PISCINES PRIVEES
Symbole d’opulence ou défis architectural : la piscine privée attire et fascine. Les plus belles piscines ont récemment été exposées à la Villa Noailles, l’occasion de revenir sur les plus remarquables d’entre elles.
La visite de la Villa Noailles à l’adolescence fût sans conteste ma première claque architecturale. Construite dans le Var par le génial Robert Mallet-Stevens en 1929 , les lignes de la villa faisait écho à toutes les références chères à mon coeur: architecturales d’abord (Art Déco, Bahaus...) et cinématographiques (comment ne pas penser à la photographie des films de Stanley Kubrick en arpentant les couloirs de la maison!)
Malgré la proximité de la Méditerranée R. Mallet Stevens eut l’idée d’y construire un superbe bassin, faisant de la villa la première demeure française à disposer d’une piscine couverte.
La piscine devient alors la pierre angulaire des maisons de luxe. Certains architectes la placent au centre de leur construction, à l’instar de la réalisation de Pezo von Ellrichshausen en Espagne : la piscine occupe alors le centre de la maison, ou la recherche de la fraîcheur et de l’ombre se fait nécessaire.

Aux piscines au luxe minimaliste succèdent celles de l’opulence; qui semble atteindre son paroxysme dans le délire hollywoodien de Julia Morgan réalisé pour M Hearst en Californie.

La “Maison main” imaginée sur la colline d’Hollywood par l’architecte Andreas Angelidakis témoigne également de l’extravagance du milieu. Le réservoir qu’incarne la piscine fait coexister deux espaces distincts, incarnant la paranoïa et la bipolarité de certaines célébrités. D’une part, la cave, creusée dans la roche, permet de vivre caché, de se retrancher des paparazzis. D’autre part, la maison de verre posée sur la main permet de s’exposer au monde, allégorie non dissimulée des réseaux sociaux.

La vague de constructions qui envahit Palm SPring au milieu du XXe siècle encourage la réalisation de projets dont la modernité est encore très appréciée aujourd’hui.
La maison d’Albert Frey pour Raymond Loewy, 1946, l’archétype de la maison californienne à l’orée des années 50, ouverte sur le désert, la montagne, et l’indispensable piscine.
Plus proche de nous, la pièce d’eau de la Villa dall’Ava, construite sur les hauteurs de Saint Cloud fait entrer ce minimalisme dans l’ère contemporaine

Certaines réalisations de piscines domestiques se feront plus radicales. C’est le le cas de la vertigineuse piscine construite sur une poutre en hauteur pour la Casa HEMEROSCOPIUM. Une maison de béton, de verre et d’eau.

Pour d’autres, la piscine doit être construite en harmonie avec son environnement. L’architecte Luis Barragan permet ainsi à ses piscines de refléter la lumière du ciel, soleil, les teintes des murs multicolores, et la végétation. Les piscines, très graphiques, sont pensées comme des tableaux.

“Enough Keith!” Lance yelled. “I don’t understand you! Every time I think we’re doing fine in this relationship, or whatever this is between us, you turn around saying that I will never love you! Guess what, maybe I never will!”
Furiously ignoring the tears threatening to spill out, Keith launched himself forward at Lance, arm out. “I don’t think you get it Lance! Fuck you! Maybe I say those things because no one has ever loved me before! I have the right to be worried! All those foster families, even my mom didn’t love me! And now look at me! I’m Galra, Lance! I’m a monster! So yeah, fuck you. You’re so annoying! Why can’t you get it!”
Lance snatched Keith’s fist and pushed it away. “I hate you,” he growled. “I don’t want to see you, go away, okay? Just… leave me alone. Urgh!”
Lance remembers leaving Keith alone after that. And he could never forget the words Keith had uttered under his breath as he retreated. “I wish I could hate you too…”
Or, Keith needs help and love.
