I feel like it's at least a bit counterproductive killing all your worshippers instead of collecting people from the outside to work as biomass.

Now with Ethan out of the way, back to Miranda, Rose and Mia. Miranda doesn't actually want to use Rose herself as a vessel, but use a tissue sample to make a copy that then can serve as a vessel. It's not out of the goodness of her heart mind you, it's more of a guarantee the if anything goes wrong with the process, the "original" is still there to get more samples from. Mia doesn't want that but she doesn't exactly have a say in this. It does work though and Miranda gets her Eva back yay for her ig. Mia also gets Rose back and Miranda, in an odd act of kindness, promises that if they ever need anything, Mia knows where to find her.

Now, where things get a lil' weird. Should preface this by saying that I'm basing this detail of the AU on my favorite book, Annihilation (from the Southern Reach trilogy). The gist of it is: aliens create an anomalous area enclosed in something akin to a force field where everything alive gets modified on a biological level by the alien organism and it interferes with any technology within.

Now obviously, no aliens here. But we have the Megamycete at the center of it all and Miranda controlling the whole area in which the village (more akin to a small town in my AU) and its surroundings are enclosed. This is how she controls exactly what comes in from outside and what works inside.

And therefore, Chris can't do jack shit. He can't even enter the area let alone blow anything up. Ok moving on.

As stated before, Miranda's offer to Mia still stands, even as she gives her a bitter "fuck you" as she leaves the village with Rose in her arms. However it takes her little to realize that no matter where they go, Rose is basically gonna become a lab rat under supervision 24/7 so she swallows her pride and comes back to Miranda, asking her to let them stay in the village where nobody from te outside can touch them. She obliges, letting her choose any place she'd like to live in and that's how Mia and Rose settle there. (Also the town is a lot more functional here).

Aaand idk maybe Rose and Eva grow up to be friends or something idk I think that'd be cute. They have a whole ass cultish "family" too so that'd make for some interesting shenanigans.

Also, realizing you may want to know more about the maidens: they do partake in anything ceremony related as much as the sisters, complete with matching outfits. By this point in time they are also married and fully part of the Dimitrescu family. Also had gone through the mutation but no spoilers on that. Just going to say that Miranda comes to see them as at the very least good assets to keep around and therefore somewhat important members of the cult.

Twelve Moons and a Fortnight wrap-up Q & A!

(brief note that this post does contain spoilers, so don’t click past the cut unless you’ve finished reading!)

1. Hi Stilton! I love you and TMAAF! The way you write the letters really feels organic and like people writing letters to other people in a time where communication wasn't instantaneous and thats a pet peeve I have with some fics that treat letters like text. I don't know if you've been asked this but what's your inspiration for the letters? Did you just make them up as they are? Did you look at old letters and studied the tone? @iwillbetrash4eva

I made the letters up as they are, but it was essential for me to keep in mind that the characters are all highly educated, and that Lan Wangji, Wei Wuxian, and Nie Huaisang in particular are very accomplished in the arts. Letters written by someone who composes music and poetry in their spare time aren’t going to be the same as emails and text messages written for the sake of raw information transfer, so I made sure to incorporate that into the letters; they’re written on pretty paper, usually in the sender’s best calligraphy, and it takes time to sit down and write them, so there’s an aspect of aesthetic reflection there that we rarely notice in modern communication.

I also felt that the characters would include snapshots of their lives and feelings while writing; this was more important with Wei Wuxian, since he throws himself so deeply into his daily life, but I also had to remember how important the past is to all of the characters and how enmeshed it is with their relevant current events. Ultimately, each letter serves as an extra look into the characters’ state of mind, which is something the narrative might not give us. 

2. What was your favorite scene in TMAAF, and which OC was the most fun to write? @keela1221

My favorite scene was Wei Wuxian’s departure from Lotus Pier in chapter 46, especially the part when everyone chased after him! I planned it several months in advance (sometime last summer, I think?) so finally getting to write it felt amazing.

Surprisingly, my favorite original characters to write (besides the main additions of Xiao-Yu, Yu Zhenhong, and Li Shuai) were the Jiang juniors. They love their Wei-zongzhu so much ;~;

3. What made you think of writing this fic? And would you consider a special epilogue because I don't think 50 chapters were nearly enough for me.❤ @avezevin

I think I just wanted to speculate about what cultivation politics might have been like after Jin Guangyao died, and TMAAF was born! And I most likely will be posting an epilogue, since I realized that the Zhenqing wedding works best as a coda instead of as a fic of its own.

4. what's your research process for tmaaf? the worldbuilding is so detailed!!

I read posts on tradition and culture and use them as sources if the chance ever comes along. A significant portion of the lore was entirely made up, but @light8828 helped me with some of the language, and offered so much guidance on cultivation worldbuilding <3

5. I really like the way you write the dynamic between Wei ying and lan zhan with their kids in all your stories. Xiao-Yu is a very lovable character and his relationship with his parents is something I go back to read many times. What do you use as inspiration when writing his, or any of his siblings, relationship with their parents?

Real life, I guess. Some of my older friends have recently had children, and they’re very good parents. :3

6. Where will you be going with the series? I need to prepare myself for heartbreak if the end is approaching, (its ok if you dont know tho! Idk is an optimistic answer, its just that you seem to have many things plotting away in that brain of yours)

Up next, I’m going to finish all the fics in the series that are still in progress, and then I’m going to write Lan Xichen’s fic, maybe a fic from Wen Qing’s point of view, a fic focusing on a reincarnated Song Lan and Xiao Xingchen, and a fic from Jin Yun’s POV focusing on his relationship with LXC and the latter’s death and ascension. This doesn’t count all the fluffy wangxian oneshots still bubbling on the back burner, so I expect this series to keep me busy well into 2022. *sweats*

7. TMAAF Q&A: when did you decide you were bringing wen qing back? what led you to making her return a result of the soul-summoning array, rather than having her have survived by some other method? @mischief7manager

I decided that Wen Qing would be returning sometime between chapters 12 and 15, since that was when I knew I wanted her to be the one to cure Wei Wuxian. And as much as I liked the idea of Wen Qing surviving, I didn’t want her to be imprisoned for the 16-year interim; it was important that she appear in TMAAF as she was before her death rather than having over a decade of character development off-screen. But she wasn’t a fierce corpse that could just be put to sleep for all that time, hence the soul-summoning.

8. For the Q&A: Stilton, how did you come up with such an adorable perfect little child like Xiao-Yu?? You write him so well it really does seem like it’s a child talking!! @whereisyourcahier​

He’s partly based on a real baby I know. :P It might sound impossible, but he’s even cuter than Xiao-Yu is.

9. Thank you for doing this Q&A! Was Xiao Yu always part of the story? (Ilhim so much!!)

He was! I always wanted Wangxian to experience parenthood together, so Xiao-Yu’s entry was planned long before he actually appeared in the fic.

10. how did you deal with any writers block that came up?

By reading comments!! I have all of you to thank for that <3<3!!!!!!

11. What was the process for plotting each arc of tmaaf? & when did you decide on what the storyline was going to be? Did you know when you started or did you incorporate stuff as you wrote?

I hashed out the whole plot at once sometime last May, and that was when I laid down the rough storyline. The overall plot was finalized by the time chapter 18 went up, though I did add further details as I went along. In particular, the mini-arc of Wei Wuxian investigating the Yangshuo plague was mostly written on the fly.

12. how long have you been planning the wen qing lang xiyan reveal? has it been something set in stone from the start?

I’ve been planning it since last April, though the exact circumstances weren’t clear until around August or September. Originally, Jiang Cheng was going to ask “Lang Xiyan” to marry him after her mourning period was over, only for her to reveal herself as Wen Qing before accepting, but I soon realized that this wouldn’t fit either of their characters. Wen Ning recognizing her was the only way the reveal made sense (both emotionally and logically) so I had to find a reason to bring him to Yunmeng at exactly the right time.

13. I just want to ask two little things (well three). Where we will be able to read the wedding of baby Zizhen and A-Qing? Will there be Chengqing? And with the last question, if it's yes, will you write a one shot, drabble or something like that?? 🥺🥺🥺

I’m going to post a 51st chapter to TMAAF with the Zhenqing wedding as an epilogue, and Jiang Cheng and Wen Qing are married by then! Wen Qing will most likely be getting a fic of her own, focusing on the time between her revival and her engagement to Jiang Cheng.

14. I just finished reading your fic and let me tell you it's one of the best I have ever had the pleasure to read :) For someone who wants to start writing, how did you start the story? Did you wrote everything with a little scheme or you just leave your brain to work in the document?

I wasn’t planning to write fic for MDZS/CQL at all, and then I randomly ended up outlining, drafting, and posting the first chapter of TMAAF within the span of around two hours. When starting a story, I think it works best for me to just let my brain work in the document without worrying too much about how it might turn out--outlines and schemes tend to come later, after I’ve gotten a feel for how the characters act and laid down some dead-basic worldbuilding.

If you’re just starting out, make sure you’re having fun and that everything you write is as self-indulgent as possible! Enjoying the process is the most important thing, worrying about all the specifics can come later. <3

it’s actually a mix of sci-fi and fantasy !! i also like peppering in a little bit of slice of life :] i’ve been writing more non-magical universes lately but god you Need to know the world building of my first book, poison paradise. yes this is my hubris speaking but it’s So interesting bc there’s lore from multiple universes

6. Are you a pantser or a planner?

it’s both actually. i write from the get-go but for projects i take v seriously like julian and koa, i tend to plan a Lot more. honestly julian and koa is very fleshed out, enough for me to start writing, but the plot needs more work and so does a story in the same universe and city and neighbourhood as it, bambi. also im p sure im not writing it bc i suck at long stories, but u didnt hear that

7. One shot or multi chapter?

multi-chapter actually! oneshots do go with my incompetence tho lmao but i like multi-chapters :) they’re so fun and there’s so much room to see the characters grow. most of my original stories which i take seriously are multi-chaptered

8. What is a perfect length chapter in your opinion ?

it depends honestly. i dont mind a book with varying chapter lengths, because character arcs take different time periods to start and complete, and certain scenes should be left short, and also the reader needs a break with short chapters sometimes so their mind can pick up on what’s still happening. anywhere from 500 words to 2-3k words is perfect for me as long as the chapter feels like a good one as it is

im . not sure actually i think it’s lonely? on tumblr i mean and if you count the second part. on wattpad my longest couldve been poison paradise maybe, but it’s unpublished atm bc it needs a character and plot based revamp but like i keep forgetting that lmao

OOO definitely the second part of lonely !! i wrote lonely when i was touch starved and the positive feedback it got was so nice :”)) i did kind of struggle with writing the second part but i struggle with writing requested second parts in general (i like requests okay im just incompetent). im happy w how it turned out tho :]

probably yes and probably angst lmao i love sprinkling in that pain. also idk if this is a theme but probably like . hmm i guess characters noticing little things in the person they’re focusing on/object of affection? like little details i guess. yes.

A while ago I decided to read some fanfiction to pass some time and the more I got into it the more I kept reading more and more and then I found some inspiration to write. Now I’m not publishing anything until it’s finished because I still have ideas that I wanna get done too so I’ll be dealing with stuff one at a time. SENIOR YEAR- Definitely continuing it. I have alot of chapter layouts that Ive done since Ive been gone so I can’t NOT do it. I already know how it’s going to end and everything so I HAVE to finish that story

REVENGE- Definitely continuing it. I also did chapter layouts and I actually finished the chapter layouts it’s just to write it out in a fanfic format. The reason why I haven’t been working on it is because someone left a review and it had me thinking. They said that basically Caroline is winning too much and Klaus is not only older but much more wiser despite her extra powers and darkness and I agree with this person. So I’ll be LIGHTLY rewriting it, to be a bit more OC in regards to Klaus because Caroline can catch him offguard with her wit and darkness but she can’t be so smart and so better than him all the time, he is of course a thousand years old)

SILENCE BY DARKNESS SEQUEL (Yes I did promise I’d be doing a sequel to this oneshot and I already started on chapter layouts but I decided it would be a short story with long chapters because I want this story to be told. I have a HUGE Fan of the Spartacus Series and no matter what I do I’ll always want to do this fic just because of Spartacus and the inspiration it gave me)

Pride & Prejudice- yall know I’m finishing this. Pride and Prejudice is my FAVORITE movie of ALL TIME and I’m not letting this go. I just have one more chapter to finish out tho.

SnowWhite Oneshot- I’ll publish this when I can because I think I finished it, but I’m not all the way sure. But I promised a sequel to it as well. I started chapter layouts for it but I don’t think I’ll be continuing it. But I’ll keep the chapter layouts of it in case I change my mind.

A Vampire Cinderella Story/Maiden- For those who had been reading my stuff since day one you know that my first story EVER was named A Vampire Cinderella Story based loosely on the story of Cinderella. Now it never even made it anywhere close to Cinderella based lol but I’m working on it. I rewrote it heavily. I changed the title to Maiden and for those who had a taste of Maiden before I removed it, SORRY. But I’m working on it! and I want to finish it before publishing. I have a good bit of chapters in but I still wanna wait till its finished.

Always & Forever Sequel- Not doing it. I feel that I best leave that story where it ended. Sorry for making you guys wait tho!

I mentioned a story on my fanfiction page about a story based on an indian serial I’ve watched and while I started it and I will be working on it, it’s not necessarily based on the series, but moreso it’s a story compiled of different ideas from bollywood movies and series into one fanfic. I’ve done like a couple of chapters already but it’ll be one of those short stories with long chapters type of thing but right now I have no inspiration for it and publishing it with no ending and making you guys wait seems cruel so ill keep it till i finish it obviously. It has Klaroline, Kalijah, Kennett, Stebekah, Delena.

I promised a short story/one shot of Caroline being possessed by a greek goddess and I started it and it’s reached like 20,000 words but it’s not finished but I do plan on finishing it. There’s just alot I added in it. Like, if yall know my fanfictions, yall know I like bringing people back from the dead lol.

I planned on doing a short story based on Tyler Perry’s The Have and the HAve Nots but I haven’t started it. Also it’s not really going to be based on that show but more or less it will be drama centric, like the bold and the beautiful and stuff like that. So it might be a one shot, three shot or something.But on a scale of one to a hundred on whether I will be doing it...a solid 50% cause I do wanna do it but TIME

Humanitate Eius Apicem- I will finish it off because I AM doing a sequel and it’s been plotted out majorily so I kinda have to do it cause I can’t plot out that amount of story and NOT doing it. So most likely ill try to end HEA in like two chapters and hopefully do the sequel and because it’s plotted out, hopefully it won’t take long to write because majority of the writing is thinking out the story and plotting it so because ive done that I’m HOPING it would be a breeze to write. so just hope I don’t add any shit and complicate shit lol.

I also have some oneshots that I was working on that I plan on finishing and publishing. Two of them is Kalijah, one is Kalijah based on Being Mary Jane but you know me nothing I say thats based on something is ever really based on something I just took the Being Mary Jane concept and ran with it. I started a time travel piece but ... I don’t think I’ll finish it. I also started a college oneshot and I think ill finish that and I also started a oneshot based on the last season of Charmed where Coup (the cupid who fell for Pheobe) came in and their storyline gave me inspiration and I plan to finish it. I don’t know how it will end but I do plan on finishing it.

Last but certainly not least because this one is the biggie.

An Originals Fanfiction. 

Basically It will be my take on what I think the story should have went. I basically did chapter layouts and plotting for a season 1 and a season 2 already. It will be long chaptered but not much chapters, like 10-12 chapters at most. I want it to be mainly about the Originals and them coming together as a family, dealing with family issues  that they never got to deal with and family relatives that they never got to deal with.

 I won’t be including the family relatives that has been introduced in the Originals series as I have not been watching nor will I ever.

 There will be no Hayley baby, however Hayley will be in it. I wanted to write her out of it but maybe I can write her in a way that people might like her, idk. 

KLAUS AND ELIJAH WILL MOST DEFINITELY NOTTTT BE KILLING THEMSELVES.

 I will not be adding any canonverse stuff from the Originals, well I might but not the strix whatever and those kind of stuff. It will be mainly Originals...featuring Klaroline and other ships.

It would start from Season 5 of TVD and Episode 1 of TO. I’ll keep some stuff canon but after that I’ll go my own way from there.

I'm also a bit shook there's only two chapters left. My brain was fine with three but two??? No. No I don't like that. It's not enough... I'm going to try to write them both next week (my classes start the week after next) and then I think the fic ending will really sink in. But idk, I have two multichapter fic ideas (one of which would be short, like The Archetype and also smut free that I've been plotting for a long time) and I might (*might*) come back with that around the beginning of next semester? Idk it's a bit of a long shot but at the same time I've been writing Loki multichapters since my freshman year (I was a freshman when writing ssh, so sounds like we're the same age) and I like the idea of having some sort of familiarity as I begin my senior year. Yeah I don't want to promise anything but I'd say there's a 20% chance of that happening (the fic not having any smut and being shorter certainly helps the chances of it being written tho). What POV do you prefer and why?

Third person for sure. I tend to have more than one main character in all my novels and I tend to have stories that require a third person point of view rather than anything else.

However, between limited or omni, I kinda like omni a little more, tho it’s HARD AS FUCK to write in

So I tend to stick to limited. I do have a story planned that will use third person omni tho ;3c 

Do you outline or not?

I outline like FUCK. I outline all my oneshots, chapters, and novels. I sometimes will outline scenes if I can’t quite get the flow or pacing correct either. 

Not only that, I actually outline 3 times per draft usually. I have a sticky note outline, a written summary outline, and then I take that summary outline and break it down into the actual chapters. 

And then, when I go back and start writing the second draft, I outline AGAIN to iron out the kinks I found while writing the first draft.

So. tl;dr yes I outline XD 

Do you write characters based off of real people or make them up?

I make them up! I have very few characters based on anyone at all. 

Actually I don’t really think I have ANY characters based on people I know... tho I will take traits, quirks, likes, and dislikes from people I have met. 

Like, for example, in a lot of stories I write, there is at least one Star Trek reference somewhere because my mom loves Star Trek and is a trekkie. So yeah. lol 

Which is easier to write: original fiction or fanfiction?

Fanfiction because I don’t have to care about it.

Also a lot of stuff in fanfiction is done for you. There’s already a world with characters. It’s easier to get feedback. 

And people don’t really have... expectations either. You can be a shitty fucking ass writer and yet have lots of people read your shit and genuinely like it. It’s great like that. 

And I am not putting down fanfiction authors saying that, I used to be a fanfiction author, but let’s ALL be real here: original fiction is a lot harder to write than fanfiction in the majority of cases. 

Do you let people read your rough drafts?

Hell yeah! I used to post my rough drafts online, but not anymore. But I am not opposed to it at all tbh as feedback is how you get your story better. 

How many stories do you work on at one time?

*Glances at my 10 WIPs* too many

Actually novel-wise, I try not to work on more than 3 projects at a time, and even 3 is pushing it. I like writing two novels at once so if I get bored of one I can hop on over to the other. 

And then on the side, I like writing oneshots and stuff for some Instant Gratification so ye 

I don’t count world building as part of.... working on the story. But I also like working on world building when I am not doing oneshots. 

What do you do if you come to a fork in the road (where your story could go one of two different ways)?

Tbh I haven’t really run into this problem TOO much? As usually there isn’t two different ways, but like. 200. I had that issue with Osiris’ Trials (which had a different title once upon a time ago), Love Thy Sacrifice (THAT story has gone through like. 4 ideas now) and lastly Monster Hunters... which I am still struggling with. Oops!

Usually I try and let my brain wander. If I sit down and talk out my issues with someone, they work themselves out. That, or I’ll get an epiphany and figure everything out. Osiris’ Trials just kinda. Expanded. As I talked about it with @xerohn-alighieri. Same thing is Love Thy Sacrifice, except I mainly was just blabbering about it to @skyeofdragons one day and kinda figured everything out more or less 

Monster Hunters..... god who even knows with that one! 

Usually the issues isn’t really in the plot actually tho! Usually its in the world building, which shapes how the plot will run its course. 

Tho... again with Monster Hunters I’m having issues locating a really good and strong plot that works with the characters and themes I wanna explore >.> 

I don’t even know if I answered the question I just rambled. Sorry. Mainly I talk myself through the issues, but I usually don’t have issues with how the plot should go since I tend to get how things should end in my head before I figure out everything else. 

How do you figure out your characters looks, personalities, and speech patterns?

I don’t figure my characters out, my characters figure themselves out, then they beat me up for making them OOC for months on end. 

Idk. I just make characters and then they Do The Thing and welp there they are fully fleshed out amazing. 

A lot of the way I do things isn’t like. Deliberate I think. I don’t really sit down and think “Here is a character. This is their name. This is what they will be like”

its more like. I have a concept of a character. A theme maybe. The design forms in my mind from that concept and theme. Then I start thinking what type of person they would be based on the appearance I suppose? 

This isn’t always the case, mind you. But yeah. Like with Xero... he’s an old man. He must have lived a long life. He has chain-like scars on him... what happened to get those? He wears a lot of rings too. Why? he likes dressing in suits and he talks formal... where did he come from them? I want him to be 3000 years old... okay what was happening 3000 years ago and how would that shape him?

That’s how I kinda work thru things. Characters more or less make themselves in my head. I just have a blueprint. Then they steal that blueprint, rip it to shreds, and just. Be.

... actually I’ve forgotten which fic has the angst ending lol. I’m more into angst with happy ending since I mostly only write about my OTP ((c’mon my otp already suffering in canon, they deserve a happy ending in my fics /stop)).

I’ve only written one this far. It’s about my three otps (I called it my crossover otps) from different series: Banana Fish, Joker Game, and D.Gray-man. So, the semes actually were voiced by Morikawa Toshiyuki and yes, I made three of them meet in some room (idk too why lol, I just wanna see them together and talk about themselves and realize how similar they are XD). But I’ve been thinking about another crossover au for these crossover otps in a more serious fanfic. I can’t wait to write them XD

I.... don’t have any memory about this. But, I think I received a very confusing review back then in FFn.

Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Hmmmmmm I write two kinds of smut: the pwp and the one with a complex plot HAHAHAHAHA XD it’s actually because I was pissed off since many people was “oh, you write smut? eeww. that must be horrible like w*ttp*d piece”. then I was just, “oh yeah? watch me.” then proceed to write 15k words smut with complex and detail plot lol XD But I also write short one like pwp. The last pwp I’ve written didn’t even reach 1k words. It’s Tyki and Lavi having sex in the corner of their classroom (yes, it’s based on Vocaloid song titled “Butterfly on Your Right Shoulder” lol).

Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Yes, I have. But it’s quite a long ago when I’m still active in FFn. The worst part? The one who stole my fic is actually someone I’ve recognized who’s often giving my fic fav + follow. They literally stole my 5k words fic, split it into some chapters, and published in different fandom lol :“)) I still save the screenshot of it. They deleted the fic tho, after my friend left their fic pretending she’s been in the fandom and left a review in the plagiarized fic. I bet they deleted it because they thought nobody knew it was a plagiarized fic, but after they received my friend’s review, they suddenly deleted it.

Have you ever had a fic translated?

I almost said no, but then I remembered about my Lucky pairing fic about Valentine’s Day that I’ve translated from Indonesian to English akdhaidhaidhaidhai lord I’m still shaking whenever I remember that fic. I still want to delete it but still haven’t get a heart to click delete button orzzzzz

Have you ever co-written a fic before?

I’ve tried collaborating with some of my friends in the past. But the piece that ended up successfully was the Katekyou Hitman Reborn! fic about cloning :D ((lol I really like to make a complex fic haha XD))

You don’t want to ask me that, I’m serious. I will give you a long answer like De Grote Postweg. Just, don’t. When I ship something, I ship hard. I’ll post about that ship for 24/7 and will last for years. Just that. But recently I’ve been shipping Lucky Pairing (Tyki x Lavi) from D.Gray-man and still attached to my Amari x OC ship (I call it AmaOC lol)

Hmmmmm. I’m quite good at making dialogues. Many of my friends and readers mention it a lot. And, I think I’m quite good at describing/making allegory (something about abstract things).

OKAY THIS IS GONNA BE MY LAST CONFESSION I SWEAR ADHAIDHIAIDA. I have plenty of satisfying fics actually. 1) there’s gold inside a pile of old dust [D.Gray-man]. Tyki x Lavi. Historian!Lavi, Noble!Tyki, a bit heavy theme since it’s about the history of Portuguese nobles but also inaccurate. I could say it's my proudest work today. I’ve collected general information about Portugal’s history, and changed many aspects before posting it in AO3 :’DD it took me a year to finish that. 15. do you have snacks during game times?

oh absolutely, i wouldn’t make it without them. when i’m playing with my friends over discord it’s usually like a full meal tho

16. do you play online or in person? which do you prefer?

uh both? with my family it’s always in person but with friends it’s usually online since it’s such a hassle to find time to play at all. the few times we’ve played in person it was rad tho i think i probably prefer that

17. what are some house rules your group has?

i can’t think of anything interesting off the top of my head, but it’s probably all mechanical stuff and nothing super interesting. i’m sure if any of our attempted campaigns lasted longer then we’d have some

18. does your party keep any pets?

some!! in my game with my family my little brother’s ranger is getting a pet wolf (we just hit the level where he can get an animal companion and for his 11th birthday this week we’re getting him spirit of the wolf dice) and in a oneshot thing my high elf barbarian reithel had a sort-of pet blue dragon/rat hybrid that was the result of some fucked up experiment. 

AND my half-orc druid atlas had a pet giant lizard-thing that was big enough to be a mount for several people and i love him but it was so long ago i can’t remember his name but as soon as i hear back from the dm of that game i’ll update this

19. do you or your party have any dice superstitions?

idk about my party but i have entirely too many dice sets (but still not enough) and before each session i sort them into their sets and then roll each d20 3-5 times to determine if it’s good or bad for the night

20. how did you get into dnd? how long have you been playing?

my parents are actually both dnd nerds! my dad played when he was in elementary school and got my mom into it when they met in college. i’ve been playing for almost as long as i can remember, i probably started when i was around 6 or 7 so over a decade now!

21. have you ever regretted something your character has done?

my character meira in one of our previous campaigns that sort of.. stopped happening... was given an insanity trait by the dm where she developed a thirst for murder or something? she ended up shooting an important npc that was hiding in a bush or something and he didn’t trust our group enough to give us the info we needed to continue the story. i don’t really regret it as a character choice because it’s what she would have done but i wish it hadn’t had the impact on our campaign that it did. tbh it could have been handled better tho

22. what color was your first dragon?

honestly i don’t remember enough of my first games to even know but i have a vague memory of meeting a bronze dragon i think? it was a metallic dragon at any rate and we didn’t fight it. there was also a golden dragon-adjacent thing in a homebrew setting game that we didn’t actually get around to fighting but it was like. there.

23. do you use premade modules or original campaigns?

that varies a lot actually, when my family plays it’s always a premade module but with friends a lot of the time it’s original campaigns. sometimes tho we have oneshots or shorter adventures we run from premade stuff we found somewhere and that’s fun too!

24. how much planning/preparation do you do for a game?

that also varies a lot based on what kind of game. once on a bus trip from central texas to orlando, florida i ran an impromptu game for a group of friends who had never played and i had very little planning, but sometimes i spend hours sketching out maps or writing concepts for plot and locations

1) What was the first fandom you got involved in?

Oh gosh, definitely Tokyo Mew Mew. I never wrote fanfics for it but I co-owned and then owned an Avidgamers RP site for TMM called MewUSA back in like 2004-2006. Avidgamers was a forum site engine that was pretty damn nice for its time (also FREE, that was a plus) and I spent HOURS creating characters, storylines, and layouts for it. There were TONS of individual in-character boards and I think we may have had up to 100 unique users at one point. The detailed characters/plotlines were BASICALLY fanfiction- I think I did an entire rp with myself between a few of my characters once- and it was a whole lot of fun. Some of the OCs from that site were repurposed into a longrunning rp I have with @liarino on AIM and I am FOREVER grateful that I met them through that site

Fanfic-wise, it was Full Metal Alchemist. I had a horrendous LITERAL self-insert OC fic called ‘Nice of Me to Drop In’ that was based on an RP I did with a different friend. Plot? ‘Fangirl of FMA LITERALLY FALLS INTO HER TELEVISION AND WAKES UP IN THE UNIVERSE AND FALLS IN LOVE WITH ALPHONSE’. The end. I never finished it but holy shitballs it got SO MANY REVIEWS. I’m surprised how many people actually enjoyed it- I did get some criticisms but despite the fact that it was so cringe-worthy that I took it down it still got sooooo much positive feedback. I sometimes wonder if people would still be reading it on ff.net if I hadn’t taken it down the last time I overhauled that account. I still have some Ouran oneshots on there that I wrote TEN FUCKING YEARS AGO that still get reviews. Dayum. 

3) What is the best fandom you’ve ever been involved in?

I have to say it’s a tie between the Tokyo Mew Mew fandom circa 2003-2006 and the Ouran fandom from about 2006-2008. My experience with them was limited to RP boards but I had the MOST FUN running MewUSA and a long-running Gaia RP ‘Hosting the Hosts’ because of the warm response to the concepts. The TMM fandom especially was super creative even back in the day- there were so many fan mew mews because the formula was so easy and that was one series that I didn’t mind OCs because the concept was easily applied. In-universe, the creator could have easily made more Mew Mews. So the possibilities were endless. That’s also the fandom I learned the majority of my writing skills from, even if I did get called out a couple times for shitty RPing. I got better and I was so sad when the engine finally kicked the bucket. Aside from the RP sites the TMM fandom had sooooo many fansites dedicated to the show- my other favorite being Neko Tokyo. I think that site might still be up… 

Ouran was limited to that RP I ran but damn I never had one so fun. That group of writers was hysterical and I actually met one of them in person because by sheer coincidence she lived near me. She moved soon after we figured it out but she came back for a convention and we hung out all weekend. Unfortunately I don’t remember her name and I lost her phone number T_T I wonder where she is sometimes. I wonder where a lot of my fan friends from back then are. The problem with early 2000s internet.

Tho I think Boueibu will be my new modern fave fandom.

6) List your OTP from each fandom you’ve been involved in.

 Ohhhh dear. I’ll keep it to ones that I actually ship characters in because a lot of my early fandoms were MYSELF AS AN OC X HOT MALE CHARACTER. OTL. I was a weeb. Most of these are fandoms I’ve rped in rather than written fanfiction for, however.

Tokyo Mew Mew- PuddingxTart. I like to read IchigoxKisshu fanfics sometimes but that ship is highly problematic looking back on it lol

Code Lyoko - THROWBACK. JeremiexAelita. Adorable.

Ouran HSHC - I’m fond of HunnyxHaruhi (as evidenced by my mostly abandoned ff.net account) but basically AnyonexHaruhi is super cute. I think I read a fic once where Haruhi was in a relationship with ALL of the guys and it was actually super interesting. I don’t think I can find it again, tho.

Harry Potter - Drarry.

Walking Dead - CarolxDaryl FTW. and Richonne. I’ve toyed with the idea of writing fanfics for WD but never quite get up to it.

Mass Effect - Shakarian. Fuck yes. Fun fact I have an unfinished smutfic on the mass effect kinkmeme livejournal that I will EVENTUALLY FINISH ONE DAY AND PUBLISH UNDER MY NAME buuuut for now it will remain an anonymous abandoned fic.

17)  Who was your first OTP and are they still your favourite?

Since Boueibu is my current fandom- I immediately was drawn to Enatsu since s1 had a relatively large focus on them but I’ve kind of fallen out of actively shipping them. I like them as a couple and I think they’re def boyfriends material but they’re definitely a comfortable ship. Their personalities are just… drama-free, so their relationship to me just seems like a quiet background relationship. IoRyuu is a little more volatile and I really like ships where there is a lot of between-the-lines interpretation and potential for conflict. Also I just really like the Beppus

21) What was the first fanfic you ever wrote?

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. The aformentioned ‘Nice of Me to Drop In’ FMA OC Mary Sue Self insert fic. Definitely the first one I ever published on the interwebs. Although I think TECHNICALLY my very first one was a Pokemon story that I was writing for a little kid neighbor of mine back when I was like… 11. I think I had just gotten a computer in my room and I remember typing it up and drawing some cover art for it… it was basically an expanded version of the episode where Meowth and Pikachu were handcuffed together or something… except there were more Pokemon involved and ALL of the characters were friends. Like Brock and Tracey were both with Ash and Misty and all of the Team Rocket people were friends for some reason. Idk I was a weird child.

Ohhh maybe a tie for the FMA fic was a Code Lyoko one I wrote around the same time called ‘Desert Rose’. I can’t remember now which was published first because I deleted them all. Another Mary Sue OC fic but I actually am still kind of proud of how I expanded the Lyoko universe in my head. I came up with new areas to Lyoko and like a central region and how they all connected. Nevermind the fact that the girl with a CAT THAT COULD OPERATE THE COMPUTER was the main character and obviously I shipped her with Odd because YumiUlrich and JeremieAeilita were OTPs. It was weird.

25) What’s your most popular fanfic?

If the story was still up it might have been ‘Nice of Me to Drop In’ because that fic still haunts me. Buuut it’s either ‘Naptime’ or ‘Desire’, one of my two Hunny x Haruhi fics from my Ouran days that I left up on ff.net for posterity. I have no desire to go read the cringe and find out which one has more hits but I bet it’s the G-rated ‘Naptime’ cuz ‘Desire’ is a) the first M rated Hunny x Haruhi fic on ff.net EVER and b) really really bad porn written by like, 16-year-old me. Oops. It’s a smidgen OOC on the part of Haruhi if I remember right buuut I actually still stand by the idea that Hunny is not as childlike as he seems.

Oh dear maybe that’s why I like Yumoto so much. Similar character type. OTL

27) What do you hate more: Coming up with titles or writing summaries?

I feel like I’m horrendous at both but lately it’s titles that are giving me trouble. 2 of the 3 Boueibu fics I’ve written had different working titles that got changed the second the story went up to be published. I’m having a brain fart and can’t remember them but both ‘All the Pretty Little Horses’ and ‘Completely’ were titled something really stupid. And your giftfic was ‘?’ until I decided on the central theme lol.

36) What’s your favourite genre to write?

I don’t like reading romance novels but I love writing shippy stuff. Tension, build….smut

40)  What do you struggle the most with in your writing?

Pacing in longer works, definitely. Also just… keeping up with it. I am a horrible procrastinator and if I don’t actually have a deadline with external consequences then I never get anything done. I can’t set my own deadlines because I can always move them. I can’t get my family or friends to set them for me because I know they’ll forgive me if I fail (how horrible lol). I have tons upon tons of unfinished fics from fandoms past sitting somewhere in the depths of my word documents folder and about as many original short stories. I have so many ideas but because I get easily distracted and also because I am now working full time and suffer from typical adult exhaustion I can only put a fraction of them on paper. 

My inner critic is also a fucking bitch. I can’t get her to shut her face long enough to write a sentence sometimes. Again, I have to have a deadline looming before I can put her on mute most times. If I have infinite time, she doesn’t shut up and makes me rewrite a sentence 100 times because it sounds stupid.

46) If someone was to read one of your fanfics, which fic would you recommend to them and why?

I’m most proud of ‘Completely’ at the moment- I really like how I pulled off Ryuu’s voice and it’s most definitely a scene I wanted to see written… so I’m happy that I was able to provide that scene

50) How did you get into reading and/or writing fanfiction?

It was basically an extention of RPing for the writing portion of it- ‘Nice of Me to Drop In’ was basically a cleaned up RP and when it wasn’t rping it was fan gratification for the other early fics I did. As a kid I used to (and still sometimes do) make up stories in my head when I was about to go to sleep, and a lot of them were episodes of my favorite shows that I wanted to see. So I’d put some of them on paper. And then it moved into the ~romance~ category; I was a hopeless romantic as a teenager and like a lot of teenage girls I was kind of horny so fanfiction was a way to explore my sexuality in the comfort of my own head, basically. I still like me a good smutfic and bonus points if it’s romantic AND smutty. My bf can definitely tell when I’ve been reading something naughty….

51) Rant or Gush about one thing you love or hate in the world of fanfiction! Go!

Okay, Imma do both! And I have 2 things to rant about because I can’t shut up.

Rant: This is more of a thing that I hate about MYSELF reading fanfics, but I hate that I get turned off of fics so quickly because of writing style. When I can push past beginners writing mistakes or mediocre quality writing I can sometimes find gem fics with plots/characterizations I find adorable, but more often than not I click out of fics after just a few sentences because I can’t stand poor writing. And I feel so elitist about it! Fanfics are free, fan-generated content. A lot of fanfics are written by kids or beginner writers. I have to keep reminding myself that not every fanfic author has gone to school for writing. They may not know the conventions of literature. They may not realize that they’re head-hopping in the middle of paragraphs. They may not know the proper way to punctuate dialogue (and I DIDN’T EVEN KNOW until grad school!!!!). If I let mistakes get in the way of content I may miss out on an up and coming writer. And lord knows I was horrendous when I first started. Everyone starts somewhere. I hate that it takes me so long to get out of teacher/writing student mode and truck through some writing that may not technically be the best but their heart is in the right place. 

Rant2: I don’t like how isolated fanfiction can feel sometimes. It seems like people don’t comment on fics as much as they used to, and I see these posts going around on tumblr about how authors LOOOOOVE comments and want more of them but then comments just… don’t appear. It’s not so hard to post one thing you really liked about the story, and even one thing you didn’t like. Comments help authors grow.I also don’t like how it’s so hard to find a beta reader or three to bounce ideas off of and proofread your work.

Gush: I love communities. I love the events fanfic authors put together. I love how when communities get tight-knit how everyone builds each other up and gives one another ideas. I just love fanfiction in general, really
