"This is an aluminum knitting needle," Shiki says. "4.5 milimeters. Sturdy. I keep a pair of them with me when I'm going to be somewhere for a while. They don't break. Which means if one stabs you in the stomach, it'll hurt."

"Is that a threat?" Mikagi asks, like it's an actual quedtion and he really doesn't understand.

"It's a warning," Shiki says. He's so busy expecting it that he doesn't guard when she punches him in the face instead.
