i did a whole rant about sandman but T_T next time. How they confess their feelings for you pt.2

Note: Guess what I’m feeling like posting twice today:)

Pt.1

Jujutsu kaisen ver

Kirishima: Classic confession at the back of the school. You have been in Kirishimama’s mind lately. You were the best person he has ever met, you are everything that he would ever want in a S/O. His friends are tiered of his friend being a love sick puppy, they encourage him to confess since he sometimes has low confidence because of his past. He calls you after class since he has decided to finally do it since he said that he will be living his life with no regrets, hopefully he doesn’t regret this what he was about to do. “Look Y/N I think that you are an amazing person and will become and amazing hero. I-I.... really like you and would you want to go on a date with me?! Well he was definitely looking forward for Saturday afternoon with a certain someone. Bestie still can’t believe you said yes.

Kaminari: The type you think is flirting but is actually serious. Kaminari has been trying to give you the hint that he is actually romantically interested in you. Of course who would believe him when he is flirting with every girl in the school or he was. He decided to stop just for you because he actually want something real with you, sadly you don’t notice. “Hey cutie, I was wandering if you would like to join me after school to get a bite?” After several minutes of convincing he managed to get you to say “yes” “I promise that you will have the time of your life with me Y/N” he will try his best to make you smile every second that you are with him. He is so grateful that you have him a chance,lol.

Shinsou: Leaves a sticky note to meet him after school. He knew he said that he wasn’t going to make friends since his main goal was to get into the hero course but that all changed when he met you. You tried to become friends with him and soon you were in his mind 24/7 he even had romantic thoughts about you. He knew he had to do something about it but he just became shy whenever he was around you. To play it safe he left a note in your locker to meet him after school, he left it anonymous to see if you would even show up. He was doubting himself if you would even come since who would want to date someone who isn’t even in the hero course. To his dismay you actually came and found him. “You actually came, well I think I just have to say it now... I like you Y/N but in a romantic way.” He was not heading back like a rejected looser like he thought he was going to,instead he was walking back with the girl that he loved hand in hand. You could see a smile on his face and you felt lucky to be the one to see him like this.

Tamaki: has trouble saying it but you say it for him. Poor baby has been on crushing on you hard for a long while. It was evident to everyone except you. He could make eye contact with you without blushing hard. He avoided you at all cost which made you sad. Finally Miro ha digo give him a push “hey Y/N Tamaki has something to tell you” he immediately looked down at the floor so you could see his flushed face. “I...l li...li” you knew what he was trying to say so you just finished it for him. “I really like you too Amajiki” he passed out at the moment, you thought you killed him.

Let's Talk About ...

Walk-Up Songs (Part 1) 🎶

I don't know why I felt compelled to analyze this, but “Neraiuchi” has been stuck in my head for a week and somehow I was lead to a list of walk-up songs on the Daiya wiki 🤷

According to the page, it states that "A walk up song, or 'hitting march' in Japanese, is a special song used as a cheer when each player is at bat. The song is different for each batter, and can be thought of as that player's 'theme'. Songs are generally assigned to players and not chosen themselves, and are often played by brass bands in the stands, by the fans." (Source)

I find it interesting that supposedly - the players themselves don't always choose the song, but rather the song is chosen for them. Honestly, I'd like to know if these songs actually match the players or not ?? 🤔🤔

Anyway, I guess I’ll give it a rating of either A, B, C or F - depending on how the song fits the player. (i'll be focusing on the current Seidou team for this post, but i might do the walk-up songs for the past third years later)

OKAY LETS GO!

Player: Sawamura Eijun Song: "Abarenbou Shogun Theme" (Eng Trans: "Rogue General/The Unfettered Shogun")

Hearing the song alone, I imagine some brave-looking man walking across a field of grass or on a horse, just aggressively ready to fight with weapon out. Ironically enough, that's exactly what this theme song is lmao. I can see why this is Sawamura's walk-up song; its very dramatic and could definitely motivate someone like Sawamura - an individual who wants to emulate a badass, unflinching hero, especially a shogun. Rating: A (super accurate; a hype song!)

Player: Furuya Satoru Song: "Kita no Kuni Kara" Theme from ~Haruka naru Daichi Yori~ (Eng Trans: "Far And Away" Theme) This is song is super dramatic, yet lethargically slow - kinda like Furuya 😂 (well, when he's in the heat). i mean, I get the reference to his hometown area of Hokkaido - but other than that, it's not super upbeat or motivating in any way. It's just a homage to a popular show, but not super relevant to Furuya.

Rating: B- (fine, but it could be better)

Player: Kominato Haruichi Song: "Sakuranbo" by Otsuka Ai (Eng Trans: "Cherry") Alternate song: "Cutie Honey" Theme (Inherited from Ryosuke) This song is definitely cute and pink, just like Haruichi! lol I don't know if it fits his personality in any way, but its definitely a hype song and imagining it being played by a brass band would sound super cool. Low key sounds like a anime OP. Supposedly, Haruichi's current song is the "Cutie Honey" Theme song, which is a OG anime from the 1970s. Essentially, it sounds like a fast-paced James Bond-inspired spy song. Why this was chosen I don't know, but its definitely a jam either way. Maybe there's just an association with the Kominato brothers and being cute ?? Rating: A- (not that relevant, but both solid jams)

Player: Kanemaru Shinji Song: "We Will Rock You" by Queen NOW THIS IS A WALK UP SONG! I'm obviously mad biased because I love Queen, but you can't deny that Kanemaru has one of the coolest songs in history. Kanemaru also seems like this kind of guy who embarrassingly jams out to old rock music with an air guitar in his dorm (privately, ofc) - so having this as his walk-up song is super relevant. Plus, "We Will Rock You" gives off badass, rockstar vibes and honestly, Kanemaru deserves to be a rockstar if he damn so pleases. 5 stars; would listen to again; no mistakes here. Rating: A+ (WE STAN QUEEN AND KANEMARU)

Player: Toujou Hideaki Song: "Ikuze! Kaitou Shoujo" by Momoiro Clover Z (Eng Trans: "Let's Go! Thief Girls") WHAT IS GOING ONNNN 😂😂😂 Is Toujou a pop princess?? Like, this song is so out of character for him (i mean, unless he likes idol girls who knows). Its very cute, but I am generally confused by the music, the lyrics, the... EVERYTHING. help I vote we get Toujou a new walk-up song ASAP. Rating: F (no, just no)

Player: Miyuki Kazuya Song: "Neraiuchi" by Linda Yamamoto (brass ver. here) (Eng Trans: "Sharpshoot") Like I said, I can't get this song out of my head. Every time I hear it, I immediate think of Miyuki and absent-mindedly sing "NERA-I-U-CHIIIIIII" 🎶🎶. I'm not gonna lie - the original version is definitely a jam, but the brass band version is on a whole different level. The lyrics even kinda fit Miyuki's personality in a way - for instance, Yamamoto sings, "These God-given good looks / It's a sin to try pointlessly / I wouldn't even care if/ the world's greatest touched this hand." Like, COME ON. How snarky and overconfident do those lyrics sound?? 😂😂At no point does Miyuki turn off that semi-arrogant streak of his, so realistically "Neraiuchi" is a perfect match. Plus, we get to hear him sing along Rating: A+ (YES YES AND YES)

This song is a little scary tbh, apart from the badass vibes

I always loved T.O.P’s deep ass voice and with GD’s high pitched rap it’s just perfect

The MV is funny, creepy and a bit fucked up but what did we expect honestly :D

They rhyme aLOT in this song which makes it really interesting to listen to

made me addicted to the GD & T.O.P combination

THE BADDEST FEMALE - CL:

It took me a while to understand that this isn’t a solo version of „I’m the best“

It’s the queen saying she’s a bad bitch so you know it’s a banger

As almost all CL songs this is good to let off steam and regain your badass level after someone pissed you off

The MV is a sexual awakening on it’s own and performances of that song are also definitely worth a watch

Burning Up (Fire) - BTS:

So I don’t really listen a lot to it but I still like it

Has all kinds of badass vibes and I like the soft breaks in-between

RM’s part is by far my favourite his deep voice is so satisfying

The MV is also really cool

You can see from previous songs I had a badass song phase (I still have this phase, I love badass songs) where I only took badass kpop songs seriously

Growl - EXO:

Okay, so I sometimes forget about this song haha

A good song that screams SM to be honest which I always thought was not that much the case with other EXO songs

The dance to this is really satisfying to watch and was probably the reason I bought this song

It shows EXO’s excellent vocals, has a nice feel and is easy to listen to

Quite an early song too

I love that you could potentially dance really hard to this but still is very soft

Instantly recognisable and also a kpop classic I would say

GOOD BOY - GD & Taeyang:

Is this a kink? This is a kink right?

An awesome song i have bopped to a million times

I really love the „pretty/good boy“ trope and who is better for that then our bad boys™️ GD and Taeyang?

Their voices sound a bit alike and I sometimes had trouble differencing them….whoops

The dance is so so good and the MV is such an accurate representation of these two freaks

Loved this song the second it started and love dancing violently to it

I now, btw, also own the whole album but it took me a bit to get into them (I was in girl group denial, don’t be like me show them girls some love!)

Being only four really makes it possible for all of them to shine, the vocals are clean and pretty but raspy enough to fit the concept and Jennie and Lisas raps are perfect as always

The beat is easy as is the whole song, doesn’t get annoying and is just a bop.

I’m repeating myself but you know I heard it’s also something non kpop people enjoy (Basically show them all of BIGBANG, lol)

As I said I was in denial of girl groups that didn’t have a badass concept which was soooo dumb!

I love the song, it’s cute and easy to listen to

I love RV’s kinda cute-creepy concept and with the music box in the background it feeds into my liking very easily

I have moved on from it though after discovering other songs from them so I don’t listen to it as often

Sherlock (Clue + Note) - SHINee:

I have known this song for years! Back when my best friend was into kpop and told me all about SHINee I looked into it, Youtube gave me this song and I instantly clicked. Didn’t like it clicked away and didn’t touch it for 5 years

Well now I love it and can’t stop dancing when it’s on

The MV is confusing but god they’re all so cute in it! Taemin looks so adorable with long hair!

I have watched the dance practice about 100x times and you should too! (jk)

And as much as I love SHINee’s vocal squad and they’re great in this, Key and Minho really do it for me in this song

The song lives from the dance and the performance and makes it 10x better

It’s also good for just listening though but not really calm and casual so be prepared to break out into sudden song

Amber…oh Amber. I love her really a whole lot and as I saw the MV I just had to have this song!

It’s a super fun and dancey song with (as the title suggests) a brassy sound

Much like Woof Woof I really enjoy this song bc of the MV,

Amber is rapping and being the goofball she is ;)

BUT! As much as I like that song and think she deserves all the solo stuff she can get I like her new stuff more because it’s more „hers“. I really enjoy her singing as well.

And confession of the month: I don’t like f(x)’s sound so I’m happy she does solo stuff

She’s such an inspiration with her unique style and attitude (sighs in very gay)

I LOVE this song! OMG!

The MV is kinda uneventful but the DANCE PRACTICE!

Oh boy! Well first off Lee Taemin is very distracting in it but you have to see the dance to believe it! That’s what they perform with! On a regular basis!

The sound is very electric and theres a quiet electric melody running through the whole of it that kinda sounds like some alarm clocks lol

You should absolutely watch performances! Jonghyuns high note is not portrayed well in the recorded version, boy has breath forever!

Apart from the vocals slaying absolutely every note the rap parts can’t be discarded by any means

It all just fits so perfectly

Oh and of course for a song of it’s time it’s just a little bit...nonsensical (especially the english parts lol: Loverholic, robotronic. what?)

Hero - MONSTA X:

I’m thinking of a helicopter landing platform, pulled up shirts and a scared Wonho

The dance to this song is…well do yourself a favour if you like abs and boys

Apart from the drool worthy performance, the song is super cool! Kinda chill, but still powerful and damn rapline went off!

This song really made them known more and it’s for a good reason

The sound in this is what is „typically“ MX for long time (Till up until Jealousy I’d say)

Sometimes a bit repetitive but what song isn’t lol?

Also still is in the „we all dress awful and don’t know what to do with our hands“ phase but that passes soon

Lead to many wonderful reality shows that makes it easy for new fans to get to know them better (Their group dynamic never changes they all just mature a bit it’s really nice to see.)

The State of Sound 2018

Welcome to a new experimental annual segment I like to call The State of Sound. This is going to be a yearly status update on toku-related tunes that are available legally to the public.

My hopes are that with enough support by giving yearly updates and filling the music industry’s coffers with cash, Tokusatsu music will be readily and permanently available to all who want it on iTunes, Amazon Music, etc.

Let’s not waste any time and get started!

SUPER SENTAI:

Has suffered a severe blow. See, Nippon Columbia has removed all of the 35th Anniversary soundtrack volumes from iTunes! It is annoying how we went from having 35 seasons worth of great theme songs and endings to nothing in just a blink of an eye, I regret not buying the entire set when it was available. Though you still can get a few scant songs on live performance albums from their original artists.

CD Japan or Play Asia is your best bet and struggle, as now you have to get the songs on your cell phone/mp3/computer the hard way by buying expensive CDs and ripping them into a playable format while bypassing region locking.

Kamen Rider:

Kamen Rider is lurking about a bit if you search hard enough, as its digital music has a bit more to offer. Oddly, the official site for iTunes has more songs in the library than iTunes desktop...and you cannot buy them. Avex held a ban on selling their music online to “combat piracy”, which apparently failed as now they are posting their latest Rider song online. Switch ON!, Surprise Drive, Life is Showtime, Nobody’s Perfect and many more are region locked on iTunes to specific countries.

The most infuriating one is EXCITE, millions of views on the official Avex Youtube channel and it isn’t available in the US (Though admin Digifiend can get his copy of the TV size version on iTunes as he lives in the UK, so you Britons can jam away!)

But with Be The One getting an official US release, hope springs eternal we will rock out to all our fave Rider jams! Til then, CD Japan and other stores and rip what you like onto your device. Or try Spotify, a few albums there you can listen to.
