here’s my review of glitch mode even though no one asked for one 

fire alarm: glitch mode this glitch mode that, arcade this arcade that, teddy bear this teddy bear that BUT WHERE IS THE HYPE FOR FIRE ALARM?!?! this song slaps and it deserves everything and tbh it should’ve been the title track... me thinks

glitch mode: it’s a good song but tbh listening to it after fire alarm was kind of underwhelming, maybe i’ll like it more with more listens and also i haven’t watched the mv, so maybe that’ll help. i really like the guitar tho, that was a nice touch. 

arcade: oh shit dude OH SHIT, okay i get the hype now lmaoo (i still like fire alarm more tho). jisung singing gives me life ngl, his voice is insane in this song. haechan’s adlibs are always top tier, and this is not an exception and the high note ughhh YES. 

it’s yours: nice intro tbh, very smooth and cute, i like the guitar a lot. very nostalgic vibes, reminds me a lot of the we young mini album, it has that nct dream feeling if that makes sense lmaooo. 

teddy bear: uuuu nice intro, is this the sexy song of the album? oh fuck yeah it is. i get the hype now lmaooo. jisung’s voice is driving me insane, he fits this type of songs soooo well. okay i’m obssesed bro this is sooo fucking good. 

replay: i like this, this is funky lmaoo, the oh oh part is everything. okay chorus i see you. loving the raps, everyone did an amazing job but the raps put the song into another level for me. dude its the way the songs titled replay that always hit different lmaooo. 

saturday drip: oh shit, so this is the other sexy song of the album. okay i like this a lot, the way they say saturday drip it’s so hot lmaooo. i am obssesed with the chorus bro it’s so fucking good. 

better than gold: okay i get a lot of 127 vibes from this intro, i’m not complaining tho. the pre-chorus is really good, that shit catchy, loving the way they say cash. amazing bridge bro, like holy fuck! 

drive: cute vibes, i dig it, also has a nostalgic feeling for me. the chorus is really cute bro i love it. renjun’s voice sounds amazing in this song, he suits this song very nicely. nice raps, very smooth, like they didnt seem forced. 

never goodbye: oh this has that dreamy vibe to it i really like it. dude okay this is really cute. JISUNG’S VOICE AAAAAAA. i really like the instrumentals? instrumental? it’s really soothing. no but jisung’s “it’s never goodbye” killed me and brought me back to life. dude nct dream really knows how to put raps into songs and they make it so smoothly i love it. 

rewind: okay groovy, i like it. yes jaemin YES, yes jisung YES, yes jeno YES, yes mark YES. the outro it’s so good. dude very nice song to wrap up the album. 

overall it was a very very fucking good album, all of the songs were different and unique in their own way but they fit together so well. album of the year? hell yeah

This is such a random post, but I watch a lot of youtube and it’s the best distraction/ way to pass time. I watch a variety of channels, and I’m subscribed to over 80 channels, and have about 1900 videos in my watch later list soooo :))) enjoy. No particular order but I’m doing 20 channels because 2020 (which needs to end right now). I’m going to link my favourite video of theirs as well, so you’ll have something to start with if you’re interested.

I already talked about her in my light content to consume while in quarantine post, but I’ll do it again. She is hands down my favourite youtuber. I had this phase where I was watching clothing hauls nonstop for some reason, and then I found Ashley’s channel. I couldn’t stop watching her videos. They’re fun, they have actual content, and she talks about stuff like how youtubers make money, and she gives the whole truth. Her fashion videos are so inspiring, I love her style, I love how she pairs things that you normally wouldn’t and her favourite word (say it with me, kids) juxtaposition of pieces that would ‘normally’ not be paired together.

She puts in so much effort into filming her videos, and even more into editing them. She doesn’t just do fashion videos, she does apartment makeovers, real talks, everything, but overall a fashion channel. I’ve seen her channel suddenly blow up and I think she had 500k or 600k subscribers when I started, and now she has 3.1 million :’) I want to raid her wardrobe for her thrifted pieces. 2. Yoora Jung

I wait for her videos more than any other channel, she just has the most relatable content because her days comprise of (other than her work, which is a lot) scrolling through instagram, watching youtube, snacking, rolling around in bed and procrastinating- I love her. Also her editing is on another level, all her intros are unique and fun. She can literally sit in a chair and talk about grapes for 40 minutes and I’d still watch. Also when she speaks in Korean, its the cutest thing ever.

neeeeeeen < 3 Watching her videos makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Not to mention she gives a virtual hug at the end of every video :’) She does GRWM’s, k-pop, fashion, art, day in the life, studying and bullet journal videos. Everytime she hits a new 100k+ number of subscribers, she does a cooking with nina, those might be my favourite ones because she always does a korean dish. Also not really studying with nina I LOVE THOSE.

4. ur mom ashley

She does fashion videos, but other content as well. She does thrift hauls, dressing out of her comfort zone type videos, and a lot of content with her siblings and boyfriend. Honestly, it’s a crackhead time when they’re around, especially her younger brother. She also makes what I eat in a day videos and I genuinely haven’t seen any other vegan person at least try to eat foods other than avocado and kale. She makes some nice recipes and eats good portions like a normal person, I really appreciate that.

Firstly, I’d like to point out how much I love listening to her talk, I don’t know what it is but I love it. She has some great DIY videos, it is a DIY/ fashion haul/ hacks channel so ya. She does a lot of revamping/upcycling videos where she transforms men’s oversized clothes and makes them cute. I was very inspired by her and I did some myself! She has an amazing sense of style I wish I had some of her clothes.

6. Nuria Ma

She’s eighteen, lives alone some of the time and is possibly one of the hardest working people I’ve seen, juggling school and youtube. When I started watching her I think she just turned 17 and I was going mad wondering how someone could be so organized and put together at 17. She makes her own food- three meals every day, works out, studies for hours, does youtube, and what not. She’s genuinely amazing, also look how pretty she is.

I found her channel only a few months ago, her videos are so calming and soothing to watch. She does a lot of day in the life type vlogs with her friends, morning/night routines and unboxings. She lives in Seoul that’s how I found her when I was looking for Korea content. Her fashion sense is amazing, and her cat, Yuri, is adorable *_*

8. Jenn Im

I don’t watch her makeup and beauty videos because I don’t know much about makeup, but her vlogs, fashion, and book videos are great. I feel like she’s a wise older sister that I don’t have =p I especially love her cooking videos where she makes Korean dishes that her mom used to make. She has her own clothing line too, she does some promo videos and stuff, they’re cool.

She deserves so many more followers. Productive q u e e n. My friend and I are always discussing how the hell she can be so productive. She studies, does freelance design work, does assignments, cooks, does youtube, cleans, what is she?? Her videos make me want to be productive but instead I sit and watch more of them =)

I legitimately call her maangchi aunty that’s how much I love her. Look how cute she is!!!!!! She has the happiest videos, they can brighten your mood in no time. Although many of her videos include meat, I still watch them so I can perhaps sub the meat for something else. She has a different headband/ head gear in every video, watch for that! I have tried three of four of her vegetarian recipes and I love them. I’ll link my favourite one, it’s become a staple at my house.

Also a vegan channel. I love his simple cooking and his style of narration. He doesn’t overdo it with the voiceover, he just says ‘medium sized pan’, ‘2 cups water’, ‘stir’. I’ve tried his gochujang and chili oil videos, they’re so good. I had to make do with what I had but still really good.

This is such a difficult question for me because all of their discography is solid. So I’m gonna list out the 5 that mean the most to me (and you can probably tell which albums I love the most):

Climax from Re.Birth- this song makes me feel so many emotions. I always tear up a little tbh. The lyrics are triumphant but also sound so bittersweet. I especially like Ren’s part here:

Translation: 

Darkness falls and the cold air that pressed down on meCan’t stop me anymore

and then the instrumentals drop out for a bit and you have a very good use of space to build up the chorus and makes its impact al the more powerful, imo. The chorus is really sweeping, too- and it matched the lyrics very well (”fly high”). I also love the piano used throughout the song. 

Look (a starlight night) from Canvas- okay so this song always makes me cringe a teeny bit bc of the opening moan >.> BUT AFTER THAT PART, it’s just so smooth and I love falsetto and light/airy vocals which Minhyun uses here a lot. It also has interesting sounds like little “wub” sounds (lmao idk what they’re called) and the synths are sooooo nice, not overly obvious but enough to give the song groove. And JR’s RAP! I love this rap out of all of the songs. It’s very mellow and laid back. I also like the staccato “Ba-by” at the chorus and how the chorus itself is very punctuated (does this make sense??)- which contrasts with the more smooth, flowy, verses. FINALLY around 3:06 someone does an “ow” adlib and it sounds so good, I always look forward to that part. 

Big Deal from Re.Birth- This is one of my favorites because I tend to like “darker” sounds and right off the bat we have some chanting and almost marching noises, idk how to describe it but it sounds very sweeping and epic. The lyrics are also reminiscent of staccato in the way that they start/stop without being held for too long. There’s a chime sounding part right before the “say my name, say my name” part which I really like bc of the contrast it adds. They also drop out some of the instrumentals right before JRs rap which I really like when it’s done well in songs because it helps build up the subsequent section. There are some electronic, almost dubstep elements throughout which you can especially hear during his part (as well as a siren!). The wailing electric guitar at the end (and the bits of it scattered throughout the song) is just so *heart eyes* 

Daybreak from Canvas- Okay, I love this song- not just because 2hyun (but that’s also a huge reason)- but also because it’s so soothing without being too slow. I also love how some of the synths sound very shoegaze-y. Minhyun’s voice sounds so good here ;__; And it works well with JR’s slightly raspy, mellow rapping. The little snaps throughout the song work really well without overwhelming the softer aspects of it. idk this song is just so good and I love the lyrics for it. They’re so beautiful and poetic and I cry about this song a lot. And of course my favorite parts of the song are the most well known:

Shalala Ring from Bridge the World- I love this song so much even the cheesy Ren intro (and the cheesy Aron talking at the end). The strings really make this song for me. It’s also so cheerful and playful. Then there’s like a more electronic breakdown that sounds so different from the beginning and I LOVE IT. The synths are also very light and weave in and out nicely. This song just makes me so so so so happy when I hear it. This song is also what I turned to the most during their exile to Japan rip ;__;

folksy slow very heartfelt. sounds like an indie movie soundtrack. like 85% of his ep makes you wanna cry, but like in a Good way. it’s cathartic. and also the most soothing thing in the world. if you’re driving to a part or just roadtripping, it’s a good Ambiance/Mood Setting Album/EP. also “sweet adeline” is just like the catchiest thing ever, it’s so sweet and uplifting, i love it. 

kirstin’s new stuff! not totally my thing, but she’s released a handful of songs so far that you could probably find music videos for. she reminds me of some of j-lo’s stuff for some reason but i’m probably totally off base. but the music videos are very. Aesthetic instead of story driven. very nice vocals, really nice production. dancey but like....soul...ful??? see, i’ve never been into this genre so i don’t have any words for it. it’s good, though. i particularly like ‘all night’ more than ‘break a little’ but they’re both good.

kevin! he’s done stuff by himself but also with a group called triptyq. again, not my thing (i kind of just don’t like one of the woman’s voice) but like. classical electric pop rock kind of thing. played on classical instrument with vocals n shit. definitely worth a listen. and his solo stuff is, of course, technically amazing. not ~technically amazing~, but like Technical Skill amazing. enjoyable. his covers are great.

worth it (perfect) - GODDDDD I LOVE THE VIBE OF THIS SONG. i just love it. it’s really sweet. this is the kind of shit i’d do hippie-wavy-arms to. and i did. um. hm. about a relationship that didn’t work out, but still caring about the person, understanding your new place in their life, and how everything can suck, but in the end it was still worth it, and the good times themselves were perfect for what they were. huh. maybe vaguely sounds like a semi abusive relationship, or maybe just a combative one or one that went sour. idk. ANYWAY.

vacation - i did NOT expect this to be such a good song based on the preview??? lemme relisten to it a lil real quick. this feels very like 90′s/00′s. oh my god so much. so poppy. slow guitar intro, poppy beat and nice vocals. “break on you like a wave” don’t even touch me i love this song. the bridge and the breakdown are SOOOO 90′s/00′s i fucking love this oh my godddd. 

sexy ladies - GODDDD I LOVE THIS SONG. i didn’t expect to love this song this much either. the entire premise is aimed at woman who go out dancing or clubbing, and their single or newly single, and scott and mitch are like ‘hey, you look incredible, fuck your ex he’s a dick, dance with me and let’s have fun and make some guys jealous, promise i won’t fuck with you bc i’m gay. but also your brother’s cute so like....’ but then the entire bridge is “hey if you’re single as hell you’re a 10/10 go love yourself and make friends and have fun and dance anyway you don’t owe anyone anything bc you’re fucking great”

heartthrob - YET AGAIN I AM HERE FOR THIS ENTIRE SONG AND CONCEPT. literally written by middle/high school versions of themselves about - you guessed it (or maybe not) - popular heartthrobs. they name drop so many guys. they talk about tiger beat. they talk about daydreaming about running away in the night with them and having angsty teen dramas. i’m SCREAMING this song is FUCKING GREAT. literally the chorus is “90′s heartthrobbbbb”

future friends - GOD this is the sweetest song of them all. i know obsessive fans like to search for Hidden Meaning in songs. but this one is pretty goddamn blatant. mitch & scott tried dating in high school, but it super didn’t work out, they spent months apart, and now they’re utterly inseparable as best friends. this song is literally just about that. “so if it all ends i promise that one day we could be future friends.” anyway it’s super sweet, but also catchy as FUCK. the chorus is GODDAMN WILD I WANNA HEAR REMIXES OF IT ALREADY. the vocals are great, i love it. i just love it.
