DEPENDABLE - adventures with tuk!..gone wrong

cw // blood?? tuk crying cause she hurt her sister :(

the sun rose upon the horizon bringing in a new day. ney’ite rolled over on side to find her younger sister, tuk , wide eyed and looking at her sister with wonder in her eyes. today was the day ney’ite promised to take tuk on another adventure, this time, further into the forest. “tuk..go back to sleep, i told you later hm?” ney’ite pushed herself up and laid her little sister back down, getting up and grabbing her bow and arrow, it was her turn to hunt AGAIN. ney’ite rolled her eyes before walking out into the bright sunlight, her yellow orbs glistening in the light. with a sigh ney’ite made her way down to the sea, successfully avoiding the sharp branches of the trees and bushes. 

“ite think fast!” neteyam threw an orange at his sister, frowning and letting out a quick “awh man!” when she caught it. “teyam, you do this every morning. got anymore tricks up your sleeve?” she flashed a grin before finishing up her breakfast, tuk waiting behind her like an excited puppy. “going somewhere?” a deep voice called from beside her. it was dad. “oh hey dad, i’m taking tuk out to teach her how to shoot a bow.” jake raised an eyebrow before shaking his head “absolutely not” ney’ite felt a pang of dissatisfaction. he always said no when it came to tuk. “daddy pleaseeeeeeee i promise i’ll be good right ite!?” tuk turned around to face her sister who gave a quick nod. “we will be fine. swear to eywa” ney’ite smiled at her father. with a sigh jake shooed them off “be safe. i’ll be there to come and get you all if you’re not back by eclipse.” tuk grabbed her sisters hand and pulled her outside, beginning their journey.

“ney’! do you think i’m gonna hit a fish my first try?” tuk said, holding her sisters hand tightly. “i’m not sure tuk, if you do i’ll do something special for you” ney’ite smiled and pointed to a pond. “there’s fish there, wanna go try ?” tuk eagerly took the bow and arrow from her sister and got into the position she was taught. tuk had just pulled the bow back when she heard a twig snap. just then tuk stood up straight and let go of the bow by accident, the bow bouncing from the tree and landing in another target, ney’ites shoulder. “fuck!” ney’ite let out, stumbling away from tuk , gripping onto her bleeding shoulder, it was lodged in there and hurt like hell. “ite im sorry!!” tuk yelled, the 8 year old immediately busting into tears. ney’ite felt herself getting dizzy but quickly stumbled over to her sister . “hey h-hey it’s okay it was an accident okay? i’m not mad.” she comforted the little girl before grabbing the bows and her arrow and most importantly, tuks hand.  

the pair lugged back to their home before lo’ak let out an “oh shit! i’ll go get mom and dad!” he ran past the pair while ney’ite turned to her little sister “tuk turn around” she turned the little girl around before pulling the bow out, slowly and agonizingly. ney’ite let out a blood curdling scream before tossing the bow on the ground. tuks crying only got louder as their parents burst into their home. neytiri shouting for kiri as jake quickly rushed over to his eldest while lo’ak grabbed tuk, attempting to comfort her. “hey dad..” ney’ite let out a tired laugh “at least it wasn’t tuk right?” she said before passing out. 

ney’ite shot up in a cold sweat and quickly hissed before looking at her shoulder. kiri must’ve patched her up. bless her heart. “you’re awake!” tuk jumped on her sister and hugged her. “i’m sooooo so soooo sorry” tuk nuzzled her sister before smiling up at her “oh tuk it’s okay, i’m not mad” ney’ite smiled before seeing her mom walk over to her. “hi ma” “ney’ite..how are you feeling?” she got down to her level and felt her forehead “im okay ma, just glad to be alive-“ “yeah cause if you would’ve died i would’ve brought you back to kill you again!” kiri came into view with a smile on her face “ahh im so scared” the family let out a big laugh and thanked eywa that ney’ite was safe and well.
