This is the new date night. It's cuter, cuddlier, and comes with a carseat. So forget what heard, three's company too. One thing that Paul and I are adamant about is fully including our child in our lives. We make space for them in all that we do because we believe that the best education is experience. Last weekend we went to see @iamroberttownsend in Berkeley (shame on you if you missed it but he will be back in February so get tickets). Anywho, when we arrived at the venue, the manager tried to turn us away saying that a baby would be a distraction. One of these days we're going to talk about this discrimination against parents. A lot of y'all see children as inconvenient and it's not cute. I informed the staff that this wasn't our first outing and that not only would our baby sleep through much of the performance but that if they did become fussy, we're quite capable of stepping out to calm them. For those wondering, we have folks waiting in line to babysit but we truly enjoy going out as a unit. We want to have as much time as possible with our baby while they're still a baby, and we don't want to be confined to our home and the playground. The manager eventually gave up as I clearly wasn't backing down and as I suspected, our little didn't make one peep. And you can see from this photo (which is trash btw) that Mr. Townsend was very happy we stayed. Let's do a better job at making spaces more family friendly in the new year.
