genuinely i think a lot of you would actually be fixed if you went out and volunteered for something you believe in
#this whole ‘it’s all pointless. what does it matter? we’re sinking into fascism anyways so who cares’ mentality is from spending too much#time online#go volunteer with a soup kitchen or homeless shelter. find a nature conservation org near you and help clean trash from rivers.#plant pollinator flowers in your yard. dedicate some hours to a pet shelter. find local lgbt+ community spaces and see if they need#any volunteers. write post cards to turn out voters. go to a school board meeting. check if there are elections happening near you and pick#a candidate you can stand behind and see if they need help canvassing.#just go do something productive and try to help people.#this is like the equivalent of asking someone in a bad mood to drink some water. eat something. take a shower. take a nap. and see#how it makes them feel. doomerism comes from apathy. the best way to counter apathy is through action.
