Doki Doki Literature Club Girls x Reader
summary: you spend the day at the amusement park with the rest of the Literature Club! (it's recommended to read these together in order because they are connected, but if you prefer then you can read just whichever one you want to. Reader is intended to be female.)

Sayori
It was a gorgeous Saturday morning in town. The sun was shining high overhead in the pale blue sky, but the fluffy white clouds drifting by here and there were enough to ensure that it wasn't too hot. There also happened to be a nice, soothing breeze out, you note to yourself as you gaze out your open window to the neighborhood. A perfectly lovely day.
Well. That was enough of that, you muse to yourself as you slide your window closed again and pull the curtains in front of it to avoid any of the cheery sunshine washing into your room- it created an awful glare off of your computer screen which made it hard to watch your anime.
Content with your decision to stay inside today and catch up on your favorite shows, you walk over to sit down at your desk and turn on your computer. That's as far as you get before the doorbell rings, however.
You ignore it for now, assuming someone else in the house will go answer it. Then you suppress a groan of frustration when you recall that you're home alone for the better part of the day, a big reason why you had set the date aside to stay indoors and enjoy some peace, quiet, relaxation, and anime.
The doorbell rings again and again, much more insistent now; it almost could be playing a song of some kind. "I'm coming!" You call as if the visitor can hear you, grudgingly hopping up and hurrying downstairs. The doorbell just keeps ringing, and you don't even check the peephole to see who it is before you open up because the sound is really starting to grate on your nerves and you just need it to stop as soon as possible.
Your neighbor and somewhat-best-friend Sayori is standing there, and she looks a little shocked to see you, despite this being your house. She slowly presses the doorbell one last time, and you resist the urge to sigh heavily.
"Hi, Sayori. What's up?" You question. It's been a minute since you two have visited outside of the Literature Club, so you're making an effort not to act as annoyed as you feel for being so rudely disrupted. She could have at least texted a message saying she was going to be dropping by- then again, this was Sayori. Odds were, she had been walking by heading to the store or something and spotted your home, causing her to make the impulsive decision to bug you.
Her eyes brighten and a wide smile replaces her startled expression. "Hey, Y/N! It's Saturday!"
You stare at her for a moment. "Uhm...yeah, it is." You aren't entirely sure what she's expecting from you- maybe an invitation to come inside? Sayori's sort of a pain to watch movies or shows with, though. She's such a chatterbox and can't really focus on one thing for long at all, so whenever she does tune back in, she's got a million dumb questions that she'd know the answer to if only she'd bothered to pay attention. Nonetheless, you offer, "Did you wanna hang out? I was about to watch some anime, and you can join me, if you'd like."
Your words don't seem to come as any shock to Sayori, and she shakes her head firmly. "Y/N! I figured you were shutting yourself up in here. It's seriously a nice day, let's get out and have some fun!"
So much for compromising! And you'd even been trying to be nice, sheesh. "But I-" You frowned, trying to come up with an excuse for why you couldn't go out today, eventually settling on the truth since it was easiest. "I was just looking forward to some downtime, maybe next time though, okay?"
Instantly Sayori is pouting, acting like the exact same little kid you first met years ago rather than the almost-adult she was. "We've had this talk before, I don't want you becoming a total NEET! You can watch your shows tomorrow, but we really should enjoy this day, I bet it's gonna rain tomorrow! I mean, the rain is fun too, but-"
You're visibly defeated. "Okay, okay, lemme just grab some money. What'd you have in mind?"
Instead of calming down now that she's gotten her way, Sayori gives an excited little bounce, clapping her hands together. "Thanks, Y/N!" She grins at you, radiating warmth and energy. "I was thinking the amusement park!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The amusement park was in town for another few days, and you had yet to go to it, but you doubted you were missing out on much. It was crowded with people, as expected, and you recognized a lot of other people from your school even in their casual clothes. It made you absently wonder if any of the other girls in the Literature Club were here today...
"Hey, did you hear me?"
Sayori's voice shakes you out of your thoughts, and you look over at her. "Oh, sorry. What'd you say?"
She doesn't seem upset in the slightest. "I said, we have to go on the roller coaster!" She points excitedly across the park where you can see the top of the coaster. A lot of screams and a long line are in that direction, and you do your best not to look nervous.
"R-Roller coaster? Isn't there anything else you want to do first?" Trust Sayori to immediately pick the biggest attraction in the place. You're a tad surprised she isn't already hungry, to be honest, though you two did just enter the park.
"Coaster first!" Insists your best friend, taking your hand and beginning to drag you off towards the ride in spite of your clear hesitance. "And then probably food! I'd hate to get sick, you know?"
You can't help but smile. It was likely the most responsible thing you'd ever heard Sayori say, and one which you were grateful for considering you two would obviously be sitting next to each other. It helps you to relax a little bit too, but as you join the line with her, you can feel your anxiety starting to mount yet again the closer and closer you get.
Sayori is chattering away, but you're trying to block her out because she's babbling about all sorts of things. You wonder suddenly if she's trying to distract you...but quickly brush that assumption away. It would be nice, but Sayori just tended to talk a lot all the time, this wasn't new.
After what feels like much too short of a time, it's your turn to ride the roller coaster. Fear grips you, much as you don't want to admit it. You shoot a panicked glance at Sayori, who was humming cheerfully to herself. She meets your gaze, and her hum falters, tapering off. She gives you a reassuring and oddly quiet smile, taking your hand. It's different than before, when she'd been pulling you through the park. This time, her grip is steady but not demanding, allowing you to pull away if you wanted to do so. It's also possibly the only time you can recall ever seeing your best friend look so...shy.
It's more comforting than anything she could've said, and you give her hand a squeeze to thank her. The two of you enter the roller coaster in seats next to each other, and a worker comes along to help the two of you strap in properly. Your heart feels like it's about to burst out of your chest, and you're assuming it's just because of the roller coaster adrenaline, nothing more.
The ride starts and you close your eyes shut tight, keeping a death grip on Sayori now; you can hear her breathless and excited laughter even through the sounds of the other riders screaming and whooping. Many twists and turns, sometimes slow and sometimes fast yet always nerve-wracking, and a particularly terrifying drop-off later, and the ride is over.
You blink open your eyes, stunned to realize you're still in once piece, and leap out of the coaster as soon as possible, tearing your hand out of Sayori's. She doesn't seem all that worried about it, fortunately. She climbs out onto the solid and safe ground next to you, and you bite back a giggle. Her hair is so crazy and windswept and sticking out in all directions from the ride, but then you figure yours probably is too, and self-consciously try to pat it down.
Unlike you, Sayori doesn't appear concerned with her appearance, her cheeks flushed with delight and invigoration, not embarrassment. "That was so much fun!" She cheers, spinning around you as if she still had too much energy to contain. Then she paused, practically glowing as she looked at you and you only had a heartbeat to notice that she was very close in your personal space. "Thank you so much for coming with me, Y/N."
It was such a genuine and vulnerable statement that you were briefly at a loss for words, trying to read the uncharacteristically intense emotions shining in your friend's blue eyes. "I- it was, sure, it was a lot of fun, Sayori..." You trail off awkwardly, stepping back a pace to escape the close proximity.
Sayori opens her mouth to say something else, but a gasp comes out first as her attention fixes on something behind you. "Can you buy me some pizza? Pleeeeaaaaseeeee? Pretty please?! I'm really hungry now!"
The moment is over with that, and you wince at her childish request. "Pizza sounds good," you relent, causing Sayori to squeal with excitement and rush off to the food stand. You're giving in a lot today, and you aren't sure why, honestly. It wasn't like this was more fun than staying home and watching your favorite shows, right? Although, you did enjoy Sayori's company. There was a reason she was your kind-of-best-friend after all.
Oh, well. You can think about it later. For now you might as well try to have a nice time while you were still here. You follow after your puppy-like friend, spotting her at one of the tables just outside of the food stand talking with someone sitting there. With a start, you recognize the violet long hair of your fellow clubmate, Yuri.
Approaching, you start to greet them, but Sayori interrupts you before you can. "Yeah, Y/N/'s here too!" She pointed at you brightly, and Yuri tenses up, looking up at you like a deer in the headlights, which confuses you. Yuri had seemed perfectly calm before now- sure, a little shy, but now she was the stuttering and nervous girl that you were most familiar with from the Literature Club.
Yuri
You smile, giving a tiny wave. "Hey there, Yuri." Of all the people you might have expected to see here at the amusement park, Yuri was perhaps at the bottom of the list. You would have assumed she would be like you on a Saturday, preferring to stay at home. Except she would be reading novels or writing most likely, not watching anime or reading manga.
You're partly right, because on the table in front of Yuri is an open book instead of anything to eat. How she was able to focus with all the conversation of groups of people swarming around, you had no idea.
"Y/N," whined Sayori after Yuri just gave you a slight nod of greeting, "My pizzaaaaa, please?"
You laugh, waving her away. "I'm going, I'm going, hush! Yuri, did you want anything?" You offered politely.
Your clubmate seems to shrink in on herself, allowing her long dark hair to fall so that it hid her face from your view a bit. "Ah-! Uhm, that's okay, thank you, though." Sometimes you weren't sure how she could write just long and beautifully-worded poems when she seemed to struggle so much with the simplest of phrases spoken outloud.
You accept this and go to buy yourself and Sayori a slice of pizza each, and end up buying Yuri a sweet tea too just because, well, you would feel weird and rude to eat in front of someone else if they didn't have anything. You make your way back over to the table where Sayori is talking to Yuri, her arms flailing around in wild gestures, and you get the suspicion that she's telling Yuri all about the roller coaster ride. Quick to intervene, you set the tray with the food and drinks down on the table, leaning towards Sayori threateningly. "What exactly are you talking about?" You inquire sharply, eyes narrowed.
Sheepishly, Sayori swipes one of the plates with pizza on it to take a bite and shrug, using the food as an excuse not to reply.
Huffing, you distribute the stuff you bought between the three of you, turning to Yuri to protect your reputation. "For the record, I was totally not scared," you promised her.
Yuri is slightly more comfortable now, you think, and there's a tiny glimmer of faint amusement and sympathy in her violet eyes. "I believe you," she murmurs back, so quietly that you almost were unable to catch that. She blinks at the drink that you placed in front of her, apparently having to take a second to process what it meant. And then, completely the opposite of Sayori, her head snapped towards you and her gaze was now wide. "Oh-! You- thank you, Y/N, but- you really, didn't have to, go through the trouble...!"
You tuck into your meal, taking your time in replying while Sayori scarfs down her own food, curiously glancing between you and Yuri as if studying the interaction. "It's no worries," you say after a short while. "I would've felt bad otherwise since me and Sayori have something." You turn your attention to the forgotten book in front of Yuri. "Sorry if we bothered you, by the way! We didn't mean to interrupt your reading or anything."
Sayori bobbed her head in an enthusiastic agreement since her mouth was full and she couldn't say anything.
Once again, you worried that you'd said the wrong thing because Yuri's reaction was much the same as the last time you'd said anything. "That's- that's okay, really! It wasn't, important, and I was..." She seems to give up, seeming helpless and frustrated with herself, only able to take a sip of her drink in defeat.
Sayori finished with her food, standing up abruptly. "Thanks, Y/N!" She chirps, apparently not effected by your and Yuri's awkwardness. "I'm gonna go check out some other stuff, so you should have fun with Yuri!"
Her words catch you off guard, and before you can react or suggest the three of you find something to do together, Sayori is already racing off somewhere, waving over her shoulder at the two of you. You watch as she slams into someone as she wasn't paying any attention to where she was going, and shake your head as she profusely apologizes to them. "Oh, Sayori," you sigh a little dramatically to Yuri. "What are we gonna do with her?"
The other girl bites her lip like she's trying to hold back a laugh. "It's nice that you look after her," she speaks up quietly.
"Ah- I mean, somebody has to, right?" You chuckle to yourself as you resume eating.
Yuri is fine with silence, which doesn't really surprise you. She opens her book back up and starts to read after a minute or two, and you're content too to just finish up your pizza and do some people-watching.
Eventually when you do finish, you throw away your trash and then rejoin Yuri, who's politely closing her book again and standing up as well. She's calmer now, as if reading and not having to engage in conversation for a little bit has recharged her, which you're happy for. "Uhm..." She begins timidly. "Would you like to walk around the park with me?"
You aren't used to Yuri initiating anything at all, and in the space of your bewilderment, she hurriedly continues, "It's okay if you'd rather not-! I only thought..it might be fun, but I understand if..." The last part is more of a mumble.
"Sure, Yuri, I'd love to!" You try to reassure her as smoothly and swiftly as you can in order to avoid hurting her feelings any further or even risking her fleeing. Yuri was such a sweet person, and you'd never want to say no to her and have to see her awfully sad expression, you reflect. "We can head...that way." You pick a random direction and start walking, Yuri following you meekly. She walks near you, but also just a step or two behind, and when you try to slow down so you guys can actually walk together, she stops altogether. Deciding you can't do anything about it for now, you continue the trek, absently looking around at the various stands, games, and rides as you pass them. "I wasn't expecting to run into you here, to be honest," you comment.
Yuri's silent for a beat, causing you to wonder if she was even going to say anything back to that. She finally does, thankfully. "Admittedly, this isn't the sort of place I might usually spend a weekend at." Her words are low and carefully-chosen as usual, like she's cursed to overthink even the barest minimum of small talk. "But my parents insisted I come here."
An amused smile quirks up your lips as you glance back at her. "So you brought a book instead of arguing with them?" You deduct. "Clever. I would've brought a manga or something, but Sayori was impatient to get here. She's always trying to drag me out my house and make me socialize. Take the Literature Club, for example."
Yuri gives you a tiny nod. "It's kind of them to care about us," she says. "I do sometimes wish they could understand me better, though."
"I get that," you agree. "Even if they're a pain sometimes, you love them anyway."
Yuri evidently agrees, but something causes her to stop walking. You pause too, going back to join her. Her attention is on an attraction nearby, a 'haunted house' sort of place. She doesn't look like she had any idea it was here, and you recognize interest and anticipation on her face, which makes you happy- you might be getting a little bit better at reading Yuri, the more time you spend with her.
She reluctantly focuses back on you, and you sense she's about to apologize and continue walking, so you speak before she gets the chance. "We can go check it out, if you want?"
Your clubmate lights up for a moment before wincing. "We don't have to, if you wouldn't like it," is her answer. It's honestly not annoying, mainly because Yuri makes indecisiveness, shyness, and doormat-ness look really, really cute.
"It might be fun," you laugh, guiding her across to the entrance. It looks pretty stereotypical, and you recall going to one of these kinds of places with Sayori one year for Halloween when you were much, much younger, probably like 11 or 12. The line isn't long at all, which is also a bonus. When you two are given the all clear to go inside, you and Yuri enter the narrow, dark hallway.
You're suddenly quite aware of how close Yuri is as you walk- instead of trailing behind, she's right at your side now, pressed up against you since there's not a ton of room in this corridor. She doesn't seem to notice, too enraptured (ha, maybe you were hanging around her too much) by the thrill of what scares might await them to pay you much mind.
Talk about making a girl feel self-conscious. Despite being around the same age, Yuri was so much more...mature than you, to put it politely. It was nice in a way too- you felt safer than if you were by yourself, at the very least, since she was taller than you and so close to you.
The haunted house wasn't too scary, like you had assumed. The actors were great though, and at some point one of them lunged out towards you from a secret passageway and it startled you so badly that you ended up leaping backwards and pressing back against Yuri, your eyes wide and your heart hammering so loudly you bet the violet-haired girl had no trouble hearing it.
You stared tensely at the 'monster', needing a moment to collect yourself and remember how to breathe again. It's Yuri that manages to bring you out of it, which is so sweet of her since you all but crashed into the poor girl. She wraps her arms around you in a very gently hug, resting her chin on your hair. Where did all that confidence come from, anyway? It may have been the really dim lighting, you think to yourself- you can hardly see each other, so that could've given Yuri some boldness. Either that or she was finally getting comfortable around you!
The actor slowly recedes away, and you stay perfectly still for a minute longer than necessary. Finally, you clear your throat, awkwardly disentangling yourself from Yuri, who hops away from you quickly too, and even in the near-pitch black you could swear that she's blushing like crazy as she tries to stammer out an apology.
You shake your head, smiling nervously even though she can't see it. "T-Thanks, Yuri."
Okay, so maybe you had lied a little bit about it being 'not too scary.'
That was the last of the real scares, and you gladly spring out into the sunlight of day again, stretching your arms over your head. You look back to see Yuri hovering back in the darkness of the haunted house- was she okay? You ask your thought outloud.
"Y-Yes! I'm sorry. I'm coming..." She grudgingly steps out to join you in the real world, and you realize with a sense of deep sadness that she's not meeting your gaze anymore again. Great, just when you finally thought you were starting to make some progress on being friends with her. "That was a nice time, thank you very much, Y/N-" Those next words are blurted out and spoken so fast you're shocked she doesn't stutter over them. And the next thing you know, she's gone, disappearing into the crowds and leaving you alone and more than a little disappointed and confused.
Natsuki
You sigh to yourself as you wander around the amusement park, scanning around to see if anything piques your interest. You were also sort of hoping to see Sayori, considering she was responsible for dragging you here and now she'd ditched you, but you also wouldn't mind bumping into Yuri again to hang out. Something told you that Yuri had been pushed to her social interaction limit for the day though.
A loud, squeaky, angry, and oh-so-familiar voice causes you to head towards it and check out what's happening. As you thought, it's Natsuki, another of the girls in the Literature Club. She's standing at one of the game stands with her hands on her hips and leaning towards the guy running the game in an aggressive stance. You note that the game is one of those ones where you have to throw some darts at a balloon, and if you can pop one, you can get a prize. The prizes line the wall behind the man (more like disinterested teenage boy, but close enough), and they all are varying degrees of fluffy and cute stuffed animals. You never were a fan of amusement park games because they were more often than not rigged more than a claw machine.
You get a little closer so that you can hear better.
"...completely unfair! I hit that balloon, you and I both saw it!" Hisses Natsuki at the worker. It was too easy to compare her to a puffed up and angry kitten, you muse to yourself.
The boy shrugs. "Look, kid, if the balloon doesn't pop, then you don't get a prize. That's like, our only rule."
Fury flashes across Natsuki's face, and you resist the urge to laugh. Natsuki did look pretty young, but she was around your age, and probably this guy's age too. "Don't call me 'kid'!" She exclaims. "I won, fair and square! Just because it didn't-"
The argument was starting to draw in other bystanders, not just yourself. And you realize with a flicker of fear that you can see the worker reach for his walkie-talkie like he's going to call in security. Security on Natsuki, for god's sake. Ridiculous.
To prevent her from possibly being forcibly removed from the amusement park, you hurry over and place some money down on the game stand stable. "Can I try?" You interject. Even though you're not looking at Natsuki, you can feel her flinch away from you and sense her hostility and surprise at this new turn of events.
The boy running the stand regards you boredly, but you're relieved to see him put the walkie-talkie down. "Sure. That'll get you three tries."
Beside you, Natsuki scoffs. "As if you can hit one of them!" She grumbles. "It's not as easy as it looks." By how frustrated she was acting, you could guess that she'd been here the better part of the day attempting to win. But which prize did she have her eye on?
"Maybe not, but I can give it a shot," you say lightly. "Which one are we after?" You question her.
Natsuki glares at you fiercely, and you can see she's got a blush that matches her hair. Grudgingly, she points towards one of the bigger stuffed animals, a white bunny rabbit near the very top. "It's- it's not for me!" She informs you at once. "I wanted it for- for a friend. That's all."
'She's a terrible liar.' Nodding, you turn your attention to the man and tell him, "If I win, we get the bunny. Deal?"
"Means you've gotta shoot the purple balloon."
Of course, the purple balloon is at the very top of the wall of balloons. Fantastic. You don't have too much hope that you'll actually be able to pop it, especially when you see the kinds of darts he hands over to you. First of all, the tips are so blunt and dull that you can 100% believe that Natsuki did hit the balloon with one, but it wasn't nearly sharp enough to even hurt someone if they tested it against their skin. Second, the weight of it felt wildly uneven in the palm of your hand. The shape of the dart just wasn't sufficient enough to propel it through the air like it should have. This was precisely why you never would waste your time or money on this...but you couldn't exactly back out now, not with Natsuki's intense magenta eyes watching you like a hawk. If you didn't at least make an attempt, you'd never hear the end of it at the Literature Club, and it might cause you to lose what little respect Natsuki had for you. Which never seemed like a lot to begin with.
"C'mon, we've got a line now," sighed the worker, unimpressed with your examination of his faulty darts. It wasn't his fault they sucked, anyway. You were so focused on aiming your first dart that you didn't see the angry glance Natsuki cast at the boy.
You pulled back your arm and flung the dart at the balloon. It was pretty pitiful, you couldn't deny that. It sailed off away from the wall of balloons and landed outside of the game stand on the grass somehow.
Natsuki huffed a sigh, her arms crossed. But when the worker snorted and tried to hide his laughter, the little pinkette sprang closer like an affronted pomeranian. "It's not her fault these darts are total crap!" She snapped. You would never have expected in a million years for Natsuki of all people to jump to your defense and try to protect your honor.
She catches your wide-eyed gaze and then looks off to the side irritably. "Keep- keep your eyes to yourself," she growled under her breath.
You fortunately have the sense not to tease her about it. You have a better feel for how the darts travel through the air now, so you pick up the second one and aim again before sending it sailing. This time, it manages to hit the purple balloon target, but it simply bounces off the surface of it and clatters to the ground.
Natsuki opens her mouth to potentially blow up on the man, but you press a finger to your lips in a silent plea to ask her to be quiet. Now you have to take the brunt of her righteous fury in only a single expression, but she doesn't say a word.
One chance left.
You pick up your final dart, judging the distance from here to the balloon and considering the best angle to throw it. After a bit, you finally shoot your shot- and the resounding pop! catches you and all the bystanders by surprise.
What remains of the purple balloon flutters uselessly in the breeze. The worker still cares nothing for this, just goes to pluck the stuffed rabbit toy down from the prize wall.
You turn to beam at Natsuki, pleased with yourself. You've managed to surprise her, you can tell, and when you're handed your prize, you offer it out to Natsuki with a bright smile. "That was fun, huh?"
She stares at the bunny rabbit, still trying to process what had just happened. Slowly, as if she believed it's soft, fake fur was poisoned or something, she reached out to take it into her arms. Her face is growing more and more red by the second, and she buries it into the plush doll as if to hide herself or maybe try to regain her composure. Probably both.
The worker clears his throat loudly, indicating the two of you are still holding up the line, so you and Natsuki swiftly step to the side and start walking through the park. You're a little concerned she might trip over something or into someone since she's still hiding her face in the rabbit's fur and can't see where she's going, so you stick close to her in case she needs a hand to steady her. So much for 'letting her fall next time.'
When you can't handle the awkward silence any longer, you say, "Er, Natsuki...? Are you-"
She straightens up, cuddling the rabbit close to her. "It's fine!" She squeaks. "I- I mean- that was-" She's truly struggling here, and it makes you feel guilty. "You did okay," she manages to at last get out.
A twinge of unexpected hurt flashes through you. You'd privately been hoping that she would be impressed and grateful, but you guessed you shouldn't have ever thought those words might even be in Natsuki's vocabulary. "Oh..." You didn't mean for it to come out so forlorn, but you couldn't help it. "Yeah, thanks." You turn away from her, fighting back your disappointment. "I guess I'll see you at the club after school Monday, then-"
As you take the first step away, however, you feel Natsuki's hand dart out to grab your arm and force you to stop. "Wait!" Her voice is high-pitched with some frantic emotion you can't place a name to. "W-Wait, Y/N- I only meant that-" She huffs, stomping her shoe on the ground in obvious exasperation that you could only hope wasn't directed at you. "I-" God, it's a train wreck not just for her, but for you to witness too. "Thank you-!" The words have to be practically dragged out of her, so she tries again. "...Thank you."
You wait in confusion to see if there's anything else she's going to add, but when she doesn't, you tentatively reply, "Uhm...no problem-? I mean, you're always bringing cupcakes and stuff to share with everyone, so I just was hoping maybe I could try to return the favor and get you something." You pause. "I mean, get you something that you wanted to give to your friend." Best to try and fix any potential mistakes that could get you yelled at again.
Those words had some kind of effect on Natsuki, that was for sure, but you had no idea if it was a good kind or a bad kind. She's gazing up at you silently, seemingly frozen in place. Something snaps her back to reality, for she at last releases your arm, hugging the rabbit again like it could support her. "I guess...you can be really sweet sometimes instead of just a pain in the ass," she mumbles. You're about ready to be offended until Natsuki slowly holds out her bunny towards you, refusing to look at you. You're extremely befuddled and not sure what to expect when the soft nose of the plush bunny rabbit is touched gently against your cheek in a gesture that's very much like a feather-light kiss. "S-Stupid."
You feel like you're too paralyzed to respond in any kind of way, and besides, Natsuki's already brushing past you and stalking off, not giving you a moment to react anyway. You stand there for what feels like a long time after she's gone until it feels like you might have just imagined what happened there at the end.
Monika
Your day at the amusement park was drawing to a close, and suffice to say, you were thoroughly exhausted by everything that had happened. You stop to rest at one of the benches that was sort of away from the throngs of people who were starting to leave the park to head home, so at least the crowds were thinning out. Sayori had insisted you guys come here today, since it was Saturday and all, but she'd ditched you what feels like forever ago, and then you'd run into all the other members of the Literature Club- well, almost all of the other members, that is.
You let your mind drift as you sat there, leaning back into the wooden white bench and staring up at the sky. The yellow light was starting to fade as the sun slowly began it's descent into the horizon line. The amusement park would be closing in maybe an hour or so, you think to yourself as you let your eyes drift shut. You should really go and try to find Sayori so you can walk home together with her...not that the streets weren't safe in the evening, but it was entirely possible your friend could get lost or distracted and end up wandering around town for hours when she should be home. But you were honestly worn out from hours of walking around and socializing...
Right when you've finally gotten comfortable enough that you think you're dozing off out of reality and into a well-deserved, dreamy nap, there's a voice from right beside you that scares you enough to make you jump and snap your eyes wide open.
"Hi, Y/N! Fancy meeting you here."
Aaand, now you'd come across all of your Literature Club members- sitting on the bench beside you with her hands folded neatly in her lap was Monika. You've never seen her in anything besides her school uniform before, but the casual white and mint-green floral spring dress matched both her signature white bow and her eyes nicely at the same time. You hadn't even heard her walk up or sit down, which was kind of odd, but not odd enough for you to really think anything of it.
"Ah- hi, Monika," you greet with a small smile, trying to relax and not look as out-of-sorts as you felt. You run a hand through your hair, exhaling quietly in what was almost a sigh. "Yeah, I wasn't planning on leaving the house today, to be honest," you say in faint amusement. "Sayori sort of dragged me here to hang out."
Monika tilts her head to one side with a pleasant smile in return to you. "I see." She glances around as if she's expecting to see Sayori racing towards the two of you and calling loudly, her arms up in the air to get both of your attentions. But you and Monika are mostly alone. "So you spent the day with her?" The question is casual, and you don't think much of it at all.
"Uhm, not the whole day. We spent a little time together before she ran off somewhere...I bumped into Yuri and Natsuki today too, actually. Oh, but I was sort of thinking I should go try and find Sayori so we could head home."
Monika's emerald green gaze flicks away from you as a breeze ruffles her hair and yours. She doesn't respond for a moment, but you see that her friendly smile has faded somewhat now- and she looks...it's hard to say. Monika looks- gosh, you wish you were half as smart and descriptive as Yuri sometimes- wistful? Was that the word? Contemplatively wistful? She speaks again and it rouses you out of your daze. "So you were just about to leave." The Literature Club president flashes you an apologetic glance before rising gracefully up from the bench. "I didn't mean to bother; I can see you're tired, Y/N. I should get going too."
She doesn't seem sad, not necessarily, but you get the sense that something is a little off. Maybe it's the time of day affecting her mood? It's that weird hour where the day is technically over, but not quite yet- and there's a regretful longing permeating the atmosphere, the only way you could describe it might be like the feeling a high school kid gets on a Sunday evening, in spite of the fact today was Saturday, meaning the weekend wasn't over yet.
You move to stand up as well, a little clumsier than Monika. "But- there's still a little while before the park closes. If there was anything you still wanted to do here, I could come with you, if that sounds alright? Unless you were really going to leave, that is. I'm not so tired that I'd miss hanging out with you- outside of school, I mean."
There's the slightest hint of hesitation, and you're unable to decipher Monika's feelings right now. If you were to guess, you might say she's conflicted. Just as you're positive she's going to politely decline, her warm smile returns. "That would be nice," she says, and you realize you've been holding your breath.
"Okay, cool!" You brighten up and begin to walk through the amusement park with Monika.
She has her hands clasped behind her back and she's looking around to admire the scenery around you both while you do your best not to stare like a weirdo at her. "So, uhm...were you wanting to go on a ride or...?" You ask after a little while of silence.
Monika hums, but you don't think she's actually considering your suggestion. "I wouldn't ask you to wear yourself out anymore. When I first saw you on the bench, I thought you might have been taking a nap." While her tone of voice is casual, you can't shake the sense that there's an undercurrent of something else in those words. Almost like she's accusing others of making you tired or something. You're probably just imagining it.
Briefly, you wonder why she joined you if she thought you were asleep.
As if reading your thoughts, your club president continues, "Sorry if I disturbed you, Y/N." She slows the pace while you assure her that it was okay and she had done no such thing, stopping eventually to gaze upwards.
You follow suit to see the Ferris wheel towering above your heads. "I haven't been up there today," you comment thoughtfully. "Is it a pretty view?"
Monika dips her head slightly in assent. "I think so, yeah. Coming?" She leads you over to the man who is seating people in each of the carts, and he warns that this is the last go-around. "We understand, thank you," Monika says to him, and while she's just as charming, you think you know her well enough now to tell that this is her feigned politeness, like her guard is up.
He grunts and allows the two of you in one of the carts, shutting the glass door behind you.
You actually aren't scared at all. Well, you guess you are a little apprehensive at being in this small space alone with Monika, but you tell yourself you're being ridiculous. She's your friend, isn't she? So there's not a thing in the world to be nervous about...
The cart starts to go up into the air, and you stay standing while Monika takes a seat. Your hands press against the glass as the two of you climb higher and higher. The city is there, with all it's buildings and roads, but beyond it is... you can't really see what's beyond the city, and this confuses you. Shouldn't there be...something? Instead of just, blurry darkness? You blink several times and then brush at your eyes with the back of one hand like your sight is trying to deceive you. But when you look again, you still see only the murky black of nothingness beyond your city.
Monika's voice so near to you gives you a start- you'd been so dumbfounded by the missing scenery that you hadn't heard her stand up and come closer to you. Instead of watching the outside world, you sense her eyes are fixed intently on you. "What do you think?"
It's almost a relief to tear your gaze away from the glass. Her expression is rather closed off but serious, and sort of searching yours. You wish, not for the first time, that Monika was less of a mystery to you.
How to respond? "It's- strange," you manage to say.
The brunette leans impossibly closer to you, alight with surprise and near-disbelief as she presses, "What do you mean strange, Y/N?"
Feeling awkward and pressured, you find yourself taking a step backwards from Monika to get some space between you two. 'She'll think I'm crazy if I say it looks like we're floating in the middle of nowhere-outer-space in the middle of like a black hole or something.' "J-Just that-" You can see something akin to desperation written on her now, like she's trying to silently plead with you to answer her question sincerely. You fumble on the words, unused to this sort of intensity. "Just that...the town- it looks- different from up here..." Each word is stiff and awkward, you're really an awful liar, maybe even as bad as Natsuki.
Fervid disappointment seems to shake Monika's entire being, and she pulls back away from you, looking outside of the Ferris wheel cart again and far off into the distance. She's starting to become composed again and when the cart makes it last lap around and comes to a slow halt at the bottom, she turns back to face you and she's her usual self again: friendly, sweet, and bright. "I understand. Thank you, Y/N." The door to the cart opens and Monika moves to step out, offering you her hand to help you out.
Your breathing feels a little labored, and it isn't until later that you realize you'd actually been afraid. Not of Monika, more of the fact that you'd never once seen her behave anything like that before. It left such an impression on you that you were positive you hadn't imagined it. You do end up accepting her hand though, and you wonder if she can feel it's slight tremble.
One thing you weren't sure if you had imagined was the weird end of the world thing surrounding your city. Maybe there was something wrong with you. But you couldn't really think about that now.
"I told you it was a pretty view," giggled Monika. "You seem surprised. Didn't believe me?" She teased gently.
"Oh-! Oh, no, it isn't that! Like I said, it just was, er... different than I expected, is all," you murmur, glancing away- Monika's still holding your hand, but you don't have the heart to pull it out of her grasp.
You don't end up having to make that choice, since she jumps away from you at the yell of your friend Sayori. You see her bounding over to the two of you, just barely managing to hit the brakes and skid to a halt before colliding with you. She does however manage to shower you with dust and pebbles, to which you just press a hand to your forehead to quell a headache.
"Y/N! There you are! I was looking all over the place for you!" Sayori exclaims. She then waves at Monika, as bubbly as ever even though she should've, theoretically, gotten rid of some of that excess energy at the amusement park today. "Hey, Monika! Thanks for looking after her," she laughed.
Monika nods, much to your indignation. "My pleasure, Sayori. I'd better head off, then. I'll see you both after school for the club Monday!" She walked away, waving her farewell for a moment.
You didn't realize you were watching her go until Sayori's hand flailed in front of your face to get your attention. "Hey, we are going home together, aren't we?" She insists. "Otherwise I wasted soooo much time trying to hunt you down, Y/N!"
"Right, right, sorry. Of course we're walking back together- I was looking for you too."
Sayori pouts a little. "Did you think I'd be on the Ferris wheel?"
You grin. "Did you just use sarcasm, Sayori?"
She shakes her head quickly to deny it. "No, never! But am I wrong?"
"Okay, so maybe I did agree to spend some time with Monika," you confess with a shrug, allowing Sayori to pull you away towards the amusement park exit.
Sayori frowns, an unusual look for her. But it isn't a sad frown- it's a concentrated one. She was studying you with determination. "Did something happen? You seem a little out of it!" Amused, she pokes your cheek. "Fess up, Y/N! Do you have a crush on our club president? You have to tell me if you do! We're best friends!"
Sheesh, as if Sayori could ever keep a secret. But she was completely off base with that guess. "No," you answer her calmly. "I guess I...had some kind of epiphany."
".....what's an epiphany?"
'Ohmygod.'
All for Seokjin part 1, Part 2(Final)
Your attempt to get with Seokjin. college au. Seokjin X Reader.
 word count: ~7k
W: no i did not look over this, and no i do not know how this will end :)
=========================================================
You walked by the gym pool listening to Hitman Bang. Waiting for the time to hit 8am for your morning aerobics class. You had 45 minutes left, having rushed over to your collage campus to get a close parking space.
Your phone vibrated indicating a text message from your friend Yuri saying she wasn’t going to come to this class as she decided to study for an astrology exam later for that day.
You internally screamed for a moment at the thought of not having your friend while you repeatedly stepped on blocks while listening to “We are Bullet Proof pt. 2”.
As you turned a corner you decided to wander inside the gymnasium. You peeked through the doors to see a couple of guys throwing the ball around. You were about to continue walking when you saw your crush Kim Seokjin. You internally sighed thinking about how beautiful he is. Broad shoulders on display as he threw the ball back to his friends. You knew nothing about Seokjin. Besides his name which you happen to catch on orientation day. However, one thing you were certain about was his body. The way he talked, the way he used over exaggerated hand gestures. The line of his legs. His broad shoulders. His rosy lips, and the playful glint in his eyes. The genuine happiness of seeing how his friends all laughed at what he was saying. You saw his eyes close with laughter, and the way his face became red as he pretended to be offended.
As you imagined your hands trailing through his soft brown hair, your eyes lingered to his eyes only to have him staring back at you. Your eyes widen in shock and you quickly moved out of the door way. You felt your face heat up and you ran away as far as you can.  You find yourself in a bathroom stall that was next to the gym. You took cover in there for a while as you catched your breath.
You never thought you would be in a situation where you are viewed as a wirdeo. Why did you run? You should have just casually smiled or nodded and retuned walking as if you were lost or looking for someone else. Gosh, he probably thinks you are a freak. But you’re sure he possibly didn’t see all of you.
As you finally got courage to exit the bathroom you walked out. I mean there’s no way he would be outside waiting for you, right?
And sure enough, he wasn’t waiting for you. This twisted love story you were hoping for does not exist. Honesty you expected him to be waiting for you outside, expected some love story in which he is leaning against the wall and ask you what you are doing as he tilts his head and a smirk appears on his flawless face. Defeated you walked out of the building.
You first saw Seokjin in your college orientation of your freshman year. You sat next to him during the lunch break. He was so focused on eating that he never noticed you staring right at him. The way he filed up his cheeks as he ate and laughed with his friends siting next to him, friends you later find out are Jung Hoseok and Kim Namjoon. You were alone that day, as your friends went to other schools. And the only people you knew had orientation on a different day. You picked up his name by peeking at his packet sheet. He was an acting major. His name Kim Seokjin.
You never saw him again despite you attempt of trying to casually pass him by the theater department. It wasn’t until the beginning of this year, of your junior year, that you saw him again. You were sitting at the library typing away on an essay when someone sat next to you. You didn’t pay the person any attention as you were so engrossed and on a roll on your paper. It wasn’t until you felt burnt out that you decided to go home. You tucked your laptop away and stood up to see the boy next to you. He looked familiar. He looked up and gave you a casual smile, you retuned it and rushed away. As you were walking thinking of the boys stunning smile, despite that it was closed lip and shy, it was so bright and memorizing. Then you realized it was Hoseok. You didn’t know his name then, but you remembered him.
Suddenly feelings of Seokjin rushed to your brain. You remembered your countless nights trying to find any social media of his but never finding it. You did have a few suspect accounts that were all on private and despite your urge to create a fake account you never did it. Soon Seokjin became a distant loving memory in the back of your mid as you walked the campus filled of hungry and deprived students.
But now Hoseok, or as you know him at the time Seokjin’s friend, was inside the library. You did something you always said you wouldn’t do. You swallowed your pride and waited outside the library in a bench. Trying to come off as a “need for a change of environment to write” you continued to write your essay with little advancement as you typed wordlessly. For a second you were worried. What if he left in a different exit and here you are wasting your time as the sun is beginning to go down. And then Hoseok walked out. He put his earphones on as he walks briskly down the path that led to the parking lot. This was perfect as your car was also parked there. As you neared closer you realized what twisted fate this was. Hoseok’s black Toyota car was parked right next to your Hyundai. You paused how awkward would this be. He didn’t see you outside the library or noticed you walking behind him. But he did see you walking out the library. Would he think of you as a wiredo. You didn’t want that, so like a wierdo you found the closet tree and hid behind it. Thankfully the tree was big enough to cover you. So you peeked to the side and watched as he turned on his car and slowly backed out.
You looked for that car every time you parked, you even opted on missing some perfect parking spaces just to be near that location. All that work paid off when you saw his car one more time.  He was parked right next to you. So, you sat in your car rolled down your window and waited as you scrolled through your phone. You convinced yourself, this isn’t suspicious behavior. Almost all students sit in their cars waiting for their classes to begin not wanting to sit in the quad and be bothered.
You heard males voices. Your ears trained on their conversation.
“C’mon Hoseok, give me a ride, I don’t want to wait for Seokjin. He’s so slow in taking exams”.
Seokjin.
“Fine. Fine, but I’m going straight home, you can tell him to get you from there. I’m so tired from studying for that exam”.
“Aay Namjoon, so who was that girl earlier?”
“Don’t ask me” A new voice said. “That’s Yoongi’s business”.
“Shes no one” You heard the second voice respond. All the voices laughed.
You heard doors opening so you slowly turned your head over just to make sure. Sure enough, you see Hoseok laughing as he climbed into the car.
Within you vision blonde hair appeared.  You didn’t pay much attention to it. You were trying to remember all the names you heard, Hoseok, Namjoon, and Yoongi. When suddenly the blonde hair turns around and you find yourself face to face with this beautiful (and deadly) boy. You were so shocked with the exposure and his soft features that you stood there like a deer in headlights. You felt guilty for eaves dropping, but they didn’t know that.
“hey” The voice said.
“He-Hello”. You replied. Looking down.
“Do I know you?”
“Me?” You ask dumbly. “Uhh I’m not sure. I don’t think so”. You could feel a blush forming into your cheeks. Normally this stuff wouldn’t bother you. But this boy is beautiful, he knows Seokjin, and you were just eaves dropping on his conversation.
He looked at you as he tilted his head. He raised his eyebrows and said, “No, I do. Last Semester Poetry” He said more to himself.
“Yeah I guess” you replied, as you did in fact take poetry last semester. Then it hit you. Rapper boy.
In your poetry class there was this guy who never showed his face. He always covered himself with a bucket hat and wore mask all day. That and the fact that you sat up front, so you never bothered to look behind you. This boy would always write “raps” for the workshops. You can’t even make fun of him through because they were good. Although one was questionable (A-to the G to the U to the STD), the memory of that day almost made you laugh. You remember having this urge to look around to see if anyone felt that same as you did.
If you would’ve known the boy under the bucket hat and hidden behind the mask was this beautiful. If you would’ve known this was Seokjin’s friend. You would have shamelessly partnered up with him during every activity.
“Hey Yoongi! Do you want a ride or what?” You hear Hoseok shout out.
Yoongi gave you a nod as you giggled (yes, you were trying to be cute. He unfortunately did not seem affected by it).
He got into the car and they drove away.
If you were to say you didn’t wait in your car for one more hour after hearing that Seokjin is still taking an exam you would be lying. You waited, and he never came.
After seeing these 3 boys, you started to notice them everywhere, including Seokjin as you started to look around you. Never in your life did you realize how tall your schools’ trees are as you became more aware of your surroundings. All for Seokjin.
Now hear you are in your aerobics class. Excited that you saw Seokjin once more. That’s twice this month.
Later that night as you showered you really had to reflect on yourself. What are you doing? You are really coming off as a stalker. You’ve made up your mind  that you are going to talk to Seokjin. If you continued this way then you would definitely be a stalker or some wiredo.
Tomorrow, no matter what you WILL talk to Seokjin. Even if its with just one of his friends.
The following weeks you were on a hunt for Yoongi, or rapper boy. You only managed to catch him once walking towards an Art building. You were with Yuri, she was planning your tactic on getting Hitman Bang tickets for his upcoming stadium tour. You saw Yoongi with his earphones on. So, you knew you had to be loud and direct. You fast walked up to him as smoothly as you can.
“Yoongi!” you yelled in his face. Yoongi looked at you shocked. You startled him, but you were expecting that, so you didn’t really care. He slowly removed an earphone. He looked behind you almost worriedly. You turned around to see a girl staring at both of you with a concerned look.
You turned back to him. “uhh… Yoongi”.
“Yes...Who are you?”
You cannot believe this as if he didn’t approach you first in the car and now he was going to act as If he didn’t know you.
You felt a presence behind you before you can respond. Annoyed with both Yoongi and this obvious presence that doesn’t understand space. You stepped aside allowing them to come into the conversation. You looked to the person, already guessing it was the girl.
Silence.
“So umm” Yoongi started with a cough.
“Yoongi, I am only hear because you told me to meet you here.” The girl said firmly.
Oh dang. Were you getting in the way? Embarrassed and feeling confident that someone would think you were enough to be a threat, you laughed.
‘oh, I just saw you Yoongi and wanted to ask you a question”.
Yoongi nodded for you to go on, before sneaking a glance at the girl.
“You…uh… you are still… rapping right?” you said slowly.
“Yeah” he simply responded.
“Well… I uhh… I write poetry” you begin, “and I wanted to perhaps add music to it, So I was wondering if you can give me some tips or you know anything to possibly get into it. Maybe a show I can attend or an event?”
You heard the girl next to you snort. Obviously thinking this was your way of trying to be flirty and get close to him.
Yoongi just looked at you. I mean he really looked at you.
You were dressed in blue jeans, a gray shirt and a green cardigan. He remembers your poetry was sweet and strangely depressing, for someone who opts for icy pink gloss.
‘Yeah... sure...” he finally says. “I... uh... actually I’m going to perform this weekend if you want to stop by and get into the crowd. I’ll introduce you to a couple people I know”.
Perfect.
You knew Yoongi was inviting you to get more people to his show, but you didn’t care it was a win for everyone.
“Yeah sure” You said a bit to enthusiastic.
Once again earning a snort from the girl next to you.
“Here I’ll give you my number and text you the location. The venue isn’t confirmed yet” He shyly said.
You quickly got your phone that was in your back pocket. He said his numbers out loud and you called him.
“That’s mine you said” as his ringtone of some Travis Scott song come on.
“Okay see you then!” you said cheerily, turning around just in time to see the girl roll her eyes.
“What do you want Yoongi?” you heard her ask annoyed.
“I Just wanted to see you, ___ (If you’re a Yoongi stan ayy)”.
You meet up with Yuri, who waited for you by distracting herself with some study abroad booth.
“who was that?” she asked as you joined her. Picking up a pamphlet to Spain.
“Him… Oh, Yoongi, he’s in or was in my poetry class I just asked him about some competition”.
Yuri turned to you with a smirk “sure...”
Before you can protest she smiled saying “He’s cute”.
You wanted to slap her. Cute? He’s Beautiful, gorgeous. Frankly you were proud of yourself for not stuttering in front of him.
“He’s okay” you responded.
“okay, is that why you were so bubbly for him and got his number”
Your eyes went wide.
“Ummm NO, Yuri as you can see he’s with some girl”.
“ouch, sorry” she said laughing.
You turned back to Yoongi and the Girl to see him smiling like a goof. This was the first time you seen such a smile on him. Well actually you haven’t seen him enough to know but with the way he acted and the couple times you seen him you never excepted him to make such an expression. The girl herself was even wearing some goofy simile, contrary to her icy vibe from before.
You only wished you and Seokjin could see each other like that one day.
 You got Yoongi’s text friday night. He said it was at some bar Saturday night at like 9:30. He and his crew, some D-town name, are going to perform. He also added a “bring your plus ones”. You felt bad for Yoongi. Like yeah right you were going to bring people with you only to flood you with questions of why you were going to see some rap kids perform. You didn’t even go to slam poetry readings.
However, after googling the bar and seeing how it was in a questionable part of town and right next to a strip club and a pool place. You decided maybe its best to come with people. Yuri was not an option. You knew that girl would find out all your plans and secrets of your longing for Seokjin. You weren’t going to ask any of your other friends because they were going to think you were crazy or trying to sell them off. So, you texted your cousin to come with you. He likes rap music. He was younger then you, so you made sure to demand him to come.
He said hell only go if he can bring his friends. Of course, you complied.   The more men, even if they were little boys the better. They were freshmen in college. And maybe Yoongi would be happy you brought some “dudes”.
 You got your cousins text message that he was outside your house. He was going to drive you because he knew if you took your car you would play only Hitman Bang.
You walked out to see his small black car and noticed three other bodies in the back.  You opened the door to the smell of vanilla.
You were wearing black jeans, your black low-heeled ankle boots, and a black jacket. You didn’t know what one would wear to a rap place, but this seemed acceptable enough. You looked at your cousins’ clothes and saw brands and words all over. Guess some cool kid clothes. Something about Anti or whatever.
“AAY, __”. He said putting the car to drive.
“Hey” You replied cautions of the guys behind you.
“So, this Jimin, Taehyung, they are my roommates”. You cousin went to a different university. Honestly you were thankful he came given the fact that he was 2 hours away. But you’re sure they don’t mind. Some horny freshman wanting to see the world.
‘Hey!” they said in unison. All fresh and young.
“And the one in the middle is Jungkook, he’s still in high school but it’s okay”.
The boy shily smiled at you.
“Jaebum, what do you mean high school? We’re going to a bar. They are not going to let him in”.
“Its okay,” you heard a sweet voice say behind you. “I have a fake ID”.
Oh my. You were not going to go to jail.
“Uhh, how old are you, Jungkook?”
“I’m 19... I uhh failed a grade.” He said the last part quietly. The other boys snickered next to him.
“Wait, you guys are 21, right?” You knew Jaebum was 21 having celebrated his birthday with the family at a park a couple months ago.
“I’m 21” the one named Jimin said.
“I’m 20, but I also got a fake ID” the other said.
Oh, god, 2 fakes.
“Okay if you guys get caught that’s on you. I don’t know you. I’m not going to jail”.
“It’s okay, nothings gonna happened relax” Taehyung said reaching into his pocket to pull out a blunt.
“Oh, hell no” you said “Put that away, I don’t want double charges” you practically shrieked.
Taehyung only chuckled “It’s okay, Relax, I got a medical Card”
“A MEDICAL CARD, Is that fake too? “
“Tae, just put it away” Jimin said.
You were grateful for Jimin as Taehyung began to put the blunt back into his pocket with a pout. That is until Jimin said
“Once she goes with her OWN friends, well be good”. You can feel the ice in his tone that fake niceness as he smiled at you. You couldn’t see him as you were facing up, but you just knew he was smiling as you heard all the boys in the car snicker.
“Yes” You replied, “not wanting to be beat by the kids, “Once I find my friends, you know the ones who are Performing”.
“Yeah I just hope were not the only ones” Jaebum said “You said they are underground?’
You cannot believe your luck. You were stuck with these kids who are plain jokes.
“He’s good okay” You defended Yoongi.
Cause honestly, he was good.
“well be the judge of that” Jimin replied.
You turned around and made sure Jimin saw you rolling your eyes at him.
“oooo” Jungkook and Taehyung said, like the little kids they are.
“watch it, little girl” Jimin said lowly.
“okay” you said laughing.
You didn’t notice Jimin’s grin. Nor Jaebum’s glares at Jimin through the review mirror, nor Taehyung’s smug smile at Jimin and Jungkook nudging Jimin’s side.
 You walked inside the dimly lit bar.
Its horizontal shape led to a rounded end where you saw a group of people gathering. On top of a stage was a DJ, which was honestly just some dude with a laptop.
You sat wearily on the bar stool as you ordered your strawberry drink with minimal alcohol. You didn’t want to get drunk you had to be aware, if you wanted to get close to Seokjin.
You saw how Jungkook and Taehyung ordered tequila shots.
You rolled your eyed. As you got up to leave you were not going to be responsible for them. You couldn’t believe they got in, the security didn’t even bother to look at their ID’s. With a grunt, he simply allowed you all to enter.
You walked up to the crowd this is where the “party” will happen. You heard murmurs and tried to find the words Seokjin among them.
The only voices you heard was Jaebum, as he and his friends gathered behind you.
A minute later and the lights in the dimly light corner turned off. The loud blare of the typical horn that you find in rap battles went off. You heard a pre recorded “D-BOY” and you knew instantly it was Yoongi. Sure, enough the lights turned on and Yoongi appeared at the center of the stage.
The rap began, and the music followed. It was an okay show you couldn’t even enjoy it, nor could you process the fact that Namjoon or RM, as he is known here, got on stage. You were so caught up on trying to find Seokjin. What if he didn’t even come and you simply wasted your time. Which wasn’t so wasted as Yoongi and RM weren’t so bad.
Then you saw Hoseok.
“Come on”, you shouted in Taehyungs ear who was at your left. Taehyung didn’t hear you as he was too busy feeling the music. He had his hands out shouting AAAYYY and OOOOs . You turned around to see all boys into the performance.
You kept your eye on Hoseok, not wanting to lose him.
The show ended and you quickly grabbed Taehyungs hand.
“Don’t you want to meet them?” you asked him not waiting for an answer as you saw his grin appear.
You grabbed onto his wrist and dragged him across the floor to where you had your eyes on Hoseok.
You knew the others would follow along like ducklings.
You didn’t realize how many people were there as you squeezed yourself through the crowd. When did they all show up?
You appeared in front of Hosoek who looked confused as you approached him.
“Hey” he said in a low voice, trying to seduce you yet confused as you still held Taehyungs wrist.
“Hi, you’re Yoongis friend yes?” you asked knowing the answer “Agust D” He corrected “yeah I know him”.
“Cool. Where is he I have his biggest fans here”
You heard shuffling behind you knowing full well the kids did not appreciate your comment.
“Uhh, yeah Um I think he left to an after party”. Hoseok said slowly obviously trying to think of a way to deny you kindly.
“Okay, cool, Ill just call him” you said, annoyed at him thinking you are some stalker.
“Okay well I see you there then” Hoseok smirked at you.
You smiled back at him and you pulled out your phone. You called Yoongi without second thinking and were surprised to hear him answer.
“Hello” he said.
“Yoongi! Hi, I saw you, you were so great!”
“oh” Yoongi sounded surprised, “thanks”
“Yeah, listen so I brought my little cousin and he wanted to meet you, he thinks your great. I think he wants your picture”.
“What the-“ you heard Jaebum say as his friends laughed at him.
“Uhh yeah sure, wow that’s great” You could hear Yoongis smile form as he laughed. ‘Okay hey, I’m at my place, you guys can come over I can meet you there”.
“Okay sure text me the place”.
At the car Jaebum was so confused on how he left so quickly after the show.
“How is he home already? does he think he’s like a celebrity”. He laughed as he turned a corner. “Why did he run off”.
“Yo, that’s Agust D!” Taehyung replied “he was lit”.
“Jaebum, he lives like 10 minutes away, he probably just didn’t want to linger”.
“Still did he have to zoom out”
The kids continue to laugh as you pulled up to a house. It had a fresh green grass and roses all along the side.
You weren’t sure what you were expecting for Yoongis house, but a white picket fence wasn’t it. Didn’t Hoseok say he was at an after party, why was it so quiet. All you saw was a light through the windows.
“Taehyung, since you’re his biggest fan you go up”
“What, why you’re his friend”
“Is this even his house” Jungkook asked “I thought there was a party”.
“I know me too” You replied.
“Go, Tae” you said once more. Jaebum parked the car in front of the house across the street.
“I’ll go Jimin said. “I’ll go…” Jimin didn’t finish his sentence. You were confused with his words, why did he sound so nervous. You turned around in your seat to see him staring at his hands in his lap.
“I’ll go” he repeated, more to himself.
“Okay…then go” Tae said furrowing his eyebrows.
Jaebum started to laugh, “Yo man, are you okay?”
“I’ll go!”
“Then GO!” Jungkook said pushing his side.
“I’ll go” Jimin said again.
“I’ll-”
Jimin looked up with his eyes tightly closed.
“Jimin” you began “are you-”
“I’ll GO FOR A KISS”. Jimin shouted and caused everyone to look at him. Your eyes went wide, Taehyungs jaw dropped.
“ll go for a kiss” Jimin said once more, quietly this time. “A kiss, I’ll go”.
He slowly opened his eyes and looked directly at you.
Oh hell no.
Before you can even protest Jimin gets up and plants a kiss on your forehead.
“OH man Holly –“
“What the h-”
And Taehyungs laughter is all you hear as you felt your cheeks flush red and warmth swept all over your body. At that point, Jimin dashed out the car and ran up to the door.
You turned around in you seat, “Shut up” you said, as the kids all laughed.
You felt yourself sink lower in your seat. Why was Jimin so cute?
“Hey, Hey” Jungkook said trying to contain his laughter, “he’s waving at us”.
You looked out to see Jimin waving at you guys.
“Come on let’s just go” you said trying to get away from their jeering.
As you got closer you slowed your steps until Jungkook was next to you, you quickly shuffled behind him not wanting to face Jimin alone.
“Yo man” Jungkook said as he slapped Jimins shoulder laughing. You quickly pushed past them both, as Jimin was distracted with Jungkook, and entered the house to see the girl Yoongi was with sitting on the floor with a cup in her hand. You heard low music playing and a lava light in the corner. Where you at someone’s parents’ house? Why was everything so clean and normal looking. You were expecting one old couch with weed reeking out the walls, but everything was…normal?
“Ha, so you made it” You looked down to see Hoseok laying on the floor in front of the couch.
“Yeah, I did” you said awkwardly. What kind of party was this?
You felt so out of place. This was obviously a let’s go home, listen to slow jazz, while we drink wine, and reminisce on our friendship kind of party.
“Hey, y/n” You heard Yoongi say as he come from around some corner. He was followed by Namjoon who looked to have just taken a shower. “Thanks for coming, what did you think of the show?”
“It was great, good job!” you told him, earning a smile “You were all great” you continued saying, taking your gaze to meet Namjoons who only grinned showcasing his dimples.
You saw some girl come out of a room, that turned out to be the kitchen. She carried out a big bowl full of some garlic and shrimp pasta. What the hell was going on? You were obviously intruding.
“Umm, so I don’t mean to take much of your time” you said as you saw them all gather at the coffee table.
“No, No worries” Yoongi said.
“I just have my uhh… cousin who wanted a picture” you let out, remembering your lie. You heard Jungkook snicker behind you. Yoongi looked at you smiling as if he admired you.
“Right” he said slowly.
“Right” you said in a daze. gee, what a man.
“umm” so you said quickly, “So this is Jaebum” turning around and gesturing to him like a gameshow host. “He’s my cousin and this Is Taehyung, and Jimin, and Jungkook” Your purposely avoided Jimin’s glare. “They’re your fans and would like a picture”.
“Really?” Yoongi asked them.
“Yes really!”  You answered for them, “Both of you!” you quickly added remembering Namjoon.
“Wow, already more fans, baby” you heard the second girl who brought the pasta out say. “But don’t forget I’m your number one fan” she pinched Namjoons cheeks as she said this.
“Not anymore” you thought you heard Jungkooks whisper. You turn to him to seem him glaring at the girls hands on Namjoons face. You finally meet Jimins eyes only to telepathy communicate to each other that you both heard that.
“Thanks” Yoongi said, his smile growing larger. “Here, before all that,  why don’t you guys come and eat, we got plenty for everyone!” Yoongi said scouting over to a side.
“Sure thanks” Jung kook said before any of you can politely decline.
You saw as each of them made their way over to the small table. Jungkook took a place next to Namjoon and Taehyung squeezed himself next to Yoongi. Jimin and Jaebum simply seated themselves on the couch. Not wanting to be noticeable you followed suit.
“This is so embarrassing” you whispered to Jaebum
“You said they were your friends” Jaebum whispered back.
“No like that!” you protested.
“Seokjin! Bring out more plates and sodas, we got company” Hoseok shouted. Hoseok said. Hoseok singed. Hoseok verbally articulated those beautiful words. Seokjin.
Seokjin.
Seokjin was here.
Seokjin was in this house.
You were going to see Seokjin.
You were going to hear Seokjin.
You were going to breathe Seokjin
You were going to meet Seokjin
Seokjin.
 He walked in with mismatched plates. He placed them on the table. He walked out and came back with a couple bottles of soda after having counted the new guest. He walked back out and came back with a fruit bowl. He came back with a chair and placed it off the side of the coffe table sitting directly infront of you. You saw as he got himself a blue medium sized plate and served himself a large amount of the pasta. He begins eating as he placed the plate on his lap and took out a set of chopsticks and a fork from his gray sweater. You saw him eat away happily. You thought you heard him making pleasing noise as he swallowed every bite deliciously. He kept on eating laughing occasionally as the others joked. You did the same you didn’t even realize you had a plate set up for you, be it from you own hands on auto pilot or Jaebum who served you. You took a bit from your food not taking your eyes off of the way Seokjins eyes crinkled.
The pasta hit you taste buds. It was delicious.
“Wow…this is good!” You exclaimed out loud. You didn’t mean to, but as soon as the “wow” came out you thought it would be too awkward to stop there.
You looked up to see Seokjin staring at you. His eyes meet yours.
“Thanks!” he said. You couldn’t even see his lips form those words as your eyes were captured by his stare. You couldn’t look away not when you held eye contact with Seokjin after he directed his word towards you. He knew you.
He now knows who you are.
He knows the color of your eyes and the features of you face. He knows the sound of your voice and the way you munch your food. He knows you like this taste. And given the fact that he said thanks, it seems that you are eating his food. Seokjin made this?
You are eating Seokjin’s food.
Suddenly the food taste so much better. You greedily took another mouthful of the pasta as Seokjin directed his attention back to the group.
This time you made sure to savior the taste. The way the creamy sauce slid down your throat.
You looked at Seokjin to see him looking at you curiously. He then looked at Jaebum sitting next to you.
“Who are you guys?” he asked confidently. “I don’t think I’ve seen you before”.
Your face reddens. This is your time to give him your name. For him to put  a name to your face.
“I’m Taehyung” Taehyung said from the floor.
“I’m Jimin”
“I’m Jungkook”.
“ Jaebum”
Your turn.
“Hi, I’m __”.
The girls said Hi after every name. Seokjin nodded after you gave all your names.
“I’m Seokjin” He said.
The rest introduced themselves properly.  There was only an awkward moment as everyone tried to connect the dots on how you all ended up eating pasta together tonight.
Yoongi spoke up, “I know ___ from this poetry class I had. I recently ran up to her the other day and she told me she was interested in rapping”. He said the word, “rapping” as a question. You didn’t look like the rapping type whatever that was, but then again, neither did Namjoon.
“Yeah” you piped up continuing your lie.
“Yeah, so I told you I’ll introduce you to some people” Yoongi turned to Namjoon. “This is Namjoon he produces the beats with me he’s also a good lyricist. I trust him with everything”. He turned to Hoseok, “Hoseok here is learning too, He’s really improving, you guys can learn together!” He said with fake enthusiasm as he smirked at Hoseok.
Hoseok ignored him and said “Yeah, I’m planning on releasing a mixtape soon”.
Namjoon snorted “Soon, when’s that for you? In ten years”.
The group chuckled slightly. Obviously, some inside joke. You saw as Jungkook and Taehyung also laughed. How embarrassing.
The room went silent, so you thought you should speak up.
“Umm yeah... I was thinking of…maybe, I’m not sure yet” You added not wanting to commit to anything yet. You were only here for Seokjin. “You guys performed great! I’m so glad I came”.
“Thanks” Namjoon and Yoongi said in unison.
“But yeah” you continued “I brought my cousin with me, Jaebum, and his friends came too”.
“Ahh, right” Yoongi said “You guys wanted a picture?” he asked shyly. Cute.
“Yeah, that’ll be great” Taehyung said, obviously more accepting to your lie after meeting his newfound idols.
The boys all got up and placed themselves next to Yoongi and Namjoon who stood up and posed.
You got up and took out your phone to use your phone camera.  You and the girls all took pictures and counted down telling the boys to pose this way and that way.
It was enduring to see Yoongis and Namjoons smiles as they posed with their new fans.
After you were all done taking pictures and you heard Jungkook asking for Namjoons twitter handle and soundcloud, you turned around to sit back on the coach, but you bumped into Seokjin.
“Sorry” you both said.
You saw how Seokjin was taking pictures of the boys, looking like a proud father.
Was he behind you the whole time taking pictures?
Did he smell you? Did you smell nice? Was your hair greasy? How did your body look? Did you look flattering from behind?
You sat down with a pout annoyed with being taken off guard. As you all settled down Seokjin begin to clean up the area.
“Ayy can I just crash here?’ Hoseok asked.
“On the couch” Yoongi replied to him.
“It’s okay Hoseok” Seokjin said “you can stay in my room”.
So, they all lived together besides Hoseok.
“Thanks, I wasn’t looking forward to Namjoon’s late night juice breaks”
“what is that supposed to mean?’ Namjoon asked confused.
“Where are you going?” __ (yoongi stans) asked
“Me? I’m gonna go and take a look” Seokjin said. He stood and crossed his arms looking at the group as if he was prepared for attacks.
And attacks did come.
“Again?”
“Dam are you for real?”
“take a look at what?”
“It’s his hunting”
“He’s patrolling the area, show him some respect”
“He’s protecting us”
“Your going to get hurt some day bro”
“Stop going alone”
“You’re so wirde”
“This is a bad idea”
Yoongi turned to Taehyung and whispered “This guy believes in aliens”
 ...Aliens?
“Hey stop it” Seokjin shouted.
“First” He begin holding out a finger.
“I know what I’m doing”
“Second” He held out a second finger. He turned to look at Jimin who was the closet to him.
“Yes, I believe in Alien’s, so I’m going to go look for them. I do this at least once a month. I have done my research I know what to look for and what precautions to take”.
“Thirdly” another finger “I have been doing this for 2 years now after reading a journal entry of extraterrestrial life. You can say I began my research from then on. And lastly nothing you can say will change my mind. I am looking out for aliens because I believe they are around us”.
“Four months ago, I saw a UFO over the trees down by the Myo forest. I’ve been going there since to see if I can see them again. I wasn’t able to capture an image or sound of it but now I am more prepared and alert”.
Seokjin said all this as red color began to slowly take over his face. He was confident in his belief, but he was aware of all the different reactions he could get. His friends knew him, but he wasn’t sure of what the new people would say or if they would ridicule him.
Namjoon giggled to himself the whole time while Hoseok looked at all the boys face trying to guess their reactions. Yoongi had his fist clenched with an emotionless face. He looked ready to fight anyone who would speak against his friend.
“And before any of you ask, no you cannot come with me, I don’t need a science lesson following me”.
“What!” Namjoon said defensively “I was just letting you know. I also believe in life outside our own universe, but we also need to look at facts and calculate the probability of them hanging around our solar system”.
Seokjin looked at him.
“Okay well I’m going to go get ready” he said as he disappeared into the hallway.
The room was silent for a third time.
You didn’t even know how to react. Believing in aliens wasn’t a big deal but the way that his friends were silent and how defensive and red Seokjin has gotten makes it all suspicious.
Was Seokjin some obsessed crazy alien believer?
“So how much does he believe in aliens?” Jaebum said.
You didn’t know if you should slap him or thank him for asking.
“Uhh a lot, I mean he’s not crazy!” Namjoon said shaking his head.
“Almost there” Hoseok whispered.
“Almost there” Jimin repeated out loudly.
“Hey, its not that bad” Yoongi said with a sigh.” He believes in them passionately he’s not some crazy person”.
You saw as they all kind of looked at each other and chuckled to themselves. Even Jaebum was shaking his head. Undoubtedly there were all thinking that Seokjin was on the verge of lunacy.
You didn’t like this.
Why were they speaking so badly of Seokjin? They thought of him as a crazy person.
Seokjin wasn’t crazy. Maybe.
Either way you felt like you needed to defend your man.
“I believe in Aliens” you said strongly.
You honestly had no opinion for them.
Everyone looked at you. Since you looked like you were ready to fight.
“Me too” ___ (namjoon stan) said “but not the way Seokjin does”.
You were going to slap her.
“I wish I could go…alien…hunting” even to you, as you said the words, they sounded crazy.
Alien hunting.
“Go with Seokjin then” Hoseok challenged you.
You crouched back in your seat.
Yeah” Jeabeum said patting your shoulder, “maybe if you ask him he’ll let you go”.
As much as you wanted to be with Seokjin, you weren’t sure about being in a dark forest alone with him, when even his friend thought of him as borderline crazy looking for aliens.
“uhh I don’t know” you said “He looked like he likes to go alone I wouldn’t want to be a bother to him”
“I’m sure you won’t be” yoongi said encouragingly. Obviously not getting what you were trying to say.
Hoseok laughed at you.
“I’m sure he will, he seems like a nice guy” Jimin pushed. The group (besides Yoongi) picked up on your hesitation.
“You could come” a voice bellowed from the hallway.
You all turned to look at Seokjin standing in the hallway.
“You can come with me”. He smiled at you with determination.
He was obviously like Yoongi, thinking you were sincere.
Which you were. You would like to be with Seokjin, only you would like to be doing some other activity and not alien hunting.
“nah, I think she’s good” Jaebum answered for you.
“It’s too soon” Hoseok said.
They all looked worried now. They were all trashing you at first. They didn’t think Seokjin would agree and they didn’t want you going out with him at night in some forest. You both just meet. His friends didn’t know if you were crazy and your cousin didn’t know if he was trustworthy.
Seokjin walked up to you. He held out his hand at you.
“Let’s go” he said to you. He smiled and winked at you. And suddenly.
Suddenly.
The world was beautiful.
The world was okay.
You looked at his outstretched arm to his shoulder, up the sides of his neck, to his lips, his nose, and settled on his eyes. His eyes with genuine, filled with concern and admiration. That maybe he finally has someone who understands him. As much as his friends will fight for him he knew they didn’t get it, but maybe you did. He wanted to believe that.
You wanted to believe that.
“Okay” you said as you took hold of his hand. Your mind didn’t register the “OOs” coming from the kids nor the protest of his friends.
You shyly held onto his hand and felt your smile appear.
You were going with Seokjin. You were holding Seokjin’s hand.
He knows your name.
He knows your face.
He held out his hand for you. He smiled at you. He asked you to go with him.
To the forest. At night. Alone
To go alien hunting.
The SDRA2 Crew stumbles upon a strange blog that appears to be writing about them in strange situations! How do they react? (Choose your three favorite imagines from any SDRA2 imagine blog and write the crew reacting to them)
This one has been sitting in the ol inbox for the longest. Only because I couldn’t freaking think of anything! I’m super sorry, nonnie! But your long awaited post is here!
“Ow! Hey!” Called one voice, “Stop shoving me!” Called another filled with anger. “Why are we all here?” A bitter voice said, standing out in the group. “I’m n-not s-sure..M-Mikado w-wanted to s-show is something..” A shy voice mumbled, it belonging to none other than Iroha Nijiue. “Show us something? It better be worth it, and if I get shoved one more time, I will start biting all of you!” Nikei yelled out in anger, his eye twitching from annoyance. “S-Sis! D-do you think h-he has something p-planned..?” Kanade asked, lightly squeezing the older sisters hand. Hibiki looked over her shoulder wii a bright smile, shaking her head. “No, I’m sure he doesn’t! And if he does, we can take him!”
“I don’t trust this, not one bit.” Yokuro stated, with a small frown on her face. Crossing her arms over her chest with a small huff. “A..At the very least, it wouldn’t hurt to see what this is all about, right? If it’s bad, we can always leave and be on with our day.” Yuki stated quite loudly, to calm the chatter from amongst the group. “You do have a point, Yuki..but where is he?” Sora questioned with glancing around the cafeteria, but there wasn’t sign of the magician.
“Who knows, but if he doesn’t show up soon I know I’m leaving.” Syobai grunted, with his hands shoved deep into his pockets. Looking as if he had rudely woken up, which probably was the case in all honesty. “We’ve been here for about ten minutes or so, maybe he forgot?” Commented Emma, with a slight puzzled expression herself. Kokoro only shook her head in response to Emma’s comment. Taking a moment, before speaking herself.
“It’s..unlikely, Sannoji knows fully well what he is doing. If I had to take a guess..he’s most likely is waiting to see whether or not if were going to leave.” Kokoro sighed, pushing up her glasses to the bridge of her nose. “Aww, why must you ruin my fun, Koko?” The one and only magician Mikado Sannoji pouted, poking his head through the ceiling. Not to worry, it wasn’t damage for he was using maaagic. Dropping through fully, only to land onto the table holding a laptop in his hand.
“Can we go now?” Nikei grumbled, crossing his arms over his chest adverting his gaze from looking at Mikado. “Now now, your in such haste to leave Mr. Yomiuri. You’re going to miss the most important thing of all!” There was slight mischief mixed with his tone as he placed the device onto the table, opening it up, showing the website that read, ‘Mumblr’ “Eh? Mumblr? I think I’ve heard of that site before.” Setsuka piped up, taking a small step closer for further inspection.
“Whatever it is, coming from you Mikado it’s bad news.” Boy, was Nikei radiating hatred towards the magician. Making the others confused as to why, from what they’ve seen. The two hadn’t interact as much, but looks can be deceiving. “Someone must have waken you up on the wrong side of the bed, Huh Nikei.” Hajime snickered slightly, lightly smacking the male on his back. Nikei flinched as a result, but calmed down rubbing his temple. “Probably, just didn’t get enough sleep last night. I was to busy writing my latest scoop until it was five in the morning.” He said, as if it was the most casual thing in the world.
“What?! You have to get at least eight hours of sleep!” Emma shook the journalist for a moment concern laced in her voice looking down at him. “I will tonight! I promise..!” Nikei has gotten dizzy from Emma’s shaking, but still able to give a proper response thankfully. “I’m going to hold you to that, Nikei.” Slowly, she stopped shaking him and flicked his hat. “Now that those two have gotten things settled, how about we check out some lovely things that I’ve found about us? It’ll be interesting for sure!” Mikado clapped his hands together.
His mask showing just how joyful he was to do this. “Eh? Go for it, I’m curious myself!” Teruya chimed, poking his head through to get a closer look at things. Mikado only laughed in response as he clicked the blog by the name of @imaginefanganronpas .
“Imagine fanganronpas? What’s a fanganronpa?” Hibiki asked, as the group slowly expanded around Mikado to each take a look at the computer. “Who knows, but I found something amazing, don’t you know! It’s called Despair Remnants Au! I can’t wait to read it!” Mikado took a moment, clearing his excellent reading voice and began reading.
“I-It’s about us t-turning e-evil and k-killing innocent p-people?! A-And I lost my eye?!” Iroha squeaked, clinging onto Sora our of pure fear. “Aw, I lose my tongue..? What a shame..” Mikado pouted not seeming to fazed by what he just had read. “I think I’m going to be sick..” Yokuro replied, looking away shaking her head. The thought of killing someone was who didn’t sit right with her stomach. Seeing how this person got her personality accurate, but..the killing..she would never do that, no matter what. She refused.
Yuki had a blue expression on his face, but Shinji’s gently placed a hand onto his shoulder squeezing it slightly. “Hey, it’s okay..little bro. It wasn’t real, only fake..you know as well as I that we wouldn’t do something like that. That goes for all of us, we wouldn’t ever hurt any innocent people, it’s just not who we are!” Shinji really was one of the people that brought happiness to the group. Keeping them maintained, Setsuka nodded her head in agreement. “Shinji’s right! We aren’t monsters, Big Sis knows knows as well as everyone else, that we would never do that. This is only like a spooky story! Halloween is right around the corner, ya know!”
That..managed to calm down the majority of them. “If that’s what you believe, I say it’s possible that it could or might have already happened and we just don’t remember it.” Syobai smirked, taking a hand out of his pocket scratching his chin. “But who knows, I might just be rambling, the point is. We all might be different in comparison to what we’re all acting like here.” It was simple, but enough to send chills down their spines. “Rei..Tsurugi..” The former merchant softly muttered, his eyes filled with sadness and worry.
“Don’t worry, Mr. Otori, I’m sure your companions are..safe.” Kokoro replied, looking at the merchant with a small nod of her head. “Is it just me, or is no one going to bring up that Emma and Kokoro kissed while blood was raining on them, Yokuro was with some person named Akane..and there was some guy named Utsuro?” Kanade suddenly spoke, for once without her usual stutter. Emma turned a faint shade of red, shaking her head and waved her hand for a moment.
“It was just a story, there isn’t a need to look into things, Ms. Kanade.” Mikado chuckled his mask changing expressions to one of pure happiness. “Now let’s move onto another one! I find this one to be quite..up lifting. At least, for those involved anyway. This next blog is called, @dra-and-sdra2-imagine-writer -writer . “This small tale is about, Nikei, Hajime, Emma, and Iroha. Oo, I can’t wait to read it for you all!” Nikei barely recovered from what was just read earlier. “Why was I with Yuri of all people?” The small Russian who had been silent for the majority of the time finally spoke, with a small glare thrown the journalist’s way. “As if I would like to be stuck with a despicable male such as you.” His tone was harsh, as usual when it came to men, so Nikei wasn’t all to fazed only sighing. “I should have expected that..”
After the two had gotten shushed by Teruya, Mikado has began reading about the four. Leaving out the parts relating them to being void members. In all sweetness, it was short but put a light hearted mood to the group. Those void members glancing at each other with a mix of surprise, yet slight happiness. “I-I liked it..” Iroha smiles warmly at the small story, Emma agreeing along with her. “As did I, I believed it showed just how close our bond is.”
“So you guys are like a small family, huh? That’s good to hear.” Sora spoke, with a soft sigh escaping from her. “I..um..liked it too.” Nikei softly mumbled, pulling his scarf up slightly to cover his face. It was easy to tell that he was happy about the small tale, even if he wouldn’t show it. “Same! It’s way different from what just listened to a few minutes ago!” Hajime grinned slightly at about it. “I figured as much, now onto the last-“ Mikado was cut off by Hibiki yoinking the computer away. “I wanna read one! I’ll find a good one! Oh! Look, this one is by @sdra2writer-imaginesandhcs s ! What this story is about..hmm..let’s see, ah! The SDRA2 boys as yanderes for their S/o? What’s a S/o?” Hibiki asked not being able to come up with the meaning. “S-significant other..” Kanade whispered to the older sibling before shrinking back into the group. “Oh! Well anyway, let’s get started!” And so, Hibiki begun reading.
Boy, was that something they weren’t expecting. The girls shuffled away, to depart themselves away from the boys. “Come on, we wouldn’t do that!” Shinji tried to reason with them. They weren’t having that, “Let’s before they can try and pull something! Look! Yuri’s already trying something!” Cried Hibiki and that was enough to get the girls running, Emma having to pick up Kokoro hurrying off. The guitarist snickered to herself, as she ran after them in their hurry.
Meanwhile, Yuri wasn’t even doing anything, at the very least just having his arms crossed. “This is going to take forever to convince them we aren’t yandere’s..” Nikei groaned, burying his face into his hand. “Perhaps, but it was a fun time reading, no?” Mikado asked, looking at the direction of the girls had ran off, before back to the boys. “For a first time, it was..pretty good!” There was a small thumbs up from everyone’s favorite big brother. “Y-Yeah, S-Shinji’s right..! Come on, let’s go and try to convince them that we aren’t like that! Who’s with me!” There was several yeah’s aside from Syobai who seemed pretty disinterested with the entire thing.
With Yuki leading them, they were off to change the female’s minds. The only one left was Mikado who chuckled to himself glancing around to see if he was the only one. Looking at the screen there was joyful wave. “I hope you’ve enjoyed~!”
The stories that were used was,
Vamp’s: Renmant Au, both male and female.
Mine: The Void family without Mikado included.
Annnnnd from Noir’s: Sdra2 boys as yandere HC’s
GH Christmas 2019 | one-shot collection
Tumblr media
~ pairing: Masako x John ~ word count: 2,150k ~ genre: holiday!fic
~ summary:  ❝ John & Masako hold a Christmas movie marathon at church and incidentally teach the children about mistletoe...of course they have to know if it works just like the movies <3 ❞
~ warnings: candy cane sweet fluff!...also, maybe some typos I didn’t catch ;) ~ note: the first in a series of 4 one-shots dedicated to my dear readers (happy holidays!)-- enjoy! <3
Silver Screen
Something brushed up against Masako's side, startling her. Masako glanced to her left. There, kneading the carpet and bumping it's head against her again, was the church's resident cat.
“Mittens,” a small voice cooed to Masako's right. A young child leaned over her lap, reaching for the cat.
Masako picked up the cat held it out to the child, “Here Mittens, see Yuri a minute.”
The little girl gently accepted the cat, peppering it's head with kisses. A chorus of “aww” and “so cute” rang out. Mittens was very popular with the children of the Holy Trinity Church.
“She likes you,” John remarked, looking from the group of children clustered around the cat, to Masako, and then down at the projector he was working on.
Masako stood, picking at her kimono. The rich pine color marred by orange fuzz.
“I like her too. If only she didn't leave behind so much hair.”
John looked up, a bright smile pulling at his lips.
“I meant Yuri. She normally has difficulty adjusting to strangers.”
Masako clasped her hands together, with a small shrug.
“I can't really be considered a stranger now. She's seen me every Friday for the past four weeks.”
Movie night. It had started as a one time thing. John had found an old projector in the church attic and invited Masako to join himself and the children in their little screening of Miracle on 34th Street. But after such a successful evening, Miracle on 34th Street turned into The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, and The Grinch Who Stole Christmas turned into It's A Wonderful Life, then finally-- just a few days before the holiday, they were to finish things off with A Christmas Carol.
John nodded,
“That's true.”
Masako wandered nearer to John, peering around him.
“Are you about done?”
John's blue eyes met Masako's dark one's with amusement,
“Almost. Why? Are you that excited for tonight's movie?”
“The kids are. Mittens will only be entertaining so long.”
“That's exactly what Sister Angela would say. You know them so well now. Ah, there--”
John powered on the projector and there was a collective squeal of excitement. The cat jumped free of Yuri's arms as half the children scrambled to their seats on a pile of pillows in front of the projector screen and a few ran for the light switches,
“I've got the lights, I got it--”
With a click the large playroom was suddenly awash in the warm glow of flickering candles and twinkling Christmas lights.
The hum of the projector and the tinny tone of the opening score filled the air and the children all settled down, eyes fixed on the screen. Except when someone was touching someone. Or the pillow was too lumpy. Or they wanted to hold Mittens. Sitting three kids apart at the back of the group, John and Masako worked in tandem. With practiced ease they separated bickering children, passed around snacks and then wet wipes for sticky hands and faces, quietly answered questions, held hands for comfort at any sad or scary parts. Yuri, who was particularly afraid of ghosts, sat herself on Masako's lap and refused to move through the entirety of A Christmas Carol.
Occasionally, Masako stole a glance over at John. One little girl had her head resting against his knee, and sleeping on his other-- Mittens. When John laughed the sound was bright, mixing with the giggles of the children around them. Masako smiled to herself, thinking how much she had enjoyed the last few weeks. As if he could feel her stare, John turned toward Masako. It was hard to tell her expression in the dim light and he gave her a slight questioning look, but she just shook her head and directed his attention back to the movie. But afterward, more than once, she caught him staring at her.
One hour and two bathroom breaks later, the credits rolled to a burst of applause. Little ones stood and stretched. Some, with antsy legs, began an impromptu game of chase. The ruckus in the room grew, until John spoke, asking his tiny audience what they thought of the movie. The children congregated around him again, eager to share their thoughts. It was more exciting than the other movies. Scrooge was a strange person. Yuri whispered to Masako that the ghost weren't that bad.
When someone started crying because they stubbed their toe, and another little boy nearly tripped on Mittens, Masako suggested the lights be turned on. The children raced to complete the task, nearly falling over their own feet. The switches were flipped and...pop! The twinkling Christmas lights went out.
In the dark of only candlelight someone shouted “ghosts!” and Masako felt her kimono clutched at by Yuri.
“Never mind, the ghosts were bad-- they were!”
Masako bent down to pat Yuri's head and reassure her as John ordered everyone to calm down and sit. After a head count, and a few repeated explanations that the lights going out were not ghosts, he excused himself to go see what the problem was, and get some flash lights if necessary. John paused at the door, glancing over at the medium, crouched down with Yuri clinging to her.
“Will you be alright with them?”
Masako summoned a confident look,
“Of course, go figure it out.”
John nodded, and stepped out the door. She couldn't tell because of the low light, but Masako swore he flashed her a smile as he went.
With John gone and the room so dark, the children huddled around the medium. Yuri made small whimpers. Masako pursed her lips, determined to live up to her confidence. Remembering hearing John do it once or twice, she softly began to hum. It wasn't any tune in particular, but Yuri's whimpers slowed as she listened.
“What's song is that?” a little boy at Masako's elbow asked.
“Yes, what is it? Can we hum it too?” a little girl begged, tugging on Masako's sleeve.
Yuri pulled her head away from Masako's shoulder and peered up at her, “Will it keep the ghosts away?”
“But didn't you hear Father John? There aren't any ghosts.”
“There are in that movie.”
“Yeah, that's right.”
“Uh-huh.”
“Please, what is the song?”
Masako looked down at Yuri thoughtfully, “What is your favorite Christmas song? Let's hum that.”
Yuri's small voice answered, “Away in a Manger.”
“Oh, I don't know that one. Can you show me?”
There were murmurs of agreement, and then somehow altogether, the children began to hum.
The humming quickly became singing and Masako found herself surrounded by a dozen tiny voices, no longer thinking of ghosts. Even Yuri stood a step back from Masako, doing her best to sing her favorite song well. Masako smiled a true smile, touched by such a scene.
On the final verse there was movement across the room and John's figure filled the doorway. Perfectly quiet, as to blend with the children, he joined in their singing. Masako turned her smile toward him and she saw the smile in his eyes shining back.
When the last notes faded, Masako was quick to praise, “That's my favorite song now too.”
Then the children noticed John and there was an out cry for answers: why was he gone for so long? Was he fighting ghosts?
Masako couldn't help but lock eyes with John at this question, a significant look passing between them, before he assured them yet again that this was not the work of Christmas ghosts.
“Let there be light,” John declared, flipping the light switch nearest him. One of the main overhead lights blazed bright.
The children cheered and quickly they flipped the other switches.
“It was just a blown fuse,” he explained to Masako as she was finally released by Yuri. The little girl bounded off, all her energy returning.
Masako then turned her attention to cleaning (snacks and pillows scattered), her feet dancing around kids and the cat, as John packed up the projector.
“That was pretty amazing.”
Masako glanced up from sweeping popcorn off the floor, “Hm?”
“You. With the kids. You really did great calming them down. The singing was nice.”
Feeling strangely shy under John's warm approval, Masako waved the compliment right back,
“What about you? You got the lights on. Priest. Ghost Hunter, and Handy Man.”
John grinned,
“All in a days work.”
Once finished, John announced that there was a bedtime treat waiting for the children, courtesy of kind Hara-san, and then it was time for teeth brushing and bed.
There was more cheering at the mention of a treat and the children scrambled to follow John and Masako out to the kitchen, but then, as a group, stopped short suddenly.
Masako blinked and stared back at them, worry nagging at her, but someone giggled almost immediately.
“What is it?” John asked, giving the children a wondering look.
A dozen innocent fingers pointed up, above John and Masako's heads. Masako's eyes widened.
Mistletoe?
“You know we've been watching those movies,” a little girl spoke up, her hands holding her face prettily, “and they always have that stuff.”
“The girls wanted it,” a boy cut in, making a face, “that kissy stuff. They wanted to see if it worked.”
One of the girls elbowed the boy, protesting that it wasn't just their idea.
“It's called mistletoe,” John corrected patiently, his attention on the children, but Masako's stolen look showed her that John's cheeks were just as pink as hers were, “Where did you find it?”
“Sister Angela got it out of the attic for us after the last movie night,” Yuri answered with glee. Gone was the shy girl.
“Well it doesn't matter, does it? It's not working,” the boy from earlier spoke, jabbing his finger at John and Masako, “they didn't kiss.”
“That's not true,” Yuri protested, “this is the first time they're both under it. The Christmas Magic just hasn't kicked in yet.”
Christmas Magic...?
Several sets of eyes stared up at John and Masako-- some hopeful, some skeptical.
Why did the kids have to be so precious?
Why did they have to wish for something so impossible?
Realizing they had allowed the kids to runaway with such ideas too long, Masako opened her mouth, about to remind them all of the delicious treats just waiting in the next room...when John slowly turned and faced her.
Following his lead, Masako turned also-- searching for some sign of his master plan.
How were they going to get out of this and not ruin Christmas Magic for a dozen children?
If they weren't careful they were both about to become a couple of Scrooges.
But what Masako found as she studied John was only that his hair was more tousled than usual, still slightly wet from the snow that fallen on him on his trip to the fuse box, and that the blue Christmas sweater he was wearing (the one the kids had made him) really did match well with his eyes...
Those blue eyes bore straight into hers. Reading his expression, it seemed to say, if you can't beat them...
Masako's heart beat thickly.
So, there was the master plan. John had decided to humor the children.
Softie.
Anticipating a chaste kiss to the forehead or cheek, Masako played along, eyes fluttering shut, firmly ignoring the odd sensation of what felt like dancing butterflies in her stomach.
The floor board creaked and Masako was aware of John stepping into her space...bringing with him the scent of some holiday soap, and whatever that light cologne he always wore was.
Masako's did stomach did a flip.
Maybe it wasn't butterflies dancing...but sugar plum fairies?
Absently, Masako felt something brush by her legs, and then in the next instant-- something was pressed to her lips. It was soft and it...tickled?
Masako's eyes flew open.
Orange fur.
Masako blinked in surprise. She was staring at the resident church cat, held up by John, who's face hovered just inches away. John peered around the cat, catching her eye with his sparkling ones.
She hadn't kissed John, she had kissed Mittens. Genuine laughter escaped Masako's lips, her eyes sparkling back at John.
Uproarious noise burst out as the children joined in, hooting and hollering. She had kissed the cat! Was that how it was supposed to work?
Suddenly several hands were waving at John, simultaneously begging for Mittens and shooing he and Masako away from the doorway, “My turn, my turn! I want to try!”
Christmas Magic, ghosts, and bedtime treats were forgotten in the face of kitty kisses.
“I just love mistletoe, let's put it up every year!” Yuri declared as Mittens was dumped into her waiting arms.
No longer wanted, and with the children so happily preoccupied...John and Masako took this chance to quietly slip off to the kitchen, sharing in a Christmas cookie or two.
Bookshelf Briefs 3/28/20
The Ancient Magus’ Bride, Vol. 12 | By Kore Yamazaki | Seven Seas – I’m still really enjoying reading The Ancient Magus’ Bride, but there’s no denying that it’s become almost a totally different manga from where it started, even if it does bring back a few guilt-ridden special guests. Chise is all grown up and now has grown-up problems, albeit grown-up student problems. We continue to worry away at labels—what is a bride, what is a daughter, etc.—which makes sense given that this is a world of magic, where names and relationships carry far more importance than they otherwise might. And we even get to have an old-fashioned camping trip, though unfortunately that ends up going very badly for Lucy, who suffers the cliffhanger ending. Still top tier, but very different. – Sean Gaffney
Black Clover, Vol. 20 | By Yuki Tabata | Viz Media – This long arc STILL isn’t over, but we do get a few good highlights, as with any good Jump title. The start has “my dreams become reality” magic, which ends up leading to a fun confrontation between the real, possessed person and their fake, good other self. Gauche and Marie are still possessed by elves, and their relationship remains fascinating both despite and because of that. And, in the final chapter, we get a revelation about Charmy that makes sense and is also completely hilarious—let’s face it, we just assumed she was superdeformed because it was funny. But it looks like it’s her appetite more than her size that’s needed here. This is meat-and-potatoes Jump, never great but usually decent. – Sean Gaffney
Blood on the Tracks, Vol. 1 | By Shuzo Oshimi | Vertical Comics – I wasn’t a fan of Oshimi-sensei’s Flowers of Evil, but the psychological suspense aspect of Blood on the Tracks appealed to me so much that I gave his work another try, and I’m glad I did! Seiichi Osabe is a meek thirteen-year-old who learns from his cousin Shigeru that other family members think his mother is overprotective. Throughout this first volume, Shigeru repeatedly draws Seiichi away from his mother’s side, culminating in a potentially deadly incident during a family hiking trip. The best part, though, is how expertly Oshimi cultivates an ominous atmosphere. From the first panel, Seiko’s control over her son is emphasized and a sense of foreboding pervades every scene, from her creepy facial caresses to a wordless pair of pages in which Seiichi blankly watches his mother vacuum. By the end, it’s finally obvious to Seiichi that something is very wrong. I’m looking forward to volume two! – Michelle Smith
Can an Otaku Like Me Really Be an Idol!? | By Wacoco Waco | KUMA – Takumi Suzuki is an otaku in his second year of high school who’s been crushing on his classmate, Misaki Hayakawa, ever since the entrance ceremony. After Suzuki discovers that Hayakawa is a fan of the same idol group he is, Hayakawa attempts to secure his silence by taking compromising photos of him cross-dressing as an idol. Turned on, Suzuki forces himself on Hayakawa and later agrees to try to become a real idol as a way of making up for his criminal deed. Obviously, the consent issue here is concerning, but I was gratified that Suzuki takes it seriously, and Hayakawa later says he would’ve been the aggressor if given the chance. Mostly, this is the story of two guys getting to pursue the thing they love with the person they love. Some parts are kinda wholesome. Some parts SUPER AREN’T. – Michelle Smith
The Conditions of Paradise | By Akiko Morishima | Seven Seas – This author has been long awaited in coming over here, and this is a collection of some of her stories from Comic Yuri Hime. The main story, which gets the cover, has a woman who has a structured life and her best friend and not-quite girlfriend, who is a freelancer in all senses of the word. They’ve known each other since school, and getting together feels both natural and right. The other stories also deal with relationships between adult women—the only high school seen is in a flashback—and that’s the selling point here. We’ve seen more of these manga lately with actual adults in yuri relationships. It hasn’t gotten old yet. This doesn’t feel as groundbreaking as it might have in Japan, but it’s still very good. – Sean Gaffney
Love Me, Love Me Not, Vol. 1 | By Io Sakisaka | VIZ Media – Love Me, Love Me Not is Io Sakisaka’s most recent series and features two co-heroines, something I don’t think I’ve seen since NANA. Yuna Ichihara is a shy, innocent girl who dreams of a destined, fairy tale love. Her new friend Akari Yamamoto thinks it’s possible to will yourself to fall in love with a boy who is available. They’ve just started high school and already they have romantic upheaval. Yuna has fallen in love with Akari’s princely brother Rio (which worries Akari since Rio is notoriously only interested in girls’ looks) and Akari’s been dumped by the boyfriend she thought loved her. She ends up confiding in Kazuomi Inui, Yuna’s childhood friend whom Akari hoped to set up with Yuna but who seems to have other ideas. Despite this synopsis, it’s not too melodramatic… until a reveal in the final pages. I’m already hooked. – Michelle Smith
The Quintessential Quintuplets, Vol. 8 | By Negi Haruba | Kodansha Comics – The start of this series had a lot of quintuplet-swapping antics, but it died down as Futaro got to know the others better. That changes here, as the majority of the book takes place on a trip to a hot spring he wins for his family… a hot spring that it turns out is run by the quintuplets’ grandfather, and they’re all there as well. What’s more, because of plot, they’re ALL dressed as Itsuki. What follows is mistaken identity shenanigans galore, showing off that Futaro still can’t guess which is the correct girl (which means he’s not ready to romance one) but also showing one of the quintuplets giving him a kiss… and we see in a flashforward it’s the bride. Who is the bride? Well, we have six volumes to go there. – Sean Gaffney
Snow White with the Red Hair, Vol. 6 | By Sorata Akiduki | Viz Media – Shirayuki and Yona may both have red hair, but it has to be said that Shirayuki is a more traditional heroine. Not that Yona doesn’t get captured as well from time to time, but the kidnapping here feels a lot more traditional. It also feels the prince riding to rescue her, which surprised me, as I thought we would continue the tradition of “he has to stay behind and be a prince.” We do get to see Kiki kicking ass, though I wish she’d finally get a storyline of her own. This series does a good job balancing its politics, romance and action sequences, and it actually does the commendable job of making me remember who the minor cast members are, always a danger. I’m still very happy this finally got picked up. – Sean Gaffney
Notes From the 2019 Myanimelist.net Challenges - Part 2: Manga
This post will be talking about the Manga Reading Challenge. As with Part 1, this post will be talking about some of my favorite manga I read for this challenge, as well as some others I had thoughts about.
Let’s do this.
Honorable Mentions/Other Notables:
My Girlfriend’s a Geek - completed for the task “Read a comedy or Slice of Life manga”
Tumblr media
College student Taiga mainly wants two things: money and a hot older girlfriend. When Taiga applies for a part-time job, he falls right away for his senpai, Yuiko. They eventually get to know each other. When Taiga asks Yuiko to be his girlfriend, she has a confession: she’s a fujoshi. Not knowing what that means, Taiga says he doesn’t care what she is and they get into a relationship.
I thought this was heartwarming and funny at times (reminded me of when I had to tell my mom what yaoi meant - don’t ask), but I feel like the premise kinda wore thin after a while and some of the jokes fell flat near the end.
If I had to pick, this would be the Worst of the Challenge this year.
Arisa - completed for the task “Read a manga with less than 10,000 completed members”
Tumblr media
Tsubasa and Arisa are twin sisters who haven’t seen each other in a while. Tsubasa has a reputation of being a fighter and has mainly guy friends. Arisa is more of a girly girl and is the popular girl in her class. Tsubasa just wants to be more like Arisa. When they reconnect one day, Arisa suggests, for fun, that Tsubasa take her place at school for one day. Tsubasa later learns some dark serets about Arisa’s school life and plans to get to the bottom of things.
This may look shoujo-y, but is more of a psychological mystery/thriller, which I like. Generic at times, but fun. I feel like the ending had some problems, though.
Othello - completed for the task “Read a manga ranked below #1000 in the database”
Tumblr media
Yaya is shy, naive, trusting, and afraid to speak up for herself, which makes her an easy target. Her “friends” are huge dicks, call her names like “Yaya the cry-ya”, and take advantage of her and play pranks on her. She has a crush on a classmate, she dreams of being a singer, she cosplays occasionally; pretty average things.
Little does anyone - including Yaya herself - know, she has a split personality who is Yaya’s opposite in every way. Nana is loud, bold, brash, fashionable, and not afraid to speak up and dispense justice against Yaya’s “friends.”
This manga was actually pretty fun. I was worried it would be kinda repetitive from the first volume or two (Yaya gets tricked --> Nana comes out and dispenses justice --> Yaya’s crush is curious, etc.), but it got a little deeper into some of Yaya’s psyche. Seeing Nana dispense justice was also pretty fun, even though it could be a little unrealistic at times.
Hana and Hina After School - completed for the task “Read a manga with a cast consisting of mostly one gender”
Tumblr media
Hana and Hina are two girls working a part-time job at a toy store. Hana is small and shy. Hina is tall, fashionable, and secretly a model on the side. They get off on the wrong foot at first, but they eventually become friends. Since their school doesn’t allow part-time jobs, they help each other keep their secret and their feelings eventually grow past friendship.
This manga was ADORABLE!!!
I find it good to read yuri/shoujo ai written by a woman rather than a man. The progression of their relationship, while seeming a little fast, was so nice to see. So pure, cinnamon rolls too good for this world. Especially when the manga shows each girl laying in bed thinking about how cute the other one is. A heartwarming ending as well.
Beach Stars - completed for the task “Read a Sports or Games manga”
Tumblr media
Nanase Iruka is a short tomboy who loves volleyball. When her school’s volleyball club is shut down, Iruka is pretty upset. When her club-mates try to cheer her up, Iruka discovers beach volleyball. She forms a beach volleyball club at her school with a goal of winning against the local volleyball champion.
A bit fanservice-y at times, but I had fun with this one. It was fun to see Iruka and her friends compete and succeed. I also liked the growing friendship of a couple freshmen who come into the story several chapters in.
Favorites from the Challenge:
Koi Dano Ai Dano - completed for the task “Read a prequel/sequel to a manga that you’ve already read”
Tumblr media
The cast from The Secret Notes of Lady Kanoko is back, and now they’re in high school!
Kanoko and Tsubaki are now attending the same high school. They end up getting recruited into their school’s newspaper club by one of their senpais. Kanoko becomes the Chief Strategist and helps the club out in their rivalry against other clubs, including the Broadcasting Club. Also, Kanoko is oblivious to Tsubaki’s growing crush on her.
Pretty much everything I liked about Lady Kanoko makes an appearance here. I still love Kanoko. She has a good head on her shoulders. These characters are not typical shoujo characters. I also love Tsubaki and Kanoko’s chemistry together. Comedy, romance, and a little suspense. Good mix.
The Embalmer - completed for the task “Read a manga serialized in a josei magazine”
Tumblr media
Mamiya is an embalmer, a profession treated with disdain in Japan. He seems okay with being an outcast, though. Throughout the manga, we learn why he chose his career, what goes through his mind, and stories from his job.
This manga really made me think. I did not know until now that embalming wasn’t really appreciated everywhere as it is in the US. I honestly did not expect this (pretty sad at times) meditation on love, loss, and grief, but I appreciate it all the same.
Annarasumanara - completed for the task “Read a manhua or manhwa”
Tumblr media
There are rumors in town of a magician at a tent in the abandoned theme park. He always starts his show by asking “Do you believe in magic?”
Yoon Ah-ee, a student who is living in poverty, has a chance encounter with this magician that changes her life forever.
The art in this one is pretty unique and cool. The plot was very interesting and the characters had some depth. This is another manga from the challenge that made me think. Thumbs up.
Alice 19th - completed for the task “Read a manga by a female author/artist”
Tumblr media
Alice has always been jealous of her older sister, Mayura. Mayura is good at everything she does and is popular at school. Alice is bullied at school and is afraid to stand up for herself. She also has a crush on Kyo, who starts dating Mayura.
One day, Alice encounters a bunny, who turns out to be a magical girl named Nyozeka. Nyozeka tells Alice that she is destined to learn the Lotis Words and become a Lotis Master. When Mayura disappears during an argument with Alice, Alice becomes determined to learn the Lotis Words and get her sister back.
This manga was great. I feel like this should get an anime adaptation. The art is great. The story is pretty cool, with magic focusing on words being something I hadn’t read before, or at least in a while. It’s pretty shoujo-y, but not too cliche.
Kasane - completed for the task “Read a manga that started serialization before 2015″
Tumblr media
Kasane Fuchi has inherited her actress mother’s talent, but not her good looks. No one will give her a chance because she is so ugly. Fortunately for her, she has something her mother left her: a lipstick that allows her to swap faces with whoever she kisses for 12 hours.
One day, a talent agent who knew her mother ropes her into being the body double for Nina Tanazawa, a struggling actress. Things go downhill from there.
This wins Best of the Challenge this year on the manga side for me. This manga blew my mind a few times while I was reading it. The story is interesting and unpredictable with plenty of twists and turns. Everyone basically crosses the Moral Event Horizon at some point. An interesting psychological manga. Highly recommended.
Gekidan Altair: Decision of the New Members!
Here comes Gekidan Altair 15th Short Story~
You can read Gekidan Altair’s short story 1 to 5 translated by Rai, so please, don’t hesitate to read their wonderful translations, and to thank and cheer on them ♥
Writer: Seki Ryouko (twitter)
Source: AnimateTimes
Translator: Eydol (twitter)
Tumblr media
[Summary]
The auditions are over, and finally, the new members entering Gekidan Altair are decided. The restless current members are checking the profile of the successful applicant without delay...
 [Story]
Just after that Tatsuhiko opened the door of the meeting room, Yousuke, who was on the watch, stood up suddenly.
“You came, Tatsu~!”
It wasn’t only Yousuke.  All Algeki members were gathered and everyone was observing Tatsuhiko with an interested expression.
“Everyone, sorry for making you wait.”
“Seriously, I was tired to wait.”
Touma said without shame and laughed.
“Good work, Tatsuhiko! Then… Had it been decided?”
Tatsuhiko nodded to Rintaro’s interrogation.
“Yes, they decided the new members. From now, I’ll show you their profiles.”
“Ooh~!”
Unanimously, delightful voices rose.
“Finally, I wonder who was chosen. It’s a pleasure!”
“Itsuki, that’s good. As expected, I also wanted to be an examiner.”
“It’s okay. One day, Tomte will also guide you, Touma.”
“Eh, well…”
“Let’s chat after, please, hurry and show us, Tatsuhiko.”
With Hijiri’s urging voice, Tatsuhiko took out files from the tote bag on his shoulder, then spreaded the documents on the meeting place desk.
“The new members are those 7 persons.”
Leaning towards the desk, all the members paid attention to the documents.
“Ugh!”
“It’s Nobuaki.”
The first voices to rise were Izumo’s and Ritsu’s.
“Aaah… That guy, he seriously passed it…”
“Nobuaki is amazing.”
“This Azabu Nobuaki is an acquaintance of yours, Izumo, Ritsu?”
With a fed up face, Izumi picked the documents to Maki who was tilting his head:
“Look at the history career written here.”
“Transfered from Tsukipro Child actors department… Aaah, I see.”
“On the day of the audition, he contacted me and said “take care of me” because he was absolutely passing.”
Ritsu looked shy and exchanged a knowing smile with Izumo.
“Eh, it’s an amazing confidence.”
“I’ve blocked him right away.”
“...No, Izumo. Whatever the circumstances may be, it’s horrible.”
“Maki, you can’t say things like that when you don’t know his annoying positive thinking!”
 “Ah, this person!”
Rintaro’s surprised voice rose, and he pointed at the document.
“Please look, Itsuki. Kuramae Kazuki remains...!”
“Ah, really! That’s good, right, Rin.”
“By any chance, is it the one you said he applied because he admires Rin?”
“Right, right.”
“At this moment, I was really surprised…”
“Take care of him, Rin~”
“Yes!”
 “Ah, when Touma came with the documents, there was a precise selected person remaining. Err… Komagome Taiki?”
“Waw… He had such a feeling…”
“? What’s happening? By any chance, is he an acquaintance?
Hearing Itsuki’s question, Touma shook his head with all his strength.
“No no no! Never! No way! He isn’t!”
“Really…?”
 “Hey, Itsuki. The ascending model you were talking about, it’s that guy?”
“Ah, yes yes. Nagano Tatsuya. Hijiri, do you know him?”
“No… Likewise, even if I see his face, he doesn’t remind me someone. So it means that until now, he doesn’t have exposure.”
“Hijiri is harsh like always. But I’m a bit worried for him. He can feel close things around.”
“Ah? Close things, like Yuri…?”
“What do you mean? Don’t tell us this guy is a newcomer fairy…?”
Sakuya and Izumi exchanged glances quietly, and Yuri smiled with significance even more.
“Fufufu. It will be great to be able to meet him.”
“Stop it! It’s scary when you laugh!”
 “Hey, hey, I’m very interested by this guy!”
Saying that, Yousuke picked up one document.
“Look, he’s a former stunt man! Amazing!”
“Aah, Morishita Shozo? Certainly it seems he will get along with you.”
“Seriously? If Tatsu says it, I will expect it!”
 “Well, are you interested by someone, Mikado?”
Rintarou brought the subject in a casual manner, and thinking a bit, Mikado answered “That’s right” and pointed a document.
“This guy, Ryogoku Junpei. There’s a little feeling of enthusiasm. This honesty is pure, I’m interested.”
“Really? Let me see. Inside, he seems relatively simple, his special skills are kendo and violin and… There are a lot! He has the smell of the gently celeb!”
“To, Touma, Touma.”
“I see. It’s possible that his facial expression gives an effect and can be such a factor. If he could relax a bit, it would be good.”
While taking a good look at the documents, the chat kept being noisy.
(New members, huh?)
Observing the high spirited members, Tatsuhiko let out a tiny sigh.
Currently, they were 12 members. With the 7 person joining, they will be 19 in total. As a Tsukipro’s unit, they will be a large family group.
(If the number of people increases, then various things will increase too, huh?)
Serious things, and of course, fun things too.
(But, well, even if I worry before it starts, it can’t be helped. I should act right now without overthinking after all, that’s an important thing I learned.)
It was possible that the him from last year would complain “the leader bears a lot of responsibilities” to Yousuke.
a/n: I am hoping you guys will accept this long Jungkook one shot that I created as an apology for not updating in so long. I have finished all my college finals and have a bit more time before my high school ones. I am hoping to begin working on Mental and Known by Heart once again. Thank you!
In this world everything was supposed to be perfect. It was supposed to be our utopia and everything we could ask for, but was it? The world we lived in was as perfect as can be. It was modern, it was clean, and there was no crime. But it truly was too perfect. With the drop of a pin, the world could shatter into pieces and all the chaos that was withheld would be free. No one would be safe anymore. This perfect world where everyone lived in peace performing their job to society and everything was pre-planned by The System. It was called The Republic of Newworld. After the two hundred year war between the Eastern and the Western cultures, the world became one, a place where everyone no matter who or what they looked like could live in harmony.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You were your average everyday citizen in The Republic of Newworld. Since your birth in 2201 CE, your life had been completely planned out for you by The System. You knew what your dream was, who your friends were going to be, when you died, and who you were destined to spend your life with from the start. This didn’t necessarily mean that you met them right away, but you would know it was them as you met them throughout your life.
At this point in your life, you knew all of your friends and you had just started working your jobs. You were one of the many doctors in the RNW, but there were also issues that you had with The System. When you were six years old--as did every other six year old--your parents had brought you to the government building where The System was kept. There, you would get to know your future and what it had in store for you. It would tell you exactly how your life would end up and who you would be with.
At the time, this was quite scary for you since you were still young. You grasped the concept of the utopia that you were living in, but you didn’t fully comprehend why everyone followed what The System said. Couldn’t The System be corrupt or make mistakes? You used to ask these questions, but the adults of the community often gave you scary glances as if what you were saying challenged everyone’s way of life.
You eventually knew it was best to stop asking questions if you wanted to be safe. You had found out the hard way what happened to the people that asked too many questions. Often a person dressed in all white with a pale face and dark eyes would come in and collect those people. Sometimes they weren’t seen again or if they were they didn’t come back looking the way they were supposed to.
That day at the government building, you were met with The System. You were expecting a council of people but instead you were met with a white room with a chair in the middle. It was empty except for the huge screened computer that sat on the wall. You sat in the chair and waited not knowing exactly what to do with yourself. You stared at your fingers playing with them, trying to distract yourself from what feeling of anxiety you had while waiting. The silence was broken as the large computer screen filled with color.
A robotic voice filled the room welcoming you before a camera flew by your wrist. On your wrist and everyone else’s wrist were a code of sorts. This code was provided at birth and was different from everyone else’s. When a baby was born, they were taken where The System was and it would stamp a code onto the baby’s wrist to mark them and identify them. From there, all your information was stored in the code. As the camera scanned the numbers on your wrist, a bundle of lists popped up on the screen including a photo, your birthday and all the normal information. There was a list loading to the right of all your information. It was the info that would tell you what your future was.
Suddenly, the list popped up with all the normal information on your future such as your friends, your occupation, but there was an issue. Next to the field for your significant other it was blank. A blank field was unheard of. You got scared at the thought of it being blank. Was your significant other dead? Were they as worried as you were? Why was it blank? Your mind filled with these questions.
You wanted to know why you didn’t have a significant other like everyone else did. Granted, significant others were really just meant for the purpose of reproduction. Not all of them shared romantic feelings for each other, but you wanted that. You wanted to come home to someone you loved, not a stranger. The computer finished showing the information before copying the new information into your code. The computer turned off leaving you to guess that you needed to leave.
You left wondering how The System could make a mistake. It was supposed to be perfect yet it wasn’t… You met your parents outside the room where they smiled and asked you about your future. You told them how you were to be a doctor and have a small group made up of six friends. You named them all out to your parents as they listened. Once they asked you about the significant other you kept quiet, acting as if you were thinking of their name. You thought up of a name and told them that his name was Jungkook or something like that. You didn’t really know but you figured it would work and they would forget about it sooner or later.
That night at your house, you laid awake as you thought about all the things that could be wrong with you. You didn’t know what was wrong with you but there was nothing you could do about it. Who would have known what could happen to you if you came out telling that you had a mistake in your code. Would they have killed you or would something else happen? You wouldn’t risk it. You’d take the secret to the grave if you had to.
Now at age twenty, your life had been exactly how it was predicted. You stayed friends with everyone that you had met throughout your years and as expected had yet to meet a significant other. All of your friends had begun to find theirs. While you hadn’t found your significant other, you didn’t mention it to your friends. You refused to let anyone know that you didn’t have one. You simply told them that you had one but you hadn’t found him yet because of your job. You were a doctor after all so your schedule was pretty packed. They seemed to believe you for now but you knew one day everything would crash around you. You couldn’t keep up with a lie that continuously kept building higher and higher. You couldn’t stop it, you couldn’t escape from the lie that you had made.
All six of your friends and you had gathered as you all sat down to eat lunch together during a day off from work. You sat in between your friend Yuri and Jiwon. Yuri had been your closest girl friend. Yuri was someone that you once thought about telling your secret to because you were so close but you were still hesitant. You continually told yourself that you’d think more about it but you couldn’t do it. You didn’t know what risks would come from telling someone else about the secret you had already kept for fourteen years.
Jiwon on the other hand, was not your closest male friend. Jiwon and you were close but there was another person in your friend group that held that role. Jiwon was for sure a second to him. Your closest male friend was Jungkook. You couldn’t remember why that name sounded familiar like deja vu, you felt like you knew the name or had known it before you two were even friends.
Jungkook was the only other person you had thought about telling your secret to. Jungkook was always there. He’d visit you at work--mostly since he worked as an assistant doctor in the same hospital--, hang out with you a lot, and in general was the perfect friend. You were most comfortable with him and Yuri. While Yuri was talkative and overall friendly, Jungkook was almost an opposite of her. Jungkook was more on the quiet and shy side, he was friendly but overall avoided talking to those he wasn’t comfortable with. Of course, he wasn’t shy around the entire friend group, when he was with everyone he was a completely different person. He was loud, always laughing, and talkative. You were the in between of Yuri and Jungkook’s personalities though.
You could go either way depending on who you were with or your mood. You were very much like a mediator in the group. You made sure everyone got along, everyone was heard, and no one fought with each other.
As you all sat eating lunch together, you mulled over your thoughts. You really wanted to know if you should tell anyone about your issues but you were scared. Would your friends leave you? Would you be taken away and killed? You bit your lip hard enough to cause pain. You were pulled out of your trance when you felt a hand on yours. You looked over at Yuri who smiled at you. You forced a smile on your face to match Yuri’s. Yuri moved closer to you and whispered in your ear, “I’m here. Talk to me if something is wrong.” you moved away and smiled once more before returning her attention to the conversation. You smiled at how Yuri always knew how you were feeling.
You looked up from your plate and found Jungkook staring at you from across the table. He had the same worried look on his face that Yuri had but you just shook your head slightly trying to voice to him that it was nothing. He understood and smiled at you giving you a knowing look. You felt most at peace when you were with Yuri and Jungkook. They were your everything. You decided one day you would tell Yuri about your issue. If you were to die, you rather it be at the hands of your friend than the government.
After lunch had ended, everyone parted ways as having a day off from work was something to cherish. Those were the times you’d get to spend the most time with friends and your significant other. Granted, you relished in the days you could see your friends since otherwise you were alone. You had always watched how your friends reacted with their significant others. Yuri had found her significant other quite easily at her job.
Yuri was a lawyer for the government and had met him on a case. His name was Namjoon. Namjoon was perfect for Yuri in every way. Not only did they look good together, but he was as friendly as you was and very philosophical. Yuri had loved literature in school because of its critical thinking. Yuri loved being challenged in thought and Namjoon did just that.
Unlike Yuri, Jungkook had no significant other but it wasn’t unusual. Jungkook had been the youngest in the friend group. Yuri being the oldest and the mother of the group. Jungkook was a year younger than you so he still had a bit of time until it was likely for him to find his soulmate. Much like you, he sat on the sidelines while he watched everyone else with their soulmates.
As always, Jungkook sat by you as he watched everyone leave with their significant other. Once everyone had left though, Jungkook and you parted ways and left to rest for the rest of your day off.
Your next day at work was rough. You didn’t sleep well, didn’t have time to eat, and overall felt like a mess. You were literally walking around like a zombie for the entire day due to your lack of sleep and food. You eventually ate lunch and solved the food problem but you were still tired and you had to work overtime today. No amount of coffee could get you through this one.
You sat down to take a five minute break and closed your eyes to rest them slightly. Without knowing it you slipped out of consciousness sitting up. The next time you opened your eyes you found your head resting on someone’s shoulder. You groggily looked up to see who was sitting next to you and saw Jungkook just waiting. “Jungkook, why are you here?” you asked.
“I saw you falling asleep and decided to be of service.” He smiled brightly at you. You laughed slightly before completely waking up and realizing you had been sleeping.
“How could I fall asleep? I have work to do!” You sat up quickly having a crisis as you tried to think of what to do.
“Don’t worry, I found someone to fill your position since I knew you needed to sleep. You really overwork yourself too much.” He reassured you. You calmed down before slumping back into the comfortable waiting room chair.
“I don’t overwork myself, you know?”
“I know you say that you don’t but we both know you work more hours than almost all the doctors in this hospital.” You smiled at his comment that was like a hidden compliment.
“It doesn’t matter though right, it’s not like I have anything to come home to.” Jungkook stiffened at your mention to not having a significant other. He felt nervous at the topic of soulmates or significant others. You couldn’t tell why he seemed to avoid it but you also had seen how Jungkook acted around women. Perhaps his fear of women had to do with his hesitancy to speak of the topic.
Jungkook swallowed, “Well when you do have someone to come home to, they wouldn’t like to see you overworking yourself.”
You laughed a bit sarcastically, “If I find someone.” You accidentally left a tiny clue as to why you didn’t have anyone but you hoped Jungkook wouldn’t pick up on it. Jungkook had picked up on the slight hint but ignored it.
“I’m sure you’ll find him.” You went ahead and nodded anyways. You knew deep down you would be alone. The talk of significant other’s left a rain cloud over the conversation. Jungkook and you sat in silence as if the two of you had been thinking of your own problems or thoughts without voicing them. Jungkook ended up taking you home after you had rested for a bit. When you got there, you slumped yourself down onto the couch.
You draped your arm over your eyes as you felt frustrated at yourself. Ever since you found out about not having a significant other, it took a toll on your self confidence. You didn’t fit in. You didn’t belong anywhere in society. You were a defect in the Utopia that The System had created. Your self hate often took over your thoughts, leaving you to look at everyone as a higher being than yourself. You would forever be a no one. No one could accept you for what you were, not your parents, your friends, or anyone in society. You would always be alone no matter what. This was the destiny you were handed and that was that. You felt tears prick her eyes for what felt like the thousandth time since you found out. You wondered when you would stop being a crybaby and move past it. Or when your tears would eventually dry out like a river. You let the tears run down, you had no other choice. This was your life.
The following week, Yuri had come over to check on you as she did with everyone in the friend group. Yuri, as the motherly figure, liked checking in on everyone and knowing what was happening in their lives or how they were. Today you had off but your thoughts were at an extreme high today. They were literally tearing you apart. You walked over to the door to see who was there and saw Yuri. You tried your best to wipe your tears away from your eyes. Yuri couldn’t see them or know about it.
You smiled before opening the door and immediately started talking right away, “Hey Yuri! It’s so nice to see you, what are you doing here? Would you-”
Yuri cut you off with a stern look on her face, “What’s wrong with you?” You stopped in your tracks at her words. Your mind raced to find an excuse.
“What are you talk-” Yuri welcomed herself in and closed the door behind her. Yuri grabbed your hand and led you to the couch.
“Please tell me what’s wrong, Y/N.”
“I really don’t-” Yuri hugged you to her. You were reaching your limit. Yuri’s comforting presence made you want to forget everything and tell her everything. Your tears came out despite you willing them to stay in.
“Please don’t keep your problems to yourself, I love you and I don’t want to see you in pain, ever.” You finally let yourself cry freely, sniffling and choking on your tears.
”I can’t. I just can’t.”
“What can’t you do honey? Can you not tell me what's going on?” You kept shaking your head. You were conflicted. What should you do. Should you tell Yuri about your problems or not. You didn’t know what to do. It didn’t matter anymore did it? If you lived or died?
You pulled away from Yuri, “I’m not like everyone else.”
“What do you mean, of course everyone is different.”
“That’s not what I mean, I’m a defect!”
“A defect? What do you mean, I don’t understand-”
You cut Yuri off, “I’m not like everyone else. My life wasn’t planned correctly and perfectly! While the rest of you are normal, I’m not. I don’t have a significant other at all!”
Yuri was taken aback, “W-what do you mean? Of course you do, everyone has one-”
“No you don’t understand. When I was six and was told of my future, I had a blank field!”
“A blank field? That’s impossible, The System is perf-”
“I thought so too but here I am at twenty and I’m going to be alone.” Yuri’s heart clenched at your words. Yuri wanted to comfort you but didn’t know how to. Going to the government was out of the question, you would be killed if they knew you had a blank field. Underneath all the perfect things about their world, there was corruption in the government. They would never let such a thing like The System making a mistake get out. All Yuri could do was hold you close as you cried. Yuri really didn’t know what else she could do. She felt terrible that a person as kind as you was destined to be alone because of a mistake. But the thought of you having a blank field sparked ideas in Yuri’s head. Were there others out there with blank fields that lived the same way as you, isolated, scared, and confused? Were they scared deep inside for every day they’ve had to live on carrying such a secret? You pulled away from Yuri’s arms, “You can’t tell anyone about this, Yuri.”
“I know, I don’t plan on doing so,” Yuri said.
“No, I really mean it you have to promise me that you won’t tell anyone not even any of our friends.”
“Not even Jungkook?”
“No! Never tell Jungkook, he can’t know. He’ll be worse than you and will constantly bother me about how I’m feeling.” Yuri smiled gently at you.
Yuri pushed a few strands of hair behind your ear, “It’s ok. I promise I will keep it a secret till the end. I’m happy you trusted me enough to practically give me your life.” You nodded and hugged Yuri once more to feel her comfort.
Suddenly, the doorbell rang and Yuri and you stared at the door with a tense feeling. Yuri broke away from you and stood up, “Go wait in your bedroom, I’ll handle this and come back afterwards, okay?” You nodded before picking yourself up from the couch and moving to your bedroom. Yuri watched as you walked away and once you were out of sight, went to go answer the door. Yuri unlocked the door and opened it to see Jungkook’s face. Jungkook seemed surprised to see Yuri answering the door instead of you.
“Hey, Yuri. What are you doing here?”
“I was checking in on Y/N, you know being my motherly self.”Yuri gave a tight smile.
Jungkook felt suspicious, “And is she doing okay?”
“Yes, she’s just fine. Nothing to worry about, Jungkook. Now why are you here?”
Jungkook blushed slightly before answering, “Oh, I came to see Y/N since she had the day off. Can I come in?” Yuri mentally apologized to Jungkook.
“I don’t think that’s a good idea tonight…” Yuri said trying to keep details about you vague.
“Why is something wrong with Y/N? You just said she was doing okay.” At this point Jungkook was worried and suspicious about what could be going on. Yuri stayed silent but did not give up as she blocked his entrance. “Yuri,” Jungkook spoke in a stern voice. “I think I should check on Y/N.” He tried to push past Yuri but she wasn’t going to allow him.
“I’m sorry Jungkook, I really am,” Yuri said before pushing him away as hard as she could. Once he was out of the doorway, Yuri slammed the door and locked it. Yuri sighed as she heard Jungkook pounding on the door and his muffled voice. she felt bad that she couldn’t tell Jungkook what was going on but she promised you and she was going to keep that promise to her grave. Until you voiced your want of telling Jungkook, he was going to forever stay in the dark.
Yuri had slept over at your house due to her not wanting to leave your side. You tried to tell her that that wasn’t necessary but Yuri of course wasn’t going to listen to you. When you woke up with Yuri beside you, you slipped out of bed without waking Yuri. You wanted to go on a walk despite the cold weather since you needed to clear your mind. You slipped a jacket on over your attire and some shoes. You walked to the door and opened it only to be surprised. There in front of you was Jungkook waiting. He looked just surprised as if he didn’t expect to see you this early in the morning. “You didn’t stay outside all night did you?!” You asked concerned. Your hands flew to feel his skin to check if it was ice cold.
“What was wrong with you last night?”
“Jungkook, that isn’t import-”
“But it is important!” He raised his voice at her. It wasn’t often that he raised his voice at you.
You were taken aback at his tone, “Jungkook I can’t-”
“You can’t tell me? You can tell Yuri, but not me? Aren’t we supposed to be friends? Aren’t we supposed to help each other out?”
“Jungkook, you know it’s not that simple.”
“Who else knows?”
“What?”
“Who else knows, am I the only one you are leaving in the dark..?” Jungkook’s eyebrows were furrowed. You couldn’t read all the emotions he had on his face. He looked angry but his eyes were showing a feeling of hurt or sadness. You swallowed but didn’t say anything. What could you say? Everyone was in the dark except for Yuri, but then he’d want to know why he couldn’t know. Jungkook took your silence for an answer. He tongued at his cheek out of frustration.
“Alright,” He said stiffly. He ran a hand through his hair before turning his back to you and leaving. You felt tears prick at your eyes once more. There was nothing you could do. You couldn’t tell something like this to him when you barely brought yourself to tell Yuri. You watched as he walked away before closing the door and slumping against it. You had no longer felt like going for that run. You promised to yourself that you wouldn’t cry though. Not over your friends, not over anything except for your secret. Only your secret could make you feel that weak and helpless, not another human being.
You had tried on multiple occasions to get ahold of Jungkook but to no avail. He avoided you like the plague. Even when you would see him at work, he’d walk past you not sparing a glance, as if you didn’t exist. Personally, you felt that he was acting childish and being stubborn. You tried many times to talk to him like the adults you two were but he wasn’t having it. He ignored you in person, and even more over text. You tried asking Yuri for help but she wasn’t much help either. Yuri would just go on and on about how she was going to kick Jungkook’s ass for being childish or how she was going to give him a piece of her mind. You loved that Yuri felt the need to protect you, but you would never let Yuri do that, even if you were upset at Jungkook for his actions. You tried asking Yuri for advice about the possibility of telling Jungkook about your secret but Yuri refused to voice her opinion. Yuri didn’t want her opinion to influence you to make a decision you weren’t sure of. You pushed the decision to the back of your mind trying to completely forget about it. Yuri eventually left the next evening and you were alone again. You felt pretty decent compared to how you usually felt when you had to sit home alone. Perhaps it had been telling at least someone about your issues that had lifted the weight you used to feel constantly on your shoulders.
The next morning when you had to go to work, you felt happier than you had in awhile. While you desperately wanted to fix things between Jungkook and you, you still felt at peace for once. As you went around helping patients and their families, you got a text. A part of you deeply wished it was Jungkook but that was wishful thinking. As you stared at the screen you read the same name of the person who had begun to text you just as much as Jungkook had. Yuri made herself a promise to check up on you every day to see how you were feeling and how your day was going. Yuri wanted to make sure you never felt alone. You quickly replied to Yuri before putting your phone back into your lab coat pocket. You heard the ringing of the siren of new victims and patients coming in to be treated in the ER. You ran to begin taking them to operating rooms and hooking them up to IVs and oxygen. Later at lunch, you had eaten by yourself since Jungkook and you weren’t talking. You missed eating with him but one trait you shared with him was that you were stubborn.You went to distract yourself by answering more of Yuri’s texts but did not get the chance to. As soon as you tried, a nurse had run in and began speaking, “Doctor, there’s an emergency in the ER and we don’t have another available doctor at the moment!” You quickly nodded and stood up in a rush. You tried putting your phone in your pocket but unknowingly missed the pocket, leaving it behind on the floor.
Jungkook stared at your phone on the floor. He at first thought about leaving it there but he’d felt bad if you had lost your phone. He walked over to where you left your food and pocketed the phone into his pants. He told himself that later he would hand it to the receptionist to give back to you.
Jungkook was annoyed by your phone. It constantly kept ringing in his pocket with more and more texts from Yuri. He rolled his eyes at the thought of Yuri and you constantly talking when he wished he had been Yuri. He wished that you came to him instead of Yuri and whoever else you had told. He couldn’t take it anymore, he grabbed your phone and read through all the incoming texts from Yuri. Some of them were normal asking how your day was going, if you ate, and slept well, while others were more cryptic to him. He didn’t understand what Yuri meant and what she was asking you. Jungkook debated going through your privacy or not. He bit his lower lip trying to think about it. He couldn’t help his curiosity as he began to type your password into the phone. He half hoped you didn’t change it and half hoped that you did and that he wouldn’t be allowed in. Your phone unlocked and he didn’t know if he should have felt relieved or guilty. His finger hovered over the messages app before he willed his finger to tap it. Yuri’s messages flooded in as he began to scroll through yours and Yuri’s messages. He definitely felt bad about it but it was like he couldn’t stop until he knew what was going on. As he read the messages they seemed normal with a few out of the ordinary. Jungkook wondered to himself as he had noticed that Yuri and you had talked a lot about your feelings. He wondered if you were dealing with something mentally but as he kept scrolling further up. He came across the answer to his questions. Yuri had texted you asking if you were sure about something and you had asked for clarification. Yuri had answered his question as he read the text, ‘Are you sure you don’t want to tell Jungkook about you not having a significant other?’ For Jungkook, time froze. The reason why you were alone, the reason why you had smiled sadly at the talk of significant others, the reason why you made excuses about it was clear now. He guiltily locked your phone again and put it in his pocket. He felt horrible for having gone through your texts now that he knew that you really couldn’t tell him. Should he confront you? Should he keep it a secret? He didn’t know. He wanted to help you, he really did. He decided he’d be the bigger person, him and you needed to talk and needed to talk tonight.
You were in distress. You could not find your phone anywhere, no matter where you looked you couldn’t find it. The last time you saw it was at lunch but you did not find it there or in the lost and found. You left work and walked back to your house unsuccessful. You didn’t know how you had lost your phone but it happened. You would have to get a new one, not that you couldn’t afford one, but your old phone held everything. It held your pictures, personal info, texts, and a bunch of other things that you needed. You never answered Yuri’s texts either. Yuri was probably worried sick wondering if anything happened.
When you finally got home, you immediately slumped your body down onto the couch, casting an arm over your eyes. You could finally relax and take a step back now that you were at your house. That peacefulness didn’t last long though, a minute later the doorbell rang. Figuring it was Yuri coming to check on you, you didn’t move.
“The door’s unlocked, come on in!” You yelled from the couch without lifting your arm from her eyes. You heard the door open and someone close it behind them but they were silent. You slowly pulled your arm away from your eyes and instead of being met with Yuri’s face, you were met with Jungkook’s. You sat up quickly, confused as to why he was here.
“Jungkook…” You called out to him. He bit his lip as if he was mulling over some thoughts. He decided he could tell you his feelings better through actions than through words. He walked closer to you before embracing you in his arms. You tensed up before relaxing into his touch. you missed him.
“I’m sorry,” he choked out.
You gently pulled away to look at him, “What are you sorry for?”
“I did something I shouldn’t have.”
“What do you mean Jungkook, you didn’t do anything wrong you were just worried,” you tried comforting him.
“No, I did something else, please don’t hate me. Don’t leave me.”
You spoke in a hushed voice, “Jungkook… Just what did you do?” Jungkook reached into his pocket and pulled out your phone.
You suddenly felt sick, “What did you see?”
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m sorry.” Jungkook kept repeating. You knew what he meant. He knew. You were slightly mad, but you had already thought about telling him sooner or later anyways. It was just sooner than you had expected.
You lifted Jungkook’s chin so that he was looking at you, “It’s okay Jungkook. I would have told you eventually.” Jungkook stayed silent as his eyes were still filled with worry and guilt.
“Do you want to stay the night?” You asked. Jungkook nodded. You walked with Jungkook to the guest room where he usually stayed whenever he was chilling over at your place. Jungkook sat on the all too familiar bed but was still silent.
“Don’t keep looking like that, Jungkook. A smile looks best on your face, so smile for me. We’re okay.” Jungkook looked at you and gave a light smile. You smiled back from the doorway.
“Well, if that’s it then I’m gonna go ahead and get-” Jungkook latched his lips onto yours causing you to stop talking. Your hands came up quickly to grab him and Jungkook was scared of being pushed away. But you didn’t. You wrapped your arms around his neck and he gently pulled your waist closer to him. He deepened the kiss but kept it at a slow and sensual pace. Neither one of you wanted to stop as you two were lost in the moment.
You eventually brought yourself back and pulled away slowly. You hadn’t regret what happened but you were confused. Jungkook and you were friends, you couldn’t be together. It wouldn’t be too long until Jungkook found a significant other and you’d be alone again. You had to keep this as a one time thing. You wouldn’t be able to take it if the day came that Jungkook met his significant other. Jungkook and you stared at each other trying to read the other but there wasn’t anything much to read.
“Good night, Jungkook,” you said in a whisper.
“Good night,” Jungkook barely spoke out. You closed the door behind you, separating yourself from him. Your heart was sporadic but he was forbidden. You couldn’t do it. Even if you wanted, you knew it would only end in heartbreak.
When you woke up the next morning, Jungkook wasn’t there, he disappeared. You felt like there was a pain in your heart. You realised that it obviously meant very little to Jungkook. He had no reason to be kissing you anyway. He did it out of pity. You kept using these excuses as it would help you stay away from him or at least stop yourself from repeating the actions. You needed to talk to Yuri desperately. Thankfully Yuri and you had the day off. You needed a girl talk. Within seconds of texting Yuri, Yuri had replied that she would be over right away. You tidied up your house a little and brushed your teeth. You didn’t have to look good in front of Yuri, but you still wanted to look the least bit decent. You heard the door being opened as Yuri walked in worriedly. Yuri embraced you with her eyebrows furrowed, “This sounded urgent, so we can talk.” You nodded and you both sat on the couch.
“Jungkook found out about it.”
“Did you tell him about it yourself?”
You shook your head, “He saw it from our texts, and he seemed to take it well but that’s not everything.”
“There’s something else?”
“Jungkook and I kissed…”
“YOU DID WHAT?” Yuri screamed. You winced slightly before nodding.
Yuri had mixed emotions, “I mean I’ve always thought you two would look cute together but-”
“Yuri, I can’t do it.”
“But Y/N, you might actually-”
“It was a mistake, it can’t happen again.”
“What happened?” Yuri looked concerned again.
“I thought everything would be fine afterwards but he left. He left in the middle of the night as if he wanted to forget about it.”
“Oh sweetheart, you don’t know that. Talk to him, but he must know that if he did use you that I will castrate him on the spot.”
You giggled slightly, “I love you Yuri.”
“Don’t worry, I love you too. If I wasn’t with Namjoon I’d be all over you,” Yuri winked. You felt better after talking to Yuri, like you always did. Jungkook still left a aching pain in your heart but Yuri was right. This wasn’t over, you two needed to talk. It was because you guys didn’t communicate that you were having issues. Not long after Yuri left, you gathered the courage to text Jungkook first. ‘Hey, can we hang out sometime soon?’ You wanted to try to play it off cool. You just wanted everything to be fine even if they weren’t. Was that too much to ask for? You just wanted your old life back before he knew, before he knew, Yuri knew. Everything was becoming too much for your already emotionally weak self.
You wished he’d answer your texts as fast as he used to. You remembered when Jungkook used to answer your texts almost immediately. It was as if he was waiting for one, and that made you happy. It made you happy to think someone would wait for your response or in general would want to wait for you.
Eventually you were met with a notification that Jungkook was typing so you unlocked your phone to see what it was. You anxiously watched the dots load and then they stopped. You waited a few minutes and still there was no message. You slowly put down your phone after five minutes. Your gaze having gone from anxious to disappointed.
You didn’t understand why he was being like this to you, you hadn’t done anything wrong had you? He was the one that kissed you first, you were only doing what felt natural. Yet it seemed you were getting rejected for reacting the way you did. Maybe it was a bad idea to even think that telling Jungkook was an option. What if he hated you now? What if your days were numbered and soon the government would show up at your door and kill you? You needed to talk to Jungkook but he was ignoring you. What more could you do?
Jungkook continued to ignore you even at work. When you would call out his name he’d walk faster to wherever he was going or in the opposite direction of you. You were fuming after a few days of trying to get ahold of him. You had enough of his moodiness. You looked outside as it rained.
You got home from work and changed into more comfortable clothing before going to see Jungkook. You were going to force him to talk to you, you’d given him more than enough time to sort out his thoughts and feelings. You grabbed an umbrella and began to trek towards his apartment in the rain. You could have drove but you preferred walking and his apartment was only a five minute walk from yours. But fate seemed to be against you today--and even all of your life--as the wind blew the umbrella from your hand leaving you to get drenched by the rain. You walked up the steps of Jungkook’s apartment before knocking on his door softly. You were freezing, your teeth chattering as you stood at his door. You were going to curse Jungkook for eternity if he wasn’t home or if he didn’t answer.
Jungkook pulled the door open and looked at your saturated form. Part of him wanted to close the door and continue running from his problems but as he looked at you he was finding it to be hard for him to turn you away. “We need to talk.” You said between the chatters of your teeth. Jungkook was weak, he couldn’t turn you away. He moved aside and let you inside. He moved to the closest to grab you a towel and a change of clothes.
“Do you want to take a shower first?” He asked softly.
“And risk you running away from me some more? No thanks.”
“I’m sorry,” he apologized but he wasn’t sure for what.
“What’s going on Jungkook? What happened to you? Us?”
“It’s hard to explain…”
You weren’t so sure how it could be hard, “What do you mean? Was it something I did, because if it’s the kiss, Jungkook that’s all on you.” You visibly watched him stiffen at the mention of you two kissing.
“No, it’s not that…” Jungkook desperately wanted to say what was on his mind but he was afraid.
You were getting angry, “Then what is it, Jungkook?! You figure out my big life secret, kiss me, and then run away from me. How am I supposed to figure you out?!”
Jungkook winced at your venomous words. He knew you were right. He did all of that. He was being such a dick but his pride wouldn’t let him fix it. His mouth moved faster than his mind though, words vomiting from his mouth, “I was afraid, okay! I didn’t know how to react to it, I needed time.”
“Jungkook, I gave you time to think about it and all you did was continue to run.”
“I know, I know! I just don’t know how to put my emotions into words…”
“Jungkook, what exactly are you afraid of?” You asked.
“Of being happy.”
“How does any of the problems we are going through relate to being happy Jungkook? I can’t help or talk to you if you aren’t willing to do the same.”
“Happy that everything was going to be okay, happy because there was an answer, happy because the answer was you,” Jungkook’s eyes flew to meet yours. He moved to take steps closer to you, he wanted to show you that he was trying. He was trying to explain to you what you couldn’t understand. You kept backing away until your back met the wall and Jungkook had trapped you.
“Please, Jungkook. Just talk to me,” you whispered as tears came from your eyes. Jungkook moved his hands to your face.
He gently wiped your tears away, “I was happy to no longer be alone as someone without a significant other, I was happy because I finally had an answer to my problems, and that the answer was you.”
Your tears came down harder at his words. You knew very well what he was talking about. He was the same as you. Alone, a defect, someone who was constantly living a lie. Jungkook’s eyes flew to your lips, he looked up at you before you nodded. He moved slowly before connecting your lips. He had a few tears coming out of his eyes as well. He didn’t know that he could feel this happy about having someone.
Even if the system messed up, he was okay with the mistake. He could hold you in his arms, he could continue to be with you without feeling jealous over you having another person waiting for you. If everything worked out, he could be that person. He could wake up next to you, fall asleep next to you, come home to you everyday. Just the thought made his heart beat pick up.
You ran your fingers through his hair trying to pull him even the slightest bit closer. Jungkook pulled away and looked at you. Both of your eyes had a serene look to it. The tension in the room had disappeared long ago.
You blushed feeling a little flustered from the kiss,”I-I should go-”
“Stay, please.” Jungkook begged you. You nodded. He pulled you closer to him as he embraced you. You were drunk on his scent, it was always familiar and comforting, like home. He kissed your forehead before leading you to his room. He left you to shower and change clothes as he got lost in thought. You eventually finished and you two laid next to each other, still unsure of what this was. Was it a dream, was it fate, or was it for once something in life that you two could cherish?
“Jungkook, can I ask you some questions?”
Jungkook was silent as if weighing the options,”Go for it.”
You took a deep breath, “Did you find out that you had a blank field when you went to the government building too?” Jungkook nodded even though he was barely visible in the low lamp light. “Do your parents know?”
Jungkook sighed, “No, even though they were my parents, I was scared. I decided that I’d never tell anyone, but that changed tonight.”
“Only Yuri and you know. I never told any of our other friends. I only trusted you two enough, but I guess I got something good out of it.” You smiled gently. Jungkook smiled knowingly. He was lucky too, he had been given the same woman that he had always wished for.
“What are our plans now?” Jungkook asked.
“I don’t know, but I have you now so I think everything will be fine no matter what.” Jungkook was melting at your words. You always knew how to make him feel a certain way.
“I’ll protect you if it comes to it.” Jungkook spoke without thinking but he meant it. He wasn’t going to let you be hurt.
“Me too, I promise.” You smiled. You felt so happy that Jungkook and you were talking again but also that you had someone. You had someone who could relate without feeling pity. You knew things couldn’t be perfect but you were going to give it your best to keep this utopia going. you weren’t going to let it crumble and fall right in front of you, this was your dream. You looked down at Jungkook’s hand before taking it into your own. His hand was warm as it held yours back with the same intensity. He was thinking the same thing. He wanted this to be real, not a dream. If being together meant living in this so called utopia he would. He wouldn’t let the world crumble no matter what. He’d do it in a heartbeat in order to be this happy. This was the one hand he never wanted to let go of.

go off about DDLC
//Okayokayokay gonna put all this under a cut bc I’m gonna totally spill everything out just – just everything I can on the fly (and I’m also not gonna tag it under the game’s tag bc I am a scared muffin who fears someone will disagree with my thoughts and I don’t want to be labeled as a mental-illness-is-automatically-horror douchebag ;;;;; )
GREAT GAME GREAT GAME LET’S JUST GET THAT OUTTA THE WAY I LOVE IT (and again if you don’t that is fine your opinion is valid and I’m not tryna change anyone’s mind, I just have a different view of one of the main criticisms and I’m not trying to change your mind on that either)
I should state that I love anything cute that turns creepy. That’s just… it’s my shit. Cute stuff that goes off the wire and turns totally horrific is absolutely my thing
Or even otherwise innocent stuff slowly going horror (Unlimited Footage of a Bear - a anti-depressant booster commercial going haywire, Too Many Cooks - an 80′s.. no, parody of pretty much every show type ever going haywire, Tea Time - tea time with a granny going haywire )
So uh when I heard from my friendos that I should play this game called Doki Doki Literature Club
And it was already sounding like my thing my thing because I love anime waifus n shit
When I saw the first tag being “psychological horror” I was both like “Why?” and [Bluebeard Voice] “SHIT YES”
I was one of the ones who got to play it before there were let’s plays all over Youtube and even if there would’ve been at the time I didn’t look that shit up because I wanted the full TAKE MY BODY AND SHAKE IT experience
And I saw the anxiety and depression warning at the beginning and was like “Oh. I have both of those. … Eh” and played anyway
MY BIGGEST BUT ALSO MOST AWESOME MISTAKE (besides that fucking soda spill last night omg I don’t even think I told you guys the whole story but oh my god Sayo-nara might as well have been playing during that shit)
I, uh;; haha, disliked Sayori toward the beginning of the game. Not that i found her annoying or anything, it’s just the “ditsy childhood friend” trope was always one of my least favorite tropes so I kinda just found her meh. She was cute though (hahahahahaHAHAHA and you know what I’m pissed that this sweetheart who went through such a deep-ass development in such a short time has basically been reduced to nothing but a hanging joke
Like we get it. She hung herself and we joke about to deal with the pain bUT THERE WAS SO MUCH MORE TO SAYORI THAN THAT PLS STOP REDUCING HER TO THAT ONE POINT IN THE GAME C’MOOOON)
And perhaps this was a spoiler but I did not recognize it as one but one of said friends who recommended it to me told me to wait for Sayori to start acting off.
… My initial assumption with this game was that it was going to be one of those generic “ALL THE GIRLS WANNA MURDER EACH OTHER AND THEN YOU” things bc that shit happens all the time in anime but that’s not to say I wouldn’t love it anyway. Generic doesn’t mean bad ANYWHO I’ll stop getting off topic
Met Yuri. I liked her, but did not and do not think she was best girl, I just felt her personality was most like mine. Because I am shy af when I first meet people and feel like I have to walk on eggshells even around people I’m comfortable with (cough cough my fam) to make sure I don’t “fuck up” when really most of my fuck-ups consist of accidentally not hearing something or just putting on a song I like on the radio and then everyone else hates it and I’m like “oh.. I suck”
and then I get “Quit it with that pity-partying bullshit” (PSA: Don’t say that to someone like Yuri especially, that will not help her, in fact don’t say that to anyone unless they’re really tough and can handle that kind of .. uh.. advice??? )
Met Natsuki.
… LOVE HER lOVE HER SO MUCH I WOULD DIE FOR NATSUKI I WOULD DIE
because I love tsunderes. That’s.. that’s literally it. The moment I saw her saying she didn’t make the cupcakes for me or anything, I knew true love was meant to be between us. She would be my route, and if that route ended with her trapping me in a basement and forcefeeding me poisonous cupcakes until I died and a graphic image of my internal organs exploding showed, that would be just fine. Love is an open door with a tsundere behind it, bitches.
Met Monika. Liked her. … That’s it, I just found her nice. Before the poem game, I had already decided Natsuki was the one true best girl and I was not doing Monika’s route until another playthrough (I assumed maybe her route was special and it unlocked after you beat the game once at the time). Hahahahahaha HELP
… aND THEN THE POEM GAME CAME.
And I immediately noticed Monika wasn’t even there to be “seduced” by my sexy words. I asked why this was, and I just got “that’s the question you should be asking”
…………………………………..
immediate suspicion of Monika, slight fear of the other girls as well.
The rest of the game goes by pretty smoothly for me though. I keep gradually finding Natsuki adorable as fuckin’ shit. The more I see her, the more I picture her in a bridal costume with me skipping down the aisle – well, her more grumpily walking and saying it’s not like she WANTED to be there marrying me or anything.
And then Sayori got sad.
… Really sad.
Like, suffering from depression.
I didn’t even have to wait for her confession or anything, I could tell by the way this was going that it wasn’t sadness, it was depression.
And I was like “oh, fuck.”
And then our dumbass protagonist WAITS A WHOLE DAY to visit her and she finally explains to her that she has depression and the way she describes it? To me? Is the most fucking heartbreaking thing in the whole game, especially coming from someone who has depression herself. Everything she said was, to me at least, 10000000% accurate and it hurt. It hurt in a very personal way. I’m not afraid to say I cried.
… I’m not afraid to say I still cry when that confession part comes up in other people’s playthroughs. It’s that poignant and truthful and painful to me.
And I was like “OH FUCK. I CAME HERE TO BE TORTURED WITH FEAR, NOT SADNESS. THIS IS GETTING REAL RIGHT HERE. THIS ISN’T RANDOMLY MURDEROUS FEMALES WANTING MY ASS LIKE I EXPECTED”
Also I baked with Natsuki, which was cute as shit, but I was also pissed as shit that the protagonist, who just realized his friend is suffering from an agonizingly painful mental illness, JUST CASUALLY THREW THAT SHIT UNDER THE RUG BECAUSE HEY. NATSUKI’S AT MY HOUSE DOKI DOKI DESU~~~~~
“Is it really okay for me to stop thinking about Sayori when she might need me?” NO. EVEN IF YOU DO THIS WITH NATSUKI, YOU SHOULD BE WORRIED ABOUT SAYORI AT LEAST IN THE BACK OF YOUR MIND BECAUSE SHE’S STILL IMPORTANT, YOU LUSTFUL JACKASS.
ahem
And then me and Natsuki were about to kiss and Bluebeard throws me another SHIT YES for support
And then SURPRISE SAYORI and Bluebeard goes SHIT NO and stays there while Natsuki runs away
And Sayori goes on more about her emotions because not only does she have depression, but she likes MC for whatever asinine reason and fears that she might feel something different for him than he does for her
Which, again, is a very real fear any person can have that can be greatly intensified by things like depression or anxiety
And the game gave me two options:
“You’ll always be my dearest friend.”
“I love you.”
… Meanwhile, Bluebeard is nudging the dumbass MC’s leg and saying, “Help her seek help and find a therapist. Say you know it’s hard, Can-Opener, but – is that really not going to be an option? Is this bastard that dumb? … Can I bite?”
That said, I chose “You’ll always be my dearest friend” because, imo, saying you experience romantic and sexual feelings toward a person when you honestly don’t just because they’re depressed will only hurt them even more when they inevitably find out the truth and your relationship flops.
Turns out either option would have ended in the same thing – which, also in my opinion, is fine. When you’re a person like MC (not asininely stupid, but you just don’t know about depression), you might not know what to say or how to help and these things can end in the worst. It happens all the time.
That’s why, the way I see it, Sayori’s suicide scene was one of the most poignant, well-executed, horrific, and upsetting things I have ever seen in a horror game.
I know people say it was just for shock value, but I – I honestly have to disagree. When you’re depressed, and I don’t care how clumsy you are, hanging might be the option you go with when you become crisis-level suicidal. And knowing that Sayori has struggled with this her entire life – knowing the context of the situation – I can’t say it was just for shock. You’re damn right it WAS shocking, but it wasn’t just for shock value.
And the whole “mental illness is horror” thing – I think this is one of the most well executed examples of it. Because whether people like it or not, mental illness can be horrific because it drives innocent people like Sayori to hate themselves completely and to do these things to themselves. It’s taking something very real, something that could potentially happen and has happened – and throwing it right in your face. The trope isn’t bad if the illness itself is treated with respect, and I think this is one of the instances where it was. It didn’t just scream “MENTAL HOSPITAL!! PATIENT!! TRIES TO KILL YOU!!!! BECAUSE THEY’RE A MENTAL HOSPITAL PATIENT!!!! ZOMG!!ONE2!!” It didn’t have Sayori hang herself straight from the get-go and leave you wondering “… why the fuck?”
Mental illness as horror can be done right. Because it can be a horrific thing. I think one of the many ways it can go wrong is that often times (unfortunately) mental illness as horror is treated in such a way that the person themselves is horrific. Not the illness they’re suffering from. They’re horrific because they’re mentally ill. That’s a no-no. But that’s not something I got from Sayori.
With Yuri in the 2nd act, on the other hand, I can kind of agree. The way she began ogling over the player way more than before, THOSE EYES, the.. the scent on the last Yuri poem – I feel that was a bit overdone, and also framing her to be a monster.
However, while this was intentional, someone in the game screwing with the actual game’s fabric of reality was behind it – and it was acknowledged as wrong because Monika herself was behind it and making Yuri act that way – which again, was acknowledged as wrong. Sorry I keep repeating that. Even if it came off a little “ehhh…”, something acknowledging that as wrong is 10000x better than just – once again – “THEY’RE MENTALLY ILL SO THEY’RE SCAAARY. AND THAT’S NOT A WRONG, STIGMATIZING, MAKING-MENTALLY-ILL-PEOPLE-LOOK-LIKE-MONSTERS PORTRAYAL OF SHIT. WE’RE NOT APOLOGIZING FOR SHIT. DEAL WITH IT. IT’S SCARY.”
Monika as the antagonist was very well-done. I had no clue about it from the beginning, even though I felt something was off after the first poem game, and I didn’t reeeeally start suspecting her of shit until Sayori said the “Monika was right, I should just–” line
Holy shit
That’s an antagonist right there, and a fucked up one
So uh yeah. Doki Doki Literature Club.
9/10.
Not enough Natsuki.

The Book - Part 2
To read part 1 click here
You begin to feel dizzy as the both of you become completely intoxicated with each other. A perfect moment forever frozen on the ice. Slowly Yurio pulled away, both of your faces now completely red in colour. You leant forward, nearly slipping up on the ice, grabbing onto his shoulders to steady yourself.  "Maybe we should get off of the ice." he chuckled. You laugh whilst nodding in agreement. Gently he guided you to the edge of the rink.
After rummaging in your bag, you check your phone. The screen illuminated with the words across it reading '1 new message'.  "I have a message from Yuuri, inviting me to eat at a restaurant nearby in five minutes." you say to Yurio.  "Crap, I have the same message from Victor." he growled in a huff.
Luckily the restaurant was close to the ice rink as you still did not know your way around Hasetsu. Not a single word was spoken in the short five minute walk there. Your mind wondered, you could not get the thought of what had happened in the ice rink out of your mind. So what should we do? announce what happened? or just pretend it didn't happen? You thought it best to follow Yurio's lead.
After entering the building, Victor waved the both of you over to the table where he was already sat next to Yuuri. Approaching the table, you watch Yurio eagerly as he gestured for you to decide where to sit. You took the chair opposite Yuuri, smiling at him as you did so. Yurio slumped down in the seat next to you, opposite Victor. You stared at the frown on the blonde's face. Denying everything that had happened it is then.
"Thank you for inviting me here." you say politely.  "You're welcome. It is one of my favourite places to eat here and I thought that you must visit. The food is devine." Yuuri said smiling. The food arrived quickly and you all hungrily devoured it. Yuuri was right, it really was delicious.  "So (Y/N), did Yurio make today worth your while?" Victor asked. Your breath hitched in your throat. Did he already somehow know what had happened? "W-what do you mean?" you stuttered. Yuuri and Victor looked at you, confused by your odd reaction.  "Well after being such an ass to you, he wanted you to watch him practice on the ice for two days in a row. It's a bit mean to put up with him for the entire day twice." Victor laughed and he laughed harder when Yurio yelled "hey!" at him.  Thinking on your feet was never your strength but you gave it a try.  "Oh yes. He showed me some new moves he had been working on." you said in a slightly shaky voice.  "New moves? And how were they?" Victor asked whilst raising an inquisitive eyebrow.  "Pretty incredible." you smile. You could see out of the corner of eye a light blush fill Yurio's cheeks and a smile flicker across his face at your answer.
You did not like being the centre of attention, it always made you feel uncomfortable. You bring your hands under the table and nervously start to play with the hem of your dress which covered your knees. Twisting the fabric in between your fingers. You jumped slightly as a hand covered one of yours under the table. It was Yurio's. He started to gently stroke your hand with his thumb. The physical contact calmed you, despite a light blush filling your cheeks.  Looking up you saw that he still had the same serious expression as he continues to frown at Victor.
Feeling more at ease now you attempt to steer the conversation in a different direction.  "So did you boys have a good day?" you asked eagerly. Yuuri and Victor started to talk about how their practice went. How even though Yuuri had lost weight Victor was still not satisfied with his fitness level.  Little did they know what else was going on whilst they were talking. Underneath the table, you move your hand so it now held Yurio's. Your fingers entwining with his. A smile crept onto your face when this caused Yurio to let out a sigh of happiness. The evening's conversation continued and was full of laughter. Though the scenario at the ice rink continued to play in your mind.
"Please excuse me for a moment" you say as you stand up and walk away from the table as you go to use the bathroom. Suddenly Yuuri's smiling face turned sour as both he and Victor stared at Yurio. His eyes widening slightly in reaction to the change in their expressions.  "Yurio, what did you do?" Yuuri questioned him.  "What are you talking about Pig?" Yurio growled.  "(Y/N). You must of scared her or something. She is so jumpy. She was shy when we first met but she seems uneasy tonight." Yuuri said accusing him. "Also Mari told me that she heard you yelling at her yesterday when you came back from practice. Something about a book?" Yurio paused for a moment with wide eyes.  "That was... Me being an idiot." he confessed. " Well what's new?" Victor chuckled which made Yurio frown at him again.  Despite still being unsatisfied with Yurio 's answer, you returned to the table before Yuuri could interrogate him any more.
Even though all three men were smiling you sense the tension in the room.  "I-I was just wondering if we could walk somewhere and see some sights tonight?" you ask. It was true that during your stay so far you had not really had the time to stop and have a proper look around Hasetsu.  "What a perfect idea" Yuuri agreed.
You all were walking by the beach which was lit by the setting sun. Staring out at the horizon you felt a little homesick, thinking about the large number of miles that now distanced you from your country and home. However you must enjoy the present and make the most of your time here in Japan.  "Guys please can I take a selfie with you three? I could post it on social media, my family would love to see who I'm staying with. They have already heard so much about you." you ask.  "Do we have to?" Yurio protested.  "Yes you do." Victor said, pushing Yurio towards you so he could be ready for the photo.  After deciding that Victor had the longest arms, he took a photograph of the four of you on your phone. The setting sun on the beach was the perfect backdrop.  After thanking him, you noticed that Yuuri whispered something in his ear and he nodded in reply.
Walking closer you look out to sea. The sun rays causing the waves to glisten. Upon hearing approaching footsteps, you see Yurio walking towards you out of the corner of your eye.  "It's beautiful isn't it." you say.  "It is." he softly replies. Little did you know that he was actually looking at you rather than the beach. Appreciating how the colours of the setting sun lit your frame. He wondered to himself that the beach wasn't the only beautiful thing here.  Turning to face him, you stare into his eyes as they sparkled in the fading light. The both of you stood there in silence, looking at each other for a moment as you forgot that you were not the only people there.
Suddenly you both snapped back to reality upon hearing Yuuri's voice.  "Is it OK if I talk to (Y/N) for a moment?" he asked. You frown when Yurio nodded and moved away as Yuuri cut in.  "So are you enjoying Japan?" he said in a positive tone.  "It is beyond amazing. Thank you so much for inviting me here." you smile. Yuuri looked down as he shuffled his feet. Sometimes it was easy to read Yuuri. It was obvious that there was something more pressing that he wanted to say.  "What is it?" you asked, unable to stand his needless fidgeting any longer. He took a deep breath to calm himself before speaking.  "(Y/N), are you OK?" he said in a serious tone. You tilted your head to one side confused by his question. What was he getting at?  "It's just... You seemed a bit nervous today... Has Yurio upset you? My sister Mari said that she heard him shouting at you yesterday whilst Victor and I were out. It's OK, you can tell me." he said worried.  "Oh... That was a misunderstanding. Besides we're friends now." you giggled nervously.  "Really? I don't think Yurio has ever been the one for making friends or at least so quickly." Yuuri chuckled. You could believe that. Also it was obvious to you that he and Yurio did not always see eye to eye. Now was definitely not the time to tell Yuuri about Yurio and you.  You giggled at Yuuri's unnecessary sad expression. You took one of his hands in yours, lifting it slightly whilst staring into his eyes, so he knew that you were telling the truth.  "Really" you said in a serious tone with a smile, making him chuckle.
As the sky darkened, you all decided to head back to the Inn. Whilst you walked back Victor offered you his jacket as he noticed you shiver because or the sea breeze. He lazily hung it over your shoulders as you expressed your gratitude.  "Hey (Y/N), seeing as you had to put up with Yurio for two whole days in a row. Why don't I teach you some of the basics of skating for an hour tomorrow after practice?" Victor said as you all walked through the front door of the inn. You froze a little. A grin flashed onto Yurio's face, which he quickly tried to cover with his blonde hair. You started to think about yesterday and all that he had taught you. It would take no time for Victor to find out that you were no longer a beginner. But then again, to have Victor Nikiforov teach you ice skating was an absolute dream come true.  "I would love that Victor, thank you!... I must admit that since arriving here I been watching quite a lot of skating videos on YouTube, so I may know more than you think." you smiled and Victor chuckled.
"Just try not to tire yourself out when you watch Phichit practice. Victor is a very thorough teacher." Yuuri added. Of course you nearly forgot that tomorrow you were watching Phichit practice in the next town. You must remember to bring your book so you could sketch him. Automatically, you looked at Yurio whose eyebrows had turned into a frown as anger burned in his eyes. He must have forgotten that too. Little did you know that he was not at all happy that he would hardly be seeing you tomorrow. Especially now that you had grown closer.
Raising your hand to your mouth, you attempt to stifle a yawn.  "I think my bed is calling me. Have a great night guys." you say as you start to walk towards your bedroom. Suddenly you feel a hand grip onto your arm which stopped you in the middle of the hallway. Quickly you turn around to see Yurio stood there. You had hardly spoken to each other since being at the beach. Looking around you realised that the both of you were now alone together and walkway from prying eyes.
He continued to frown but there was a sadness in his eyes. After a minute or two, it was Yurio who broke the silence.  "You don't have to go with Phichit tomorrow if you.... I mean it will probably will probably be boring... I mean.. I.. I don't want you to go... I'll miss you." he admitted as his cheeks blushed red. You giggled. It was the first time that his hard exterior had completely melted away to reveal his vulnerability. You raised your hand moved some of the stray hairs out of his face.  "It's just for tomorrow." you giggled, unable to believe that he was jealous. Your hand stayed on his face and started to stroke his cheek as you smiled.  Slowly you leant forward and pressed your lips on his.  "Ok" he whispered with a smile as he pulled away.

Always gets iconic lines / killing parts in songs
내꺼할래 !! (wanna be mine?)
같이 갈래? (let’s go together?)
Iconic line in polaris
Here’s a compilation you didn’t know you needed
Again made fun of by astro for doing the 같이 갈래
That one astro play where he’s just talking and then lil bitches sanha and jinjin pop up behind him and go 같이 갈래!!! and he just looks so done
The centre of all of Astro’s arm symbol formations
Makes sure that you know who he is (bc he’s cHa-A e-EUN Wu-UU *thumps chest*)
This ALSO gets mimicked by the other members, and poor boy tried to chug a soda and do this as well but ended up burping on camera as a result ;v;

European Bagel: once said he was eating an ‘european bagel’ on ok!ready episode 1 if anyone knows what that means pls let us know
He gets anxious about being a burden to astro
Talked about it in Astro Project watch at your own risk I cried
Listen he does so much he juggles acting and photoshoots for CFs and astro promotions he’s constantly trying to improve himself he’s never a burden and if there's one member in all of astro i want to hug and just !! tell him he's okay and that everything will be okay and tell him that he’s perfect and that he’s enough and deserves love it’d be Eunwoo for me ;;;;;;;;
Also Eunwoo: (sits quietly) / 5stro: let’s fuck with him

Voice like moonlight
Need him singing??? Here
Titles his v-lives “차은우의 Just one 10 minutes” but they’re never 10 minutes they’re nearly an hour long
His voice is just really really soothing and comforting and if you ever need something to calm you down when you’re upset or if you need a background voice for when you’re studying here he is
Singing voice has improved so so so so so so much from Spring Up, his live singing shakes me to the core
Also sang opera in ASC so really hoo boy he’s improved so much I’m so !!! :’)
Literally can we pause and take a moment to appreciate his baby photos I looked like a rat when I was younger and here he is, snatching,
Tumblr media Tumblr media
My favourite baby ever ajkdlhsfakjsdf i lovE
Did some modelling campaigns pre-debut
Shara Shara
I bet you needed all these pictures in your life
Cute lotion video :’)
Still king of CFs he recently did a baskin robbins one (with Yoo Seung Ho)
It’s pretty funny
He’s so cute what the heck
After the whole thing, he got addicted to ice cream; he mentioned in a vlive that at some point he could just eat sandwiches and ice cream the whole day
But fantagio also probably feeds all of astro ice cream for breakfast so really,
A Lafuma ad with Seolhyun (AOA)
A Polham ad with Doyeon (Weki Meki)
A Ceci spread with Doyeon too!!
A Lotte Water Park ad with Sejeong (Gugudan)
Won an award for best male CF smdh
Wears frickin glasses and makes everyone cry
That one DDOCA where it’s him preparing for a hit the top shooting I would like you to know that this is coming to you from the grave
Got scouted by a Fantagio recruiter when he was in middle school, then bugged into joining the fantz
He was the school president, in the top three of the entire school, wanted Seoul National University to become a judge bless his fuckin heart
Apparently rejected Fantagio the first couple times they asked, but gave in bless him thank god
Astro claimed pre-debut walking anywhere with him meant everyone doing double-takes
Re-enacted on ok!ready: sanha and mj talking in a coffeeshop then stopping and sTARING THE FUCK OUT OF EUNWOO LMAO
Literally blew up on male-dominated sites for being PRETTIER THAN THE FEMALE MCs AT SHOW!MUCORE
So pretty that Hello Venus thought he was prettier than them when starring in their video
Some weibo arohas describe him as the kind of handsome where “even if you’re already married, you’d still take a second glance at him if you passed by him on the street” ("那种虽然有老公了但是对路过的帅哥还是想多看两眼的感觉") I 10000% agree
weibo arohas also call him "轌轌" car car / cha cha i'm fuckinjasdfkjdf
In case you wanted a heart attack
Labelled a “Face Genius”, but wants to be acknowledged for more than his looks
“Someone who’s more reliable than anyone else and who always gives his all to the people he treasures, who’s very hard on himself and there are times where it gets too much but because of that, he’s someone who’s detailed and earnest.” (creds to @astrotranslations)
Dony on Weekly Idol called Rowoon (SF9) a face genius once but Rowoon politely deferred and said that title belonged to Cha Eunwoo :’)
Said once in an interview that he’d take whoever he likes out to dinner, give them a necklace then confess asdjfhlaskjd a true romantic bby
Also said that he was an “FM” boyfriend (field manual) asjdhflaksjd my heart is weak don’t attack me like this
You know what, Binu gets a section to themselves smdh
Just so you know, arohas didn’t come up with the name ‘Binu’, they came up with it (”Team Soap”) themselves
explained it by saying 빈 (Bin) + 우 (Woo) = 비누 (Soap)
Roommates!!
Picked each other in OK!Ready and have been living in the same room ever since
in the recent Night Night show they did Eunwoo said that if he could pick roommates again, he’d still pick Bin
Is apparently scentless to Bin
Smdh we all know what habituation is it’s bc he smells Eunwoo too much Eunwoo doesn’t have a specific smell anymore
Also together like 24/7 stuck to each other’s side if you’re looking for eunwoo ever just look for bin you’ll find him there
Bin claims Eunwoo is the most beautiful creature on earth tbh same
“Is he really human? How can someone that looks like him exist?”
Eunwoo thinks Bin is the most handsome too I love supportive friendships ;u;
IS THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN WAKE BIN UP AMAZING
Literally though sanha and jinjin posted a twitter video of them trying to wake bin up it doesn’t work it apparently only works when eunwoo gets him to wake up
Sleeps through sanha and jinjin prodding him but wakes up when eunwoo starts talking in a vlive
Bin said in the harper’s bazaar interview that he doesn’t wake up when the manager calls him to get up but his eyes naturally open when he hears Eunwoo sighing (creds to @astrotranslations)
Bin’s mom even sent in a concern to hello counsellor bc he wouldn’t stop sleeping and couldn’t wake up so really… eunwoo = magic?
Want more Binu? Here, here and here!
Friends with Mingyu from Seventeen
Mingyu called him once for advice on what to bring to the jungle since he too was going on law of the jungle
Said in Night Night that he gets cold really easily
Tumblr media
Yet in OK!Ready (as pointed out by @jinwoostro) he stood outside waiting for Jinjin and Sanha to come even though he was freezing ;u;
A sweetheart!! Who cares so much !!!! for other members!!!!!!
Listen this boy works so hard and he does so much for a 20 year old: he models, he acts, he’s learning 3 other languages for Aroha, he handles university courses AND he still keeps up with astro’s promotions I’m really crying he’s worked so hard he deserves the world
Im rly fukcing criyng i gotta sotp i love this boy,

The Engagement Party (Part One)
“Is he always like this?”
Yuuri glanced over his shoulder to stare at Nikolai who was watching Victor with an amused look on his face. He turned his attention to his fiancĂŠ, who seemed to be fuss over the flower arrangement for the third time in the last half an hour.
“He always gets fussy when something involves Yurochka or myself,” he sighed softly while shaking his head. He turned his attention back to the oven, looking over the pirozhki which were finally a nice shade of golden brown. He slipped on his oven mitts before pulling them out and walked them across the kitchen to place in front of Nikolai.
The elder man looked over them for a moment before breaking a little bit off and taking a bite.
“Good,” Nikolai praised, causing him to sigh in relief.
“Yurasha!” Victor called out, hurrying into the kitchen with Makkachin a step behind the man.
“Yes?” he replied while slipping off the oven mitts.
“Are the decorations okay? The colour doesn’t seem off, does it? We can still change it,” Victor asked, looking at him with a worried look.
“They look fine,” he ensured Victor while holding out a hand, “Come here and try my pirozhki before a certain someone notices they are done.”
Victor stared at him for a moment before nodding his head, hopefully accepting that the decorations didn’t need to be fixed for the five time today. His fiancé moved towards him, slipped perfectly into the space beside him and wrapping an arm around his waist while peering at the chilling pirozhki in front of him curiously.
“How are they, Nikolai?” Victor asked the elderly man.
“He has improved since the last time he made them for me,” Nikolai stated simply, giving them a gentle smile. Victor reached for one of pirozhki with his free hand, only to gasp and pull his hand away after touching the hot pastry.
“You knew I just took them out of the oven,” he sighed, as he quickly grabbed Victor’s hand and turning it over, checking for any burns. He found nothing and shyly pressed a kiss to his fiancé’s fingertips in relief.
“Sorry,” Victor chuckled, squeezing his side gently.
“PAPA!”
A shout echoed further in the house, catching all three adults attention. After a moment, Yuri came hurrying into the room, Potya being held up in front of the boy, looking completely relaxed despite the uncomfortable position.
“What’s wrong?” he asked.
“Potya won’t wear her bow,” Yuri whined, holding the cat up higher in the air. He let out a soft sigh as he untangled himself from his fiancé and moved towards his son. He scooped Potya into his arms, cradling the cat properly while accepting the pink bow Yuri pulled out of his pocket.
“Come on,” he said while moving into the dining room. He pulled one of the dining room chairs out of the table before kneeling in front of it and setting Potya down on the chair. He ever so gently looped the bow around the cat’s neck, making sure to be careful of her ears and whiskers before straightening the bow.
“There we go,” he said, turning towards Yuri who was grinning brightly.
“Now we match!” Yuri shouted, turning around to show him the blue bow that was holding the end of his gorgeous braided ponytail together.
“Wow,” he cooed, reaching over to press a quick kiss to the boy’s cheek. Yuri let out a whine while stumbling back a few steps to rub his cheek.
“Yurochka,” the boy glanced up at the sound of his name, smiling brightly at his grandfather while hurrying towards the man, “Your papa made pirozhki.” Nikolai said, patting Yuri gently on the head.
Yuuri let out a small chuckle at the squeal of delight that came from his sons before the obvious question of if he could have one left Yuri’s lips. He turned back to Potya, planting a gentle kiss on top of the cat’s head before standing up.
“Vitya, did you remember to get the wine out?” he asked while carefully tucking the chair back into the dining table, being careful not to hurt Potya as he did it.
He sighed as he heard what he could only conclude was a French swear before Victor hurried out of the room.
“You sure you want to marry that?” Nikolai questioned him while helping Yuri into one of the other barstools at the kitchen bench.
“Definitely,” he stated simply as he went to collect a plate for Yuri to eat off of.
The party was in full swing and Yuuri didn’t know what to do with himself.
He suddenly felt nervous and out of place despite being in his own home.
Sure, he wasn’t good at parties, but he hadn’t expected to be this nervous about having so many unfamiliar faces in his own home.
The few people he did know though, seemed to be enjoying themselves, thankfully.
Nikolai was seated on the lounge, locked in a conversation with Yakov, Lilia and Minako. All four of them seemed to be enjoying themselves, sipping wine as they argued among themselves about something he didn’t understand.
Anna had arrived early to help them set up – not that it was needed with how fussy Victor had been – bringing with her a large plate of vatrushkas – something that Victor had gushed over after ‘sampling’ one.
Currently, she was seating in the front window seat, Potya pressed against her side as she talked with Georgi about the newest romance movie to hit the cinemas.
Victor was floating around the house with Yuri a step behind him, happily making conversation with all the unfamiliar people. His fiancĂŠ seemed right at home, completely unbothered by the number of people in their house.
Yuri, though seemingly attached at Victor’s hip, didn’t seem bothered by all the people either. Greeting many of the people Victor started talking to by name, even cracking a shy smile for a few of them.
He let out a small sigh as the doorbell went off again, half hoping that it was someone he knew as he went to get the door.
He plastered a smile on before gently opened the door, only to pause at the sight that greeted him.
In front of him stood Christophe Giacometti and Phichit Chulanont, two of Victor’s skating rivals.
“Hi!” Phichit greeted with a bright smile while reaching over and grabbing one of his free hands to shake it, “I’m Phichit and this is Christophe.”
“Bonjour,” Christophe said, winking at him.
“H-hi,” he mumbled, blinking at the two skaters in front of him, “I’m Yuuri.”
“Yuuri,” Christophe cooed, “What a lovely name!”
“T-thank you,” he mumbled while ducking his head and dropping his gaze to the ground.
“P-please come inside,” he mumbled, stepping to the side to let the two skaters in.
He stood to the side awkwardly, letting the pair come inside before gently shutting the door behind them.
“Oh, wow, the house looks incredible,” Phichit said in delight as he shrugged off his coat.
“Very tasteful,” Christophe agreed.
“Thank you,” he mumbled while offering to take their coats. He was a little confused why the pair had coats, seeing as it was Summer, but chose not to question it.
“Can I get you anything to drink?” he asked politely while leading them towards the dining area where all the food was set up, along with the collection of alcohol Victor had prepared for them.
“Just a water for me,” Phichit said simply.
“We are in Russia, not America, you can drink here,” Christophe spoke up, nudging Phichit shoulder, “I’ll have a glass of whatever Victor is drinking.” He nodded his head as he grabbed a wine glass and poured Christophe the white wine Victor was currently drinking. He smiled as he handed the glass over before turning back to Phichit.
“Are you sure you just want water? We also have sparkling apple juice?” he offered.
“Water is fine,” Phichit mumbled with a pout. He nodded and quickly collected a glass of water for the Thai skater.
“So, Yuuri,” Christophe hummed, “How did you meet Victor?”
“We use to be neighbours,” he said softly.
“Oh? Back at that crappy apartment building?” Christophe questioned. He chuckled while nodding his head.
“Yeah, we were neighbours for almost three years before we meet,” he explained.
“But how did you meet?” Phichit prompted.
“He fell and I caught him in my arms,” a new voice sighed before an arm was wrapped around his waist.
“Victor!” Phichit said brightly, flashing a blinding smile towards his fiancé.
“I am disappointed in you two. Immediately cornering my beautiful fiancé, not even coming and saying hello,” Victor huffed while glaring at his fellow skaters.
“Papa.” He glanced down at Yuri, who was holding his arms up at him. He smiled softly as he scooped the boy up into his arms.
“And this must be Yura,” Christophe cooed, catching the boy’s attention immediately.
“Yes, Yura,” Yuri confirmed, glancing between the two men in front of him before he gasped.
“Vicchan, Vicchan,” Yuri said, reaching over to tug on Victor’s shirt, “They skate like you.”
Victor let out a chuckle as he nodded his head.
“Yep, this is Chris and Phichit, say hi,” Victor said, pointing to each one in turn.
“We watched you on the tv,” Yuri said in delight, “You went up against Vicchan.”
“We did,” Christophe said with a smile, nodding his head. He glanced over his shoulder as the doorbell went off again. He smiled apologetically while moving to set Yuri on the ground.
“No,” Yuri whined, reaching out his arms from Phichit. The Thai skater didn’t waste a moment, taking Yuri into his arms and smiling at the boy.
“You going to be a skater just like Victor?” Phichit asked Yuri, who nodded his head.
“Yes! I’m gonna be the bestest!” Yuri declared loudly.
He chuckled softly at Yuri’s statement, pressing a quick kiss to Victor’s cheek before heading towards the door again to greet their next guest.

One step at a time - Yuriyuu
Rating : K+
Pairing : Yuri Plisetsky + Yuuri Katsuki
Note : Here is my first contribution to that beautiful and underestimate ship ! Hope you’ll like it !
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Being a very clumsy, naive, shy and clueless person, always averting his eyes to be able to talk to someone he doesn't know, and too concentrate on his skating session since he had begun to follow his idol's path, to care about what was going on around him, Yuuri Katsuki didn't know anything about love or what kind of sensation you can experienced by having an important person by your side, and would never have thought that someone would confess to him one day, now that he was almost twenty seven years old. But what shocked him the most in that unexpected situation, was that the one who let his heart speak its true feelings in a bunch of unfinished sentences, cut here and there by a curse in russian, saying over and over that it was the worst stupid idea of the world, was none other than Yuri Plisetsky, the only one who, or he had thought at first, hated him for being such a loser and crying over a simple defeat at their first meeting.
However, with certainly a lot of courage and putting his pride aside, the blonde haired teen had stuttered what he liked about his eldest, praising his kind and gentle personality, mumbling something about him looking good with his hair pulled back and glasses on or the fact that his smiling face motivated him everytime he saw it, blushing madly, eyes looking everywhere to avoid the blank expression that had appeared on the other's face, and had tried to run away just after that because he had felt embarrassed and wanted to hide under his black hoodie. But, to his own surprise, the Japanese skater had grabbed his right wrist to prevent him from fleeing and had answered positively to it, explaining that he would like to give it a try to see if he could return his feelings after some time, showing a burning face to his fellow.
Not knowing if he was happy to be accepted by his crush who, he had thought, would have been grossed out by his homosexuality even though he seemed to be really close to and liked the physical contact with Viktor, or if he was angry to be pitied like this, because the other had a hard time to say no to someone, the youngster had agreed to execute Katsudon's plan.
And now, they were dating.
Well, kind of because they hadn't had the chance to go on a real date and everytime they were together, Yurio always seemed to hesitate to make a move on him or take his hand just to show him how much he really loved the adult and that he was serious about his feelings. During these moments, his little green eyes wore a mixed glow, one of excitement and another of shyness, and the ravenette didn't want to force anything on him, especially when he was also unsure about what he felt toward the boy, so he waited until the other was ready to take their relationship to the next level.
And it almost happened one month after they began to go out with each other, when the seventeen years old skater, just after their training session together, leaned forward to kiss him on the lips, eyelids closed to be able to overcome his embarrassment, but then Viktor came in, holding cheerfully a drooling Makkachin in his arms, ruining the mood and forcing them apart, their actual situation still a secret from everyone so the social media wouldn't step in, even more if Phichit was around with his phone. Yuuri could easily understand why the other wished to hide it for the moment. After all, the blonde male wasn't an adult yet and it would be hard to assume what they felt in front of the whole world, without provoking a scandal or attract the jealousy of the russian's fan. And since Russia wasn't as opened minded as Japan or France, his coming out would be even more difficult.
Unfortunately, the pork cutlet lover couldn't stop that affection growing in him like a flower in spring with each passing day, his heart beating faster when he touched that pure white skin, and the little to no contact they could rarely share, was actually driving him crazy to the point that he would initiate some of their actions. That was how they had kissed for the first time.
The brown eyed skater had grabbed him by the shoulders when they were in the locker room, to pine him against the wall behind, locking his mouth shut with his own, stifling Yurio's gasp of surprise, and Yuuri would lie if he said that he didn't liked it. On the contrary, it had turned him on in many ways. He, who believed that he would never be able to initiate anything in his life, had taken the lead for just one moment.
He hadn't wasted his time and had bitten his lower lip to ask for entrance, earning an adorable moan from his partner, his body shaking against his, hands on his upper arms for support, squeezing his muscles between his fingers. Their tongue had fought for supremacy, a battle that the smaller of the two had lost since the start, and when oxygen had become a necessity, they had parted, panting and looking at each other with a lustful glow in their eyes.
After that event, they kissed a little more often, still doing it in some discreet place or when they knew that the champion skater wasn't around to bother them, and Yurio seemed less shy about it, asking for more everytime they would make out, but not enough to go all the way. The oldest man didn't care because it was already a huge progress. Plus, he wasn't too sure about it either. Will he be strong enough when the time will come ? He didn't know.
Then, two months and twelve days after the confession, an unexpected call made their relationship take a decisive turn.
Yuuri was eating breakfast while watching the news in his apartment's living room, when his phone rang and the face of his boyfriend appeared on the screen. Putting the chopsticks down, the ravenette took it, unlocked the call and greeted the person at the end of the line with a dazzling smile, even though the other couldn't see him.
  “Hey piggy ! How are you doing ?”
The Japanese skater didn't note the nickname that was at first, an insult, and became a cute pet name after the beginning of their love story, making it sound more emotional and pleasant to hear now.
  “Goodmorning Yurio. I'm fine and you ? Still, sleeping at the hotel ?”
  “Yeah … Yakov wants me to stay there until he comes back from Russia but, well, that's not why I called for. I was thinking that we could go out together today since, you know, we are dating …” the russian tiger grumbled as if he was annoyed.
  “That would be a good idea yeah ! When and where do you want to meet ?”
And so, they decided on the place they would meet in two hours before hanging up, saying I love you in an awkward whisper. Because of their training, it had turned into an habit to wake up this early in the morning, while the birds had just begun to sing and the sun could barely be visible behind the mountains, and sometimes, Yuuri would go for a run in the streets to avoid being bored or thinking about depressing things. Hopefully, today was going to be fun and entertaining so, he enjoyed his meal before entering the bathroom to shower himself. It was the first time the youngster initiated something and it made his heart beat like crazy, resulting in him smiling like an idiot under the pouring water. One hour later, the pork cutlet lover was dressed in a dark blue shirt, a light black coat and a tight grey pants, and was now staring at himself in the mirror, trying to decide what he could do to make his hair look good, so his companion would like it. Not knowing what to choose between pulled back style and casual style, he went with his normal haircut and put his glasses on. When the time to leave came, the black haired adult left his cheap house to go to the pet shop in town and listened a peaceful song to calm the anxious beating of his heart.
The surprise struck him like a truck charging at full speed when the silhouette of the shorter male came into view, wearing a blue hoodie and white pants, sunglasses on the tip of his nose to hide his identity, tapping something furiously on his phone, and he called out to the teen so he wouldn't scare him. Still unsure about public opinion, they had to behave outside the apartment and were forced to keep some distance so they would just look like two friends. That's why, the blonde skater didn't jump on him like he would do when they were kissing.
  “You're early ! It's not like you to come before the time we decided.” Yuuri said while petting his head covered by the hood.
  “Stop treating me like a child, piggy ! And I'm never late, you are !”
  “Ahaha ! You are not completely wrong for once ! So, what do you want to do today ?”
At that, the other blushed madly, turning his face to avoid being caught in that state, and scratched his left cheek like he was hesitating to make a proposition. He was so adorable when he made that kind of expression and the ravenette had a hard time to contain himself. He had recently realized that his partner was more kind and careful with his words or actions than he wanted to admit, and it added to that cuteness of his. Suddenly, he was pulled out of his thoughts when Yurio showed him the store in front of which they stood with a trembling finger.
  “C-can we go in there ?” The russian asked slightly worried about what the passers-by might think if they knew it was them being on a date.
  “Sure ! Why not ? You want to see the kitten right ?”
An heartwarming laugh escaped his parted lips, earning a punch in the shoulder from his lover, and they entered without another word, discovering a whole new world rythmed by barking and meowing. The moment the green eyed teen saw the feline in their boxes, he forgot immediately that he was in public and went toward the right section to take a better look, followed closely by the older male who couldn't help but feel happy at the sight before him. For almost an hour, the two of them watched the little creatures beyond the glass playing with each other, a black one jumping on a grey one when he wasn't paying attention, and their eyes widened when the skinniest of them all, tried to climb out of his cage to catch a blonde wick that was falling in front of the youngster's forehead. With the permission of the owner of the pet shop, the cat lover had the chance to hug the animal and caress it, mumbling sweet things to the kitten, giggling joyfully when its tail tickled his nose, and the other stared lovingly at the happy teen, forgetting the world around them for a second. Then, after verifying that no one was minding their presence, the pigglet put his dry lips on his temple, letting little sound came out, and Yurio almost screamed in fear because of the sudden act but didn't say anything else, sulking at his boyfriend for what he did, his cheeks becoming as red as a tomato. The russian placed the feline back in its box, hiding his hands inside the pockets of the sweatshirt he was wearing, and stood up to look at something else, searching for nothing in particular.
Yuuri chuckled for himself. He was so cute. A warm feeling spread into his entire body, butterflies flying in his sensitive stomach, and a brunch of memories began to form in his brain, in the part of it where it wouldn't be lost.
  “Hey katsudon ! Look, there are piglets here ! They are just like you … round and pink” the teenager called out, standing in front of a large glass box.
  “You're right ! They are so podgy ...”
  “Hey ! This one is black and white. I want to cuddle him !”
He had muttered the last part as if he didn't want him to hear, but the Japanese skater heard it well and bent down to whisper gently into the crook of his neck.
 “You have me already or are you that impatient to take me in your arms ?”
  “W-what a-are you doing, stupid piggy ! L-let's get out of here !”
If he did not know the seventeen years old skater, Yuuri would have thought that he had upset him, playing with his nerves like this, and would have tried to apology over and over again. However, he had learnt during the last few months that the boy had difficulties to express his emotions in a positive way, and that he could be rude just to say I love you to the man he loved. So, the ravenette said goodbye to the owner and followed the shorter male through the crowd in the streets, keeping a good distance between them so no one would notice that they were a thing. Their new destination was the arcade. Even though Yurio wanted to look like an adult, proud and strong when he skated on the ice, in reality, he was still a child that hadn't had the opportunity to enjoy his childhood and could only focus on winning the competitions.
So, the older male lead him toward an easy game to play a bit together, explaining the rules quickly while they were searching for it amongst the bunch of people that filled the tiny place, and climbed on the platform which  was covered in symbols. Arrows to be precised. They were going to dance. At first, the teenager didn't seem to be pleased by that game, removing his glasses to be able to see something in the dark room, but when it started, he forgot completely that it was ridiculous and got into the game quickly without minding it. However, unlike his lover, the youngster couldn't follow the movements showing up on the large screen and anger built up inside of his chest, exploding in a bunch of curses in Russian, slamming his left foot on the wrong button at the end. The black haired man turned in his direction, panting a bit because of the effort he had provided, and sighed at the upset expression on his beloved's face.
  “Come here ! With all these wicks in front of your eyes, that's not a surprise that you can't play well” the Japanese told him, taking a rubber band out of his pocket.
  “Shut up piggy ! I can see very well even with all my hair over my face !”
  “Yeah, yeah … I hear you !”
But he didn't listen. Going behind his back, he began to braid his hair, caressing his head consciously, doing it without looking around him, seeing him shudder under his touch, and tied it in a ponytail with care. Now, he was able to see his beautiful green eyes and the other part of his figure, that was always hidden under his wicks. It wasn't his best work, some sticking out here and there, but with that, he would appreciate the game and share a good moment with the Japanese man. And in fact, he laughed, screamed in joy and grinned during the second play, beating his boyfriend during the fourth, and they burst out in giggles when they thought that it was time to give their places to other people, that were waiting for it since at least ten minutes.
Some had recognized them while they were in the arcade, asking for an autograph or to take a picture with them, and Yuuri had to excuse themselves so they could leave, followed closely by some fans that they lost after fifteen minutes of turning and running in different alleyways. The ravenette hadn't imagined someone would bother them outside of competition, the girls screaming at the top of their lungs at the sight of the cat lover, and he pouted a bit at the thought of his beloved being the target of all these people, even though most of them had no bad intentions. Jealousy grew up in the pit of his stomach and he bit his bottom lips to supress his anger against the whole world, looking at Yurio beside him in that deserted alley, wanting to take what was his. Behind them, they heard those fangirls calling the Russian in disappointed voiced and the older male grabbed the blonde's hand, forcing him in a second narrow street, shielding him with his tall body, their faces close enough to feel each other's breaths.
  “W-what are you doing ? We are still outside !” The shorter of the two grunted, trying to push the other away, cheeks flushed.
  “I don't care. No one is here and I just want to kiss you !”
  “Don't tell me you're jealous of my fans ?”
Not wanting to admit it or answer to that stupid question, the pork cutlet lover shut him up with his mouth, sealing his lips with a heated kiss, the tip of his tongue teasing him until he gave up the access to his wet cave, tearing an adorable moan from the youngster, and his fingers began to caress the skin under his jacket, earning a thrill of pleasure. Unable to escape from Yuuri's firm grip on his face and hip, the Russian melted into the exchange, putting his own hands around the black haired man's neck, standing on tiptoe to close the height gap between them, and fought fiercely for dominance, growling when he understood that he wouldn't win that battle.
Playing a bit with his hair, the cat lover wished more, ignoring the fact that they could be seen, and meowed when one of Yuuri's fingers brushed against his sensitive abdomen, tickling his navel in a sensual way. However, as they were about to go a bit further, panting to catch their breath, the ravenette sucking at the junction between his neck and shoulder to leave a mark, claiming him as his, someone came in the alley and forced them apart, so they could keep a bit of privacy.
Arranging their clothes, they looked discreetly toward the intruder, a middle-aged man that seemed to be upset by an unknown thing, and exited the place quickly to go back to the main street, smiling and blushing madly. If only that moment had lasted longer, the Japanese skater would have been the man the most happy in the entire universe, his feelings growing stronger and stronger with time, but he knew it would be too much to ask and they were walking in a big crowd now, so he could forget about it. But, to his own surprise, he felt something brushed against his wrist and took his hand tightly, intertwining their fingers in a lovely gesture. Staring at their members, the older male wore a shocked expression, thinking that everyone could see them, but Yurio didn't let him go, keeping his head up with pride, and murmured shyly.
  “In the end, I can't stand it … I don't want to be apart from you ! You're my Agape and I don't give a fuck of what they'll think of me …”
Smiling proudly at his boyfriend, the ravenette thanked him quietly and continued to walk through all the people, caressing the white knuckles with his thumb. Happiness replaced the jealousy he had experienced previously and he thought that soon, they could reach another stage in their relationship.
Maybe ?

(Ah! This might not be a friendly prompt just to let you know,,) How would the cast react to someone in the killing game with a seemingly innocent talent with a quiet and shy personality, only to be find out they're actually really evil, like being manipulative, violent, and the worst part is, they're the only one who knows they're *spoilers!!* in a virtual world and Mikado plans but decide not to tell. *They're not in void! Just to let you know* How would the sdra2 cast deal with them?

I’m really sorry this took so long, but for the life of me I couldn’t figure out what to write for this scenario, but I finally came up with something after all this time with the help from this amazing skittle! (get it cause skittles are multiple colors! I’m sorrry for that terrible joke and for how this turned out, this really wasn’t my best work. Though, I still hope you enjoy, the next ones I finish up should be soon.) But with the help of @imaginefanganronpas I finally manage to finish this! So, thank you!

I know you can hear me
Open up the door I only wanna play a little~
- A bright smile was plastered on your face as you spoke with your fellow students, laughing and joking along with them. Friends were the impression they were under.
- Wouldn’t betray each other, live a peaceful life, the same old lines repeated like a broken record. S/O couldn’t count the various times they’ve heard that phrase to the point where they started to tune it out, but the smile remained never the less.
-Everything was blissful, S/O made friends and they spend time together until the idea of the party was proposed. If your actual self was being displayed, there wouldn’t be a chance that you would be offered to do something like this, but since it wasn't known, what could go wrong?
-The party was rather boring, in your opinion as you stir the beverage with a straw looking around. Your behavior perked up when Setsuka had approached, “Huh? What’s the matter Suka-chan?” You asked, forcing a fake smile onto your face as she slung her arm around you and laughed slightly. “Why aren’t cha havin funnn? This is a once in a life time chanceeee..!” There was a small hiccup could be heard from her while you shook your head. “I am, I’m just a little tired.”
- Setsuka nodded before she stumbled off, S/O scoffed, as they soon stood up seeing as the party was slowly starting to come to a close. “Don’t worry, I’ll help take some of them back to their rooms!” You chirped over to the worried Yokuro as you made your way towards Nikei and Iroha, and started to bring them off to their rooms.
-With a small chuckle, you spoke with the intoxicated teens as you brought them back to their rooms. “Smank you..s/o!” Nikei hiccuped as he made his way into his room most likely collapsing instantly. Iroha was just laughing uncontrollably and so you had to tuck her in before leaving. Humming softly, you been to whisper a song underneath your breath as she made her way to her room.
-Ding dong
You can't keep me waiting
It's already too late for you to try and run away
I see you through the window
Our eyes are locked together
I can sense your horror
Thought I'd like to see it closer..
-The sound of the birds chirping is what caused S/O to wake up, stretching their arms over their head they got up and got dressed. Before starting to make their way towards the room after changing into their daily attire. The Ultimate plushmaker it was clear that S/o’s attire would reflect that with a pep in their step they soon excited the monocruise wanting something to do. This game was sure starting off slow, that’s for sure.
- I What brought them out of their thoughts was the sound of the bell ringing so they started running towards the curious of what happened. Perhaps a murder? A surprise visitor? Who knows, but then they arrived one of their guesses was crossed off of the list. That being a murder and the victim was nonother then the Ultimate Astronaut Yuri Kagarin. S/O had a frown on their face, contrary to the horrified expressions of their classmates. “Shame, I didn’t get to see it happen..” You muttered harshly underneath you breathe before shaking your head. “Poor Yuri, he was our friend!” You exclaimed, much louder as you put your hands over your eyes and shook your head being slightly dramatic, yes, but it certainly got the point across.
- Ding dong
Here I come to find you, hurry up and run
Let's play little game and have fun
- Towards the end of the trial, S/o was slightly surprised to find out that it was Hajime that committed the murder. But the other side of her, behind the facade, was simply jumping in joy from this. What would be the punishment? The execution? So many thoughts raced, that she had zoned out during most of the end trial, but they soon snapped out of it at the mention of ‘void’ and ‘masterminds’.
- Before S/o could ask, Hajime was pulled off into his execution with S/o smiling cheerfully when the boxer was pulled away before it faded almost instantly as to not look suspicious.
- When it was over, S/O let out a soft giggle as well as a smirk with a small glint in their eyes as they left the trial room.
- Oh how they couldn’t wait for another murder to take place, things seemed to be getting interesting afterall..
- Ding dong
Where's it you've gone to?
Do you think you've won?
Our game of hide and seek he's just begun
I hear your footsteps
Thumbing loudly through the hallways
I can hear your sharp breaths
You're not very good at hiding
Just wait you can't hide from me
- The next victim, Kokoro Mitsume, it should have been expected, she was to smart for her own good. Shame, as the saying goes, you win some and you lose some. In this case, S/o had won, rather than loss winning by seeing another murder take place as they predicted. Shaking their head, they turned and left the scene. A small smirk rising onto their face, as they rose a hand to cover it. Hiding it was the most crucial part, not that they were the murderer. They needed to keep their facade.
- At least, until they were cornered by a certain wizard. “S/O, you’ve been acting strange, ever since the first as if, you’re hiding something from the others.” There was a small smirk on the side of Mikado’s mask as he watched for their response. “I don’t know what you’re talking about, Mikado. I’ve just been my normal self!”
-Mikado certainly didn’t believe that lie as he crossed his arms. His mask had a small pout, before it changed into a mischief smirk. “I find that hard that the innocent S/o would be hiding their true intentions away behind a mask. I wonder..how they would feel if they found out their light hearted S/o was really a blood thirsty monster.” Mikado let out a small laugh, while S/o let out a small growl in response. “I wonder how they would feel if they found out they’re inside a simulation.”
-This caused Mikado to stop his laugh, with a demented look, and a flame suddenly appearing in his hand. “What’s stopping me from killing you..” S/o didn’t back down, they weren’t afraid. “The fact that if you did, and the others found out and you’re excuted, then your plan will fail.”
- S/o saw Mikado’s hesitance and took at as a chance to escape, which they did. Singing the words, “Just wait you can't hide from me. I'm coming.“ A sicking giggle followed as they disappeared down the hallway.
- Knock knock
I am at your door now
I am coming in
No need for me to ask permission
- Emma Magorobi, who would have though she would have killed her dear friend. As she claimed, what a shame indeed it was for her to do such a horrendous crime, it costed her life. If only she was more sneaky, shaking their head. S/O waved once again as the culprit was taken away, the glint returning once again. But it didn’t go unnoticed this time, there were a few concerned looks thrown their way. “I’m only wishing her a safe travel to a better place, perhaps she may see Kokoro again.” You chimed, with a small shrug of the shoulders.
- Some believed, while others remained skeptical of the situation. But it’s not like you had any harmful intentions, you were one of the kindest people they knew, so why would they assume such a thing about you?
- How naive they were..it’s a shame, really.
-Knock knock
I am inside your room now
Where is it you've hid?
Our game of hide and seek's about to end.
I'm coming closer
Looking underneath your bed but
You're not here I wonder
Could you be inside the closet?
- Setsuka, Ultimate Billiards player was the third victim. When the body discovery was announced, various foot steps soon bursted into the room seeing what happened to the female. Including, the ‘innocent’ S/o, but little did they know, their true colors began to show. A small giggle slipped out, before it turned out into full blown laughing. “Setsuka sure got to the point! She always was a cut above the rest!” The laughter continued until Yoruko called out. “S-S/o! It isn’t funny!” That caused S/o to stop for a moment and look at the female with a blank expression. “You’re right..it’s hilarious!” S/o covered their mouth and soon left the room, leaving the others within it.
-Ding Dong
I have found you
Ding Dong
You were hiding here
Now you're it
-The feels occasional giggles escaped, as you watched the trial go on. Giving a small amount of help occasionally, but other then that just giggled along. When the trial was over was when you started to watch idly with a bright twinkle in your eyes. It provided much enjoyment for the hours that were spent. True intentions being exposed aloud, surprised faces, as well remarkable ones similar to their own. Alas, it came to an end, Hibiki and Kanade. Ultimate Vocalist and Guitarist, were soon excuted. Personally, S/o didn’t enjoy their execution but that was just them. “Well! Now that’s out of the way! I’m ready for the next murder!”
-“S/o! How can you say that! Those are our friends!” Teruya aruged to which S/o sighed. “Allow me to put this in a way you all will be able to understand. I was never your friend, you all were simply pawns, with no meaning. Say Teruya dies in the fifth class trial, it would have most likely been to his stupidity.” Waving a hand, S/o left while the others remained speechless from their words.
-Ding Dong
Finally found you, dear
Now you're it
Ding Dong
Looks like I have won
Now you're it
-Shinji Kasai, the Ultimate firefighter who would have expected for him to be the next one killed. Sighing, they looked away from the scene and stalked off. They might have felt a slight attachment towards him, it was strange. Looking down at their hands for a moment, they let out a grunt before tucking their hands into their pockets to await the trial at hand. Surely their pointless attachment will die off like the rest of them by the time the trial comes around.

Pay the consequence
Ding Dong
Looks like I have won
Now you're it
-A suicide? They didn’t think that would have been the cause. But that was the conclusion reached at the end of the trial and judging by the verdict, it looks like it was the correct answer after all. What took them all by the surprised was the sudden change in Nikei, the air in the trial room grew very tense as Nikei spoke. S/o could understand why Nikei was angry as since they were at Mikado themselves. Pulling out a gun, they hadn’t expected that but they didn’t flinch.
-It wasn’t pointed at them afterall, the look on Mikado’s face as he told Nikei not to shoot. In what felt like a split minute, their body moved on their own. Running towards Nikei reaching out and smacked the revolver out of his hand just before he could pull the trigger. Panting heavily, S/o glared daggers at Mikado. “Shame, I’m sure you didn’t expect this in you plan..” Looking over their shoulder, they saw the surprised expressions of their other classmates before they started speaking. “You are should know what Mikado’s been hiding for so long! The fact that this isn’t real, we’re inside of a simulation! The deaths don’t matter! Contradicting to what Nikei said, everyone is alive out side of here! Mikado’s only trapped us here because he-” Before they could finish, they felt a chain around their neck.
-“You’ve already ruined my plans far more then you should have. Having you here is both a waist of time, and effort, so why not give you a proper send off..” Mikado replied, before snapping his fingers. “Monocrow, if you please.” Mikado called simply, as he snapped his fingers. The bird flew over to the button and clicked on it. “IT’S PUNISHMENT TIME!” Monocrow called out, as S/o was pulled off to their execution knowing that they couldn’t get out of. But instead of looking fearful, they actually looked excited, believe it or not.

The miracle of soul
Title: The miracle of soul Author: ngoisaotim Rating: K+ Status: Complete Characters: Ray, Zarc, dragon boys, bracelet girls Genre: Hurt/Comfort, Family, Friendship Disclaimer: I don’t own ARC-V and its characters. Summary:  “I told you, Zarc.” Ray firmly said. “I don’t fight alone. Yuzu, Serena, Rin, Ruri... the feeling, the soul, the will of all of them is being right here...”
“Nii-sama!”
Reira yelled when witnessed his older brother being blew back. “Are you alright, nii-sama?”
“Yeah,” Reiji nodded and tried to sit up, but his LP only remained 200.
Intrusion Penalty, 2000 points.
Reiji and others startled when heard that sound. They looked up...
“Ray!” Reo shouted when saw the girl with the long maroon and dark red hair. “Finally you revived! I waited for a long time for this.”
Ray looked at her father, but said nothing. She knew what her father did was for her, but basically she didn’t ask that, especially that made everyone to be hurt.
“Ray...” Zarc mumbled.
“If you revive, I will revive as well! If you’re going to destroy the world, I will stop you!” Ray exclaimed.
“You can’t do that alone!” Zarc smirked.
“As if I’m doing this alone,” Ray responded. “This time will be totally different.”
“What!?” Zarc asked, but Ray only drew the card to begin her turn.
“I activate the spell card, The miracle of soul! With this, when I summon monsters from my Extra Deck, I can ignore the condition about their names.”
“Ignore names!?” Reo curiously repeated. “What do you want to do, Ray!?”
She began summon her aces, or exactly, her fragments’s ace.
“Birds with beautiful wings! Gather on the battlefield and take brilliant flight! Xyz Summon! Dance in the sky! Rank 1! Lyrical Luscinia - Assembly Nightingale!”
“It’s Ruri’s monster!” Shun surprised.
“Nii-san...” Ruri’s illusion appeared beside Ray and smiled at him softly. Shun felt as if his heart stopped its beat. “Ruri! Is it really you!?” he choked.
“Yeah, it’s me,” she nodded, “I’m fine, but right now we must save Yuto and others,” she said then turned to look at Zarc.
“Yuto! It’s me, Ruri!” Ruri began. “We had fought together at Heartland, do you remember? You went cross dimensions for me. You tried to save me when I was controlled by that bug, tried to remind me of who I’m with your Dark Rebellion! So now, please wake up, Yuto!”
“Don’t say meaningless words!” Zarc annoyed.
“It isn’t meaningless!” Ruri responded. “I know Yuto is still being there. I know he’ll hear what I say!”
“You....” Zarc mumbled.
“Not yet!” Ray yelled and continued summoning other monsters.
“Winds of winter, snow and ice! Become my power to blow everything away! Synchro Summon! Come forth! Level 7! Wind Witch - Winter Bell!”
“Is that... Rin’s?” everyone winked. Nobody saw that monster before, but they realized that was Rin’s monster when her illusion appeared beside Ray.
“Yugo!” Rin yelled. “I’m sorry, I’m really sorry for hurting you. But you can’t stop here. You aren’t someone who can give up easily. You tried to fight until the very end, for me, for our dream and future. Please wake up and fight Zarc, Yugo! You can do that!”
“Shut up!” Zarc yelled when the pain attacked his heart again.
“We won’t stop, until we can defeat you, Zarc!” Ray exclaimed.
“Fusion Summon! Now, come to the stage! Sing your song of victory! Bloom Diva the Floral Melodius Saint!”
“It’s Yuzu’s monster!” Sora and others yelled at the same time.
“Yuya!” Yuzu yelled. “I told you once, do you remember? I don’t want to see you hurting others. You’re a kind boy, who only wants to bring smiles to everyone with your Dueling. You aren’t a demon, and you’ll never be, as long as you can resist Zarc and show him that you aren’t a part of him anymore! You always try to protect me. Notwithstanding how many times we’re separated, you always chase after me to save me. Respond, Yuya! Our feeling! And go home, together.”
“S-Stop it...” Zarc weakly said.
“Finally!” Ray closed her eyes in a while before summon her last ace.
“Fusion Summon! Come to me! Beautiful beast that dances in the moonlight! Moonlight Cat Dancer!”
“Serena’s monster...” Reo whispered. He couldn’t forget it, the monster Serena used when he saw her at the first time.
“Yuri...” Serena whispered when she appeared Ray like others. “I have no idea why we don’t know each other, like others. But... But I know you don’t like this, you won’t like being controlled or being immured in that body. I hope you can fight as well, for your own future. And... Yuya! Try your best! Fight!”
“Shut up!” Zarc yelled. “They don’t exist anymore. Don’t try to call them! They’re only my fragments, and now they returned to me! If you think you can defeat me by waking them up, you mistook!”
“I told you, Zarc.” Ray firmly said. “I don’t fight alone. Yuzu, Serena, Rin, Ruri... the feeling, the soul, the will of all of them is being right here...” she reaching her left chest while glancing at her fragments. “And no, there aren’t only them... We’ll fight with Yuya - who only wants to bring smiles through his Dueling, with Yuto - who didn’t want to hurt anyone even when he was living in a war, with Yugo - who always cares about others, especially Rin, his best friend, even Yuri - even when he used to be cruel and crazy, I know he wants to be free from you!”
“Don’t say anymore!” Zarc yelled. “All of them already disappeared!”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Within Zarc...
“Ruri...”
“Rin....”
“Yuzu... Serena....”
Yuya, Yuto and Yugo whispered, trying to stand up. They could hear it, the voice of their best friends, and they saw those familiar faces as well. They took some minutes to connect events, then looked at each other.
“We must escape from Zarc!” Yuya exclaimed.
“But how can we do that?” Yugo rubbed his head, trying to remove the giddiness.
“Ray must defeat Zarc,” Yuto replied, “that’s the only way. We need to help her.”
“Yeah,” Yuya and Yugo nodded.
“Do you want to have a little help?” A voice resounded behind them. They turned to look and gasped. “Y-Yuri!?”
“Don’t mistake,” Yuri smiled like how he still did. “In fact I don’t want to help you so much, basically I don’t like helping others, but I hate being immured in this body. It isn’t fun. Anyways, I can’t defeat you in this situation, Yuugou-kun...” he teased.
“It isn’t Yuugou - I’m Yuugo! You-!” Yugo yelled, but Yuto stopped him from beating Yuri. “Alright, first we must handle Zarc. You two can argue later.”
~~~~~~~~~
Ray continued fighting with her monsters and attacked Zarc with his monsters. Zarc mumbled and tried to do something, activated his monster’s effect, one of his spells/traps, or sought an Action Card. But he couldn’t do anything, since his fragments always tried to stop his moves. “Dammit!” he yelled. “Don’t prevent me! You’re only my fragments, don’t try to do meaningless things!”
“No!” Ray responded and made Zarc looked at her. “You can fail to realize, but they aren’t your- our fragments. Those eight fragments, since they were reborn in four dimensions, they received love and care from others, and grew up like eight individual living entities. They have their own will and dreams, you can’t ignore!”
“Ray...” Reo whispered, in a moment, he realized, maybe, just maybe, he mistook at the beginning.
“Battle!” Ray raised her eyebrows and order her last monster to attack Zarc.
A bright ray of light appeared and quickly covered Zarc. “S-Stop it...” Zarc was scared, and everyone stared at the light, wonder what would happen next.
Then Yuya and others appeared in place of Zarc. “We succeeded!” Yugo happily shouted.
“Thank you, Yuri,” Yuya looked at his Fusion counterpart and smiled.
“Hey, I told you I only did that for myself, I hate that body,” Yuri shrugged. “Don’t need to thank me.”
“But in short, we can stand here because your help,” Yuto said. “Don’t need to be shy.”
“I’m not shy!”
“Yuto!” Shun yelled and prepared to run to his best friend, but a dark energy sphere appeared and stopped his way.
“I won’t stop!” Zarc’s voice resounded. “I’ll return again and again!”
“That won’t happen!” Yuya yelled. “You’ll be stuck in our own bodies. And as long as our will is stronger yours, you won’t revive!”
“What are you say-” Zarc yelled, but right after, four bracelets that Ray wore on her right arm split that ball into four parts, and they quickly disappeared into four boys’s bodies.
Dimensions were slowly separated, until Fusion dimension returned to the original form it had after Ray split the world at that day.
“Ray!” Reo yelled and ran towards to hug his daughter. “I miss you very much.”
“Me too...” Ray smiled, then pushed herself away from her father. “I’m sorry, Dad... But I can’t stay here anymore.”
“What do you mean, Ray?” Reo was surprised. “The world is safe now. You can live here.”
Ray shook her head, then looked at Shun and others. “I just said this, do you remember? Yuzu and others aren’t my fragments anymore. They have their own lives and will. In fact, me reviving in time is because they agreed to help me, because they want to save their friends. Now I must return to them what they deserve to have, their own lives.”
“Ray!” Reo yelled. “I did everything for you, now are you saying all of them is meaningless?”
Ray sighed. “Dad. I never ask for that. I don’t want you to hurt others for me. I didn’t make girls appear to steal their lives.”
“But I don’t want to see you disappearing...” Reo choked.
Ray smiled and hugged her father again, trying to not cry. “Don’t worry, Dad... I won’t disappear. Yuzu and others brought a miracle bond between me and this world. Within each of them, I’ll always watch you.”
Ray stepped a few step back, then raised her right arm and made bracelets lit up again.
“Yuzu! Guys!” Yuya and others yelled and ran to their friends as soon as they appeared again.
“Yuzu!” Yuya cried while hugging her tightly. “It was over. We’re safe. We’ll never be separated again, I promise.”
Yuzu nodded, hugging Yuya back and cried. She couldn’t say anything else.
“Yuto! Brother!” Ruri cried and hugged them. “I feared I wouldn’t meet you again. Thanks for saving us.”
“In fact you and other saved us,” Yuto smiled. “You’re really strong, Ruri. Now let’s go home. Everyone is waiting for us.”
The green-haired girl glanced at them, then turned to look at Yugo. “I-I’m sorry for the D-Wheel...” she was confused, but Yugo only shook his head. “Don’t worry, we can create a new one after we returned to City. Don’t worry, now there isn’t Tops or Commons anymore. Thank to Yuya.”
Serena smiled and looked at everyone. Then she startled when realized Yuri was leaving away. “Hey, where do you want to go?”
“Anywhere,” Yuri replied without turning to look.
“Solve Yuri’s problem,” Yuzu teased.
Serena threw towards Yuzu a ‘why-me’ glance.
“Is it obvious?” Yuzu giggled. “All of us will return with our own dimension, and you’re the only way who stay here. If you aren’t with Yuri, who will do that?”
“I doubt him needing someone with him,” Serena shrugged. “But I’ll try becoming his friend, only in the case he doesn’t cause any problem for me.”
“So good luck,” Yuzu smiled.
Then looked up the sky with others, a clear blue that they thought, in a moment, that they wouldn’t be able to see again. But they could, because the cruel war was really finished.

Fearful Endeavors—Sunday Chats (1-29-17)
To Disclose Up Front
So. I’m afraid. It’s a thing I think goes without saying as a very empathetic United States citizen. I’m really, really afraid.
It may seem crass, or tone-deaf, or ignorant, but I don’t genuinely have the energy to enter in the national dialogue against the seemingly facist regime that is beginning to plague my great nation. I have a lot going on in my life, and not a lot of time and resources to compromise in order to assist in this thing I also care greatly for. That may make me a bad person, or at the very least, a worse person than who I could or aspire to be.
I’m aware of that, and I’m sorry. I’m sorry most specifically to the people who are directly affected by this disgusting situation we find ourselves in.
It is not excuse, but as I’ve talked about multiple times before, I have a very overactive sense of self-empathy, and seeing this torment has begun having a very detrimental effect on my personal well-being and health. It is absolutely in no way and excuse, but it is very much the honest reason I find myself shying away from the dialogue and discourse that is plaguing many of my social media feeds, my friends’ conversations, and beyond. I can’t be a part of that, as a selfish, 20-something year old, who wants to make his dream come true, and wants to figure his life out.
I wanted to put this here, up front, as a full reveal of my position, as Sunday Chats is and always has been your peak into my psyche, my well-being, from worst to best, and what my week has been.
This has been my week. I will attempt to keep reading, to keep learning, to keep watching, and stay attentive.
With this said... Onto the game-talk.
Twitter in the gaming space has blown up in a fun way recently from this little piece that’s been making the rounds:
Tumblr media
I managed to get over 30 likes when I tweeted this out, and I didn’t want to bog-down my followers with all my replies to this, but I thought it was fun, so why not participate! I did the first 9 of these on Twitter, and here is a link to that thread to see those replies and those first 9:
THREAD
So for my editorial today, and I’ll try and keep this succinct, I am going to do my 10-30. STRAP IN!

Best gameplay is tough. I may ultimately have to give it up Spelunky. But Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix is a close second. With Persona 4 being a close third.
But Spelunky is a game I continue to play and play, not for any particular reason, save for the fact that it plays so damn well.

My current gaming system of choice is the PS4. The Dualshock 4 is maybe my favorite controller ever made, and the system is a comfortable, easy to use and navigate platform with a bunch of great deals and exclusives. Where the Super Nintendo or PS2 are probably my favorite platforms of all time, the PS4 is a comfy go-to right now.

Journey is by no means hard, and is in no way off-putting. It’s beautiful, and simple, and it’s mechanics and gameplay are a great showcase of what video games can do. If I were to say a game of my all-time favorites that everyone could and should play, especially those who have no context for video games as an art form, and what they can accomplish, it’s unquestionably Journey.

A game I’ve played more than five times? Haha, that is actually not a short list.
The big ones, though, would be The Legend of Zelda A Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask. Played each of those at least six times each. A Link to the Past maybe 12 or so times, to completionist levels of finished. But the big one, because of how much time it is in my life, is Kingdom Hearts 2. I’ve “FULLY FINISHED” that game maybe five or so times, with a couple additional playthroughs on top of that. Love those games

I have multiple desktops on my computer, and for the past quite-a-few months years the first three have been Persona 3, Persona 4, and Persona 5. On my phone Rise Kujikawa also occupies my lock screen, as she has since I first finished P4G in 2013.

Since I can’t play until I finish this

Easily it’s The Last of Us.

This one is actually really hard.
For all of his dumb BS, I do love Xehanort in Kingdom Hearts. He is a great antagonist.
In the same vein, Liquid Snake/Ocelot is right up there from Metal Gear.
But maybe ultimately it’s Duke, from Tales of Vesperia. He is a really great villain, and such a wonderful contrast to Yuri, the protagonist.

Maybe not my #1 favorite but always an inspiration to me and one of my all time heroes:

Persona 4 Golden. Best story, about finding the truth and true friendship along the way.
#22
This one hurts. The biggest for me is easily Alundra 2
The first game was masterful, and it’s sequel had literally nothing to do with it and was a total cash grab on the cult following of the original.
Breaks my heart :(
#23
Plenty of things fit here. I mean, Uncharted 4 or The Last of Us or Witcher 3 could hit here on a technical level, but Journey, Kingdom Hearts, or Tales of Vesperia could also hit in the style department.
Pick your poison.
#24
Does Super Nintendo fall under classic? If so, then A Link to the Past.
If we’re trying to go older and older, than probably Mario Bros or Pac-Man.
Sooner than that, Super Mario Bros 3
#25
Haha, how about all of them. A game I plan on playing is all of them. A few at the top of my mind: Battlefield 1, because people won’t shut up about it. Nier, the original, because I’m really curious about it, and 999, because Nabeshin really loved it.
#26
Persona 4, Mass Effect 1-3, The Witcher 3, The Last of Us (the best of all 4).
#27
Two here:
One, the final battle with Xemnas in Kingdom Hearts 2.
But even bigger is the FIRST FIGHT ON TOP OF A BATTLESHIP FROM METAL GEAR SOLID 4 HOLY SHIT.
Tumblr media
The literal definition of “epic” distilled down to a video game scene. Holy shit. The music from all the games. The style changes. My heart is racing just thinking about it.

The Zelda team and Naughty Dog are close behind.

Honestly probably something weird like Dead Space or P.T. I used to hate horror so much, but those two are some of my absolute favorites of the last handful of years. Dead Space is a bit older, sure, but I adore that game.

No words need to be said. Not an original statement, but I stand by it.

Whats on Tap
Resident Evil 7
Hey why don’t you just watch me play this game!
youtube
Loving it so far and I talk about everything I’m loving in that video!
The Division

Once more you can look so i don’t have to tell you. Got dragged back into this weird nightmare by friends and I’m having a blast.
Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep 0.2 A Fragmentary Passage
Other than having maybe the best worst name ever, HOLY SHIT YOU GUYS
KINGDOM HEARTS 3
I BELIEVE AGAIN
It’s really good.
Tales of Zestiria
This is becoming a bummer of complex, weird emotions.
It really feels like a mostly-misstep for that series, and the open world parts of it are contrived and actively bad.
But I want to finish it. There are cool, interesting parts about it.
Questions
Tumblr media
Weird. It’s very physically exhausting, because I have to walk a lot. And I have to drive a lot to get there. And I’m not used to that.
It’s really stressing me out.
I don’t have a lot more to say about it right now, but we’ll see how things develop.
Tumblr media
Hi Roger.
Clearly you’re asking the wrong person.
Thank you for your follows.
Love you, brotha.
Tumblr media
SO EXCITED.
But seriously, PAX East is my favorite show, as you know Harold. Can’t wait to go again, talk to folks, make some connections, and really work that show again. It’s the only show out of the year I get to work, and it’s a ton of fun.
Tumblr media
Heh, well, about that.
I’ve never played Resident Evil 2! Or Resident Evil 3! Or Zero! Or Code Veronica!
I’ve only ever played 4, 5, and about half of 6. I have recently for the first time EVER been playing that Resident Evil 1 remake on PS4, which has been FASCINATING. Resident Evil 7 seems super great so far though!
Tumblr media
Uh, to go? Hopefully? I mean, I am going under the assumption that I am approved for my press badge, which is the only way I can make it.
I don’t know who all is going, but I sure hope it’s a bunch of cuties like usual! Right now, myself, Tony, maybe Scott, Jarrett, and Logan Wilkinson are going for IrrationalPassions.com. More stuff on that soon. I know Kaylie is going because she told me so! I really hope Joey Noelle goes. Danny Juarez really wants to go. Trevor Starkey will be there!
Sure we can hang out Xyger.
I personally don’t like pineapple on pizza. But I love pineapple! I’ve had it before and it’s not like I hate it or anything. Like what food you like! Im not a fan of mustard but a whole bunch of people really like that, so people can just like different things and enjoy them and that’s great because it makes us all different and that’s a good thing!
Tumblr media
Uhh... I don’t know?
Danny you need to pay all your debts off first. I’m worried about you. Like, on a near constant basis I am worried about Danny Juarez. For sure.
But yeah maybe we can do that sometime. I don’t know. You keep saying “when I come visit” to Vegas and I have no clue when something like that could happen, but we’ll see!
Okay, I think that’s all I have in me, emotionally, for today.
