The whole house is quiet on an early Sunday morning, save for some tapping and cracking sounds coming from inside the kitchen. A soft plop! can also be heard as Kenma carefully discards a stray egg shell away from the pancake batter mix using a spoon. He then slowly pours fresh milk into a liquid measuring cup until it reaches the desired level, before carefully adding it to the mixture. Next, he picks a measuring spoon nearby, unscrews the cap off a bottle of vegetable oil, and adds two tablespoons of it into the batter.

It’s unusual for Kozume Kenma to wake up early in the morning, much less cook breakfast, but today is very special; the reason why he woke up earlier today is to make you breakfast in bed—after a month of saying “I do’s” to each other, to make your favorite kiwi fruit pancakes with love.

He remembers something you’d said almost a year ago, while having a friendly date at a cafe just beside Kuro’s office one early morning…

“You know, Kenken? When I get married, I’ll ask my husband-to-be to make me pancakes like this one day,” you say to Kenma as you take an IG-worthy photo of a plate of kiwi fruit pancakes drizzled—no, heavily soaked—in maple syrup on your phone.

“Ehhh… really? Well, good luck to him, I guess.” He looks at you with a shit-faced grin plastered on his face. “That ‘one day’ is going to turn into ‘one week’, ‘one month’, and so on—ow!”

“Zip it, Puddinghead. As if I would force him to make pancakes everyday, you know?” you tell Kenma poutily, waving a forkful of pancake in front of his face before stuffing it up to your mouth. “I’m not that cruel~”

He sighs in defeat and smiles sheepishly before taking a sip of his latte.

“Okay, okay, if you say so…”

After slightly mixing the batter, Kenma adds the minced kiwi fruit that he prepared earlier and whisks it in until fully mixed. He then proceeds to dip a ladleful of the batter into the preheated pan, quickly shaping some of the corners with a clean toothpick to resemble cat ears before the bottom side completely cooks.

“Cute,” he chuckles softly, looking proud of his ‘artwork’.

“It sure is…”

Kenma suddenly jumps from where he’s standing, his golden cat-like orbs widening. He slowly turns his head around to see you peeking over his shoulder, sleep still evident on your face.

Your husband holds his breath in for a second before letting it go as butterflies start fluttering inside his stomach. “H-hi, Y/N, my love. Morning.” Fuck. Kenma internally slaps his mouth after messing up his greeting.

“Hi, Kenma, my love… g’morning~” Kenma feels your arms snaking around his waist as you snuggle closer to him from behind. He notices you looking at what’s into the pan and—Kenma finds this adorably endearing—your eyes twinkle as they widen a bit, sleepiness a thing of the past.

“Pancakes! And they’re cat-shaped, too!”

He hums and smiles, slightly checking the bottom side for any signs of browning before flipping the cooked side of the pancake with a spatula. Bringing his free hand to gently pat your head, he says in a matter-of-fact voice, “Did I also mention that they’re kiwi fruit pancakes?”

“Huh? Kiwi… fruit?”

Kenma feels your embrace around his waist getting a bit tighter. His cheeks gradually heat up as he silently continues on making another pancake, with you still hugging him.

He finally speaks in a soft voice. “Um… y-yeah. Because you told me to make one for you when we get married one day…”

“Oh. That conversation we had at the cafe that time…” You smile, both of you fondly remembering the memory.

“Yeah.”

Kenma silently cooks the remaining pancakes, the only sound heard in the kitchen is the slight sizzle of the pancake batter cooking. He feels your weight shifting from behind, strands of your hair tickling the side of his neck. He wonders if you can still feel his heart beating loudly just as he can feel yours.

“Y/N, kitten? Still sleepy? I’m almost done here, you should sit down and wait for me. Then we can eat breakfast together—“

A sniffle. “Thank you.”

“For what?” He then glances at your small form in alarm before quickly turning your attention back to the last piece of pancake, bringing the pan to a big plate sitting nearby before tilting it down, the cooked pancake sliding off and on top of the stack. Kenma turns off the stove. “Y/N… are, are you crying?”

You snuggle closer behind your husband again in reply—Kenma can feel a slight wetness forming at the back of his shirt, accompanied by a few sniffles and chuckles.

“Thank you for remembering. Thank you for coming into my life. Thank you for loving me, all my flaws and strong points. Thank you for marrying me. My bestest friend in the entire universe. My love. My everything… I love you, Kenma.”

Kenma holds your hand and kisses it softly, smiling. “I love you too, my Y/N.”

And he really loves you back. More than everything in the world.

The one where they both passed made me more emotional than the one where we lost to baker without maxed stats. Both of these endings left me spechless. I loved them and I want to play the whole game again

Also my favourite part in the story is when you win against baker so Lavander just starts to violently beat them up with her scythe. 10/10

i realised as i was writing up the post i just put out just now that i have quite a bit to yap about so imma do it now because why not.

So i got it on steam on my computer, theres a sale on steam right now and it was 3 pounds so i got it, and i did the first stage on my keyboard and realised it does NOT work that well. It's possible to play on keyboard but i just found it wayyy too hard so i connected my xbox controller to my pc and have been playing with that since.

I am going to admit, on basically every single stage ive gotten rank E minus one where i got rank D but im not too bothered about it because i do want to take my time with this game and take it all in. Im not gonna rush it and not try my tip top best, I'll do that the second time i play it. For now im just taking it all in and that includes the story.

Also, as someone who loves gaming, this game GRABS me into playing it for like 3+ hours every time i turn it on. If i like a game i will spend way too much time trying to finish it. For example, i got the murder of sonic and finished it in one sitting in roughly 3.6 hours (thats what my steam gameplay says). I only got up for food and bathroom breaks. And i know theres gonna be some people who are saying 'thats bad for you, you should be taking bigger breaks and shouldnt be playing games for so long!' and to you i say... shut up i like sonic. If i get a good game i will be making it my whole life until i finish it. Then do that all over again.

Anyways enough with that waffle, back to sa2. Knuckle's stages always take me the longest. I think one of them took me nearly 20 minutes because i couldnt find part of the master emerald. I get thats probably a me thing but oh my gosh was it annoying. The stages normally take me 2-10 minutes to do varying on what they're asking me to do and who im playing as.

ALSO THE SOUND TRACK <3333 AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!! I love the music it's amazing it adds so much to the game. There are some songs in the stages that arent as good **cough cough** pumpkin hill **cough cough** but overall theyre all like by me in their own way.

I would talk about the story line but that would make this post 10x longer so i think thats all i have to say for now, there will definitely be a post like this again when i finish the hero story but maybe not as long.

immediately i saw the connections between the story of l'mannes and l'manburg like bee i see what you did there (it caused much screaming), and the lesson for Tomys that Phil mentioned is still an enigma to me but wow the two brothers thing (aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa)

then the bandits. the contract. 'make it look natural', they were after Tomys, whoa who could it be???? Niki is very sus, especially in how the little flashback thing she seemed off in some way. 'Niki froze, her fingers pushing into the soft skin of her cheeks', Niki do you know something about this. Your tone was all funky. She definitely knew about this before Wilbur told her but doesn't like how Wilbur is going. Longtime friendship = regrets on her part for this whole thing going down. Niki also doesn't like Tomys at all, and expressed her dislike of him being king at all. Quackity isn't the kind of guy to do something like this, being all words and money, but he did mention something about being careful on the old mountain roads and made kind of a big deal about it. Actually the money part might have something to do with this, another point on Quackity doing this. The others in the court are otherwise having no evidence for.

but yeah crimeboys bonding arc in the wilderness time. oh boy i am looking forward to that.

hmm who could it be who could it be... it seems the main suspects people are focusing on are niki and quackity. let me give some counter points for both of them though

(now this isn't me saying neither of them hired the bandits. I'm not giving you the answer lol, I'm just pointing out flaws in the theories)

keep in mind, wilbur is niki's best friend. the closest thing to family she's ever had. do you really think she would go so far as to get him killed just to take down tommy? keep in mind, tommy has only been at the palace for a month or so. do you think her and wilbur's entire friendship that they've had since they were children has gone that downhill that fast?

now for quackity, yes he has the means, but do you think he'd go that far? he's not the type to do this like you pointed out. and again, he's close with wilbur as well. they've all been friends since they were children. do you really think he'd be willing to sacrifice one of his childhood friends just to take tommy out?

it could very well be one of them. or it might be someone else entirely. you guys are going to have to keep guessing ;)

To Kill a Rose is one of my favorite things I've done. I wish I had more than a month to work on it, but given the time I had, it turned out really good I think. So lately I've been on a His Dark Materials kick and I remembered your Daemon au art (which, is stunning may I say!) And I remember you gave Jean, Scott and Emma daemons, but did you or someone else ever think about one for Maddy?

I can't help but be rather interested in what a daemon would mean for a clone, especially the circumstances in how Maddy came to be via phoenix force. I get it if you don't have much to say and tbh I don't either, but I can't help but wonder what this would mean for her; Would she have a swan like Jean? The phoenix living through her and replicating what she/it knew with Jean? Which creates it's own issues about Maddy finding personhood when what's meant to be her soul even reflects what she was cloned from, so is it truly even her? Would she even HAVE a demon, which causes issues for Sinister in setting her up and maybe her daemon is originally something Sinister creates, which adds a deeper level in the fact that her soul is quite litreally manufactured...

Sorry for the length!!! I got lost in rambling, but the concept is so interesting to me and I hope it is to you as well. One small thing I think I do enjoy as a happy ending for Maddy is perhaps when she finds herself in who she truly wants to be (in your case, which I love, is with her hair buzzed and a lesbian), then perhaps her daemon finally reforms into something that fits her better...I'd want to say a whole new type of bird but that still might be too close to Jean so maybe a reptile to match Emma or even a mammal...also since daemons commonly are the gender you're "attracted to" (and I use that term loosely) I think Jean having a male daemon and Maddy having a female daemon is smth that's also a small neat detail.

Again, sorry for the ramble! I've just been thinking about Maddy and daemons for ages recently!

i am inclined to like the idea that maddy at first does not have a dæmon, which is one of the reasons sinister is disappointed with her, and then gets one as she makes contact with phoenix? i think maddy tends to isolate this as the point where she woke up and came to life, so it makes sense to me as a point where she might also get a dæmon.

i HAVE thought about a dæmon for maddy and i personally would not give her a swan but i WOULD give her a snow goose (i also briefly thought about giving her an albatross. for the wandering and the flying. if i did give her an albatross, i would give her a short-tailed albatross).

anyway i think giving maddy a snow goose is fun for a couple of reasons: 1) they are commonly mistaken for trumpeter swans (or, hunters say that they mistook trumpeter swans for snow geese) and i gave jean a trumpeter swan and 2) snow geese are just. incredibly huntable birds. no bag limits, lighter restrictions than on a lot of birds, while trumpeter swans are not hunted in alaska. i think this could reflect the way maddy is targeted and hurt after jean reappears post-phoenix, in a way that really sucks for her, but is fun for me.

(i have read 1 His Dark Materials book, so my awareness of dæmons is very much based on a general internet sense and also me liking to draw parallels between characters i like and animals)

maddy is a character who i really want to have a happier ending at some point, or at least find her way to some sort of satisfying resolution. i think your idea of maddy having a female dæmon is a really good one! i don't really know what maddy's dæmon would finally resolve into...maybe it would stay a snow goose, as maddy finally accepts that she and jean have to exist in the same world, but that she can find agency outside of that connection. i DO think it would be interesting for maddy's dæmon to at some point shift into an eastern koel, a kind of migratory cuckoo.

i think an eastern koel would very much fit maddy's inferno vibe, with its brood parasitism being a kind of stand-in for the way maddy feels she was forced in with scott and the x-men.

When his win rate steadily went up and up, it only fueled him further--it was like a Mobius Strip of consequences. It felt like there would never be anyone who cared enough to actually take him down.

Sure, she could think of a couple people who actually could--Valente, Friedrich, one of her guards on a good day--but nobody actually wanted to put the effort in to do it! Always too busy with a plethora of other things--of which, she didn’t blame them for this, not at all. It was just slightly frustrating, having to cut out her favorite thing to watch because of some smug jerk-off who ruined the whole thing!

What was the point of watching if fate already told the tale?

Of course, this was all until that opossum came about.

What an interesting specimen, really. She’s never seen anyone so strong before, someone who looks like they could easily break a house in half with their pinky toe. It helped that she looked really nice as well.

Surely, if anyone were to defeat Boris, it would be the opossum. She would easily go against the odds and win, Kit knows it for sure.

She wanted to see how this ended. She wanted to see who would win!
