He does not remember getting drunk. He also does not remember his night terrors physically manifesting in the waking world under these circumstances- His hands are still, his breath blessedly steady. Zephirin is double-checking these facts because there should be no other reason as to why he would be facing a man who looks perfectly identical to himself in broad daylight. Other thoughts flicker through, each more nonsensical than the rest- A spectre from his past, present, future, come to haunt him like that one story of Starlight? Divine judgement? Secret evil twin? Or is he the evil one? If only he knew.

As it stands, he does not, so he finds no other recourse but to stare, look him- himself?- up and down, and ask:

“Do I know you?”

Well- He could have at least tried to find a better way to start a conversation with himself, at any rate.

🌌- A time they got to admire the beauty of nature

The Azim Steppe, wild, savage, born of burning fury, of passion, and belief. The land here was strange and vast, encompassing many varying forms. Desert and cliffs lay to the west, temperate -if barren- plains to the south and east, and jutting mountains surrounding all.

Charibert sighs, turning his gaze to the Heavens and regarding her blazing stars. The warmth of the day sun was retreating and a chill setting in. It soothed the mind and soul.

It's strange, he thinks, to feel relatively at peace in this savage land, cradled by brush and stone. His former self would have balked at the thought. However, somehow as he gazes over the largely uncultivated land and the distant tents that dotted the land, he realizes this feels more natural than the bitter memories of his homeland.

 “Ser Zephirin. It seems...you have more admirers by the hour.” he carts in baskets of goods and flowers and letters all sent to Zephirin. While not as handsome as say, another knight, he does cut a dashing figure...

“I’m supposed to believe this was an accident?”

Emmanellain looked up to see Zephirin standing there as he and several others were covered in quite a bit of snow. Though he got to his feet, he had nearly slipped backwards once more, due to the snow under him. 

“Well, we were trying to do a group training session, then it turned into a large snowball fight suddenly. I am not sure who had started it.” he explained as he brushed the snow out of his hair.

I bet you thought I forgot about this– or thought I was ignoring you. I promise you, that is the furthest from the truth. I let this sit in my inbox, let myself really stew on what I wanted to say. I know I had a few missed opportunities but now that the ask meme is long since forgotten, I have more than an ample enough excuse to respond to this openly. 

There’s no need for anything anonymous here, you’re one of my best friends- someone very near & dear to my heart. When I said I love you so many times to you, I really meant it. 

& I want you to know that I miss you. I miss you a lot. I still talk about you, I still think about you. 

I wish we had met under better circumstances, though. I wish you didn’t have to see me at my worst. I wish I could’ve been a better person for you, & I wish you didn’t have to see me as my whole world fell apart into a million tiny, terrible shards. Even so, you stuck by me through it all– you were my support when I didn’t believe I had any. You tried to be the voice of reason, but I confess: I was too far gone after a point. Nothing was bringing me back so easily. 

You were the person I looked forward to coming online to everyday. I didn’t care about anyone else as much, as far as writing goes– & outside of writing? You were my best friend. 

I’m sorry that I needed time away. I’m sorry that I needed the chance to find myself. It was a very, very isolating experience, despite how things my seem– but not the bad kind. 

& in all of that time, I had the chance to think. I had the chance to find myself, to ground myself. I won’t lie & say I’m cured. I won’t lie & say I am without my problems, but I will say this:

I want to start again. 

I miss you. I miss coming home to you every day, confiding in you with everything. I miss our plots, I miss our writing. I miss your company. I miss our skype calls while I was cooking. I miss your friendship.

& I still love you. You are still very dear to me, & you always will be. 

So, I hope you see this. I hope we can give this another chance. I would love that, more than anything.

i have indeed been broken and fixed several times in this series. don’t even talk to me about the end of last summer. i pretend only happy things were happening and suddenly it was fall. no crushing disappointment or sadness. sawamura had the yips but it was from….. practicing! yes, he hit someone in practice and felt horrible. nothing about feeling like he lost the game for his team excuse me i have no idea of what you speak

Emmanellain looked at the knight and sighed. 

“That is never wise to try and reason that this was a very bright idea.” the young lord replied as he brushed off the snow from his clothes. “I thought we could find another way of flying with such a contraption, but twould seem that it is a failure.”

“This smells so good.. What exactly is that?”

"This dish is called Sheppard's Pie, its of Hyuran origin if I'm not mistaken. Whoever thought to marry meat and vegetables with sumptuous gravy and top it with mashed popoto and cheese is a saint in my book." He teases with a warm smile.

"Would you care for some, Ser? I wouldn't mind treating a comrade to a warm meal."

The mage looks up from his half-empty drink to offer his former commander a small smile. "I suppose I'm as well as one might expect given the situation."

He lifts the cup and stares into the liquid for a moment with a lost look on his face. "For all it's worth, I've nearly reclaimed all of my lost strength. Though it avails me naught." He takes another drink and washes it down with a weary sigh.

"T'would seem that most whom I'd use this power to protect have outpaced me by malms. I'm still just as far from my goal despite my recovery..." He trails off, sinking back into his own thoughts.

...okay but legit Kuramochi may be as fast as a cheetah but he laughs like a hyena (amaze) and I just have so much love for him, also I have so many feels for Kura and Ryou. Also Kawakami needs someone because he is the most precious cutie. Also thanks for answering about what you think of the new first years~ I have to admit you're entirely right about when the other first-string was introduced we barely knew anything about em... also yes 2nd hand emarassment for Sawamura lol

kuramochi is everything to me. he’s somehow a rough-and-tumble guy while also being so pure in his intentions and i want him to be cherished while also being teased for the rest of his life (specifically by ryousuke)

kawakami had come so far in terms of mental stability and i’m so proud of him. honestly i’m half expecting him to come out with the number 1 when they give out the numbers just because it’s honorary and he’s a 3rd year. either way i want him to have a really showing moment when the summer comes around to show his support for the underclassmen or show them up in a crucial moment. i want him to show some Clear Development in any case. i believe in him!
