Being able to swim 🏊🏻‍♀️ again after four years of not being able to, of thinking I’d never be able to again, brings me immeasurable joy ☀️ My body feels different in the water. What I constantly question, what I’m constantly unsure of, what I don’t ever really trust whilst on land... in the water I completely trust my body. In the water, I am strong, and graceful, and powerful, and free. As someone with a degenerative condition I am constantly aware that my body no longer does what it could, and that it will continue to do less... but right now, for however long this tube free period lasts... well, I’m just going to make the most of it and enjoy my mobility and freedom. Yesterday I made the absolute most of what my body was capable of and took a yoga 🧘‍♀️ class AND then went swimming 🏊🏻‍♀️!!
