Disclaimer: This is not a full list of fics with "proper/realistic representation"; this is just some of what I could find. I tried to include fics where the writer is disabled themselves, but most are by abled writers (it is what it is).

These works are not the end-all-be-all of disabled fics. These are just what I, as a disabled person, think is an adequate form of representation of what we have at the moment. I hope this rec and this post will encourage writers and readers to be more accountable as they develop and consume stories about disabled characters.
